A great public course with good view and wide fairway. Good for intermediate players as the field is mostly flat and you can still find the ball even if it flies left (or right). Golf cart comes with GPS and the paths are well maintained.

The fairway is wide and the course is fun. It was a bit disappointing that there was no snack shop in the middle. The price was not too bad, including the cart. I recommend it to people like me who have been playing golf for a long time or who have just started.

Absolutely loved this course. The back nine is where you want to play. Theres a bridge for you to pass to get to hole #12 which is a great par 5 with a stunning views of the mountains. The driving range is also nice. Highly recommend for players who have the la city golf card.

I only got to hit at the range here. Its a nice range. You dont even have to go into the pro shop because the ball dispenser has a card payment option on it. I would suggest to make reservations if youre a group of more than 2. Walk-ons seem pretty easy to get on if they are single.

One of my favorite courses in the San Fernando valley. Its a long course. Very forgiving. I like that a lot. Wild life here and there. The food is amazing. Golf range is pretty cool. Hitting up the slope tests your distance. I always try to come here. 👍🙌👍

Great la public course! Beginners and veterans alike can enjoy a round here. The fairways are wide but if you miss youll likely be in the trees. Well maintained course especially for a public course. I love playing here.

Good Course! Had some long holes but manageable. Course was decently kept and greens were nice. The fairways were mostly open and wide. Back nine felt like you playing in Palm desert! Pace of play was very good with little waiting. Will play again!

This course is quite easy. The fairways are very wide, and the greens are quite expansive. The greens are not always in the best of conditions, as there are the occasional dirt patches on them. Given that the course is L.A. city Parks and Recreation, that is not something unheard of. The fairways are cut pretty short, so you’ll see a lot of roll out on your drives. The rates here are pretty cheap, so it’s quite worth it. The views into the distance are really nice, with the mountains towering in the sky. The close views are not quite to par. He he, am I right? The dam is very cool though. Anyway, very good value course.

The Hansen Dam Golf Course is a nice quiet place to enjoy yourself. The golf course is well maintained and a good local course. I used to go into the restaurant for good food at a fair price. There is a full bar and I was always happy with my drinks. I did appreciate the peace and quiet just a nice place. Lots of free parking on the paved parking lot.

Called to see if someone turned in my club. Gave them exact details on tee time, what hole I think I lost it at, description of my club. Was told they are not allowed to check and I must come to the golf course to look. I explained I lived far away and it is tough for me to make it out there. I don’t want to waste my time if the club is not there. I was even told to call the pro shop in the morning by a Hansen Dam employee. Ridiculous.

Had family in town and was going to introduce them to the drive range. Called to Confirm hours of operation and was told last balls at 9 and lights off at 10. I arrived at 7:45 and was told they are closed. I informed him I called and was confirmed 9pm, guy there told me I got wrong information but then he confirmed they closed at 9. He said he already shut everything off so to bad. Havent play here yet but with this situation not sure if I want to

I havent golfed in years so only hit the driving range. From what I could see, the course looked nice and well-kept tho.Reasonable price for a large bucket of balls but no tees on the mats. We had to purchase them from the pro shop. I didnt go in so cant comment on prices or selection.We didnt order food so cant comment on that either. The beer was fine :).Overall a nice day and well be returning soon.

I know that I’m playing and paying for a LA City course, I fully understand that membership has gone from 10,000 people to 35,000 but it’s still no excuse for poor customer service and rude unprofessional starters. I’ve always found the starters here to be GRUMPY to say the least. Today’s experience found the need to call in the cart person to help with reservations and while speedy on the computer you would have thought this kid had never spoken to an adult in his life. Rude, inconsiderate, unprofessional. Spend some of that money on training people. You won’t always have this customer base. If I had a choice I wouldn’t spend my money here because they are rude. Pay the extra money for a professional environment

Where my PGA tour aspirations came to never be. Maybe LIV will pick me up once they notice how I blow up a Par 3 into and 11. In all seriousness. One of the best layouts in the SFV. I started to golf here a little over a year ago and wish i was still able to hit it up early for the back 9. Tee boxes can be hit or miss sometimes but greens and fairways are always cleaned up nicely. PACKED!!! Usually hard to find a booking.

This golf course is owned by the city and the prices are very reasonable and there is plenty of parking. However its often slow and there are a lot of people ahead of you. Sometimes there are people who are beginners who maybe should have taken some lessons and should not be playing yet. Not only are they slowing the entire groups but when take 8 or more swings on just about every hole it really messes up the Rhythm and the pace of all the golfers. On that particular day those know Marshall to move the play ahead. Hopefully it can move faster the next time I play there.

Pretty fun course has some great holes to drive on and some par 3s that are real good fun. Watch out for that hole with the giant hill. Greens were ok. Bring water beer and your own sandwich haha.

