Corner coffee shop on Alameda - plain and bland interior with minimal indoor seating. No public bathrooms. Service was okay - I asked for a small and he gave me a regular though. There were only two pastries available - a croissant and a cupcake.Food is actually great! The breakfast sandwiches we ordered were great tasting, good whole ingredients, and not soggy. Our sandwiches came with a mini red velvet cupcake too.The coffee though…. Way too sweet. My latte was disgustingly sweet I couldn’t even drink 25% of it. The chai was basically just a cup of milk and you couldn’t taste the spice.Items Ordered: Iced vanilla latte with cinnamon, iced chai tea latte, green eggs and ham breakfast sandwich, chicken pesto panini.

Im not sure what happened to this coffeeshop because under new management the food and experience was subpar compared to the last time I visited. Upon entering, the placed looked quite drabby. There were no cupcakes and the pastries looked very old because of the cloudiness of the glass display. I ordered a frozen hot chocolate for my kids, and a latte and avocado toast for myself and all 3 items were very disappointing. The frozen hot chocolate was impossible to drink because the ice wasnt blended properly - the ice was about half an inch big - Ive never seen or experienced this anywhere else. Neither of my kids were able to drink it with a straw. I spoke to the woman working there and she said she cant do anything about it - I explained that I didnt and wouldnt know how large the ice was until I tasted and she just stared at me like Im an alien. Then I opened the avocado toast and the lettuce was rotting in spots and wilted. I would not recommend this coffeeshop.

This corner coffee shop along the Alameda heading into central San Jose is a pleasant place to stop and enjoy a latte and one of their tasty breakfast sandwiches. While small, the place has a pleasant ambience and has a modern art deco influence in its presentation. The staff is always friendly and there is a nice camaraderie among them as they really seem to enjoy working together.

Great coffee and sandwiches!Unfortunately they dont have a customer restroom available due to the building being built & designed predating the 2004 requirement. Hopefully they can find a solution thats not telling customer to use the restroom at Whole Foods which may or may not be available.(Updated to reflect owner reply)

Charming and cozy coffee shop along the Alameda near the arena. Extremely friendly staff. Place is small and fills up quickly, but orders are delivered relatively fast. A nice neighborhood establishment thats helping to shape the downtown character.Food is delicious. Well be returning frequently.

It would be great if you guys could be consistent with your store policies rather than whatever the person working at the time is feeling.I walked 2 miles to pick up my coffee with my dog because your shift manager specifically said its ok to pick up orders with one.Then I come this morning and they expect me to tie an 8 month puppy to a post outside on the Alameda main street. Are you serious? If Im telling you that your other employee said its okay, you couldnt just let me pick my order this one time which by the way took a total of 10 seconds.Literally never coming back here. And by the way, if you are going to change your dog policy without telling people, the least you can do is open your side door and put the dog post there instead of on a main street with fast cars zooming by.

I would give 6 stars if I could. They use fresh high quality ingredients and everything is delicious. I had The Green Eggs and Ham sandwich and my partner had a Mr Sunshine. You get to choose your bread, and it comes with a side of a tangerine, a fig bar, chips, or a salad (for an extra dollar). Also they gave us two free mini cupcakes. I think they came with the sandwiches but I didn’t know that so it was a pleasant surprise. Overall the food was of great value. I also got a medium cold brew and my partner got a medium salted caramel latte. Both were very good and not too expensive. Highly recommend coming here for breakfast or lunch!

Best coffee Ive had so far, Ive been to plenty of coffee shops and this is one of the few where I want to try every item on the menu. The A-A-Ron is delicious, definitely a must have. The coffee here is stronger than most places, and solid veggie sandwiches

I recently visited Hannah Coffee with high hopes for a satisfying latte experience, but unfortunately, my expectations fell short. The latte I ordered left much to be desired, as it lacked the distinct coffee flavor I was anticipating. Instead, it tasted more like a milk drink with a hint of coffee essence. For a coffee shop that prides itself on its beverages, this was quite disappointing. While the ambiance and service were decent, the lack of a prominent coffee taste in my latte overshadowed the positives. I was hoping for a more robust and flavorful coffee experience, but it just didnt deliver.

I only recently discovered this place. I had when I can only describe, is one of the most thoughtful breakfast sandwiches in recent memory. I was a little bummed out because there was a blueberry cheese danish that I wanted but the delivery had not yet been made, and they didn’t have them yet…and I couldn’t hang around and wait. grabbed my food… grabbed my coffee… got on the train… And what do I find inside my bag? The blueberry cheese danish! It was put in the bag as a surprise. Totally made my day.

