2024-03-30 16:59:29This company did a good job on the solar panels but horrible, horrible communication. First, the solar panels worked great, but now I’m paying through the nose to PG&E. And their big promise was. “ If you get solar panels at the tune of $ 63,000 dollars you won’t have an electricity bill anymore! ! I neglected on getting the Tesla Powerwalls, because at the time of the install which was a few years ago, they were grossly expensive and way bigger than now ..)” This whole solar thing has become a giant headache . It all turned out to be a total lie because my recent true-up bill was $3700. Plus, I’m having bills every single month sometimes twice a month. This only means that I have to pay PG&E twice a month just to stay above water. I had my PG&E bill on auto pay, but PG&E was robbing me so I discontinued from auto pay!.. hee .hee! This is crazy because I have 57 solar panels on my roof. They’ve been out to my house a few times to update 2 inverters for Four 4G monitoring, and it’s been an absolute nightmare. What was the whole point of getting the monitoring systems in the first place, if I can’t monitor my damn system?? Some young guy came out and updated one inverter to 4G. He completely neglected to do the other one! .He claims he didn’t have the correct kit. Why in the heck do I have two different inverters in my attic in the first place, I will never know. But clearly, this was never explained to me at the time of the instal or even before. Someone comes out again to install the other $750 4G kit and lo and behold, the dunce, I mean young man brought the wrong kit again! Now I’m waiting for them to get the right kit. This is only to update the solar for online monitoring.. I’m considering involving my lawyer in a minute. They’re happy to take your money or to come in and install some thing else for more money but when it comes to Customer Service ? . It’s a negative. Very, very unhappy and pissed off! It really displeases me to have to write such a review. These guys were great until the headaches began. Buyer be completely aware… more reviews to come. Also, I will post photos of the panels. They’re beautiful. However now I’m only hoping that they will start working successfully.

2024-06-14 03:18:56First and foremost I do not like to wright these! This company is horrible they have terrible service! They installed our solar 50k worth of panels. They left screws sticking out into my living room ceiling where everyone can see them! It has rained in my living room in several places due to their poor quality of work! I attached pictures so you can see the screws hanging into my lovely living room! They came to try and fix the screws by cutting them and painting over them with a random white paint to hide their mistake. They also promise to give you 500.00 referral fees for who you refer to them we have yet to receive any of the money. One of their employees Nathan Pieters is who I have dealing with. He has told us on several occasions that we were approved for the referral fees and this has been going on for months now with no communication from them! They dont return our calls or emails anymore! I do not want this horrible service to happen to anyone else. We hope these folks we did refer aren’t having any problems like we have had!

2024-05-07 03:46:56Dont trust this company. They took over a year to install my clients system. Theyve become unresponsive to the clients requests for repairs due to a leak that occurred underneath where the panels were installed. Lastly, they havent paid out the commission for this job. Theyre two months delinquent and I havent gotten a single call. Ive left them voicemails and sent emails but nothing. Good luck to anyone taking a chance with them

2021-10-14 16:01:20My overall experience with Gold Rush Energy has been fabulous. I originally started my solar journey with another vendor, but due to having a metal roof, found my way to Gold Rush. Their expertise with metal roofing was key because other providers do not have the experience to install solar on these types of roofs. The quoting process was easy, the prices fair, and they showed up on time for the installation. The installation crew was fabulous--they had a team of 10 out here and had the installation of the panels completed in less than a day. They had to restack my electrical panel to accommodate the inverter and this was done well, although we did have a minor issue with a breaker later. They sent Timothy McCray back out to the house to address that issue and to fully provision the inverter with new firmware. They also pushed through the PG&E Permission to Operate in almost no time at all. So overall I am very pleased with my experience with Gold Rush. And let me say again that all their guys are GREAT, especially Timothy McCrary!!

2019-08-30 20:40:02This is a long review, hopefully worth you taking the time to read.Weve been working on getting solar on our property for 4 years now! It has been a very long journey for us, for most it should not be this long but we had some interesting challenges. When I started the process we had three different meters on our property, one of them is 3-phase. We are now down to 2 meters, but having multiple meters added to the complexity. We also had wanted to put the solar panels on the roof of a barn structure we have, but unfortunately the building was not permitted properly by the previous owners. We also have a lot of tall Ponderosa Pine trees on the property that created a ton of shade issues.Add to these issues the fact that we use a lot of power, so we were talking about installing a large, 60 panel residential system. All of these factors, and some others, made it very difficult to deal with many other solar companies. Some didnt even want to talk to us. We got into contract with one company and they couldnt complete the job, or werent willing to deal with the challenges. Then, when we were about to give up, along came Daniel Ramirez and the growing team at Gold Rush Energy! They dove right in and were able to solve the last challenge we had as well. Once we decided to go with a ground mount system we wanted to have a raised system so our animals could use it as a shelter in the pasture. Most companies were not offering something like this whereas Gold Rush Energy had it in their portfolio.Due to the multiple power meter aggregation and the removal of one meter that we had, things took a while to get through PG&Es approval. The Gold Rush team were constantly hounding PG&E to get that approval done and giving me regular updates. Once we received our final approval the installation was scheduled for the next week!I was initially a little worried that this is a growing company, what was the crew going to be like, how was their equipment, etc. They came on site with about 8 people, all very good work ethics, and some fairly new trenching equipment and tractors! They had a huge raised panel system to install and over 400 of trenching to do through some hard ground. I was impressed in how they got this project done!If they can get through a difficult project like ours, they should have no problem with any other system they are working on!Really looking forward to our solar production and seeing what our first annual true-up bill will look like, we should end up net zero with our efforts which is our goal! Thank you so much to Daniel and the whole team at Gold Rush Energy!

