5* up and down for Ben, Tony, and the Happy Trails team! You found the right place and you should book your adventure now! This is worth the trip here no matter where you are coming in from.From the beginning, Ben was very responsive, helped us book our rental, and stayed in touch with us all the way through.We booked the Starlight tour for two and had the 2 seater Polaris. This is a guided tour where Ben took us all around the gorgeous desert landscape for a few hours and then dropped us off at a beautiful camp site for us to relax by the fire, see the night sky, and enjoy our time together. They were flexible and gave us all the time we wanted. Then they came back to direct us to the drop off point. The crew provided water, snacks, chairs, firewood, a speaker, and s’more’s for this adventure. In addition, helmets and goggles are provided too.Even though we went in the summer months, we wore long pants and long sleeves for this adventure. We started at about 6pm and the wind kept us cool and the sun wasn’t too harsh.Ben has a ton of experience, he’ll show you the ropes, give clear instructions, and is patient. The 2 seater Polaris is a great vehicle, nimble and capable. Respect the vehicle, respect the trail, and respect the crew and you’ll have a good time.1,000,000/10, we’ll be back. Worth every penny.

The entire experience was amazing from start to finish. Ben (owner) is a truly awesome guy. His attention to detail and safety made the entire experience easy and fun. We reserved a four seater Polaris which was basically brand new and very well maintained. Two Dads and two 9 year old sons had the most epic time that we will never forget. Happy Trails Rental exceeded all expectations! The customer service, led by Ben, was exceptional; he truly cares about ensuring everyone has a fantastic and safe time. My boys and I rented a 4-seat razor and embarked on the scavenger hunt trail, which was an absolute blast. Ben and Tony are THE best. We cannot recommend Happy Trails enough. The ATV’s were new and in great condition. The trails were so much fun and the views were out of this world. Ben and Tony made the whole experience. They were so kind, shared so many recommendations and made sure we were safe and had everything we needed (and more). We had an absolute blast exploring the Mojave Desert with Happy Trails Rentals! From the moment we arrived, Ben, the owner, made us feel welcome and ensured we had everything we needed for an amazing adventure.He was incredibly helpful, patiently explaining how to operate the UTV and providing clear GPS guidance for navigating the trails. My family very much enjoyed renting through Happy Trails Rental. The online booking was smooth, the reminder emails helped, the extra blankets/goggles/gloves that were provided by Ben the owner were appreciated and the GPS navigation was great as a 1st time off road driver.What really stood out was the customer service as we somehow snuck onto the rental calendar for December 31st but Ben did not cancel our reservation. Much appreciated and much respect.If you want an amazing experience off roading, Happy Trails Rental is the only place to go to.

We loved everything about this experience! I booked the 4 person Polaris on the Happy Trails website for my birthday getaway in Joshua Tree with 3 friends and we did the 2 hr trail loop. The morning of the trip Ben called to make sure we had the proper address and directions. When we arrived Ben and Tony had the vehicle and our protective equipment ready for us. After a quick rundown of vehicle tips and safety, we were let loose to follow the GPS trail we chose. There was tons of elevation change and loads of photo ops along the way, And even a bathroom along the route. We had a warm day, but make sure you load up with gloves (they will provide you with some if you don’t have your own), scarves and windbreaker type of jackets. There were plenty of opportunities to switch drivers so we all had a chance to be at the wheel. The day we were out no one was really on the trail so we practically had all of the glorious nature and views to ourselves.Ben and Tony were awesome, I highly recommend this experience!

There are moments in your life that will stay with you forever. Our experience with Happy Trails and Ben, the owner, was most definitely one of them. As part of our trip to Joshua Tree National Park, we arranged a dune buggy and star gazing trip with Happy Trails. From the moment we arrived we felt special and welcome. Ben and his right hand man, Tony, were jovial and easy going. They were observant and could tell that this was an experience that my family and I were truly excited about. Knowing that, and after thorough explanations on how to drive and be safe in the dune buggy, Ben took us on a two hour (over 42 miles) journey that was simply outrageously fun. Driving that buggy over rocks and hills, through valleys and over a dried up lake bed, Ben gave us the experience of a lifetime. Over the course of the ride, we’d stop and Ben would take amazing pictures of our family. Then we’d get in the dune buggy and go again. To culminate, Ben brought us to our “camp” that was so cozily set up with a fire and recliner chairs. There were drinks and snacks and s’mores ingredients. Ben left us so that we could spend time as a family at that camp and star gaze in the desert, which honestly was life changing. He gave us no time limit and said when we were ready he’d come to get us. I honestly didn’t want to leave. And, I can say that we will return to desert, not only because it’s beautiful, but because we know we can’t wait to return to Happy Trails to make more life memories.

