There is something for everyone who gardens here. My starter plants took off, and they are thriving. Bell peppers(all colors), cucumbers (pickled and regular), my asparagus, Serrano peppers, and watermelon all doing very well. Thank u Green Acres.

I totally loved this place. There’s so much variety of plants, potting soil, planter pots, outdoor furniture, and great ideas for outdoor gardening projects. I am absolutely intrigued and inspired by so many things that is in the store. I couldn’t resist but purchased a few indoor and outdoor plants. Will definitely comeback for my spring and summer garden needs.

Green Acres is the best large nursery store in Elk Grove. Im here every spring looking for new plants and flowers for my yards. They have the best selection and quality in town. The store also has a lot of outdoor decor, furniture, and cooking tools on the indoor sales floor. The workers here are also very knowledgeable and friendly.

Wowza! What a beautiful place! I was visiting from out of town and went in with my daughter. We share a love of plants, and she knew I would enjoy this store. She was 100 percent correct! Its like eye candy for all things botanical! It was so clean and well stocked and visually pleasing to the eye. They sell all kinds of stuff from pots to outdoor furniture and more kinds of trees and plants than Ive ever seen in one store. We had so much fun looking around. The employees were all very nice but one man in particular was wonderful! I wish I could remember his name! He was outside and asked if we needed any help and then we started a conversation with him. He said he was retired, but that he loves plants and working outside, so he got a job here. He was so sweet and obviously happy with sharing his love of plants! A truly stellar employee! Anyway, this place is awesome, and you should go in and look around for yourself! Its a cool place!

Not my favorite Green Acres for several reasons: very few staff available in the plant nursery area and even fewer staff that actually have any reasonable plant knowledge. Extremely disappointing and frustrating!I guess it’s all about the bottom line and the store manager hires seasonal or temporary staff with very little plant knowledge and experience. The hourly pay is appalling too and the weekly work hours fluctuate… so this is probably the reason they’re not successful in attracting the right people with suitable skills.If you want better plants in terms of quality and variety, it’s best to not waste your time here, and visit the first, original Green Acres that was established in Sacramento on Jackson Road. I also recommend the Green Acres in Auburn, which is the best of all the Green Acres nurseries!

I am absolutely in love with Green Acres for the unique plants they carry to the knowledgeable and helpful staff. I can always find a friendly face. Diego has been my go to guy for a lot of questions from orchids to succulents to soils and pots. I have been a transplanting fiend the past 3 weeks as it has been my happy spot during some stressful days. Loving how my “Birds Garden Sanctuary” has transformed over the years and Green Acres has helped bring some unique finds to add to the lushness. I make visits Whenever I need a lift to my day, whether to make a purchase or just stroll through. Always a sense of peace.

This is the first time Ive been here and I am totally impressed. From their roomy interior to the canopy overhead so you dont get heat stroke looking at the plants to the well organized products so you can find things easily. Im a fan. I love that there is a huge separate greenhouse for the indoor plants too. Made orchids easy to find. I didnt have much time to shop but what I saw impressed me. I will definitely have make some extra time to go back!

What a great nursery - knowledgeable staff. Friendly, and encourages you to bring in your dog with water and treats for them. The variety of plants from succulents, perennials and annuals was tremendous with substantial numbers of each kind. Plants seemed healthy and well cared for. Inside were all kinds of watering solutions, garden decorations and patio furniture. The number of umbrella, table, chairs, sofa, fire pit combinations on display was certainly sufficient to allow you to make a good choice for your outdoor living.

The selection is so huge, if you cant find what you like, you probably just dont know what you like. This particular store doesn’t carry all of the plants listed on sale in the weekly online flyer. The Jackson Road store has a bigger inventory, but the Elk Grove center is my local go to for gardening and houseplant supplies. Easy to find parking and staff is generally friendly and helpful, so stars for that.

If youre looking for strawberry plants and more variety of lavenders than 2 (Spanish & French) types at big stores, then this nursery is for you. They also have great bark sizes for orchid along with rocks for top dressing your plants. Only wish they would carry the clear orchid pots too.Happy gardening!

I really love this place. My dog was older and there werent many other places you could take her. When we got her out of the car she knew they had treats and water in there. Even when she was fourteen and close up the end we took her there and she tried to do a trick at the counter top get a treat. We usually get plant arrangements for our family members as they love them for the holidays. The staff are always very good with the info and very courteous.

Green Acres is the place for me!!!! The Hillbillies TV show aside, this nursery is fantastic! I will be a loyal customer for life! I have never, not one single time, been disappointed with any of the plants or other gardening supplies that I purchased from this fantastic place. The staff is super friendly and helpful too. I made sure to invite my mom to go on this shopping trip with me, because Green Acres is her favorite place to shop for plants. Its a nice environment for casually browsing while hanging out with another plant lover. You can even bring your dog.Three weeks ago, I wanted to try growing strawberries in my new hydroponic system. I had no experience with hydroponics or growing strawberries. I bought a six pack of Albion strawberry plants, because a helpful employee recommended them for flavor. I also bought a six pack of Quinault strawberry plants, because my hydroponic system has 12 growing pods and I wanted at least two varieties in my hydroponic strawberry patch. They came planted in soil, so to transplant them, I carefully rinsed the roots. The pods for my hydroponic system came with sponges which I cut in half vertically. I sandwiched the top of the roots between the moistened sponge halves and gently squeeze them into the pods letting the bottom the roots hang below. I planted the Albion strawberries on the left and the Quinault strawberries on the right. All of the plants survived. The Quinault plants have already doubled in size and started growing strawberries. Today I picked my first Quinault Strawberry and it was delicious. 🍓😋

Best nursery in town!I’ve been here numerous of times and it’s always A delight. They have tons of indoor plants, cacti, garden plants, vegetable plants and bonsai plants. Prices are reasonable but some rarer plants are obviously more pricey.Staff is always helpful and friendly, they’ll give you advice on plant care, help bring plants to you car if needed. They also give coupons with purchase!I particularly come here for indoor plants but I recently bought some pumice here!

