I had a great experience getting a new pair of glasses @ Goleta Valley Optical recently. I was confused about exactly what I needed, and Jacqueline gently & patiently guided me through the process until we found the perfect frame & lens!! She also knew exactly how much my insurance would pay, so that I knew what my budget was. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a non-rushed, professional & caring experience getting glasses.

I have been a customer for almost 20 years. The staff members are wonderful to work with. They are knowledgeable, professional and helpful. They also have a sizeable staff available so wait times are not a concern. Ive had glasses from many places yet the ones from Goleta Valley Optical always seem to have the best lens cut. The woman at Goleta Valley Optical was incredibly helpful, professional and kind. It was peaceful (huge contrast to Costco, where I got my first pair of glasses) and she gave me one-on-one attention, guiding me, not at all pushy, and explained everything well. The selection of frames was excellent (honestly, a bit overwhelming to me) but she listened to what I needed in new glasses and pulled a half dozen different frames for me to try. The whole store is clean, neat, organized and the customer service is exceptional. I highly recommend Goleta Valley Optical (now in the Turnpike Center).I went later to have an adjustment on the reading bifocal, and a young man helped me. Very professional, helpful, kind. GV Optical is superb!

Damaged glasses and needed new pair within 48 hours. Showed up right before store closing desperate for help. Staff immediately went to work. Found my exact 2 year old frames and made new lenses. So far, so good. I walked in and was greeted immediately, although both people had other customers. Once they were finished, I was helped efficiently and in a very friendly manner. Professional and exactly what one would expect. Now Im waiting for my glasses which Im told will b e 7-8 business days. Hope it all goes as smoothly as the first party of my visit.

These guys and gals are the best!I brought in a 30 year old pair of Ray Bans that my dad used to wear and they were able to switch out the lenses for new polarized ones and even tinted them to match the classic green Ray Ban lens color. I am so stoked!Thank you GVO

I did some “virtual try ons” from home and deleted a couple of frames. When I got to the store I was told my insurance didn’t cover those, so Jonathan showed me my options. He was able to help me select a similar style that was of a higher quality that actually cost less after my insurance contribution. The estimate was explained to me clearly. I specified one thing that I wanted and he said “no problem!” I’ll be picking up my new glasses in a couple of weeks!

First time going to Goleta Valley Optical and the gentleman was very very helpful and patient. Since school is around the corner, we needed the glasses asap. I managed to pay for my sons glasses to arrive sooner and he mentioned to still order glasses with my sons insurance so he can have a second pair but know those will arrive at a much much later time. If he wouldnt have mentioned that. It would have been one pair my son got not knowing my option when we were in a hurry. Sometimes when your in a hurry, you dont have time to process your options but good thing he mentioned it.

The staff is kind and they are busy, but I HAVE to give them 1 star do to product quality and while trying to replace broken frames they insisted I had to pay $50 for my new frames. I purchased 2 different frames and the first one broke immediately and I showed them the lenses were perfect condition and they agreed, but couldnt replace them without me paying again. The $50 replacement is still good, but the 2nd pair recently broke like the 1st. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE!! Go online or to Costco for a better deal and better product quality. Learn from my mistake. Nice employees mean nothing when they cant help you.

GVO has been a staple of the Santa Barbara community for as long as I can remember. I get my glasses there every year and am consistently impressed with both the selection and attentive customer service. They’re always able to find the perfect glasses to fit my face, even with my high prescription, and the prices are better than I’ve found anywhere else. They also have an optometrist in-house for when I need to update my prescription. I will keep coming back and recommend it to everyone who needs glasses in town.

I had one of my best experiences ever with Goleta Valley Optical at the new location in Santa Barbara off of de la Vina. And that really says something because I had excellent service at the Goleta store in the Magnolia Center.I walked into the SB store with a new prescription and was greeted immediately by two very friendly young men. The store itself looked sleek, modern, and welcoming. The help and care I received from Jacob who created my order was superb. He laid out the entire process and explained the specific costs as my prescription is a bit out of the ordinary in the need for prisms in all the lenses. I double the gold stars for Jacob and the new store! I must also add they dressed very sharply looking like GQ men and giving the store that much more of a professional feel. Well done!

