Our guide Rauno had a pretty good depth of knowledge on the area, having lived there for many years. The bikes were the perfect match for people looking for exercise when desired but with a little assistance. The e-bikes were lighter than most so we could pedal unassisted, but also had varying levels of electric pickup that were color coded so you could understand what was happening with the bike. We picked two stops and tastings, which was perfect for us because we wanted to bike a little extra ways down the road and exercise, but also not sprint or rush. The service to bring the wine back and provide lunch was also really useful and well executed by our guide and the driver Holly. Big thanks to the whole team at Getaway Adventures!

We enjoyed the Sip ‘N Cycle tour with Virginia as our guide- what a wonderful day!! Plans were adjusted a little due to the current fires, however we still had the BEST experience! Virginia was the sweetest guide and not only made us feel safe and confident on our bikes, but was great to have conversation with as well! Can’t recommend this company or their experiences enough and we will definitely be repeat customers on our next trip to wine country!

My wife and I had a fantastic experience with Getaway Adventures. We chose them for our honeymoon and spent 4 days biking through Sonoma, with the first day taking us to the coast where we stayed in Bodega Bay. Preston and his team did a phenomenal job curating the perfect itinerary for us. They booked all hotels and had our bags transported to each hotel each night. The bikes were top notch and perfect for the longer 40+ mile days. All of the recommended stops, including vineyards and places to eat, were spot on. This was the perfect way to spend a honeymoon; Preston and Getaway Adventures made this an incredibly memorable experience for us. My boyfriend, his brother, and I had a FANTASTIC time kayaking with Raphael Vasquez yesterday. He was so knowledgable about the area and gave us some great post-kayak recommendations. On the actual kayaking trip he was helpful with tips on how to paddle/ maneuver and we even got to stop and go for a swim in the beautiful Russian River. 10/10 recommend.

We had the BEST experience with Getaway Adventures’ Peddle and Paddle tour. Our guide, Alex, was very fun and knowledgeable. We biked along rolling hills for about 4 miles to a small family owned vineyard where we tried the grapes and tasted a variety of wines. It was such a quaint yet laid back vineyard that was absolutely beautiful. The wine was so good we shipped some back home! We had an amazing picnic lunch with sandwiches made from Oakville Grocery in a grove of Redwood trees. Then we paddled down the Russian river and were blessed to see a family of otters. The entire experience was incredible! If you are considering this tour or any other tour with Getaway Adventures, we highly recommend it! The only thing we would suggest is to have directions handy as internet was spotty and Google Maps wouldn’t load our map until we were about 5 miles down the road.

My wife and I (ages 39) signed up for the Russian River Peddle and Paddle tour while we were in town for a wedding in mid-August 2022. We were not disappointed! Our adventure started out in a cool, beautiful California Redwood grove. Raphael, our guide, was knowledgeable about locals sights, wineries, and the local ecosystems. We pedaled on a road for about half a mile through a green and lush forest, and when we got to the bottom of the hill, it opened up into a BEAUTIFUL warm valley of vineyards. It was a little warm at this point, but the wind from the bicycles and our athletic clothing kept us nice and comfortable. We stopped at the Gracianna winery for a tasting, plus short walk through their vineyards, then headed back to the Redwood grove (starting point) for a delicious lunch that Raphael had gone ahead and set up for us in the shade of the Redwoods. We then changed in to our sandals and bathing suits for the kayak portion of the tour (we kept these in our backpack, but you could easily keep them in your car at the parking lot) and started our Russian River tour. We saw beautiful ducks, a hawk, and tons of fish, plus all the beautiful flora along the way. We only got warm a couple times despite the 90 degree weather, because you could easily just splash some cool water on you. We did swim twice to REALLY cool off (the water felt around the 70s) and after soaking for a minute or two, my body felt great again to continue without being uncomfortable at all. Raphael was also able to take many photos along the way, both with his phone and with ours, and made a great record of our trip without us having to worry about it. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to bike/taste/kayak in the Napa or Russian River Valleys (it was maybe a 45 min drive from our Airbnb in Napa).

