I cant recommend Dr. Coufal enough! Im still recovering but he has been great every step of the way. Not only is he a great doctor and surgeon but he is a wonderfully nice human, which I think is just as important. The staff has been great and scheduling has been really easy as well. Five out of five stars.

Dr Kronick is a wonderful and highly competent surgeon. He has performed two total joint replacements on me and I am extremely satisfied by The outcomes and his surgical skills. He has a genuine concern for his patients and a wonderful bedside manner and the assistance provided throughout my recovery by him and his team was integral in my recovery.

Hand a traumatic radial break secondary to a fall. After the ER stabilized the break with a splint I was able to get an appointment with GSOS and Dr Coufal quickly. The facility located in Walnut Creek is very nice, warm and welcoming. They were able to do x-rays immediately and then replace the splint in their state of the art casting room. Dr. Coufal has outstanding bedside manner and was kind and thorough. He explained the images and recommendations and then scheduled me for surgery the next day. I am now about 1 month post op and my arm is feeling much better. The incision is clean and straight, mobility returning and pain minimal. Dr Coufal and his team turned a trauma into a great healthcare experience.

I’m looking at other reviews of Golden State Ortho and they are mostly very accurate. The best summary is to say the doctors and nurses who work here are fabulous, but the systems and procedures are absolutely horrible. I had rotator cuff surgery in December (2022) and it went very well. But my surgeon left the practice shortly after and I believe it was due to the change from Muir over to Golden State. I was on the phone for hours trying to get my MRI scheduled and to set up an appointment to see the doctor initially.The front desk staff seem to be just as frustrated with the systems as everyone else so I’m not really sure where the blame lies.It’s kind of like going into Safeway on Broadway. Everyone there is awesome and helpful but the store is a disaster.If you plan on using Golden State, just be prepared to spend a lot of time making appointments and getting through their systems and when frustration sets in, just remember I told you so.

Dr. Michael G. Michlitsch, MD & his clinic is second to none. Accommodating clients as they walk in the doors. Providing exceptional care. When in for knee evaluation. Got X-rays same day in the office didnt have to drive to another facility. Explains things very good. I couldnt been in better care. Quality of care makes all the difference in the world. Thanks again Doctor Michlitsch & staff.It was a pleasure.

Dr Moorthy has been taking care of my mother after he performed hip surgery on her. He is very caring, passionate about his patients and his work. His after care has been great also. I would highly recommend his services. Thank you for all you do! N

Dr Moorthy is a brilliant surgeon. He operated on my foot and as he promised it is good as new. He was both patient and emphatic as we together planned my course of treatment. My experience could not have been better.

Dr Preston diagnosed and treated my chronic shoulder condition that was very painful with certain movements. I am now feeling great and able to use my shoulder without any more pain. I’m glad I made an appointment to see him at Golden State Orthopedics in Walnut Creek, it was a very nice overall experience.

Dr.Chris Coufal was great from the beginning. My knee surgery went perfectly and the follow up has been friendly and efficient. He has been great to work with. Highly recommended.
