One of the best BBQ spots in Simi Valley! Love this spot! I usually end up going with the Tri Tip Sandwich (the roll is garlic bread) combo that comes with 2 sides and a fountain drink. I got the baked beans and mac & cheese. The meal was absolutely delicious! They have several BBQ sauces here and my favorite is the Whiskey Habanero BBQ. Check this spot out cause it rocks!

The food here is pretty good. Especially the tri-tip sandwich. If they upgraded the bread/roll the sandwich would be amongst the best in town. The place could use a deep clean. Just wonder why employees let their place of work drop in standards. The worst part is how aloof the staff seems to be whenever you go in to order or pick up.The employees seem way more interested in chatting with each other than with the customer. Pricing is a bit high for the side-dish portions and poor bread quality. Seriously, with little improvement, I would definitely see this place at the 5-star level it used to be at.

Ample tasty tri tip sandwiches. That’s all we tried so far sandwich-wise. The meat counter had all kinds of sausages, steak cuts, marinated. They have several deli type salads like macaroni or seafood, even had Pistachio Cream which is basically Watergate salad, which I had to try and it was good! Need more time to look around. Bring an insulated bag incase you want to take unprepared food.

Love this place. The tri top sandwiches are so good. The market is awesome with a huge selection of meats and great fresh produce. They have a great selection of frozen game meats also. The staff is awesome and always friendly and helpful.

I’m a huge fan of BBQ and decided to try Green Acres for lunch . First impressions was good . I could smell the nice oak smoke and see the food on the grill. I ordered the tri tip sandwich . I was not completely satisfied. The portion of meat was sad for the price and I definitely didn’t like how shredded the meat because it took away the flavor and juiciness i was expecting nice thick cut tri tip pieces. I honestly don’t know how this establishment has 5 stars. Ive had BBQ in about 17 states and this falls below the top 10. Overall It just doesn’t taste like bbq to me.

This hot pastrami from the outside BBQ is the best pastrami Ive had in a long time! I didnt get strings of meat hanging from my lips after I took a bite 😂 I took a bite, the pastrami bit right off, it was tender and delicious 😋 Id highly recommend this and also the beef brisket sandwich was also tender and good. The BBQ sauce wasnt too sweet but had a nice tangy flavor.

If you like BBQ, you will love this place. Its so good that we plan our bicycle rides around this joint. Its clean and has outside seating, and although weve never been inside, I do believe you can get hard-to-find specialty meats inside. Staff is also efficient and friendly.We enjoy the fresh air outside, and dig the Trip-tip and Brisket sandwiches especially.

Recently I went in to Green Acres Market to get lunch meat in a few salads. I must have hit it on a bad day for all three of the employees I dealt with were not friendly. Borderline rude. The store was not busy so it wasnt like they were overloaded with work. There are lots of places in Simi Valley to shop and be treated a lot better. This is the second time this has happened at Green Acres Market. I wont be back for a third.

Amazing salad!!! Fresh greens and bbq chicken was grilled to perfection not dry but not burnt either. Usually order the tri-tip sandwich also delicious but this salad hit the spot on a hot summer day! I ordered the half salad very filling i had left overs.

I went on a HOT day, and the outside patio had misters to reduce the temp. Highly recommend the BBQ beef sandwich! Inside, the grocery store has extensive fresh specialty meats and blemish-less produce. Really nice displays.

Ive been going to green acres since I was a kid. I havent had their tri tip sandwich in almost a decade. I was excited when I arrived there and there was only one person in line ahead of me! So lucky. I waited a few minutes to take my meal home to eat it. If you want to eat outside, their porch dining is open. I had the tri tip sandwich and some potato salad. It was as good as I remember. Thank you for being a reason to come to Simi Valley!

