Should of gotten the one gentleman’s name that ended up helping me out in the end (he was the only person who seemed to have any idea what he was doing there) but I walked around for probably 15 minutes looking for someone to help me purchase one item. There was a guy sitting out at the front desk, gave me attitude for asking for his help… this store has definitely went downhill in the last few years. I remember Customer service being amazing before.

This place is cool. The times Ive been there the sales associates are helpful to their best of their ability and hardworking. The lessons department are really cool too. Jay is very welcoming and the instructors are great on doing what they do. They should all get a raise for all their hard effort! Keep up the good work guys

DO NOT SHOP HERE! The store doesnt need any customer any more. WORST customer service at all !Even we brought before, we get towed today. We hang around the guitar center, we still get towed. Like 7-8 customers all get towed. They are CRAZY. We paid near $500 to pay for their crazy action, they rob the money. We got towed to a small factory zone, and next day ONLY to get our car, pay 200 extra for this.The employee doesnt care, the plaza manager said, not responsibility for this enforcing activity.

Ever since I started playing guitar I have been coming to this location and have never had any issues, and only positive experiences. Staff are always friendly and store is well maintained. Deals are great as well. Ive also sold a few items and received very fair offers.

Worst Costumer service. Lack of knowledge on insurance policy. Bad attitude, laziness. No solutions. Three employees and one manager couldnt help. They all had their own policy and their own way to work. They hate to exchange equipment with insurance. They walk away from you. They love that you walk away from exchange. Never making business with this store.

Suffering from a lack of staff on Saturday morning, this shop can make you wait long just for trying the guitar sitting at the top of the shelf. A young vendor was not agreable to me and didnt try to help me find what I wanted. Maybe thats because I must have a frenchy uncomprehensive accent I acknowledge..The shop manager was cool and helpful though.

Out of all the guitar centers I ever been to this is the worst one hands down!!!! Employees are extremely rude and manager was not helpful at all with my issues and concerns!!!! Ive been a big spender at your store since you guys opened and I havent had one good experience yet.. you guys definitely lost a good customer and I will no longer be shopping at your store anymore!!! Worst place/customer service really towing cars right and left . this is how bad is has gotten since there so money hungry from not having customers. We all know u dont need all those 20+ spaces u guys get 1 to 2 customers per hr hope ur paying the city for each of those un- used paking spaces.. My recommendation is to move your business to a smaller less active shopping center.. and stop stealing money for people.. that could well be used in Costco..

Guitar Center is not good AT ALL!!! Most all of the employees lack great customer service. Guitar center should send all employees to customer service class. They don’t help you and when they do they lack the proper information they give you. I have spent so much money at GC and I think enough is enough and I will be taking my business elsewhere. They tell you they are buying equipment over the phone and you get there and are told no we are not. You are the employee YOU should know!!!!!

Curbside Pickup doesn’t really work.They let you shop online for curbside pickup but there is no designated parking spot for curbside. I waited 10min and no one brought out my stuff so I went inside and got it myself.

I came to the store to buy 2 EV EKX-12 P Powered loudspeakers.First I had to wait 45 min to be helped by a guy named Jimmy.He said he needed to check the date of arrival but then he gave us a different price from the one it had on the store.I believe I should pay for the price it showed up on store, he got really upset and with an attitude when I requested I had to be given that price.He walked away from us, and said there was no one else on store to help us.

I have been going to this store for years and I have spend thousands of dollars there I can only say that you have to find the right associate to deal with. .Some of the sales people are great . my recent purchase was not a great experience was not so nice. The manager was not personable. and got even worst when I didnt by the warranty for the 600$ speaker I bought. And I tried to ask a question from some bearded sales guy and he blew my off. It doesnt really inspire you to come back. All I can say is find a nice salesperson to help you . I didnt have a choice that day that I went to purchase. My excitement for what I had just purchased was not there when I walked out. . there are some great salesman and women that work there I should have waited to make my purchase with them. The team members at this store are incredibly nice and helpful. I walked in there with a keyboard in mind and Jay was helpful both when I tested out all the keyboards and decided to purchase one. I will definitely be coming back here for any of my music needs in the future.

I purchased a new guitar online and had it delivered to this location a couple months ago and the staff were real nice. The guy who helped me out even allowed me to leave the boxes and extra packaging trash there with them.Another time I went in to purchase a pedal power brick supply, and the lady there was real helpful and explained to me the differences between each without being a pushy sales person.

