First time in the Grizzly Manor Cafe. It was excellent and huge portions. My husband who is a pretty good eater couldn’t even finish his food. The staff were amazing and very attentive. Great experience. The restaurant itself is small so be prepared to wait a little. We only waited about 15 minutes, but larger parties seem to have a 30 minute wait.

Amazing food. Amazing service. Best breakfast in Big Bear Lake. Truly one of the best places for a local owned restaurant. The French toast is delicious. Over medium eggs were perfect. The breakfast burrito was enormous and made to order with the ingredients I wanted.

Stopped in for breakfast. Wait was about 30 min. However, they have some benches outside that are shaded, so it wasnt bad.Its seems odd, but the most annoying thing about the wait was their front door. It slammed shut every time it was opened and closed. Think this just caused by memories of getting yelled at for letting the door slam shut when younger.Anyways, the atmosphere was comfortable, and there were things to look at everywhere. Music was great.Crew working was very cheerful, friendly, and fast.Food was pretty good except for the hashbrowns they were so overcooked that I felt like I was eating canned potato sticks. They were horrible. They were not just crispy on the outside. The whole pile was crispy inside and out.

Loved this cafe! So much so my granddaughter wanted to come back the next day for breakfast! We both had Sissy Boy the first day, she had bacon and I had sausage which was delicious! The next day she ordered the Sissy Boy again and I ordered a scrambled egg and we split the pancake and still didn’t come close to finishing it. Their food is really good and service was wonderful! I would go back!

This place came highly recommended from friends and now I come here for breakfast every time Im in Big Bear. Theres no way I can come and not stop by for some food. Ive been coming here for the past two years now and it never disappoints me. I try something new every time and have loved everything. On my previous visit I had the French Toast and it was amazing. This time I had to try the Blob and my friends tried the different pancakes. Then tomorrow Im definitely going for their waffles. The place isnt that big, so make sure you get there early or youll have a little wait because everyone loves the food here. It has a nice old school diner slash nostalgic feel to it. You definitely cant go to Big Bear and not have breakfast here at least once.

Beloved locally-owned breakfast café serving the best of house-made American comfort food. Breakfast is served all day until closing at 2:00 pm. Highly recommend their chorizo and eggs scramble and of course, the freshly made waffles! The bacon was perfectly cooked, too! Bottomless coffee refills are served up by an eclectic staff who delight in entertaining the guests as well as serving them!

We had brunch there on Sunday around 9.30am. Expect a long wait (1.30 for us), but they will let you know the wait so you can go for a walk and come back later. The portions are huge, the vibe is everything and the staff so kind! We had the Sissy boy, big fat and some sides. We will definitely come back to enjoy this old fashion breakfast dinner.

Good breakfast place!!! Huge portions!Not sure if it was the bad dinner we had the night before but we had Christmas Eve breakfast and it was delicious. The wait was an hour but we left to take care of other business so it was worth it. The place is old, small, fast paced country diner style. Service is decent but it’s hard to chase someone down as seats crowded in a small establishment. Portion was good for the price and the food was great. Good flavor and seasoning. We had the Fat Pat which was amazing, side of bacon with one pancake which was huge, French toast which was average and a egg plate with sausage, toast and hash browns. Hash browns were so good but the sausage left a weird after taste.I would highly recommend this place if you’re in Big Bear looking for a good breakfast or brunch place.They were also dog friendly (in carriers only) but we did a French or a pug being carried out so unsure if it was just a requirement for us or not.

Great place for some breakfast and certainly a busy place. The wait to be seated was only about 35 minutes. I’d say it lives up to the other high reviews it has. Only reasoning for the atmosphere lower rating was the lack of climate control in the restaurant itself, seemed a little on the warm side indoors.

Came here Saturday 7/30/22 around 7:30am, walked in and sat down at a table, no waiting. I was surprised to see theres only about 10-11 tables. My first time here but when I go to Big Bear Ive always seen people waiting outside, lots of people. Get here early and you dont wait. After coming here I see why people will wait for an hour to get seated. Service is great! Our order was taken within 5 minutes and our coffee was poured within 2 minutes of sitting. I had the biscuits and gravy within Louisiana smoked sausage and eggs and hash browns and the portion was huge. It was amazing. All the dishes are huge. You havent had a pancake till youve come here. It literally is hanging off the plate. You will not need lunch after coming here. I will be back.

This place is incredible. Its my first time visiting Big Bear, and this place is making the best first impression. Its small and there were a few families ahead of me to get tables so I got takeout (which was so fast!) and took it back to my cabin. The 5 minutes I waited for my unbelievably delicious food gave me just enough time to snap some pictures of the sticker walls (and ceiling) and one of the many good doggos enjoying a meal with their people. The music is good, its a mix of locals and tourists which is always a good sign, and the service is incredible too. I will drive to Big Bear just for this place TBH. Its that good.