I recently dined at Simi Green Acres with two business partners, anticipating a delightful post-Christmas dinner featuring the highly acclaimed local BBQ tri-tip joint. Regrettably, our visit was marred by below subpar service, specifically from the individual identified as JC, who handled our order.As a Simi Valley native and a returning customer, I approached the order process with enthusiasm, seeking recommendations for sides to accompany our tri-tip sandwiches. JCs dismissive response and lack of engagement were immediately apparent, setting an unfortunate tone for our experience.Compounding our disappointment, my order was incomplete, missing the macaroni and cheese I had requested. Politely bringing this to JCs attention was met with eye rolls, a condescending tone, and an overall lack of professionalism. This behavior left us bewildered and uncomfortable. To the point where I felt like I needed to apologize for ordering an additional side.Despite our courteousness, the negative demeanor persisted. It became apparent that JCs approach to order fulfillment lacked efficiency and customer-centricity. Rather than addressing the oversight constructively, her response conveyed an unwarranted sense of frustration.Our decision to refrain from further dialogue was driven by a concern for the integrity of our meal (which unfortunately did occur). Subsequent observations of JCs interaction with what appeared to be a management or owner, coupled with a subsequent order receiving a cold and unsatisfactory dish (cold unmelted cheese which we found out when we opened it) which reinforced our disappointment.The (3) of us ended up splitting (2) meals into (3) because of the one that ordered the Tri-tip philly cheese steak was cold, with unmelted cheese and did not want to go back. We definitely did not feel welcomed, JC was clearly being rude, disrespectful, and condescending. No shame.This experience was not reflective of the standards we associate with Simi Green Acres. Our embarrassment and dissatisfaction stem from the uncharacteristically rude, disrespectful, and condescending service we encountered on this occasion.This feedback is intended to be constructive, urging management to reassess internal processes, communication protocols, and training to ensure a consistent and exceptional customer experience. Hands down the best burgers in Simi!! They have great pulled pork and grilled chicken but their burgers get me every time. The market inside is great also. Nice selection of meats. Hopefully one day, theyll start serving french fries and my life will be complete.

We’ve been going to Green Acres BBQ for years. However, today’s lunch was disappointing. The lettuce in the BBQ Chicken Salad was not crisp at all. In fact, the salad was soggy. The Tri-Tip burrito was also so soggy it fell apart when I picked it up to eat it. Although, I was told their mild sauce had not been changed, it had a totally different flavor and color.Rather than finish our lunch, we both decided to toss it in the trash. Needless to say, we won’t be going back for lunch!

From RI and visiting my Son, daughter-in-law and GrandBabies and we look forward to our Green Acres dinner every time we visit Simi Valley CA. First, why go to the restaurant when Green Acres bring the restaurant to you? I ordered a 3 rib Ribeye roast, twice baked potato’s and the best Mac & Cheese ever! Not only are the cut choices among the very best but they cooked the entire meal to absolute PERFECTION!!! I e said it many times and will say it once again “I wish I had a Green Acres near me in RI”!!! All this AND every employee treats you like GOLD! What a professional organization Green Acres is. Finally, to prepare this roast with such perfection would have cost me most of my day but that’s to these guys I had more family time to spend. I hope you NEVER change Green Acres because you’re 1 in a Million!! 👍

Hamburger had zero flavor & the bun under the burger was sopping so I had to eat it in pieces. We ordered beef ribs, they were out of them (?!@#$).How does a bbq place thats specialty is selling and cooking ribs, out of food?? Makes zero sense. When were offered the (pork) ribs as a replacement, they werent cooked with any sauce on them, we had to dunk them in the sauce to have some sort of flavor.HUGE disappointment! We will never visit again, & will not recommended to our family/friends unless these issues are corrected asap.

Even giving a single star is being generous. I came to this establishment on my 30 minute lunch break and ordered to go. The man that took my order was just plain out rude, had no customer service skills, did not greet me, did not ask me if I was ready to place my order, and when I assumed he was ready to attend me his social cues insinuated I was bothering him. I get my order, drive away, and as I am quickly about to eat I realize there are no utensils for the 2 sides I ordered. I ordered potato salad and chili beans, how is one supposed to eat these two sides that were intentionally ordered to go eaten without a spoon or fork? Why wasn’t I informed I had to ask if they were only given upon request? I could not eat my sides and my tri tip sandwich was below par, as it did not have the side of bbq sauce as advertised on the menu. I would definitely not recommend this place if you are on a time limit, or at all since it was truly nothing special and barely even warm.