Like this place, I go there pretty often. My favorite is the salted caramel latte, however the taste is not consistent, a couple of times it was a bit watery. Also the wait time could be very long from 10am to 12pm, there were times i waited for 20+ mins.

My friends and I waited an hour and a half to get our 3 bagel orders and 3 coffees. They forgot about our coffee order 30 minutes into waiting and we had to remind them. We waited as everyone else was served and were told they were understaffed even though we saw 4 associates behind the counter. At some point we were the only ones remaining except for one more table who had come after us and were served, and it still took another 40 min for our order to come out. It took this long even though we had expressed several times we were waiting and were constantly told 5 more minutes.When we finally did get our food order, I realized that one of the orders was wrong when we got home. It was supposed to be a simple caprese avocado bagel and they had forgotten the pesto and the bagel was stale and untoasted. ~$16 for this!The owner did give us a 50% off coupon on our next order but there is no way we are coming back. Terrible food and terrible service for an overpriced product.

A cute place and friendly service. Ordered an espresso and lox bagel. Espresso was good, would be nice if you got a choice for the coffee beans.The lox is where it fell short. A bit heavy on the cream cheese and the smoked salmon was a bit too salty for me. If you were to add red onion, I am sure it would have balanced the saltiness.Will be back though to try the other things on the menu!

Really convenient location in the Alameda and friendly, helpful staff. My decaf Americano was fresh and flavorful and the accompanying treat that I got was different from anything that I’ve had before which was a nice surprise! It was the almond danish I believe and warmed up tasted incredible. Plenty of seating both inside and outside!

I think there was a change in ownership/management.I used to go to Hannah’s for a quick and hearty breakfast. Bagels were a go-to. But I can tell the new management is skimping on ingredients and really makes me question why I should pay $5 for a store bought bagel with a thin sliver of cream cheese. I get bagels at a shop to get a guilty schmear of cream cheese, not to be nickel and dimed with a delicate little children’s serving. The bagel is basically toast in the shape of the bagel, and they didnt even slice the bagel evenly. Fennel is overpowering the flavor and yes I’m probably more upset than I should be over a bagel but regardless I won’t be back and it breaks my heart to see one of my local favorites turn to this.

The coffee, food, and service were all excellent! They offer a light and dark roast of coffee, I chose the light roast and it was great. I also had the Green Eggs & Ham sandwich which was made fresh to order and very delicious. As a cute touch they also gave me and other customers mini cupcakes for free. Coffee isnt great, this is certainly no artisan shop (in an area filled with them), but it looks nice and will do the job if you order sugary stuff. Decor is a little too house wife tacky for my tastes. Bad, overused fonts of all sorts of varieties everywhere - but thats my inner graphic designer talking.Their food is pretty decent, though expensive considering a lot of it is clearly ingredients/bread/etc sourced from the grocery store. The sweets are hit and miss. Croissants arent the real deal, closer to the crescent roll stuff you get a Starbucks. I enjoyed some of the danishes when I tried them.The biggest thing going for this place is the lack of competition in the area for a simple cafe that serves food, and I like the size. They also have good service, plus if you order a sandwich you do get a small treat plus a salad, so its not a terrible value.

Whenever Im in the area, Hannah is a go to spot. The staff are welcoming and create a great vibe in the place. The drinks are spot on and very value priced. Ive tried several of the pastries with zero regret. Maybe a little regret for dietary reasons :-) There is comfortable seating both inside and outside. Ive always been there off hours from the other businesses in the area so parking has been easy. If I was eating or working in the area, its a definite walk to place for my coffee.

Their Green Eggs and Ham breakfast sandwich is a absolute standout. The mini red velvet cupcakes are delicious! The full size cupcakes are drier but maybe thats my personal preference on the cream cheese to cupcake ratio. I have tried multiple types of lattes and all have tasted like mildly flavored milk, which is hard to forgive for a coffee shop and knocks off a star. The service is friendly. Cute neighborhood atmosphere. Overall an asset to this street corner.