What an awesome experience! I took my family out on the Scavenger Hunt ride. When we arrived the owner Ben greeted us with a family like reception. It was our first time doing something like this, but the staff made us feel comfortable and confident. The buggy was new and in great shape. I was shocked how easy the touchscreen GPS was to use, plus it has an amazing Bluetooth stereo, the kids enjoyed listening to their favorite music. The trail was super scenic and offered plenty of excitement. Highly recommend these guys, they have it nailed down!

Ben was awesome. He was super accommodating to our travel schedule. The UTVs were tricked out with Bluetooth and accurate GPS. The Hercules Highway was super fun and had a great mix of different terrain. Five stars all around.

Prepare to be wowed by the Bentley of ATVs. Happy Trail’s Rental’s not only provides five star service, their ATVs are in pristine condition and technologically advanced. Typically, when you’re doing an activity like this, you prepare yourself for smelly helmet and goggles yet I was pleasantly surprised with how clean and tidy all of their equipment and rental products were. I can’t wait to come back to Joshua Tree and do this again and I’ll most definitely be using Happy Trails Rental for their superb customer service and the top notch experience they deliver.

This is one of the best businesses you can ever encounter, bar none! The entire experience from start to finish was one of the best I have gone thru in quite some time. This is a business truly focused on making it a very positive and ever lasting experience for who is participating. Ben and Tony have delivered and then some.We used Happy Trails for a company outing (rented 7 vehicles) as a guided tour, and more recently we took our two boys (11 and 9) on the Scavenger Hunt. Both events were extremely successful and everyone involved loved every minute of it.To start off, the booking experience was very simple (via website or via contacting Happy Trails directly). Not to mention, Ben the owner, is the most responsive person I have ever met. He answered all our questions, and was always available to work thru all the logistics at whatever time of day. Seriously even late at night.When we arrived for both events, we were greeted by both Ben and Tony in what I deem to be red carpet treatment. They were extremely friendly, and welcoming. They spent the necessary time with each of us, to walk us thru all the details necessary in terms of operating the vehicle, sizing us for helmets, getting geared up, safety measures, what to look out for, etc.. It was not rushed at all. We all felt very comfortable. They provide you goggles, helmets, and pouches to store any shades or phones to protect from the dust.Guided Tour: Company Event: The guided tour was extremely fun since it took the pressure of knowing where to navigate off of all the participants to allow our group to just enjoy the ride, the company, and the scenery. It is truly a beautiful part of the country. Our company outing was end of October and wasnt too chilly. We all wore light sweaters and that seemed to be just right. We even brought our own food, and stopped along the tour for a group lunch. All in all it was about a 50 mile ride that lasted about 5 hours start to finish. We drove about 2 hours to get to this event and it was worth every minute we drove.Self Guided Tour: Individual Event: We had a 4 seater rented out. The navigation was setup in the vehicle and was very easy to follow it all the way thru (Ben even walked us thru the whole route when we arrived). We got off track a couple of times, but it super easy to see that (if you are zoomed at the right level), and then course correct to get back on track. The scavenger hunt was undoubtedly a great way to get the kids to enjoy the excursion. There were four destinations along about a 40 mile ride. The kids looked forward to arrive to the next destination to find the box! They even got to take a small token of memorabilia from the boxes to remember the trip. There were several opportunities to stop along the way for kids to get out, explore, and even swap spots in the vehicle. All in all it was about a 40 mile ride that lasted about 5 hours start to finish. Side note: We went last week of December. Ben and Tony had provided us with additional jackets and sweaters because it was slightly colder/windier that day. Talk about being super considerate of their customers.I can go on and on about Happy Trails, Ben, and Tony. This is definitely going to be one of our go to events at least yearly if not more than that. Ben and Tony run a top notch business. You will leave extremely happy with an experience that you will share for the ages.