Ive only been here once but I really liked it! The food is super fresh and everything is organic. I got a salad and it was delicious. The ingredients are chunky and it looks and tastes real. They have some really good looking drinks and desserts. Only downside is that it is a bit overpriced... I feel like most places that offer organic/farm fresh ingredients are higher prices though. I would definitely recommend this place.

Between the persistent smoke in the air and the beef brisket that comes drenched in sauce I cant say Im impressed. Wood Ranch has better brisket that doesnt require sauce. Meat Locker has better portions in general. And anywhere else has a dining area that doesnt make you feel like youre eating outside during the Thomas fire. Maybe the sandwiches are good? I dont recall. This review is for the attached eatery, not the market itself.

Great food. I drive over 170 miles round trip, that good of food. Customer service and organization needs a lot of improvement.. pre-order meal pack the past three visits, each time not ready and you see staff scrambling then no apologies for 10 minute standing there waiting ticket number to be called, then another 15 while they ask employees about order.. at least 10 people behind counter and its like watching mice in a maze

I went into the store part and stood in front of the deli counter over five minutes without being acknowledged or asked if I could be helped. If the employees inside were all with customers I would have understood, but they were not. Thought I’d give them a try being I go by there daily, but with service like that I’ll never try again. Nice place, it is smaller then a regular grocer, but it has a more intimate feel. Meat section has a large selection of various meets. Staff is always friendly. They do complete meals for major holidays that greatly reduce stress.

Always go in for pre-made deli salads or sandwiches. Im not sure if its organic or if its just a fresh market but its worth it. Inside it looks like they have fresh produce as well. Also on your way in on the left hand side they have fresh local honey with small box honeycomb of bees.On the side attached to market they have a bar you could sit at & order burgers, BBQ & sandwiches.

Green Acres is awesome for high quality meat. They have a giant meat case that runs the whole length of the store anything you could imagine. Its not cheap but you get what you pay for. I love their outdoor patio for some good BBQ. I especially like the beef ribs meal that comes with chili grilled garlic bread and macaroni salad. Theres just something about that outdoor patio that I enjoy. All the employees are wonderful they are so friendly and so customer service oriented and you can tell there are a lot of regular customers.

We love green acres since we moved to Simi in 2015. However, I wish their pick up service gets better. Theres been multiple times that they made mistakes with our order. Either its missing a garlic roll, or an au jus, or just not the correct order! More often than not, Im in a rush. So I just go in and out because its for lunch time pick up.The food is great! Dont expect like a texas bbq in Texas coz its not. But its still pretty good! I love the market because of the selection of seafood, quality meats! They have a lot of good stuff here. Most of the staff are friendly. I havent came across a staff here whos not in a good mood lol.Their bbq sauces are soooooo good! Its a staple in our house! I freak out when were running low LOL!I wanted to give them 5 stars but overall, for now, coz of pick up service, Ill give 3 stars.

Went in March, when all this pandemic started. Great people working there and they had everything in meat that I was looking for. I talked to the owner for a few minutes and he was very nice, gave me a number and told me to go in. The number was for the meats. They were very friendly and fast, got every thing I ordered. Also stopped by the restaurant and got a sandwich, very, very good food.

Stopped here today. By far the best meat counter ANYWHERE! The service was wonderful and the smell of Tri-tip smoking on the outdoor grill will make this a destination shopping experience next time I am in the area. This was my 2nd visit. I has the tri tip sandwich. The sandwich had a generous serving of meat but was very dry. The roll tasted like it was rye and that just overpowered the sandwich and BBQ sauce. I dont think I would order this again. The side of baked beans was from a can. My son had the hamburger and it was delicious. The market itself is excellent. The produce is fresh and crisp and the butchered meat looks amazing.