I tried Hannah coffee out from a recommendation so decided to try several items. I’m a big fan of coffee and I really enjoyed it all. I tried the seasonal hot pumpkin spice latte, which was flavorful, but not overly sweet. It’s definitely the best pumpkin latte I’ve had in a really long time. I picked up the molasses cookie, which soft and buttery. The pumpkin spice bread is awesome. It was fresh and soft, with great flavor and topped with pecans and pumpkin seeds… so good.. I could eat a whole loaf! Lastly, I tried a turkey cranberry sandwich. The sandwich was made fresh to order and was a good portion. I’ll definitely try a breakfast sandwich next time! Long story short, this is a great spot and I’ll be back! :)

This small independent coffee shop is at the end of my block—just a very short walk away. This is a new experience for me, and I’ve been several times. The coffee is good, they have great food (including beautiful pastries made on-site), and they know me by name now!I love getting breakfast and coffee here, and especially when I find a surprise cupcake in the bag with my bagel sandwich.

I have been a frequent visitor here ever since we moved here several months ago. My husband and I both enjoy coming here for breakfast. Their sandwiches and drinks are delicious. I love their cupcakes. Possibly too much.We had Hannah create our baby shower cake and it was not only beautiful but equally tasty. The staff are always positive and friendly. I love how they have dog biscuits and seating for my furry friend. Its a great community asset.

Coffee is good mocha and lattes and a nice small place to sit and drink. The food is expensive in comparison to other cafes in the area. A breakfast wrap is about $15, a bagel sandwich $7-$10 bucks. So two coffees and two breakfast items will run $25-$30 also a mini cupcake is $4 super small cake little bigger and a mini cupcake is $8. I understand it is expensive to run a business but that is really pushing it. Ill stick with the coffee unless those prices get out of control as well.

Hannah was really going downhill for a while - every time we’d go it would take nearly 20 minutes to get our coffee and 20-30 minutes to get food. I always felt like we had to apologize when we ordered because the staff seemed so stressed out and like they really were having a terrible time. They closed for a while and brought in all new staff and my GOD i’m glad they did. Now when we go to grab coffee the vibe is SO different. No one is getting yelled at or is yelling at staff… no one forgets to make our drinks after waiting for 20 minutes… no one makes me feel like I have to apologize for being there. The food and drink quality has gone up as well, not just the service. I’m really glad the owner saw what was happening and changed it for the better! Glad to have an old classic back to the way it should be.

I recently got a new gig around the area so ive been looking for a breakfast place. I decided to try out Hannah Coffee this morning. The location is small, very nice and cozy inside, but easily squeezed if the place had more than 7 people at once. The service was great. I was greeted promptly and the gal at the counter was very sweet. The menu was limited, in my opinion, so i decided to try Rays Sandwich. I had a (medium, i think?) coffee to go with that. The quality of food is very good. It was made in a timely manner and they included some chips and a nice little velvet cupcake which was actually really good. I was a little price shocked when the total came out to be $17 . I guess i might be old school, but a breakfast croissant most elsewhere is around $5-$8. Overall its a good place for breakfast, tho the serving was rather small considering the price. But i get it, inflation and so forth. I suggest you try it and see for yourself, you wont be disappointed but your wallet may be.

So disorganized and a waste of time/money. Pastries were decent but thats also because keep in mind they gave us the wrong ones. Coffee order was atrocious... 4 iced drinks and 1 hot. Wait for drinks was 25min and after watching subsequent orders being handed out, I had to inquire if they were wrapping up our order. Then they gave us 4 iced drinks and forgot the hot one (had to go back in for that one). And of the 4 iced drinks - 2 were wrong (double shot instead of the quad I asked/paid for) and one iced drink was just totally wrong outright.Wanted to support local small business but this was an outright FAIL. Hire and train better employees. Going to Peets tomorrow am.

I got a pumpkin latte there was one barista that asked me what I wanted, and then sort of ignored me after and then another barista helped me get my order. The latte was OK not the greatest. Also, I got a regular sized cup and only half of it was filled with an actual drink. The rest was filled with foam. It’s a very cute spot, but I probably won’t be going back. My recommendation for the company is to please deliver on your advertised cup sizes… filling a drink with foam does not count (foam was not advertised as being part of the drink).

They would not accept my own personal cup and fill it with my hot beverage. (Claim its because of Covid, but 95% of the cafes I have visited fill up my cup.) This place is sort of hit and miss, especially for lattes. The first couple times I went, the lattes were delicious. But Ive been back a few more times since, and the espresso is bitter and burnt tasting. Maybe it depends on whos making it? An amazing local coffee place in San Jose which isnt exactly known for amazing locally owned shops so this place is a gem!! The pastries are delicious, so are the breakfast wraps and sandwiches. This is one my favorite to go to coffee shops. Theyre lattes are amazing! My favorite is the salted caramel latte. Before COVID, they would serve the lattes in a mug and they have some art on top. When you get a sandwich meal they pair it with this cute mini red velvet cupcake. Nice detail on their end.