Came for breakfast and loved it all. The ambiance was small town friendly, everyone chit chatting with one another while the chef prepped our food. The food portions are big and delicious. Parking was limited but it was worth the wait. Truly enjoyed the vibe here. The employees just loved being there and it brought me back to my military days. Rude hosts, very dirty floors and tables, horribly cramped inside. Food ordered by other guests was oversized for the plate and eggs were full of grease. I was blatantly ignored for being a single diner, waited for 40 minutes while a local regular was helped immediately and couples were seated despite being further down the queue. Went to Denny’s instead, had a standard breakfast without the fuss, grime, or localism. Feels like I dodged a bullet but god damn, what a waste of time for a serving of sass.

OMG AMAZING Food! Bring your appetite! This place has HUGE portions! The prices are extremely reasonable! I was expecting our bill to be way more and it was less than $40! My husband ordered The Mess(the picture with the toast) and I ordered The Blob. Coffee is strong ( just how we like it😁) The wait was going to be about 40 minutes but we got lucky and only had to wait about 10(our lucky day) Definitely go to this place! Had to try this place since we heard about it so much. The food portion is super big, 2 breakfast and one short stack of pancakes is more than enough for two of us, but the food is a bit too greasy for us. The coffee is okay, fast food quality coffee I’d say, fresh but not too strong if you’re coffee person. It could get really busy, so plan to be there earlier. Waitresses did a great job managing the tables.

This place was my last place whilst at Big Bear and it was the best experience ever. The food was amazing! I had their decaf coffee, they have the best decaf ever. I also had their sissy boy special which included this huge pancake to which I added blueberries, agh it was amazing. If I’m ever back to Big Bear I’ll definitely give them a visit.

This place was FABULOUS! 10 small tables and a half-bars seats at the bar. Open kitchen, and though the menu claims the staff is salty, they were AMAZING to us, even though I had to be a snowflake. Im currently on a Low-Iodine Diet in preparation for radiation therapy, so I had to ask about 8 million questions and the chef himself came out WITH the giant box of oil he cooks with, not because I asked him to, but because he wanted to be SURE I could eat and be ok!!! I brought my own LIDsafe salt and LIDsafe coffee creamer, and I got to actually eat with my boyfriend while on vacation #priceless. He got the Fat Pat, and reports that everything was delicious, only problem was everything was piping hot 😂For those on LID, I got a side of 1 egg White and a side of hash browns. 10/10!!! Own and ran by a navy vet, there is no better place to eat our in big bear. All the food there is top notch. My favorite thing to get is the mess and my husband will normal get the fat pat. And we always leave happy and full.Normal we go real real mori.g when its just chef there. But we went on his day off and one of the girls where very detracted by her cell phone. Grizzly Manor was an awesome place to go get breakfast!The service was great, and the food was top-notch!Not only did it taste excellent, you also get very large portions that are relatively inexpensive.The buttermilk pancakes were bigger than the entire plate that came on.The French toast was heavenly! The local sourced sausage tasted that little bland to me, but I like really spicy stuff so thats on me.We will definitely be getting breakfast here again!

Small, local, and straight out of the 90s. Be prepared to take home leftovers, if they tell you the portion is big, believe it. Could not possibly recommend this place more highly.

This little cafe is so awesome! Right off Big Bear Lake Rd and had a crowd waiting to be seated, so we knew it had to be good! Very small but the service was incredibly fast and super friendly. They moved patrons in and out quickly to get everyone in. The atmosphere was so cute and fun! Decorated with stivkers, art, and other memorabilia left by past guests. You can tell it is family owned and they take pride in their business. They were constantly checking on us, refilling our coffee, and chatting with the guests. The food came out quick with HUGE portions, so bring your appetite! And the food.... So yummy! The coffee was delicious too! I bought one of their cute mugs as a souvenir. Definitely a must if youre in Big Bear looking for breakfast!

The way we eat food. Loved the environment and the staff. The servers were fun and friendly. I wouldnt say it is a small place but its intimate.The portions are HUGE and even though we split the meal, it wasnt fully consumed. Its delicious and a messy meal. The waffles and pancakes dont really need syrup either. The eggs taste farm fresh. The bacon, sausage, and ham are insanely good. This is a gem.