Took my elderly client here as we continue our search for the perfect course for him. I’ve driven by Hansen Dam thousands of times over the years, but have never stopped here. The prices are fair compared to the other places we’ve gone, and it’s not a far drive from his home. No complaints here.

Clean plenty of parking spaces many different picnic areas big big spaces to run on foot by horse on bikes or just to enjoy beautiful view of the cities around. Great to celebrate birthdays at the kids area and in summer take all your kids to the water lake or fishing lake or just for quite afternoon. You choose. Some of the employees here provide the worst customer service. The employees are extremely disrespectful and rude. I was on my first hole and did one practice swing and was about to hit the ball, but an employee came and commented with a rude attitude that Im taking too long. As I played through the course, me and my party members realized that we were taking a bit of time, so weve decided to be considerate for the players behind us and skipped three holes ahead. We were on the green on the ninth hole when a different employee came up to us and asked us if we were going to continue onto the second half of the golf course. Realizing that our pace was slow and further playing would cause inconvenience to the players behind us, we said we were going to play two more and just leave. We made it to the ninth hole in a little over 2 hours and the employee was telling us that we are taking too long. We were walking through the golf course as well. Upon hearing this, the employee respectfully told us to pick up the ball and go to the tenth hole right away. I get that playing in golf courses have to be fast pace and am totally aware that it was our fault for being slow; however, what angered me the most was the employees attitudes towards us. Totally would not recommend going here.

Great wide open course for beginners and intermediate players. During the summer it gets very hot (obviously because of the location) and I have noticed that slows down many players. Be prepared for 5-6+ hours for all 18 holes. I personally liked going after 5pm and during the peak of summer you can get in 10 holes for about $12.There is no snack/ beer cart and no marshal to regulate play.

This is a very nice island of peace, and green in the middle of a neighborhood that can be a little less colorful. You can golf, practice your swing, and have lunch in the dining area. You wont run into Tiger Woods here, but you will find a lot of great golf passion here.

For a City operated course, this is above average. The fairways are pretty wide. You can afford to put a bit more muscle into your drives. Unless you totally slice or hook it, it will be playable. Some of the par 4s and par 5s are pretty long. In my opinion, there were some par 4s that should have been par 5s. Its a good clean and affordable place to hone your skills.

The golf course itself is pretty good. However, the workers there are the worst out of all the other golf courses I have been to. They are so rude, careless, and unfriendly. They almost made me pay much more than it should be and they seem like they dont know what they are doing. They even forced us to pick up the balls and move on to the next hole in the middle of the play. We took a little more than 2 hours to complete 9 holes which is not that fast but not too slow either considering we had 4 some and were walking. When I argued with him that we are going to let people behind us to go ahead of us after this hole, they kept saying the average play time for 18 holes is 3 hours, which I think is impossible with 4 people walking. And even if it was 3 hours, they didnt have to be that rude to force us stop the game. I feel like the fact that we were all juniors made them look down on us. If you are a junior, I recommend you to come with an adult, but if you have to go with all juniors, just be ready for the rude attitudes and ignore them so you can just focus on golfing.

Garbage. Spend the extra $20 and go to Angeles national, industry hills, or rustic canyon. If you’re a 12 or below handicap you’ll find these greens laughable. Extremely inconsistent from green to green and they are in horrible shape. Skill won’t make your birdie putt drop, it’ll be pure luck after it hops and skips left to right. The bunkers? Give me a break. Don’t try to hit a real bunker shot, just hard chip out of them. The etched outline of the green is embarrassing. The “fringe” starts at the etching line and is at a 45 degree angle to the green. This course is very friendly to total hackers as you won’t lose many balls, but it’s not in good shape by any means. If you’re serious about being a good golfer you should go spend a few more bucks on a course that will punish a bad round more, but will also reward your quality play.

This is a traditional Park-Style golf course. It has a fair amount of trees and the greens are pretty flat and wide. It is better than the average LA-Muni course; it is long and fairly wide open. Bunkers located around the greens, dog legs and elevation changes cause some good risk-reward situations. The rough was not very long so errant shots where not very hard to overcome. The greens were lumpy and slow, but pretty average for a muni. Tee box set-up allowed for our group with a mix of abilities to play competitively, but long hitters had a distinct advantage, especially on the back 9. It was very busy, but for the $30 twilight price I thought it was a good value. Im not going to go out of the way to play it again, but for locals, people out to have fun or learn, and those that are looking for value, Hansen Dam would fit the bill.

I had a 6:15 tee time. People were rude, rushed me out just after 6 barking orders at me like I am a dog.By 9:00 am, well in to the 80s and no cold water anywhere. Looks like a nice bar and little restaurant, but locked up. I guess no one to work it or something. Finally finished at 10:15 and still no water or anywhere to buy anything. Golf shop and restaurant \ bar still locked up.Tip, spend 5$ more and go to a real golf course that could give you a cold drink of water or sell you a cold soda. Ranchers treat their cows better than this golf course treats its golfers.