Great bike rental and ride on West Dry Creek road with the hybrid e-bikes! We made it out to Yoakim Bridge, crossed over with Canyon Road, had delicious pizza at Diavola in Geyserville, then came home - all after starting a bit later at 11am.Most of all, it was helpful people who made this a fun ride. Preston and Gio let us take our time to find the right bikes and route. I highly recommend renting or doing a tour with them.

Great time. Wood was a very knowledgeable guide and made our time that much more enjoyable on our Calistoga bike ride. He offered to take lots of pictures check in on us at each winery but not to much just enough to make it enjoyable. Wood had lunch at the second winery for us. Great job.

Our experience was fantastic! Randy and Leonard had us all ready for the day, gave us maps and pointed us in the right direction. It was easy to reserve, sign the waver and we were off and riding. They understood what the purpose of our adventure was, which was a group of nine that wanted to leisurely ride around the town and the vineyards. We rented two hybrids for a week to tour the three valleys from Getaway Adventures. Randy gave us excellent advice on routes to take and spent time making sure the bikes were adjusted to suit our height/etc. Later in the week one of our bike clips failed and Randy met up with us to change out the peddles so we could continue with our adventures. If you’re looking for tailored customer service from folks that know the area, that know wine, that enjoy biking- this is your place!!

They made sure we didn’t crash and selected smaller vineyards/wineries for us to visit which we otherwise would not have known about- Twomy and Tedeschi, both excellent choices. Loved learning about wine farming, wine making and of course tasting the different varietals. We really enjoyed our time in Napa and excited to visit again! Thank you Joe and Wood!!

Loved our Sip & Cycle tour! Gwen was a fabulous guide and biking companion, and our day couldn’t have been smoother or more pleasant. We loved the gorgeous views along the route, the stops to visit the wineries, and the great lunch. The bikes were comfortable and an easy ride. We opted for e-bikes, but could have done without. Didn’t use the power booster much, but it was super fun when we gave it a try at the end of the day. Everyone we met at Getaway was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and fun to be around. This was a well planned multi bike trip. We had a great time riding through Sonoma county. Preston at Getaway adventures was a great trip planner and an excellent resource to us. It was a beautiful area and we loved visiting vineyards by bike. The routes are can be challenging and hilly at times. We upgraded to the road bikes because we are most comfortable on them. The hotels were very nice and the towns we stayed in were quaint and enjoyable.

The bikes are well taken care of, and the pack attached to the handlebars is perfect for your essentials and some extras! I had made the reservation ahead of time and filled out waivers online so it was a quick grab and go. We were vacationing and did this 🚲 tour (4 in our party) and although the weather didn’t cooperate and it rained most of the day, it was a great time! There were definitely a few more challenging hills, but the bikes were great and the easy gears made a huge difference. The back roads were scenic and we were well paced. Our guide Alex was awesome! So easy going yet engaging and he knows a good amount about the area. Very considerate guide and he was always looking out for the group. The provided lunch was delicious, I need gluten free and there was no problem accommodating that. All in all a really fun day & we were so glad we added this to our vacation. Company was great to work with. Awesome communication. Highly recommend

Had a 3-day rental of their Specialized Allez with SPD pedals. Great rental bike, Shimano 105 components, and great service. They recommended The River Belle B&B across the street, which was wonderful. They also recommended the Ride With GPS App, and had QR codes to upload for the various routes. We did the Russian River Valley Loop the first day, and the Colman Valley route to Bodega Bay the second day, which was a lot of climbing, and then returned via Guerneville, which follows the Russian River and is thus an easier ride. Overall a great experience!

This was our second booking with Getaway Adventures and our second Sip ‘N Cycle. We had a great time as expected and our Tour Guide, Jillian, was fantastic. She was full of knowledge with local history and general info regarding the wineries we stopped at. She gave us additional info for other activities in the area and recommended other wineries that we weren’t able to get to on our tour. Overall A+ experience and will do again next time we’re back to Napa Valley.