2 stars for their variety of plants and annuals. But, that is about it for the positive side. For the last couple of years Ive felt the quality of their annuals has gone down considerably.. but the prices keep rising! This year I ended up with pansies and violas that were infested with white flies. Now theyre on all my plants on my patio. 😭 Last year it was issues with spider mites. Ick. And so hard to get rid of.If you look closely youll see many flowers are not doing well, all crammed in so tight with each other so when you pull one out, it either destroys the other plants next to it or stems will be broken in the one you want. I spent A TON of money here, but I dont think Ill be coming back anymore for a while.Also, it would nice if the annuals that are just about out of season - would be priced for clearance. Not the same price as they were when they first arrived. And if there are abundance of one kind or color, maybe price it right so they dont just end up rotting.Not sure if their supplier is different or what has happened. Also, many of the employees dont have any gardening or plant experience.

Todays planting project came out very nice.Update: I love the expanded greenhouse area for all the housplants. Do you love plants?Do you love dogs?Look no further! Today was my first day going to Green Acres Nursery and I was not disappointed. They have such a huge selection of plants and flowers and trees, I was blown away. Everything was beautiful. The vibe was calm and chillax. The layout of the store is very nice ( albeit the aisles are a tad small). Plus they are dog friendly, so we got to see really cute dogs and pet them while seeing beautiful plants. This is the ideal place for plant moms + dads and for people seeking really great starts on their plants. I will definitely be coming back even just to browse. Oh and did I mention? They have soil, pots, hoses, wind chimes and more!

Not gonna lie, I was not impressed. Ive only lived here 2 years & everyone recommended it. Its huge, with a big selection of flowers, trees, schrubs,etc. However, workers seemed a little nonchalant and uninspired. Some didnt seem to have any gardening knowledge or even knowledge of their products or the where abouts of them. The last time I was there, they only sold one type of potting soil for violets. Ill try smaller garden shops, thanks.

I love the variety here. We actually bought a passion fruit vine. The only problem is that the standard variety plants are overpriced, so I wouldnt buy everything here, but if your looking for rarer trees, shrubs, fruits and veggies, youll likely find them here. Just looking for tomatoes and strawberries, youll find stuff like that cheaper elsewhere

If you are ever feeling blue, come here. The space is huge and they carry every plant you can imagine. (I came first day of May). It will cheer you up instantly just from the sights and smell of all the plants.The prices are great and staff is helpful and knowledgeable. I also love that they will load the soil out front for you. Just tell them what bags of soil or manure you need at the register (do a quick walkthrough first so you know what you want) and someone will get it for you. No rip bags of soil all opened on the floor like Home Depot.

This place was recommended to us when we moved into town and it did not disappoint! It’s a wonderfully stocked store and such a joy to visit. Even at their busiest times on a weekend they have staff in the parking lot directing cars to get people in and out of spots fast and easy, and they are just as efficient inside moving lines along at a quick pace. My family and I LOVE Green Acres! We spend lots of time wandering the store and admiring all they have to offer. The customer service is usually very good, and all employees can pretty much answer any questions you may have. Their products are very high quality, and we recently purchased 18 trees from them.However - if you come within an hour of closing, expect all of this to change. We have experienced this on two different occasions in the past month. The store’s doors close, giving off the appearance that the store isn’t even open. For example, they closed the doors at 5:45 tonight when we were inside, even though the store doesn’t officially close until 7:00. The employees are rushing around like they are closing any minute, and are very short with you. It’s very frustrating since this is a huge change from what they normally are like at other times! We normally love stopping in, but will avoid going in the evenings now.

My husband and I visited for the very first time. We absolutely loved the variety! The store is absolutely beautiful! They had everything that we were looking for. Although I was very disappointed in the customer service. When we were looking through the indoor plants no one came up to ask if we had any questions. When I asked the girls working at the time questions that I had about different plants they were extremely brief. It seemed as if they didn’t want to help me. But other than that we loved the store. Hopefully the next time we visit we experience better customer service.

Stopped in because we saw the store from the freeway. It just happened to be Bring your dog day....Every single worker we encountered was personable, engaging and genuinely cared. They took time for a little casual conversation abd were so sweet to my big German Shepherd Axel. Everyone petted him and wanted to visit with him too. (I have lived in Europe frequently, and have been to some fabulous nurseries.)I spent 168 American Dollars and got: fabulous, huge, and wonderfully colored pots - taken from me and delivered to the front while I kept shopping; a large exotic Monrovia plant, 10 other plants of various size and quality - all in wonderful condition, as well as some gardening equipment.I know for a fact that if I had gone to Home Depot for the same things, I would NOT have exactly what I wanted - or needed, BUT, I would have spent the same amount of money. I surely would not have the help and advice, but HD is not where you go for that anyway.For reference, I have been, again with my friend - we seem to need plants no one else has) to the Jackson Road site several times, and had equal experience.I hope this business continues to grow and continue this wonderful service.P.S. And, every month the prices just keep increasing with no end in sight… You’ll know what I mean when you get there!An affordable miniature African Violet (AV) was $4.50 in January 2022. In February 2022, the same miniature AV took a price hike to $8.50 (doubling their money.) This is absurd when they can get wholesale prices. I of course love this place.. Brought my kids with me and they were complaining they were not interested in plants..I came out with two kids and a cart full of plants they want to care for I didnt have to say a word. This beautiful place did all the work 😀 thank you Green Acres