I have been getting my glasses here forever. I actually look forward to losing my glasses to have an excuse to get a new pair. Their prices and service are the best Ive seen in any establishment. They have helped me salvage many an old pair of glasses that have been sat on, probably even run over. These guys will give you the best service and the best glasses possible anywhere. I came in on a Thursday to get my new glasses, I was told 6-7 days no problem, and they arrived the next day! When I picked them up the right lens was way off, so I went back to my eye doctor and they had made a mistake, so I came in with the new right lens prescription and sat to wait. The lovely young woman who took care of me the first time did not make me wait, she knew why I was there and remembered me and took my glasses and paperwork. Now that is good customer service, I am so pleased my doctor sent me to you folks.

Both Jeannette and Jonathon were very helpful due to their warm personalities and complete knowledge of GVO’s eyeglass frame inventory. They were patient with my decision-making process, and gave me frank feedback (e.g., fit, compatibility with my Rx, color, and style) on various frames I tried on. Fil, too, was helpful in ordering a couple of additional options for me to try. I imagine everyone will be similarly helpful when I return to pick up my new glasses.I do wish that GVO’s arrangement with my VSP insurance allowed them to apply my insurance discount upfront, rather than me paying in full and awaiting reimbursement (for an unknown amount) from VSP. Perhaps this can happen in the future?Overall, I am very pleased with GVO’s staff, selection, and quality of service!

Pleasant but for me they were a waste of $450. I have had glassesfitted for over 50 years and have never had a problem. At Goleta,the lady placed the reading part of the lenses so low, I had to tip myhead back for stuff close up. They corrected it by elevating the wholeframe which put pressure on my nose and brought the bottom of theglasses into view. I even had old glasses that showed where the reading part should have been which was ignored. Not recommended.

I had a great experience with Dr. Beaudry and the staff at Goleta Valley Optometry! As a new patient I felt Dr. Beaudry heard and listened to my concerns about the recent issues Ive had with my eyes, and with some glasses I had purchased elsewhere. I did not feel rushed out, or like I was another patient they had to get through. Dr. Beaudry also did not make me feel guilty or like I was wrong at all if I decided to get contacts somewhere else. I was given my contact and glasses rx immediately after my appointment, and told if anything else came up to schedule a follow-up appointment. GVO even offered to submit our information to our insurance for us, though we had to pay up front, it simplified the process for us. My husband broke the side of his glasses. I called and was told to bring it in and they would try and fix them and didnt even ask is I had purchased then there. Everyone had on a mask and gloves. The sales lady found a new frame that fit the lenses and I waited in the car. She brought the glasses in a case to the car with the credit card charges put thru. I recently went into Goleta Valley Optical to see if Dan could help me with my glasses. I had an accident, got hit in the face, and my glasses got tweaked out of shape. My family and I have been using GVO for all of our eyewear needs for over 20 years. I have a medically-complicated visual history, including severe myopia, astigmatism, and eye disease, which often makes my choice of frames and lenses difficult, since it cannot be based solely on fashion sense, price, or comfort alone. Every optician who works there, whether owner or employee, is patient, professional, well-informed, courteous, helpful but not pushy, and very happy to share their superior knowledge with me. They give advice when asked, and make suggestions, where appropriate, and those suggestions do not always support making a more expensive purchase, rather a purchase that is the best one for the particular patient at that time. In my opinion, their customer service and selection of frames is far superior to those of Lens Crafters and of two different ophthalmologists offices I have frequented within the last 4 years, which I did only because my health insurance required me to. In spite of their superior stock and customer service, GVOs prices are consistently considerably lower than those of the other aforementioned providers and every other provider in the Santa Barbara area that I am aware of. Goleta Valley Optical is really the best by far in every important way, and I give them my unqualified recommendation!