The shop is situated in a perfect biking area and we did a ride they suggested that was one of the most beautiful bike rides I have ever taken. 1. The ride recommended by GA was good.2. The people at GA were knowledgeable and helpful getting the bike ready.3. CA-128 segment after Chaulk Rd was in terrible shape. There was very little flat surface in the right 3 ft of the lane so had to slow down.4. I will rent again from GA but will not do the same ride5. The Specialized road bike has a similar geometry as my Trek so it was an easy transition

Took the Calistoga E bike tour. Alex was a charming host, the terrain is very easy to navigate, so an E bike was not really necessary. I could have used even more bike riding time. The two wineries were absolutely lovely.

Our group had a great time on the bike tour. We had a larger group of 8, went to two awesome wineries in Dry Creek Valley area, enjoyed an excellent lunch while getting in some exercise. Gwen was a great guide along the bike tour and kept us safe with the traffic along the road. Being our first time to the area the views were breath taking! We recently completed a kayaking tour on the Russian river. Overall we had a nice time. We were a little disappointed because the company put us on the wrong tour. We booked the Mild to Wild tour but was given the Peaceful Paddle. Unfortunately we didn’t know it until we were about half way through the tour. Our guide, Raphael Vasquez, was excellent. He was friendly, knowledgeable and engaging.

Taste, Pedal and Paddle tour was awesome. I can’t say enough about the day. Rafael, our tour guide was fantastic, taking care of our every need. The day was gorgeous- warm with a nice breeze. The biking portion was just the right length of time. We then stopped at a small winery to enjoy some delicious wines. Lunch in the picnic grove was excellent. We finished the afternoon kayaking on the Russian River enjoying the gorgeous scenery. Highly recommended- you won’t be disappointed!

Getaway did a wonderful job setting us up for bike rental for our wine country ride. We did road bikes which looked brand new even though 2 of them were last years model. They had them ready and waiting for us with our names on them. Getaway provided helmets and had other things there for purchase like a normal bike shop - water bottles, bike gloves, etc.... They got us fitted on the bikes, provided maps and directions and pointed us to a great place for lunch when we told them our route. Their high level of service certainly helped set us up for a wonderful day of riding up the valley. We rode for one morning but the experience made us think that a great trip would be to ride every morning and then do tastings in the afternoon. We highly recommend these folks.

The ride through wine country was absolutely beautiful. We rode about 9 miles total. The bikes are well kept and easy to ride. There is a small fanny pack attached to the bike for belongings. So unless you have a backpack I would not bring excess things to carry. We went to two wineries with lunch by the Oakville Grocery at the second stop. They were both lovely and the lunch yummy. They had advertised 3 to 4 wineries, but 2 stops was plenty. You do have to pay for your wine tastings. I do think the tastings should be included in the cost of the package as I think its slightly expensive otherwise. Our guide went back to the wineries to pick up the wine we purchased which was really nice as there is no way to carry wine back on the bikes. Overall it was a really lovely day.

We had the most amazing sip and cycle tour with our guide Patrick. He properly fitted our bikes, gave us the itinerary and we were off! We rode around 15 miles with 3 vineyard stops. The ride was absolutely gorgeous and very scenic. The vineyards were amazing and we even joined one. A van picked up our purchased wine and had it back at the end of our tour. They provided a wonderful lunch at the 2nd stop. Our guide Patrick was fun, very knowledgeable of wine and all outdoor activities in the area. He took photos for us and made it a very memorable day!

My husband and I rented 2 bikes from here for a self-guided ride to two wineries outside of Healdsburg (Comstock and Truett Hurst). When we arrived, our bikes, helmets, locks were all ready to go. The staff also provided us with an easy-to-read map, bottles of water (but make sure you bring your own too!!!), and talked us through how to find our way out of town. The bikes were in great shape. It was a 95 degree day and we did 17 miles, but it was a great experience! The wineries we visited were on Dry Creek Road which doesnt have any bike lanes. If youre a fairly confident biker and not bothered with cars going pretty fast close to you, youll be totally fine. Some parts of the road had a decent shoulder. The staff and bikes were excellent. Would definitely rent from them again.

