One of my favorite trails for hiking yet I havent memorized the trail names. It rained last night and the trail was still open today which was nice but some areas were very muddy. Apparently there are coyotes and definitely mosquitoes and flies in certain areas. Theres very limited parking at the preserve entrance but theres plenty of parking along the school though also limited so get here early! Great views at the top of the trails and some areas feature luscious green growth. There are sometimes birds overhead and you can hear power lines buzzing above. Theres a porta-potty bathroom at the entrance as well as WHEELCHAIR ACCESS.

Nice trail. The entrance is well kept and clean. There is a small parking area available close to the entrance at Seventh.

Dope hike. Numerous trails and a good variety to them. Coyote trail is basically a stairmaster with gorgeous views. Watch out for snakes though!! Also theres a parking lot but theres not much to it, most likely youll be parking in the street. Small price to pay though, this is a solid hike.

This is my to-go-to trail early in the morning I normally take the Coyote Trail up to Skyline Drive until reaching the Water Tower that’s my turning point. It’s a moderate trail but you definitely get your sweat going, after walking down the steep hill from the water tower I jog through Ahwingna Trail all the way until reaching 7th street. This circuit is 3.78mi I do want to try the other trails in Hacienda hills for an extra mile or two, you still have Puma trail, Native Oak Trail and thats just from this side of town there are other four trails that connect from Whittier too! It’s your pick and choose. These trails are kid friendly, some trails mountain bike accesible as well as horseback riding. The natural habitat really helps disconnecting you from everything and anything down back in the city, really helpful nowadays with so much going on, very thankful to have these hills. Elevation is about 1,161ft, depending on the season you’ll be seeing wildflowers there is poison Ivy you got to watch out for, also being a natural habitat there’s mountain lions (which i’ve yet to encounter), deer (I’ve seen), coyotes, rattle snakes(nearly stepped on one!) just always be aware of tour surroundings at all time. But the views in a clear weather are the ones to breathe in and be thankful for. Blessings and just get out there and enjoy these trails!

Cool spot to start on the other side of turnbull cayon. Parking space is really limited i believe its like 2 regular and one handicap space. If you want a quick hike you can go up and back down Its like 2 1/2 miles.

Here is a good hiking route, just compare the sun, there will be a snake in the summer, be careful. At the gate of the park, the door opened at 9 am, we had to enter from another place.

Not sure if this is privately owned or not. Puma/Native Oak is not maintained at all. do NOT hike the Puma/Native Oak side.1/ the weeds are overgrown. unless you plan to have a machete with you, it will not be an easy hike.2/ signs are poorly planned on this loop.other than that, stick with ahwingna/coyote trail to enjoy the view and canyon breeze.

I really liked this trail. Yeah, there are some dog droppings but you just deal with them accordingly. I liked the Puma trail because it has plenty of shade. Coyote trail is a good leg warmer.