Great shop with delicious food!Only comment, did not enforce mask mandate when I was there. Customer was standing around without mask, worker passed him a couple times and he picked up his food from the counter with another worker wishing him a great day. “Mask required” is posted all over the shop, perhaps workers can remind customers.

Very cute on the inside, the staff were sweet, and answered a lot of our questions. What brought me to this location was the diverse foam art for the lattes however when I went with my two friends we all got the same bear/cat kind of kind. Was looking forward to more diversity but the coffee was good.

Cute latte and art and great breakfast! I had a cappuccino and Joes breakfast which included meats, cheese, onion, and egg in a English muffin(my choice). The combination of everything was fantastic. I also chose the mini orange as the side and it even came with a super tasty mini cupcake! Who ever heard of a full course breakfast?! Im also a bit of a coffee freak and their everything to do with espresso drinks is very expertly done!

The wet cappuccino was NOT very good! I couldnt taste the coffee!?! It was water down. Others have said the coffee is great tasting! I dont know about that!? Maybe, the drip and cold brews are great, but the espresso needs work. The cupcakes look good, but I didnt try them. The breakfast menu looks good, too, but I didnt try it. Overall, the cafe looks clean, the music is jazzy, and the folks behind the counter are nice. Work on the espresso HannaH!

I come here very often and its great. The staff is awesome, the food is awesome, there are usually dogs around and there is always space to park closebyEdit: I stopped coming there because there no longer is bathroom access. This is a deal breaker for me because I cant drive with my hands dirty. The wipes you provide are disinfecting wipes, not degreasers.Also, Im happy for the business that grew so much, but its pretty crowded.

Pretty mediocre experience. The cold brew was somewhat bitter, but the drip coffee is ok. Baristas were verging on rude with not allowing us to sample the drip, telling my sister she had to pay before going to the bathroom (even though I was paying and still ordering my drinks), giving me attitude during my whole order, then just keeping my sister’s drink behind the counter without giving it to her. I think this place is probably great for pastries, but I won’t be going back.

The coffee here is not quality coffee. Alternative milks are Kirkland brand (Costco). I’m not sure why they are putting in such little effort. With such prime real estate, they could have a line out the door like Academic or Devout does. I sadly tossed my tasteless $6 cappuccino, it wasn’t drinkable.

Got a raspberry danish and a creme brûlée matcha latte. The danish was pretty good, but the matcha latte was just pathetic. Almost all if not all of the matcha powder was at the bottom, unmixed into the drink. It basically tasted like milk with the hint of matcha. For $5.50 for a medium I honestly expected the power to be at least mixed in a little. I’d go here for the pastries again, just not the tea.

Strawberry vanilla cake cup is awesome. The other dishes on menu which I have tried and liked are Veggie on Hummus and Veggie starter. I took away one star just because they do not have a variety of chicken sandwiches in their menu. That worked for me because I prefer vegetarian food whenever possible. Customer service is extremely slow with online orders. We had at least 4 people walk in after waiting for over 15 minutes and receive their orders before us. This has happened on multiple occasions. Bought a pecan pie yesterday from Hannah coffee and sweets and the service was great! She even saw that I came in with my son and gave us two free samples of what the pie will taste like for today. When we tried the samples, the pie just melted in your mouth and the pecans were the perfect kind of crunch! SERVICE - I have received good and bad service at Hannah. TO THE MANAGER: please know unfriendly employees who don’t understand that you are in a service industry do hurt your business! As a customer I expect to be met with kindness and attention. Can’t say I have always received that here, so I won’t be back, which is sad, because generally speaking, I really like supporting local businesses. Also, if you’re looking for a knowledgeable barista - which is usually typical in a local coffee shop, you won’t find him/her here either. They serve coffee but little knowledge about the drinks they offer.

Three words - Raspberry Cheese Danish!!My husband and I used to like in the apartments behind Hannahs so we frequented this coffee shop. I dont like pastries but I almost always get a raspberry cheese danish from Hannahs. Hannah is one of my go-to place for cute latte arts and pretty cupcakes!The staff is quite friendly and didnt mind that I requested a Totoro art for my latte. Depending on how busy they are they sometimes dont do request from what I remember. As I started to give my order she started a conversation with the Barista then asked me what I would like to order.