Superb all around. We were newbies to offroading and everything went smoothly. Instructions were extremely clear and the vehicle was very easy to ride. Absolutely recommend! Ben and Tony are great people, made everything very easy and fun, were very detailed and thorough on what to expect and how to operate the side by side. We had a blast on our adventure through the desert. Was a great way to celebrate my birthday!! We did the slash x restaurant trail. You drive on so many different types of terrain from thick sand to extremely rocky to flat dirt with a couple of steep hills to climb. We also saw a couple of wild bull. Can’t wait to do it again and bring more people with us and try one of the other trails.

SO MUCH FUN! Id highly recommend Happy Trails Rental for a family fun day. The location and Razors are amazing. A few things:1.) We were in from out of town. We rented two SXSs for our family of four. My wife and I have very limited driving experience.2.) It took me weeks to finally decide to book the Hercules Highway self guided tour.3.) I was worried the kids might get bored as passengers only. They didnt want it to end!4.) I was worried the course might be boring. It was amazing.5.) It did cost a few pennies. The whole process, course and Razors were worth every one of them.It was a huge highlight of our trip. Thank you Ben. Wed definitely run the course again.

We rented from Happy Trails for the first time on February 20th. Ben runs a very professional operation. We were given a thorough safety walk through on the vehicles we would be driving, and also what to expect on the trails. Ben made suggestions on interesting spots to check out along the way. He made sure we were comfortable with the vehicles and route before sending us out. You can tell Ben enjoys his job and making sure his customers will enjoy their adventure and be safe doing it. The vehicles are all in great shape and the GPS us it’s worked as expected. I would highly recommend using Happy Trails for an exciting Mojave Desert ORV experience.

It’s been years since I’ve been compelled to leave a review for a company but Ben deserves it! My husband and I rented ATVs this week while on vacation in Palm Springs, looking to liven things up.The scenery alone is amazing, but the trails are also incredibly easy to follow. ATV seemed brand new, with more bells and whistles than the side by sides we’ve ridden in the past. We saw a few dirt devils which was awesome, first time for me.What really was remarkable though — Ben and Tony were incredibly friendly, like - over the top friendly and made us feel super comfortable. 42 miles through unfamiliar terrain made me nervous so this was appreciated. They made sure we had plenty of water, were comfortable with our helmets, etc. We arrived early and expected to wait in our car out of the way but Tony walked right up and started helping us out (we were 45 mins early) with Ben not far behind.One of the best experiences of our life!! I wish I could ATV through the desert more often.

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and we absolutely loved the experience!The customer service we experienced was second to none. It was a pretty chilly day and Ben provided us with not only a giant blanket and gloves, but also a windbreaker for us as he realized we came underdressed. We were treated fantastic throughout the experience, the small details included by Ben and his team really made our experience memorable.For a recommendation for future users. Come when its a bit warmer (anytime but winter, others dress for the weather!) and make sure to stop at the lunch spot. It is not recommended, it is REQUIRED.It was by far the most beautiful spot on the trail and I could not have asked for a better spot to eat and rest after a long journey.

Best of the best. From start to finish, this has been one of the best off-roading experiences I’ve been on.My girlfriend took me to Happy Trails Rental for my birthday. Ben is a legend and a passionate business owner who knows true customer service. He provided all the safety information, vehicle operation and guidance for the long trail we picked. The vehicles were brand new, clean and well maintained. He added some beautiful viewpoints on our GPS in the vehicle. I felt confident driving away with his guidance and having a GPS with waypoints.There was cell service along the trails, Ben had an emergency beacon in the vehicle in case anything happened and Ben was just a phone call away.Overall, this is a 10/10 for experience and customer service. Truly thankful for Ben making this a great birthday experience.

BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! If you are hesitating to book this adventure, DONT! This was a gift for my wife’s birthday, but it ended up being a treat for the both of us! The entire experience from start to finish was amazing. The staff goes above and beyond, the trails are breathtaking, and the equipment is new and smells extremely clean (you know..COVID ;)). Everything was well thought out and you can tell they care about making the experience a great one (Ben our tour guide was INCREDIBLE- very knowledgeable and kind- he also moonlights as a photographer lol thanks for the great pics Ben). We had an excellent experience at Happy Trails Rentals. Ben and Tony were awesome they explained everything very well and we had a fun filled stress free experience. It was my 9-year-old daughter’s birthday, so we did the scavenger hunt. She had a great time navigating to the 4 different destinations. The scenery was great, and we were not rush so we could stop too enjoy the view. We rented two 4 seat razers and had 3 generation of family (we all enjoyed it). The razers were well prepared, easy to use, and all the equipment was provided. I will highly recommend this experience to all my friends and family. We are thinking of trying the sunset tour next year because it sounded like another great adventure.

My son and I rented a Polaris 2-seat RZR from Happy Trails and we were very satisfied with the experience. The staff (and the dogs!!!) at Happy Trails are professional, friendly, and courteous. The well maintained Polaris equipment at Happy Trails is nicely equipped with GPS, Bluetooth stereo, and emergency locator beacon.The experience of venturing out into the desert is amazing in addition to the thrill of riding there on a very impressive machine. The Polaris suspension really softens the ride over the somewhat rugged desert terrain. The confidence of operating such an able machine affords the renter the peace of mind to feel safe and just enjoy the awesome scenery in the High Desert.

It was our first time renting and driving a RZR, and we had a blast! Brand new RZR so we had no fears the machine would function properly. Our 19 yr old was happy to do the majority of driving, so us parents could actually enjoy the scenes. The 3 hour tour was great; Ben and Tony greeted us right away and got us comfortable with the machine and the upcoming terrain; even gave our daughter an extra jacket and gloves… Navigating was fairly straightforward but you need to pay attention… Beautiful scenery and awesome pictures. This was really so much fun! It was our first time driving ATVs and Ben and Tony were amazing and kind. They gave us a great introduction to how the vehicle worked and how to operate it safely. GPS also worked perfectly. We did the 6 hour trail and werent sure if it would be too long, but it ended up being perfect. Definitely one of the top experiences on our trip.

Ben and his team at Happy Trails create magical experiences. I took friends from out of town to Ben to show them what SoCal’s desert beauty is all about, and boy did they deliver! These guys run a tight ship - new buggies, well kept, fully equipped for safety & entertainment. These insane buggies rip! But without someone like Ben playing the role of the Leo Messi of the desert, the game isn’t going to have the outcome desired. Ben and his team see all the angles, delicately balancing the experience between fun, exploration and care for the great outdoors, while keeping you safe. Rock crawling becomes a very approachable experience in their hands, even from my “you what me to drive down what?!?!” level of proficiency. I can’t stress the professionalism of these guys enough - I feel comfortable taking my kids to them to guide us thru the great outdoors. I highly recommend Happy Trails and will be back!

Another happy customer here!!We really didn’t know what to expect going into our reservation for a party of 4 as none of us had ever operated an ATV before, but the owner Ben, provided a very detailed rundown of our vehicle, the route we had chosen (Hercules Highway Trail), as well as the safety precautions to stay safe in the desert.We made several stops and checked out numerous points of interest during our self-guided excursion and got to experience the capabilities of the ATV. We ended up getting a flat on our way back (because what’s a desert adventure without running out of water and getting stranded in the desert for a bit) and Ben was able to quickly locate us, make his way out, patch our tire and guide us back to our point of departure! We had so much fun that I was Googling how much an ATV was the next day! Great for old and young alike! I brought my 65 year old parents out from Palm Springs to do some off-roading and we had a blast! Ben runs an absolutely professional operation and he put my parents at ease. We had fantastic day exploring the hills in our 4-person RZR. Being February, there was concern it could be cold but we had great weather the whole time. We even got to see a desert tortoise! Ben runs a very safe operation and after our orientation we were confident to hit the trails. The machines themselves are extremely capable and I was able to give my parents a great thrill. We had a great time on the scavenger trail. My kids are 12 and enjoyed finding the boxes. One of our side-by-sides had a minor electrical issue and Ben fixed it for us right there in the middle of no where. I believe our tour was about a total of 80 hours. We did some technical riding, open road riding and mountain riding. The scenery was incredible! I think the fastest I got my side-by-side up to was around 70mph. My family of five spent a week vacationing in Palm Springs. On one of our days we did the Scavenger Hunt excursion. It was hands down the best experience of the whole trip. I absolutely loved Happy Trails! The trails and views were amazing! My kids and I had a blast! We are looking forward to our next vacation to come out and visit again! We did the 6 hr- full day Johnson Vallley Grand Trail (4 seater), which was so awesome. Ben, the owner, was extremely nice, knowledgeable, and gave us a very detailed orientation. He was fully equiped with absolutely everything and anything you can possibly need out there on the trails, like even blankets and wipes, which I thought was really awesome and so curtious. The UTV we got was practically in perfectly new condition and ran great. I am definitely very happy that I chose Happy Trails for our excursion. I highly recommend this place.

