These guys know their stuff. I had my Aston Martin DB9 in for an oil change and they noted that the serpentine belt was beginning to fray. There isn’t an Aston Martin specialist within 100 miles so I asked German Performance to order and install the parts. All was done quickly and correctly. Very good and professional customer service.

Best honest and friendly German repair shop that is a diamond in the rough.I brought my 5 Series to German Performance because a smokey tail pipe. I was going to bring it to the dealer but a friend and all the great reviews had me change my mind. I.was told the repair cost would be over $2400 dollars and the day of pick up they said it was actually something else and the price went down to $800. Who does that? That showed honesty and Im definitely going back for all repairs.

Returning from a family road trip, my Audi Q7 showed an alarm and the engine started banging just south of Atascadero. After turning the car off and on, I was able to get to German Performance. With no heads up and a full garage, they immediately ran diagnostics on my car. They went over the results with me and were able to tell me that I could make it back to the San Francisco area. They then told me that there was no charge. I was floored. They easily could have told me that they needed to do the work, but were more interested in helping me and then didn’t even charge for that. This is an honest (and caring) shop.

Had a timing belt replaced and a water pump at the same time. It took them a day and a half which is great timing. I was quoted a week at another shop. Immediately after receiving the car back I took it on a 600 mile test drive and it ran beautifully. Great communication. Great communication, great skills and great timing… The cost wasn’t terribly either. Thank you guys I’ll be back.

This is my 3rd time taking my BMW to German Performance. I took my car in for a routine service, they found a problem which they informed me and repaired it. Unfortunately, there was a minor problem post the repair but they too care of the problem immediately and I was a very satisfied customer!!

Hey guys it’s Burt, Been a customer of German Performance for a year or so, this shop is the one of the best of the best when it comes the maintenance and performance and everything in between. My car had been down for 3 months do to some bad wiring connections. I took it to them and they fixed it immediately and for a great price . Highly recommend German Performance for any maintenance or work needed on your BMW.I have a X5 and it had a hot smell coming from the engine. I took it to them, they inspected it and determined that I needed to have the Valve Cover Gasket replaced. They ordered the parts and I had an appointment in a week. When we moved to the Central Coast 10+ years ago I continued to drive south for service, for fear of making a mistake with the bad choice of a mechanic here.I followed the online reviews and asked my friends about their experiences but never felt comfortable enough to try a new mechanic. I finally kept hearing the same things from various friends and I was convinced to try German Performance. I could not be happier that I did.I started coming to German Performance Auto in July, 6 months after Felipe purchased the business. He and his crew are absolutely top-notch and I feel so secure in trusting my cars to them. By all accounts, they are painfully honest and thorough. We thought we needed new brakes on our 68 VW bug, but they found the brake system was all OK except for the master cylinder. That was replaced and its working great now! Once before we thought we needed something done with the oil cooler, and they just replaced some seals. I trust them completely to find the problem and fix it. Honest, good work! Highly recommend.

Probably the best shop to take your MKV Supra and German cars if you live in the central coast. Had a couple of parts installed, lowering springs, front splitter, side-skirts and rear spats.Mechanics and owner were knowledgable and easy to talk to. Getting scheduled is easy. Ive had a Mercdes for 36 years. This is the only place . I will ever go back to. In the past Ive tried the only other Benz mechanic shops. Where they broke things on my car and held it hostage for a year damaged my body work and gouged me. But German Performance.Let me say. They get your car in . its clean when I get it back. No new problems. And in under a day . very fair priceing.Just the other day I hit a button by accident and got a call within 30 minutes to help me solve my own mistake. Done. I go there to get help with fluids for my Benz. Done. No charge. Ive been useing them for years . Their great and very polite. Brought my car in for the first time. Initial meeting went well at 7:50 am. Received a call at 10:30 am describing what repairs were needed. Was told the car would be ready by days end. Waited into the late afternoon to receive a call. It never came. Called the shop at 4:50 pm. The call went to voicemail. Left a message wanting to know if the car would be ready for pickup. Never received a call back. Had to cancel a medical appointment the next day. I was hoping to find a shop that I would have a good connection with. Very disappointed.