2024-06-07 15:03:00So we got off to a rocky start. Due to my own expectations. That we under satisfied in the start. But boy oh boy! They pulled it together. And here I am a very satisfied customer. I am happy to say that… these days I deal with so many companies and their employees. That frankly don’t care. Nathan explained the process. I double check with my solar manufacturer. I’m online now! This solar thing has been a hassle. Trying to find a company to take over. Ugh to say the least. Thx u thx u

2024-01-24 01:00:45Installed in September 2023: 9.49 KW system, 26 panels RECNP2 365W, Enphase 8+, 200AMP Main panel swap. Solar Insure 30 warranty.First off, Im very happy with the price, quality of the installation and performance of the system. This company beats many of the big names out there by far in price and speed. Even though these big names were talking down smaller companies trying to convince me that bigger companies are better. Dont be fooled by pushy sales tactics of the big ones! Goldrush is never pushy, very respectful and took all my concerns and multiple changes I asked for seriously. My point is these guys are the needle in the haystack if you are a homeowner who is vested in your home and doesnt mind, looking over their shoulders giving them pointers and checking for potential issues along the way. I could almost give them five stars if wasnt for the communication issues and some minor touch up items the crew forgot. I compared about seven installers and multiple panel brands before committing to them. I dont think going solar is something you want to just hand off and hope for the best, you really have to study what’s out there. The Planning:There was an issue getting in touch with them in the beginning. I was chatting with some guy Alex he wasnt much help. Finally, I picked up the phone and got in touch with Ben. Ben is great to work with and was able to meet all my requests. When you get the engineering plan make sure to double and triple check everything. They can install any panel you want. I really liked REC and they were never trying to talk me out of it. Other big installers were always trying to sell me something else for the same price at worst performance. Or some high brand name that performs about the same for much higher cost. I got the Solar Insure 30 warranty, which is very cheap given the total cost of the project, to cover myself against the installer going out of business or retiring. The entire process from first contact to install took about nine months. PGE delayed the first NEM2 application by about 3 months, then I went on vacation after that PGE missed about 4 appointments for either the main panel swap or go live date. None of the delays were caused by Goldrush. The Install:The solar panels and main panel were installed flawlessly. However the finishing detail was missing in some areas. Make sure you double check all the work and make minor touch ups that for me personally weren’t worth a call or waiting another day for a tech to come out. Such as sealing around conduit where it enters the stucco, sealing screws in stucco, overhead mast and mainly weather proofing things that could become an issue years down the road. Those are things I could not give the 5TH stars for. If you want to chase them down waiting on the phone, then go ahead. Or just grab a caulk gun and some sealant, takes about the same time. You cant just turn your back and expect everything to fall in place, this is your home and you’re spending a ton of money to! But again, their prices are very competitive so for me it was worth it since Im pretty handy too so I didnt mind too much. There are no guarantees that the big guys out there would perform any better.Communication:There were some issues here, at the install they came out with the wrong panel brand. But no issues here since I was checking the product before they offloaded them. I had fully planned on double checking them and all other products that were delivered during the install. The next day they delivered and installed the right panels. There were multiple delays caused by PGE. Goldrush was able to get an update each time and they never missed their appointments.

2019-01-29 23:45:09We have been considering solar for years but the cost vs. return was not there. Last year, 2018, we started looking again and the price looked good so we contacted contractors both big and small including vendors from Costco, Sams, Home Depot and Lowes. We reduced the the choices to 4 and requested more details. Three of the four were local and looked most interesting so we requested more details. Two of the three offered panels that I was interested in, Panasonic and LG. So we were down to two.Gold Rush was very fast to respond. Jeramie called and set up a meeting time, showed up and made a very impressive presentation regarding options and price. Bottom line, Gold Rush had the best price and out performed all others. The installation:We live on 23 acres, lots of room, so I wanted a ground mount system for easier maintenance.Kavin called to do a site check. He had a device that included a sky camera and a computer that calculated sunlight for every month of the year. With that he checked different locations and suggested a space near the house. Jordan produced a “Solar access and shade report”.Kevin also took a lot of photos of the planned location, our electrical panels and our property for the system design team.We signed the proposed 18 panel, 5.4 KW DC system. The construction took three days. First day was mostly work planing. Dan and Ken worked up a materials list for the panels and electrical run into our main electrical panel.Second day a big crew ( 10 or 11 people ) and went to work. It was a real treat to watch them. They automatically helped each other as needed. Dan had a ditch for the wire conduit. I asked if I could drop a PVC pipe in it for water, “sure”. I brought up the pipe and as fast as I laid it out, one of the guys glued it together!Third day, finish up, test and call for an inspection.Every work day the site was totally cleaned up. From the time the project was scheduled until PG&E approved the hookup we got a phone call at the end of the day from Emily, Jessica or Michelle to let us know what is happening and when. The system is started November 16, 2018. I wanted to wait to write a review so I could comment on its performance. On a daily bases the system has generated between 10% and 75% of our power demand. By spring and summer we will be over producing so I expect we will have no PG&E bill for the year. PG&E does charge a fee of about $10 just for being hooked up.Gold Rush Energy Solutions is a TEAM of people working together to produce a high quality product and complete customer satisfaction. An excellent local company, congratulations Jordan Lykins - CEOand Daniel Ramirez- COO

2024-02-02 18:16:37Biggest mistake I ever made! To start off project is not fully complete after 3 years! And to top it off my last true-up was $5,000. So I started looking into it and my solar has not been working for the last 16 months! I called 3 months ago to get someone out to fix it, and here I am still waiting! Do not go with this company!!!