A MUST try when you are in Big Bear. Get here early and be prepared to wait. On holidays the wait can be 1-2 hours. Yes! It’s that popular. I typically get the French toast combo, half an order. The portions are huge. They open at 6am, and when I’m in town I usually get there before 6:30 and get to hang out with Doug, Charlie and the locals/regulars. I almost forgot. If you like a chocolatety hot chocolate, you will be in heaven!!!

Grizzly Manor is my most favorite little place in the Big Bear Valley it is a small restaurant in Big Bear Lake that is famed for its delicious breakfast foods.My favorite meal here is The Blob its biscuits & Gravy with Eggs and bacon on top of it with hash browns on the side. I also very much recommend the French Toast Combo its incredible.This place is popular and because of that they get busy very easily. If you dont come early you may have quite the long wait.

Had a great breakfast at this restaurant. Even though Grizzly Manor Cafe is pretty small, my party of 12 people was very satisfied with the service. I was surprised that we didn’t have to wait along time for how busy it was. Worth the wait, but you better be there when they call your name! I overheard someone did not respond when called so they called the next name and that party stood up. Then after making their way to the door the prior party responded that they were late to respond. The host was going to make them rock, paper scissors for it! Fun! :) Food was fabulous! Loved all the staff! I stayed at a resort where the cook (Doug) mother worked and had referred me to the restaurant. Lots to see while you sit. A MOUTHFUL OF AMAZING!!!! Tried this place for the first time for breakfast on our weekend trip. Felt like I was at a friends house enjoying breakfast. They treat you like you are part of the family. Even got to see Jack and say Hi and Bye to him. It is a quaint little place as the wait shows how good the food is. Came with me and my 4 kids. They all loved it. We got French toast with hashbrowns and bacon and a side of biscuits and gravy, chocolate chip pancakes with hashbrowns and eggs, and the Fat Pat (Three Biscuits and Gravy Topped with Bacon, Ham and Sausage, Three Eggs, Hash Browns and Cheese). My 15, 13, and 4 year olds loved everything as well as me and my fat pat. The servings were huge and had to take the rest home. Prices are very reasonable. Definitely coming back again. I loved their coffee mugs so much I even purchased 2 of them to take home. If you are looking for a breakfast place then this is the place to go. Check in on yelp though so you dont have to wait outside so long.

This place is one of the best places to have breakfast in big bear! Their portions are HUGE (me and hubby shared and still didnt get to finish it all) and the food is absolutely delicious. Im very picky about my eggs and they were cooked perfectly. The inside of the grizzly is retro and has stickers and pictures all over the walls from locals to tourists. Had a pancake (I asked for strawberries) it was huge and cooked perfectly. The hashbrowns were light and crispy, perfect. Scrambled eggs, were... well, scrambled eggs. SO had chicken fried steak. The steak was a little tough, could have been pounded more to tenderize but the flavor was on point. He also had a biscuit and gravy. Heads up: There are only a couple parking spots for the restaurant and towing is being enforced now. Dominos pizza (right behind)has posted that they will allow Grizzly Manor parking there. 🙏😃Well worth the wait! We’ve been going to Grizzly Manor for 10 years. This restaurant was on the Travel Channel years a back and it promptly became the fame of Big Bear . It’s pretty impossible to get in without a wait; our average wait time is over an hour, so don’t go when you’re already hungry!Once inside you’ll see what seems like a biker bar: stickers covering every wall, servers and cooks covered in tattoos, signs that are brutally to the point. Don’t judge a book by its cover. This is the best food, portions and prices in Big Bear. My favorite is Rudy’s Scramble with sourdough toast and their delicious Cali hot sauces 🤤. We leave with plenty left over for lunch.Note: there is no alcohol served here. Can you imagine how long the wait would be if there was?! We’ve been known to put our name in, grab a Bloody Mary in the village, and be back in time to be seated.

I googled this place; it had a 4.5 out of 5 stars so I thought I would stop in and check it out. To be honest, I didnt eat here for a few reasons.1) the place was SUPER tiny, they really pack you in, and hope you dont get seated by the front door, because theres a possibility you might get hit by it when it opens. 2) there were seven parties ahead of me to be seated. 3) the walls are covered in floor to ceiling stickers which looks cool, but kind of darkens up the place, and in a weird way made me feel like I was in a teenage boys bedroom. We tried couple of different things in there, French vanilla cappuccino was mediocre, tomato juice was what you expect it to be, coffee was fine, the sissy boy which has two eggs, bacon and one huge pancake was above average (well the pancake was lol), and we also made our omelette with mushrooms and cheese which was pretty good. This place looked popping from the outside so we decided to give it a shot. Fair warning: if you are not a party of two, God help you cause you will wait for a minute.It took us over an hour to be seated as a family of five. Food quality was ok, flavor was good, nothing to write home about. Pancakes are huge though, so thats cool.Seating area is packed like sardines, so again, if you arent a party of two have fun bumping elbows with your neighbors.Overall not a bad spot to eat but wouldnt fight the crowd to get in for a second round.