This was a fun trip! Believe it or not, I had a gift certificate that was given to me back in 2016. After making several phone calls, they were nice enough to honor the gift certificate with some upcharge due to the 6 year difference in pricing. If you want an electric bike - you can but that is subject to an additional fee. (you really dont need, if you dont mind a few rolling hills) We rode for approximately 16 miles and visited 2 wineries. Both wineries were wonderful and both delivered a very personalized wine tasting. Both wineries were small - but just the way we like them! Lunch was served at our second stop and the food was perfect. A little disappointed that our trip did not include one more stop. Our tour guide Antonio (I believe this is correct) was great. Our fellow riders were also friendly which just made the trip more enjoyable. Cons: If you are a cyclist - you do have to remember this is a guided tour and the pace is much slower than I would have liked. I think the trip is expensive - lunch is included in the price - but the tasting fees were not. Sonoma wine tastings are high in my opinion, which we spent an additional 130.00 + tip to our guide. So total all in was around 700.00 for the two of us. Setting aside the cost for this adventure (especially being I didnt pay the full amount) - I gave them 5 stars - because the trip was fun and the experience was great.

If you already know how to ride bikes comfortably, Dustin had chill vibes and gave you autonomy to go at your own pace and was cool with whatever as long as you just stayed together. Our first time on a bike tour we werent sure what to expect. Randy at Getaway Adventures designed a custom 6 day/6 night self-guided tour for us that took us around Sonoma County. We chose hybrid bikes and it was the right choice for the experience we wanted, but Getaway offers road bikes and e-bikes too. Near Healdsburg we biked the Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys, then proceeded town to town seeing the Russian River Valley, Bodega Bay, Highway 1 along the coast, and Armstrong Redwoods. Randy provided a route for us to take each day with recommendations of places to stop for food and wineries to visit. The biking gave us good appetites and the food we had was excellent. There is so much wine available so we wanted to do tastings each day, and ended up buying some wine along the way. Randy coordinated having it shipped home to us which exceeded my expectations. The only thing we didnt realize beforehand is that you are not riding through vineyards. You are partly on main roads and mostly on a bike path. Both were fine but not as nice as the vineyards themselves. Lunch was set up on the front patio of a tasting room. It would have been much nicer to do it on a picnic table surrounded by the vineyard rather than the parking lot. But we had a fun day and I would recommend it.

For us, the biking was not as leisurely as we had expected (be aware that it is an actual roadway they need to take you on to get to the wineries), but that is our comfort level and may be exactly what more adventurous groups are looking for. Our family of novice kayakers did the Russian River Bike & Kayak Tour, and all of us LOVE LOVE LOVED it! Sometimes its hard to entertain 2 teens, but this tour made it easy. We did the Russian River Kayak Tour and we really enjoyed it. The equipment was great (double kayak felt stable on the river, padded seats were comfortable, paddles and vests were in good shape). The guide provided us water and sunscreen as advertised. Picnic at the end was delicious and followed our dietary preferences (one vegetarian, one not). Our guide Lara (sorry if the spelling is not right) was a really fun person to chat with. It was an overall pleasant experience which I would recommend to anyone! :) Just do not plan anything intense for the next day - we were pretty exhausted from the day on the river - in the best possible way though. Also put on more sunscreen than you think yo need - we were really dilligent about it and still got some mild sunburns.

First, let me say that Cat was a great guide and put on a fabulous lunch. If she had used a speaker / communication system, we might have heard what she was saying to the person riding behind her.I was in a group of 6 women most in our 50s and 60s. We took the Healdsburg biking tour, and it was less than a 5 mile trip. I think part of the reason was our ages and the heat wave didnt help.The wineries were very close together and were very nice, but since the tasting fees are not included, the fee paid for the trip ($150pp) was too much in my opinion for a short bike ride with a nice lunch. Two of us did ask to ride further rather than take in the last winery, so we did get to bike a little longer... adding about 4 more miles, I think. I wont do that again.