I am currently trying to reach someone and they hung up after 5 minutes of dialing and so i tried again but nobody is picking up! I thought guitar center has worked on their customer service but each time i call or visit them is always a bad experience. No wonder nobody comes here anymore unless they are desperate

Jay has been amazing at helping arrange my lessons for me! Im not able to leave home very much and have a somewhat unpredictable schedule due to some complicated personal issues, but Jay has been patient and able to adapt my lesson schedule around my needs, even if theyre often last minute. I worry its burdensome to people but Jay has made things flexible and easy for me, AND hes always been patient and friendly while doing so. My instructor Noah has helped me to reach new heights I thought were unreachable with my skills, but every week I can see and hear my improvement. If youre contemplating getting lessons, this is *the* place to go. And to think I was hoping to randomly find a good tutor on Craigslist, sheesh! Glad I came here instead.

My daughter has been taking lessons for over a year now. When we first started, the lessons department was good. Of course, there were some flaws. The teachers were nice but not very engaging. The lessons lead at that time had great customer service skills but left the store. That is when the lessons department took a downturn without a person to lead the instructors, set the schedule, and to find and retain new students. The department was unorganized and did not have any direction.My daughters instructor at the time was not connecting with her and felt like leaving the store. Her instructor ended up leaving due to the lack of leadership. Thats when the store came to their senses and hired Jay Escobar to be the lessons lead.Jay Escobar has single-handedly turned the ship around. He is organized, professional, and understands the needs of the customer. He has the business acumen to lead Guitar center lessons department and their goals and initiatives as well. Jay will go the extra mile for the customer and make things go smooth. He paired up the BEST guitar instructor Noah Castillo and I have to say my daughter is playing like a pro now. I was so impressed with Jays work that I signed up my other 2 daughters for lessons! One plays the bass and the other plays piano. I have to say both of their instructors. Nick Chandler and Deon Lee are both very patient and knowledgeable instructors. All the instructors will give you a quick debrief at the end of the lessons so the parent is connected. I cant sing their praises enough. I havent had the chance to experience the other instructors there but they are always very friendly to me and greet me. I can see that other students are enjoying their lessons.I would highly recommend guitar center lessons. Whether you play the guitar or drums, this is the place to go! Thank you Jay for making it a wonderful experience for my daughters. Kudos!

Im leaving a low rating because of the guitar tech at this location. Im pretty sure the rest of the staff are fine I went to buy string without any issue but the guitar tech working gave me a hard time when I was asking for a basic soldering job to get the pre wired pickguard with the pickups already pre installed it only need to get solder to the body with the input jack and the guitar was giving me a hard time and not being helpful in any way it should have been only 15 minutes job max . I dont recommend this guitar center if you need guitar maintenance done . I recommend the one in Cerritos they have always been helpful and nice.for general store needs I think this location is fine but I probably will chose to go to another location.

Employees do not have any customer service training and do not know how to properly give information.I had called in advance asking if they are accepting an item to sell and I was told yes to come at a specific time and made the drive that was out of my way to be told as I got there they aren’t testing or buying at the moment. This is unacceptable and hope anyone that is interested in selling to not bother and look somewhere else.This guitar center for being new is garbage.

Really liked this store. Angel, the associate, was super helpful and friendly. Came to purchase music sheets and ended up buying the piano. Spoke with manager as well but didnt catch his name. Took 5 minutes to get a hold of someone because I could not see all my transactions I’ve made in the store on my online account so I have to call every store to get info. Chris did not want to help and said you can call tomorrow morning or come in the store. I don’t live in the area and why would I drive all the way out there to get some info I can get over the phone. Before this call I called the location in Pasadena and it took him 3 minutes to get this info for me :/Guitar center is getting worse every year. They never have enough staff, their systems shut down, their systems are old and some employees are rude or get frustrated working there. Trust me I know because I am in and out of Guitar center at-least 2-3x a month for the past 7 years.

Previous I had giving this place 5 stars. However, several times I have called and no one answers and when I left messages for Nadine the Lessons Lead/Manager no one gave them to her. I enrolled my daughter in drums class and she was super nice at the time of enrollment and even said that she would contact me with plenty of time before her class ended to see how she liked it, how she was doing and if I wanted to continue her enrollment - lied, she was never around and never called and on the contrary I called several times and even the other drum/piano insteuctor (Robert I believe is his name) left a written note to contact me, he said or at least someone would contact me. I was contacted the Saturday evening by Nadine in a not so nice tone about the instructor not being back and being his last day and I HAD ALREADY BEEN CHARGED!! That was very inconsistent with what she said originally!. I heard from her, several times before enrolling my daughter BUT NOT ONCE during or before I WAS CHARGED AGAIN. We missed the first class because I had a tooth extracted and if you ever know about that you feel awful, and I left a message and they said they would give to her and ALL SHE SAID WAS WELL IM SORRY, OUR POLICY IS 24 HRS IN ADVANCE AND I NEVER GOT THE MESSAGE! SERIOUSLY! That is terrible customer service if you ask me! Just terrible AND FROM A LEAD/MANAGER! I always used to go there, never again. Why be so friendly at the beginning to get customers to then so rude and not get business again.