Delicious food. My kids loved the GIANT chocolate chip pancake. I had The Blob, which was delicious beyond description. However, because the food is so fabulous, and the restaurant is so small, staff is limited, and the wait times are long. This is why they have devised an online check-in system. Check-in from home, then show up when they text you. It stream lines the waiting process. I wish I would have known this before I dragged my hungry kiddos there. We ordered, I took them back to the cabin, then returned for the food, since it was a 45 minute wait for a to-go order. We loved the food so much, we planned to call in an order the following day. I called and called, and finally drove over to place an order in person. I was told they take the phone off the hook because they are too busy. No wonder I couldnt phone-in an order! So, either plan on eating there (cramped quarters for Covid) or go early to order, take a walk by the lake, then return for the food. Definitely worth the experience.

The space is very small. For example, if you need to get up once youre seated at some of the tables, a couple of people are going to have to move so you can get out. Our server was very nice, and the food came out quickly. The cook even brought over some stickers to our daughter. We would probably be up for a return trip next time we are on the mountain.

We always look for family owned restaurants to try. I usually do a search of the area and then I read reviews. I read Grizzly Manor reviews plus they open early on Sunday morning. Other restaurants in the area didnt open until 11:00am. I also asked Jeff at the front desk if he could recommend a good place to have breakfast. Without hesitation he told me Grizzly Manor and gave me directions. Jeff also said you will see people outside waiting.We drove there and sure enough people were waiting outside. I went in wrote down our name and the waitress said its an hour wait. We are willing to wait if the good is good. As I was walking out I scanned the plates on the tables. Hugh plates of pancakes and omelets.After 45 minutes our name was called. O ordered The Grizzly bear reo eggs, bacon, hash browns and biscuits with gravy. My husband ordered the Polar bear two eggs, Bacon Hash browns and two pancakes. We could not believe the pancakes they brought my husband they were as big as a dinner plate. I am thinking biscuits with gravy one biscuit...wrong they bring another dinner plate with four biscuits covered with gravy. Then they bring our plates with eggs, bacon and hash browns. My brother and his gal ordered omelets and eggs with hash browns and bacon. Now their tables are small we dont have room for all these plates. Luckily we sat next to the window and we were able to put the napkin holder and other items on the windows ledge. Food was delicious great quantity and quality. If you come here make sure you are hungry.The owner was very nice he actually has a great sense of humor and jokes around with his customers. He told us about his other business that is a full service deli. Grizzly Manor is opened from 6:00am - 2:00pm 7 days a week. On weekends they only serve breakfast. During the week they serve breakfast and lunch. I hope this review helps you. We will come back here. We plan on visiting his Deli to get a sandwich.

Grizzly Manor is open limited hours and you can expect a wait to get a table but it is so worth it. Come hungry because portions are big. Pancakes are bigger than the plate. Pictured is the fat pat with 3 biscuits and gravy loaded with sausage and bacon, hashbrowns, topped with 3 eggs & French toast with strawberries and whipped cream. You can add hash browns and eggs to the french toast for minimal extra charge. We will all order something different next time so we can share family style. So worth the 40 minute drive up the mountain. They do offer a lunch menu if sandwiches and burgers. A wooden sign outside the front door lets you know if they are serving lunch or just breakfast that day.

My All time favorite Restaurant for breakfast. Grizzly Restaurant is a very lovely, friendly staff member and tastey food. I went to the restaurant 3 days in the row from Saturday, May 6 to Monday May 8. Saturday I ordered Eggs, Hash Brown with Bacon, Sunday I order a huge pancake and Monday I order French Toast. I was the first customer arrive at 6:00am. The Waiter saw me standing outside invited me to come in. I forgot his name but really a friendly waiter. We got to chit chat for a little bit. I love waiting outside when the waiter call to come in because I got to talk to a lot of cool people. Saturday Morning I met 3 hikers that was hiking from Mexico to Canada and made a stop into Big Bear. They told me they go hiking 20 mile a day. It was a great conversation a good way to start your morning. I highly recommend this restaurant. Yes, it is small restaurant but such a charming restaurant to chill out.

The food deserves 5 stars, but the place is very small and can’t handle the (well deserved) demand. If they would expand, they’d bring in more customers than the ski resorts!! Make sure you join the wait on Yelp, and BE THERE once you’re in the 30-40 placement range as they will call out and skip you if you’re not there!
