I absolutely love this place. Everything about it.The incredible views to the staff,and of course, the exceptional wine. My family and I visited twice this year. Wine was shipped in a very speedy manner and arrived safely in Hawaii. Thanks again for another great experience

Of the 15 wineries we visited on our trip, this was our favorite. From initial impression and customer experience to overall taste of the wine- superb. Our guide/ambassador, Robert, was fabulous and gave us a great tour of the property. Based on what we tasted on our trip, Hamel is something special and not to be missed.

One of my all time favorite wineries in the wine country, and I’ve probably been to 30-40 wineries over the years. The wine is OUTSTANDING, the property breathtaking, the tasting room very tastefully decorated, and lastly the service warm & welcoming. Not a single thing I don’t like!We’ve been here twice and did the estate experience first and reserve experience second. The estate experience was a very good way to get to know the range of wines this winery offers, and they offered some small bites. The reserve experience with food was very good - the food was almost at Michelin level and the four red wines they offer were simply exquisite. However, the food was too small portioned to be a meal. The range of wines were also way more expensive. If I could only choose 1, I would start off with the estate experience.The Pamelita wine is probably my all-time favorite red wine. The first time I drank it I thought I went to heaven. Just so delicious. This is a winery we’ll go back to!

We booked the food and wine experience. We were seated in a private room. Had a splash of white and a small bite. Then a cave tour. Then back to the room for 4 bites and 4 reds. Bites were good size. I wouldnt call it lunch but we were all full at the end. Food and wine were really good and overall it was a good unique experience. The experience was $150 plus a requirement to purchase a bottle. We felt like that was fair given the quality of the food and the wine. Property was beautiful.

We did a family tour for 6 of the Hamel Family vineyard/cave and a tasting, all guided by our estate ambassador James R. James was EXTREMELY knowledgeable as well as friendly and inviting. James answered all of our questions and made sure we were having a great time every step of the way. The location is beautiful, the property was pristine and the views are indescribable. Definitely a must stop if youre ever in Sonoma!

My husband and I enjoyed our private tour at Hamel estate this past week. Marty, our host, was very knowledgeable and did a great job educating us on the process of wine making. We loved that we were able to even see the team in action. The wines were fantastic, their reserve Sauvignon Blanc really stole the show. Probably the best wine we had taste during the entire trip. Tasting comes with in-house made ricotta cheese and homemade crackers which were just as fantastic as the wine. Wish we lived closer, we’d definitely join the wine club.

Amazing!! Private tour and wine tasting with the most beautiful view. I’ve been to a lot of wineries in the area and this is by far the best. The snacks and wine were amazing and the service was outstanding (thank you Marty for chatting with us and for all the recommendations!) They made our anniversary so special and we will definitely be back soon!

As a Badger alum, I have to say this is a must for the bucket list. The intentionality and passion for great wine shines. Marty, our host, played equal parts educator and guide through our wonderful tasting experience. Dont waste your time on other big name places that churn you out like mass produced cheese curds (you know what I mean). At Hamel my wife and I truly felt special, and learned so much! Its an experience thats difficult to find elsewhere. The wine was tremendously delicious, the food was phenomenal, and the estate itself was idyllic. We ended up joining the wine club, but never felt pressured to do so. We actually brought it up because we wanted to be a part of an amazing place. Best visit on our vacation by far. We have been active drinkers of their wine and members of Hamel for many years. The wine is fantastic but what I want to speak to is the food. The reserve experience is bar-non the best wine tasting experience in either valley. It consists of a 4 course sit down in their ridiculous library setting. The library is a massive room overlooking the Glen Ellen part of Sonoma Valley as well as Sonoma Mountain. We have had the experience several times over many years. The quality of food has been on par with The Restaurant at Meadowood (bummer its gone) and consistently better than French Laundry. Our menu yesterday was sublime and included a ravioli made with house made ricotta as well as the best lamb dish I have experienced anywhere (picture) and a wonderful steak dish.

The location is 5 stars, the service is 5 stars, but the price for the quality takes this down to a 3. While the events are high end, the wine does not flow. Was expecting much more for such a beautiful place.

Hamel Family Wines, you did it. Absolutely incredible tasting experience in every sense. The tasting room was chic, inviting, and comfortable. Zakk, our ambassador, was knowledgeable, incredibly friendly, and intriguing. There were personal touches. There were snacks. There were beautiful landscapes. Don’t skip out on this - the best I’ve been to in both Napa and Sonoma.

My wife and I went in to inquire about the memberships. We were interested in the events like the Badger Hour, the supper club, etc. that we had seen on the website. We were greeted by an older woman who basically told us they dont do anything like that. She said they were exclusively for wine and never did events. Then told us, you can see by the price of the wines, we are a higher end winery. It felt very insinuating.The grounds and inside were beautiful but we didnt care for the way we were treated so we crossed it off our list.