So a year ago I purchased a speaker and purchased the “pro-coverage”. Make sure you’re aware that if your equipment gets damage the store does nothing to assist.You have to call the manufacturer. If you purchase a defective item like I did from this store and they refuse to return the item because you didnt purchase the warranty and its outside the return window, you can just let them know that you intend on filing a small claims court case to resolve the issue and that you have logged the hours spent on the matter. If you purchased the item under a year ago, theres a very good chance you will win.I purchased a defective Mackie Thump Go which stopped working and turning off after 5 months of use. My calls to this store were useless and my emails were ignored. I then reached out to a different store and they helped me thanks to the steps I outlined above.I just hope all musicians are treated fairly and with respect and that our business is respected!Cheers :)

On 2/20/2023 I paid for a Roland FP-30X Digital Piano Package for over $1000 with taxes. Only after the purchase we were told that the package was not available at the store but that we would have to wait for it to be transferred to the Montebello store, which we would be charged for. On 2/23/2023 we received an email telling us that that our order has arrived and is ready for pickup. When we arrived to pick up the order we discovered that the keyboard was missing. The store manager, who happened to be the clerk working the register, had not checked this and told us that was the entire package. When I showed him that the keyboard was missing so he went looking for it but couldnt find it. He then checked his computer and found that the keyboard had not been shipped. He offered no apology, so I asked for a full refund. He said that he could not provide a refund until his store received the missing keyboard. This store managers customer service was aloof and very insensitive. He did nothing to make this right, nor did he tell us when the keyboard would arrive. Horrible customer service. I would give a minus 5 if possible. I will never purchase anything from Guitar Center again.

I have been to this location a few times, and each time, I have been treated with excellent customer service. They have been taking precautions in order to provide a safe environment for all customers during this pandemic.My family and I recently had a situation with an exchange that we needed to have done. The store’s manager helped us minutes after we walked in, in order to assure that we were being attended. My family and I were satisfied with our in store experience and happy that we were able to exchange our guitar. Amazing customer service and staff!

Most likely the best guitar center Ive been to. Very clean, very good vibes. Came to pick up an online order. Also purchased a strap for my new acoustic. It was a younger smaller, skinny guy that helped me out. Not to be mean, just describing because I forgot his name but wish I remembered because his customer service was awesome. I was trying to find a new bass and without asking, the manager came up to me and helped me out personally and showed me lots of different basses and really got on a friendly level with me. Another staff helped me with my things and when I had questions he gave me his thoughts and answered my questions thoroughly. He was there to help me for the past two hours and was very understanding. Not to mention that the instruments were high quality. 15/10 loved the store so much

What can I say that you may not know? To you musicians out there, we already know what happens here. To the future musician... You have to hurry and come on already. Do not hesitate....do not feel embarrassed... We all had our first visit and boy did it show. I easily transformed a great instrument into what it was before it was crafted. Ha. Thank God there where no cellphones to capture 1000 words for dork. The sooner you get in here the sooner your inspiration will grow and begin a lifelong relationship with music.

Truly a phenomenal example of the guitar center brand at its best.The staff is attentive and courteous as well as friendly and informative and theres no shortage of smiles on any day of the week.The display instruments are by far my favorite part at this store as they have nearly everything set up for display. There were very few items on a shelf that I could not try for myself on the floor and thats gotta one of the best parts about the organization in general so to see it taken to such a high caliber here is amazing.If you havent been yet then stop by next time youre near the mall. You wont be disappointed.

Be nice to get some information on my order. Called this store twice one the 9th during store hours got hung up once second time call cancelled because I was left on hold too long. Then called the 10th and left an email and nobody got back to me. I had a recent order with another store canceled because they failed to communicate my used order was not in inventory and stolen now this store is about to have the same issue with failing to communicate. Really upset and apparently people not answering phones has been a problem even before the pandemic With this store so there should be no excuse. Was able to call general customer service online and get all the information I needed for my order. However update 24 hours later the 11th Monterey park store still hasn’t answered my call or my email I sent a day ago so I forwarded this issue to customer service so others with the same issue can get a resolution hopefully. If you can’t answer calls or emails you shouldn’t be operating.