We booked Green Acres to cater our wedding and I am so glad we did! The food was excellent! They were very professional. I made a few last minute changes and they were very accommodating. We got all of our rentals from Green Acres as well and it was great to only have one vendor for all the major stuff. We were very happy with them and would defiantly book them in the future.

I had to last-minute buy bone-in filet mignon steaks which is a rare cut to find around here, for a guest at the hotel I work for. Travis (I hope I recall his name correctly) and the other butchers at Green Acres came through big time for me when many other butcher shops i called unfortunately couldnt accommodate last minute.Also when I checked out, Ashley at the register scanned my steaks labeled filet mignon and noticed the bones through the butcher paper. She asked what they were to verify I got the correct pricing. I was impressed and grateful for her awareness and attention to detail, anywhere else nobody would have noticed or cared.This was my first time at Green Acres and it for sure wont be my last. This is THE place to go for all of your bbq needs!The quality of everything that they sell here is above and beyond good! Prices are fairly reasonable, not cheap but reasonable. Im very disappointed for years Ive been coming to green acres. Used an EBT card here before a few times when I was receiving assistance from the state. Now just became a single father and am forced to use that state for help and they no longer accept EBT after covid you would think any and every store that sell cold proteins would serve EBT/SNAP benefit customers, its not like the money isnt green when it hits your bank account super sad your missing out on all the business you could be earning.

This place is a quaint look into the past when your corner grocery store took care of your essential shopping needs. My wife and son and I went because the Tri-tip BBQ sandwiches were highly recommended. Yes, not only do they sell outstanding organic and everyday groceries they have an outside restuarant that cooks up a simple but well respected American food fare.The service was friendly and the food incredible. Id give it 5 starts but the flies were a challenge. But thats what happens when you have to sit outside. There is no enclosure. Other than that, I highly recommend this place.

This market has a small town, general store-like charm seldom seen anywhere, except for maybe the mountains. The staff is very helpful, super friendly, and its one of the only places int he county that has brisket. Their BBQ is also some of the best Ive had. Go here, you wont be disappointed.

This store has been here a long time. I went there the first time in the early 60s. Great for sandwiches and side orders for the or take out. If you need nice cuts of meats, this is where you want to go. Fast service and very helpful staff. It is a land mark in Simi and worth the time going. For the best meat in Simi Valley, nobody is better than Green Acres. It may be more than the chain grocery stores but it is worth the price. The produce and wine selection are excellent. Green Acres has one of those names that leaves you wondering a bit, and it is worth stopping in to check it out. It seems to be primarily a butcher shop / store with an outside restaurant area.Inside, you are greeted with a extensive array of meats and butcher shop staples like cut steaks, fresh seafood, and lots of different types of shop-made sausages. They have a great selection of spices, condiments, beer, and product. All of it is impeccably arranged, with not an onion out of place. The overall feel is that they take great pride in the joint, and it shows. You can order food inside, or outside, but all of the tables are outside to the right of the entrance as you walk up.When you walk in the food side, you can take a shortcut and order off the burger menu which they will start as soon as you walk in. If you want to order from the broader selection you step down a bit farther to order. You have a good selection of ribs, tri-tip, pulled pork. You also have some creative options like Chicken Ceasar Sandwich, and the Tri Tip Burrito.I saw the hamburgers they were huge. I ate the tri tip dinner, which came with chili / beans that was more like a great chili, and potato salad. The wife had the pulled pork burrito.They also have a good selection of their own sauces, which were very good.The outside area seats 80 and is heated if its cool, with awnings and curtains so its comfortable. They also have misters out there if its hot.We made it to this place finally as part of my search for good local BBQ after moving here from Kansas City. Including delicious house made cured meats, AS WELL as Boarshead brand.If you want good meat, this is the place to come. Forget Costco. This is the real deal.But....