They were willing to work with me on various aspects of this visit and seem to be willing to do the same on future work. I was driving north at night on the 101 when my auto gauges indicated that my alternator was failing.I left the car in their parking lot. The next morning they diagnosed my problem and found a new Bosch alternator in Texas. 48 hours later the part arrived and they immediately installed it. Good Morning Everyone...So, some of you may have experienced what I have in the past with an auto repair shop. Yes, your car comes back worse than it was AND they want more money...leaving you broke & with trust issues. Now you have to choose a different auto repair shop because your car wasnt fixed right & it came back with a NEW oil leak!!Well, thats where I was before I met Brian & Bob at German Performance!!I have a Volkswagen GTI, Turbo, 6 speed, its my Other baby!! It was right before Memorial Day weekend & My clutch went out!! The shop I usually go to was fully booked Beyond two weeks, so I started making phone calls!I called German Performance & spoke with Brian. He was very professional & quite easy to talk to.. I told him the clutch went out in my car & the place I usually go to wasnt available. I also told him that I had trust issues about bringing my car to somebody else, & to please bear with me...He laughed & said go ahead & bring it on down. He said that he would take a look at it first & let me know what all needed to be done.It turned out to be A lot more than just my clutch! It was also my water pump & my Radiator had a small hole in it which was A LOT BIGGER than I was told by another shop!! Though it took a little longer because of Memorial Day Weekend, my experience overall is that...I would DEFINITELY recommend Brian at German Performance to my friends, family & anyone whos reading this now!I got my car back & it runs better than it ever has!! Bob is very skilled & meticulous as an auto mechanic!! Every single time I take my Audi Q7 in for service. The staff is polite, willing to answer questions and give me an estimate of cost and the time it will take. Their service is spot on. They go above and beyond to make sure your vehicle is safe, runs properly and if youre close enough theyll pick up and deliver your vehicle. They have certified mechanics for foreign made cars which is a plus. Id recommend them to anyone for any automobile service or repairs.

Ive been taking my BMW to shops convenient to where I live, or who my family recommends etc- but after my last experience, Its been decided that my BMW will now only go to German Performance. Other shops see a variety of cars- and sometimes BMWs- but they really dont know, or understand the car specifically. The last shop I went to for a smog told me theres no way my car was going to pass- They tried a couple of things, and for three weeks, and several more visits to the shop, I was stressing out, wondering what I was going to do, as my registration was running out. I decided to get a second opinion and came here- after a quick once-over, they could not determine why it would not pass. I took it across the street to a smog station, and sure enough- it passed! Three weeks of freaking out over nothing! My car needed some routine service done- so back it went. The work was completed in a day- and for a BMW- was not a heart-stopping amount of money. Everyone at the shop is really nice and willing to stop what they are doing to help or answer questions. When it comes to my BMW, my peace of mind, and knowing it will get done right- it will only be serviced by German Performance in the future!

We live in Atascadero but took our MB E-350 to a big shop in SLO whenever it needed service. Invariably they found a little this or that that brought our costs up over $400 per visit. A couple years ago I tried German Performance here in town and we couldnt be happier. They provide great service and note items requiring work but always share the expected life remaining in systems. For instance, the SLO shop said we needed to do the brakes 3 years ago. We didnt bite and German Performance checked them last year and again 2 weeks ago. Front still have about 60% life and rear about 15% life remaining. They also shared that a light will come on when its time to work on the brakes. These guys deserve a pat on the back for honesty!

I had a MAJOR oil leak after getting my car serviced at a chain oil change place. The chain store didnt put in the right filter. Brian and crew corrected the mistake, fixed my beloved vehicle, and only charged me $77. Then told me I could go to the chain store and put in a claim! I had my 2007 BMW 530i (e60) in for transmission fluid change, transmission pan/filter change and brake fluid flush and change. I brought in the trans pan and the genuine ZF transmission fluid myself that I had purchased previously, and the guys at German did the service. This is the second time I’ve had this car worked on at German Performance and the work was done quickly and effectively, at a reasonable price. I will be back when I need next service.

I tried to do a coolant flush on my 02 Audi and managed to produce more problems than I had previously, right before a long trip. I came to Ricks while I was heading north on my trip when the problems started. They helped me diagnose the issue and although I couldnt get the work done at the time, they were very friendly and helpful. They found time to do diagnostics and explain it to me. You know your off to a good start when two other shops refer you to the same shop. From the time I walked in the door to the time my car was done Ricks made me feel like I was there most important customer.I came in to have them diagnose what abs sensor I needed to replace. 3 other shops quoted me $100 to $125 just to diagnose. Have had major repairs done here 3 times. They communicate clearly. This last time, there was an elbow joint that disintegrated when they removed a part to get at another area.