I love doing UTV outings! I do them every chance I get. This was far and away the best experience I’ve had. Ben is just an honest nice person doing something he loves and it shows and it very much shows though. The UTV was brand new and in fantastic working order (first time I was able to connect my phone and listen to music while cruising, unfortunately my wife took control and it was Taylor Swift most of the time! 🤣). Ben and crew made sure we had waters and proper safety equipment (which was clean and unlike other operations didn’t smell old and moldy). It was a bit chilly for our ride so not only did they provide gloves for us but kindly offered to let us go the next day instead to have warmer weather. I cannot recommend Happy Trails enough. If you want a great UTV desert ride experience, definitely go here. If we are ever in the area, we will 100% come back for another ride! 🤙

Ben and Tony were excellent from the beginning. We were beginner riders and they took the time to explain every detail of the vehicle and the terrain. We did the Hercules HYWY trail and it was fantastic. The vehicle comes equipped with GPS navigation and Bluetooth capability for good tunes. You can park anywhere along the 60 mile ride and take a quick hike for a picnic as well if you bring your own items. Overall awesome experience and will do it again!

This was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! I highly recommend anyone rent ATVs from Happy Trails Rental. My girlfriend and I did a private guided tour with the owner, Ben. He was fantastic! It was our first time using ATVs and he made both my girlfriend and I feel very safe and comfortable. He showed us some magnificent views, including a beautiful place to watch the sunset over the desert. We have been talking about how much fun we had with this experience all week long since we have got back from our trip. Ben is awesome! Happy Trails Rental as a company is awesome! Absolutely recommend Happy Trails Rentals! We showed up and after a quick safety walk through and gps explication we were off with some AC/DC blasting!Ben was amazing and even went the extra mile to provide a few of our party with jackets to keep warm in the morning. Most of our group had never done anything like this before, because there was 12 of us, we decided on the 60 mile self guided tour. It was the perfect length, everyone got to drive multiple times.Definitely bring lunch, once again Happy Trails had our backs and shared coolers with us, and strapped them into the Rzr’s. Had a ride yesterday for my hubby’s post bday celebration. Ben’s so organized from reservation to giving instruction before the ride. His very meticulous about the details specifically for riders safety. I only bought for 40 trails ride but since we lost for a good 1 & 1/2 we went to 70 trails ride but he never charged me extra not to mention when i called him that we were lost coming back he responded right away & came to get us. Ben and his team were amazing. Emailed pre-registration made the process rental process a breeze. Upon arrival a warm greeting from the team and helmet fittings (which btw I don’t know what they do but were comfortable and smelled unbelievably good, which is a weird thing to say about off-road helmets, but again shows the attention to detail) and than a quick sit down with Ben about the trail and vehicle. The vehicle itself was a 2022 brand new Polaris, amazing drive! He is honest and upfront tells you everything you shouldn’t do, and better yet everything you should do. Let us know were we can really hit the throttle, which areas we could explore and placed exactly on the GPS were we could take a lunch break. I will definitely be returning and enjoying more of the experiences they have to offer. 5-Star service and 5-Star experience.