I freaking love this Guitar center!!! Every time that I have been there the staff is super cool and big time friendly. All the staff is down to earth and I always end up laughing and joking with them. They always get me the best deal to and if I have to return something they do it right away. Noe is the man!!! He always has a great attitude and he always gets me the best deal possible, if you go in ask for him! Also, Marvin is another great staff member and he is a great guy who will help you out with all kinds of patience. If you ever need to go to a guitar center go to this one you wont regret it. This is my go to Guitar center and even if I moved far from monterey park I would still take the drive to go here. They just helped me get a new fender professional jazz bass in black so Im crazy stoked about it. You need to check this place out for music instruments!!!!

Great service from Jay and Michael. Both gave me great input with todays purchase. Not only did they make sure I was taken care of but made sure to fully have a good trial with PA speakers and go as loud as I pleased to get that full experience before I buy and make a comfortable purchase. I was looking into a 15 PA speaker with Bluetooth capabilities and the EV ZLX 15BT was exactly what I wanted. Thanks a lot Guitar Center staff @ Monterey Park 👍.

Great safety measures during Covid-19. Acoustic Guitar selection is running a bit low, probably increased purchases during the pandemic from people staying at home looking for a new hobby. Overall great experience however, parking is usually available, and very good service. Check online or call before going if you want to know if a specific model is in stock.

On July my wife Mary Menchaca payed for gutter lessons using her credit card, the following week they took out another $500 . They said it was a mistake a computer glitch, only 250 was returned. They wont return her calls she Email them proof that she never took additional lessons. These people are Thieves please do not trust them with your credit information they will rip you off.And their lessons suck you will learn more from a youtube video

Top notch service from literally everyone as soon as I walked in, but especially from Javier and Michael.Went in to buy a Concert Ukulele and also wanted to change the strings for an ascending tuning rather than the normal reentrant.Came in right at open, Javier let me take my time selecting, I decided on a Cordoba. When I purchased the brand new ukulele tho, I opened it right there and right away, both of us noticed the color was way different from the one on display that I was testing out. He put everything down to make sure I got the one I wanted, which was much appreciated.Later, Michael very easily and quickly switched out the strings for me and even showed me how it was done. Gave me a good deal too since I was only changing one string.Super friendly and extremely helpful. Well ok hear we go...😤 first time visiting this guitar center and my experience was horrible not only was their no parking available to me being a customer.... they all were taking up by the shoppers going to cosco.... holiday or no holiday it should be guitar center responsibility to make sure their customers have access to a parking space....I literally drove around for 29 minutes to be exact while arguing with other drivers taking up the guitar centers parking space I remained calm watching them as they got out of their car and walked over to cosco...🤦🏽‍♂️ so finally i make it into the store got what I was looking for product was not sealed the box was open and usually I wont buy opened reson being you dont know if its been used or tampered with....well really wanted it.......p.s the employees were kind and helpful.

Not a place to buy music. I bought a 350 page piano book that turned out to be too difficult for me. I tried to return it after 3 weeks but was turned down. Apparently, there is a no return policy on music that I was not aware of. But, perhaps if I have brought it back the next day it could be returned. Their concern was that I could have copied the whole book in that time. Really? Lesson learned. Ill buy my music elsewhere.

There to sell my guitar and amp. The clerks there are friendly enough, and gave me a quote on the guitar and amp, both of which are in relatively fine condition.However, halfway through the transaction, the manager intervened (While hiding his visage behind closed bathroom stalls, I would suspect, since he refused to even present himself before us), and basically shut down the entire transaction, because the amp was missing a knob, and the guitar had a chip.Left and went to another guitar center. Way more professional crew, took value off for the damage and repairing costs, which seems way more reasonable to me than refusing to buy it completely.I cant say much about the rest of the store, but regarding customer service, this is far from the best.

This GC is ok for what I need, the little things, picks, straps, pegs, cables, stands, etc. For guitar purchases, Ill check the store first, then Ill visit the website. I would have given 5 stars except for the main reason... Their selection of guitar strings. For electrics, I use ghs boomers... They dont have my set. Acoustics... Only one brand, DAddario for 12 strings and thats not what I was looking for. Seems Ernie ball is the only fully stocked brand. Anywho, employees are nice, knowledgeable, the store is clean.