Friendly personnel, showed us how to use the electric bicycles, and gave us a map. Healdsburg is a nice place to ride. We rode around the area, then went into the city to do some shopping in the square. All in all a nice experience.

We used Getaway Adventures for a guided bike riding/wine tasting tour at Healdsburg and then kayaking down the Russian River. Both were great fun!! The lunches with both were delicious, healthy, and nicely prepared. We had Justin for the biking who educated us on wine making while biking thru the beautiful vineyards. The second excursion, kayaking in the quiet & serene ambiance of the Russian river provided a pleasant & informative experience with Randy (who also graciously taught us how to skip rocks during one of our beach stops). Both were great guides. Everything about Getaway Adventures is professional & well done including the quick response back when calling about the different offerings. I would highly recommend this company for outdoor adventures!!!!

I rented a standard hybrid bike for a day of biking in the Healdsburg area. I was joining two friends who already had bikes. Pickup was a breeze - they offer you everything you could need (map, lock, helmet, light). Everyone at the shop was incredibly friendly.

We are newly weds and chose this as our day after wedding activity. So glad we did this and so glad we spent the extra money for ebikes! E bikes were easy to use.The bikes were ready for our use right when we arrived and the staff was very detailed at sharing us the routes we could take and how to use the ebike. Bikes were equipped with locks and helmets were provided.Lots of fun and going to definitely return back and recommend to others!

Beautiful bike ride through the Calistoga area of Napa Valley, with stops at vineyards.Scenic, flat terrain, mostly on non-traffic roads. We covered approximately 12-15 miles.Our guide, Tommy, was very careful to assure our safety.Tommy also brought an extremely delicious, gourmet lunch, well above what we expected!! Scheduled a self-guided kayak tour with Getaway Adventures. Service was good. The shuttle to the river was actually just their SUV which was nice (given covid) because we were the only two in the vehicle. When we finished up down river, they were there waiting for us and took us back to their shop where our car was parked. All in all a good experience

My two sons and I did a kayak trip down the Russian River with Don as our guide. We had a great time paddling, and Don provided a great lunch at the end of three-hour trip. Don is very personable and helped with our less than stellar kayaking skills. Overall, it was great trip, and we look forward to going on another kayak or bike trip with Getaway Adventures.

This was a huge disappointment! We booked the tour six weeks in advance confirming by phone as well as email. We were looking forward to this above everything on our vacation. The company lost our reservations that we paid $500 for and the guides were not able to reasonably accommodate us. We were promised a refund that I’m hopeful we’ll see but we drove over an hour to the destination and we’re unable to book something else on short notice in the area. On top of that we weren’t able to get a cell connection in the area and got lost trying to find other activities wasting a good portion of our day.

Our tour guides, Justin and Gwen, were fantastic. The other members in the tour were great. We visited two wineries and one was in downtown Calistoga. Brian Arden Wines was a fabulous winery in a beautiful location overlooking vines. The atmosphere is what you would expect when visiting Napa. The winery downtown was lacking in atmosphere. For the cost, visiting just two wineries, with one downtown, was not worth the money. Our gourmet lunch was also not up to Napa standards. With all the great food available, along with farm to fork options, I would not have expected bagged salad. Again, the tour guides were great. The tour can be improved by including more wineries and not including tastings in town.

JP is the best bike guide ever! We were on our honeymoon in Napa and JP took us on an amazing full day bicycle tour of the valley. He was funny, relaxing, knows a ton about the area including the people, and even when I got a flat tire, it was a non-event. JP gave me his bike, and raced ahead to the van to make the repair while I kept riding with my wife. This was the highlight adventure for our honeymoon and for any guided tour, the guide can make or break the trip. JP made ours one we will never forget!

Cat also gave us some tips and insights into winemaking and prepared an outstanding lunch for us at the winery. The visits to the wineries were very good and informative.