I am disabled and was looking to join a group of other off roaders since I do not know this area. I have my own vehicle that is rigged with hand controls. Ben offered to let me use one of his GPS systems for free so I could go on the same trails as his customers alone. He would not take any money and was extremely helpful. It was a very scenic tour with some great views of the local rock mountains. The rocks are really cool because you can see and Indian face and a wolf howling. We had 8 guys for my sons bachelor party weekend in Indio and our desert ride on the Razors was definitely the highlight! This was the first time anyone in our group drove a Razor and the experience was nothing short of awesome. What an amazing experience! I would highly recommend this to anyone. We toured around the places that were recommended by Ben. He set us up with all the equipment we would need. His attention to detail not only made our experience the best but he made sure to keep us safe as well. There were some washed out parts of the trail which are navigable at low speeds, but would not be good to just happen upon. Ben has these clearly marked with yellow painted rocks. There are a vast amount trails accessible from their trail head, which is a privately gated area in which you can park your car. The whole area was beautiful and offered many scenic lookouts and there’s even an old abandoned gold mine which was cool to explore! We were told that they are going to be opening up trails for the summer season up in Big Bear starting in May. We can’t wait to come back to do some exploring up in that area as well! Wow, what an incredible experience! I booked the self guided Hercules tour through Happy Trails ATV Rentals and contacted Ben about doing the evening tour. He was happy to help me and provided a wonderful fire pit with all the fixings for s’mores after watching the beautiful sunset! We cruised through the desert, listened to good music and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. It was a blast and I can’t wait to book another tour with them in the future! ATVs were super cool and very clean.Pro tip: pack snacks and drinks! Bring blankets and a sweater during cooler months and make sure you have a solid playlist downloaded so you can still jam out when there is no service.

This is the second time Ive done RZRs in the desert in CA, and Happy Trails Rental is absolutely first class. We had five guys sharing 3 two-seaters and went on the 4-hour Hercules Trail route. The other reviews are spot-on. Ben got us in on short notice same-day, and was able to upgrade us. Very thorough on the machine overview and accommodating with PPE and special requests. We completed the Hercules Highway right at 3 hours. Would loved to have taken longer and made more stops along the way, but it was about 100 degrees and we needed the breeze!There is also surprisingly decent Verizon reception in the area, for those who may want to stay in touch with family.Hope we can visit again in the future.

Outstanding experience taking my 2 sons on the 42 mile loop. I came to the idea last mite and called Monday to ask questions - kind of the 3rd time doing this - and book for Wednesday. Got a call back from Ben shortly after I left my voice mail and Ben answered all my questions, gave me great advice to prepare for the cold winter temperatures - like gloves - and opened the website so I could book that short term. Arrived on time Wednesday and Ben had the ATV ready, he is a great person who loves what he does and that shows. Safety first, awesome briefing on what to do and what not to do to stay safe. The ATVs are equipped with emergency beacons as you will get out of cell coverage and the one we got was like brand new, just a few weeks old.Off we went and besides that my teenager had to borrow my jacket because he was too clever to take his own which meant I was freezing here and there it was just unbelievable. The 42 mile loop is amazing, nature is beautiful, the track has a lot of fun built in and my sons and me just had an unbelievable amazing day.Thank you sooooo much! And see you soon

Exhilarating! Great machines, great owner, great location. The machines are incredible, remarkably smooth and F-A-S-T. The owner was very upbeat and so happy to have us enjoy the desert. The location is very scenic, and you are on the trails within 5 minutes of leaving the launching site.We chose the four hour, 45 mile, Hercules Route via self-guided GPS (there were 30 circuits to select from). Terrain was soft sand, up and down waves, hard flat trails, semi-soft trails, a dry lake bed, a downhill narrow soft-sand wash that seemed like we were skiing, and a rocky mountain saddle (least favorite). Quite a bit of altitude was gained so the vistas were terrific (conveniently at the mid-point). We passed about 6 people the whole day (other than a camper area in the beginning).Really fun for us four 50-somethings on two machines. Self-guided tour means no waiting for others or breathing their dust. Highly highly recommended, location is everything and this place has it.

Happy trails saved our koh 2019 trip. We originally were renting from Ryders sand toys in Rancho Cucamonga, and quickly found out we were renting a pos from a muffler shop. We reached out to ben and by the time we reached the entrance of the hammers, he was there waiting for us with a new 2019 1000 Polaris. Not only was it simple to rent, over the phone on the way to the event, but ben is so ez going and a great spirit all together. Thank you ben you made friends for life. Well see you next year.
