2024-03-08 00:47:31A nice spacious location with plenty of equipment varieties, free weights, machines, calisthenics areas and cardio equipment. Peak hours are as expected, crowded around 5 to close, but I have always found a way to fit in my workouts during those hours. I find the morning crowd suits my experience better. Fellow gym members are courteous and kind as well as the staff.

2024-02-25 07:34:54The cleaning staff mops the floor next to you with bleach when you are working out. They were mopping the floor with strong bleach next to me, and I was about to faint last night when I was working out. It smelled really strong and chemical. I asked them to stop cleaning the floor near me, but they didn’t care and continued. I went to the front desk and explained what happened, but nothing happened. It was so disappointing. I will cancel my membership. My health is my priority.

2023-06-13 00:05:40This gym is managed by children who have not been trained properly nor with any consistency. When I pointed this out their response was that how I spoke to the staff was unacceptable. I was stern but respectful yet these poorly trained children were offended by logic and reason. The manager was without skills or human empathy and told me that he didnt have time to talk to me or help me solve the issue. Yet Ramon made time to call me and issue me an official warning. I have no problem with adhering to consistent policy but I do have a problem of being warned because these children failed customer service 101. I was asking logical questions not badgering anyone. I asked for help and got laughed at treated like the angry black woman anyway . Micro aggression....So now we have all been warned...........,...Thank you for your response and customer validation. I certainly appreciate it. Thank you. I will continue to enjoy your facility 😊 as you have made my day.

2023-12-07 19:24:13TO THE OWNER:I appreciate your reply. However, the best way to restore my confidence in your gym is to use your email addresses to alert members right away about things such as classes being cancelled, or the closure of major facilities such as your pool, sauna and/or steam room. To date, and this is after you posted your reply, I have not received an email regarding the pool. Thanks,JeffIf I were just rating Gabe or Jasmine, Id give 5 stars. But this is about a negative experience I had, so Im only giving them 1 star.It takes me 30 minutes to drive to Golds Gym in Simi Valley. I go there a few times a month because they have an outdoor pool.I went on Tuesday, 12/5/23, for my swim workout. I sat down on the edge of the pool to get in. It was COLD. I knew it was too cold to do my workout. As I was getting up, one of the women I know from swimming, who was getting into the Jacuzzi, told me the heater was broken. On the way out of the club, I stopped by the Front Desk. (Both Gabe and Jasmine were exemplary examples of excellent Customer Service, and for that I am grateful.)I asked Jasmine, the Manager, Since you have the email addresses of members, why not send a notice to members that the pool isnt heated? She explained that any emails that go out need to go through the Marketing Dept. She said they initially thought it would just be one day that the pool would be closed, but then they found out that parts had to be ordered so it would take longer.I told Jasmine that I understood what she was telling me. But even if the pool was only going to be down for a day, members should be alerted to that.In addition to the pool not being heated, the Sauna in the Mens Locker Room was closed.Im 70 years old and Ive worked for a variety of companies. Its always frustrating when the higher ups dont listen to the folks who their day-to-day jobs.If people like Jasmine are put into a management position, one would hope that Corporate has elevated them to that position because it is believed they have common sense and know what is best for their members/customers/clients.Golds Gym, whether you feel it necessary for all email to be cleared through your Marketing Dept., or you let the managers of your gyms make a determination regarding notifying members they deem necessary, PLEASE consider alerting your members in a timely manner when issues regarding cancelled classes, and/or closed pools, saunas and/or steam rooms.

2023-12-16 09:53:53Dishonest, Predatory PromotionsMy wife and I were looking for a gymn, and saw that Golds Gymn was running a promotion where we can try out the gymn for one month, esentially for free. We tried it, and towards the end of the month decided it wasnt worth the cost and canceled the membership. A week later, I found the gymn membership bill on my credit card.I emailed customer service to get a refund since they charged me after I had canceled my membership. They told me that I needed to cancel 30 days in advance 😦So I had to decide if I liked the gymn after a single day? The advertisements and sales reps suggested the trial period was one month. So dont trust any of their promotions. Expect corporate to charge you the full price.

2024-01-05 17:01:45Clean and had all the nicest best equipment. Would have given 5 stars if they reopened their kid care room bc my workouts are sacrificed now that its been done away with. Really hard to find short term care so I can work out.

2024-01-03 05:03:18I got 2 memberships back in dec 2022 one was ended very quickly Im assuming never set up right cus never was charged for my younger son he had the more expensive plan to where can bring a friend with him. Then my older son Im still paying for and shows on my bank statements n he said they said he doesnt have a membership . I tell him multiple times to go cus it been paid for for a yr now he refuses. Well im definitely paying a visit and Im not happy that everything is so messed up doesnt sound hard to do I been doing gyms for 20yrs never had this problem .. n Im sure they wont care what I say so Ill just have to cancel and lose out on the money I gave them the past year its January2024 and it still shows they charge my card monthly yet they dont allow him in 😡 Im not paying for no one to go again I know I wont get my money back when I address this

2023-11-05 20:43:35The Simi Valley Golds Gym is terrible for a multitude of reasons (lazy and incompetent staff, rude management, false advertising), but the reason Im most frustrated about is the fact they advertise a kids club they dont actually have.Their website says they offer a kid zone. We drove 30 minutes away from our home gym (Northridge, which is awesome!) so we could bring our friend (who is a mom and couldnt find childcare today for her toddler). They currently advertise on their website that they offer this amenity when in reality they havent provided the service for over a year. However, the front desk receptionist said we could still bring the toddler inside. Not even a few minutes later management flagged us down and kicked our friend out with her baby. Management followed her to make sure she left the building and didnt come back inside. Absolutely disgusting and inexcusable behavior. Based on reviews, this location is known for bullying people. After our visit today its clear those reviews are very true.