Beautiful estate and views but did not ask for consent before pouring a dry tasting which significantly added to the cost. Do not recommend booking in advance if you want to avoid being overserved or overcharged. $35 for a dry tasting which we enjoyed a half glass of sparkling water. Wine is fantastic but come prepared to participate in the full tasting.

This was our 2nd time here and yikes. Its a beautiful building and vineyard and the wine is good. We were running 10 minutes late for a 3:00 tasting (traffic issue) so two of our wines were already poured in our glasses and waiting. We were probably greeted but I needed to use the restroom so I was not as our server pours then leaves after pouring. When he did return to pour again, I mentioned that there wasnt a lot of information about the winery on the website and he replied I know and finished pouring and left again. He obviously got off at 4 and didnt want to discuss the wine. The tasting fee is expensive, as is the wine. We purchased 2 bottles, $350 total plus $85 each for tasting... we were told the wine would offset the tasting fee but that didnt happen. Last trip to HFW :o(

Amazing wine at an amazing location. The wine is well priced for how good it is. The tasting room is beautiful, I wish we had scheduled extra time at the winery. They have rental houses available who want to stay on property.

I can’t say enough about what an enjoyable experience it was visiting Hamel. Absolutely beautiful architecture and design - as if Frank Lloyd Wright owned a vineyard. Hamels wines were excellent, and Kirsten was an absolutely fantastic host providing us with amazing service, deep background and knowledge on the vineyard and wine, and gave us some great laughs along the way. The attention to detail paid to the entire customer journey is impressive. Highly recommended.

One of the most beautiful vineyards of our entire Napa and Sonoma trip. The views and architecture are stunning, and the staff is warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. Loved the tour and caves. And then the wines - loved them all. So happy we had the opportunity to visit Hamel Family Wines and looking forward to returning on future trips.

Our tour was amazing! Our guide, Eric, is from Michigan and being from MN this was a nice touch of home. He was super knowledgeable and was always so willing to answer any questions we had. He also made sure we could ship the wine we wanted to purchase and let us enjoy a glass of the rose to celebrate our wedding anniversary.The ricotta that comes with the tasting is amazing! I normally do not like ricotta but this is a different take on the traditional cheese you think of at the grocery store. It eats more like a burrata and the homemade crackers that accompany it is also wonderful.I cannot recommend this place enough!

We visited this winery for the first time a couple of years ago and are huge fans. Our first visit was magical and amazing. The wine was amazing the location was beautiful and the cheese and crackers they just whipped up were out of this world. I would say we are major foodies - our trip was finished with a dinner at the three Michelin Star Atelier Crenn so i dont make these comments lightly.Then a few weeks ago we did a virtually wine tasting and again the wine was amazing!In both cases Eric was our guide through the tasting and he is just lovely, knowledgable, approachable and thorough (although it was hard to get us under control because we were having just a little bit too much fun).We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing out of the ordinary but approachable experience!

A few months ago, I booked a private winery experience with of Bohemian Highway Travel Company. We had the pleasure of being hosted by Zakk and can’t say enough about how great he was during our stop at Hamel Family Wines.Zakk was there to help and assist as I ultimately proposed to my girlfriend - now fiancé on the beautiful property with an unforgettable view.Everything about Hamel Family Wines was exceptional. We certainly won’t forget the phenomenal time and experience we had during our time on the property. We left feeling like part of the Hamel Family. My wife and I visited Hamel on a recent trip to Sonoma and had a spectacular experience! Hamel has thought through every detail of their tasting and tour and we loved how personalized and insightful the tasting was. Hamel is the perfect example of why you should visit family owned winery and not just visit the big boys, plus you may discover a new wine such as the delicious Hamel Zinfandel. If we could have a love affair with wine and the vineyard it comes from, it would be here! Hands down this was our best experience this trip. The vineyard is breathtaking, the architecture of the building stunning, and the caves are incredible. We could have spent the whole day there. Every detail was contemplated and intentional. And the wine... each wine was better than the next, all were incredible. Eric took us around and was amazing- he was welcoming, knowledgeable and treated us like a friend of the family! We loved it so much that we joined the Club and can’t wait for our shipment.On this trip, we visited Terra Valentine (members) Pride, Caymus, Repris, Hudson Ranch and Falcor. All were absolutely great!

We just love this place so much. The attention to details and the entire staff making you feel like your experience and time at the estate is their most important part of the job. A truly world class winery. Scenic, tasteful, and a staff that makes you feel like family as soon as you walk in.
