I guess I’m a Mercedes girl as I’m on my third one… I used to religiously take my cars into the Mercedes dealer for recommended service…however I decided to take my current vehicle to German Auto Specialists and they are great. They are thorough, provide detailed quotes, and their service charges are more reasonable than the dealer. There’s never any pressure or upselling and I really don’t need a loaner or car wash …I’d rather just get my vehicle serviced. I feel like my vehicle is in good hands …plus I’m happy to support a local Simi business

I dropped off my 2013 Audi S4 here for a number of things that I couldnt do myself in my garage (motor mounts and other things), and I was extremely pleased with the quality and pricing of the work done!Dave was extremely thorough and kept in constant touch with me throughout the process, and Ibrahim(?) did an excellent installing everything I requested. All the staff in the office seemed extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They did not have any problems with me providing all the parts that I wanted to be installed, unlike some other shops I have been to.Im extremely picky when it comes to work done on my vehicles, and I will definitely return here when I need work.

Came in for an oil leak and coolant leak. They gave me a free inspection and let me know what issues were found. Let me know my oil pan bolts were loose and didn’t charge for me that. Honest mechanics and honest people. Never once tried to charge for something that wasn’t needed. Will be returning in the future.

Okay, so this is an update. Initially, I was super disappointed. Had my husbands car like 3 months to pass smog. Bad sensors, replaced multiple times, a battery we didnt really need, a few tows, etc. BUT...electrical in a BMW can be a never ending phantom problem. They kept at it, kept replacing sensors (and stopped charging us for them), kept driving it, and didnt give up. FINALLY, we have the car back, they smogged it, and its starting when it should. Raven and his shop most definitely stayed on it, finally got it figured out, and Im both happy and appreciative that they didnt give up. We will be back.

My mercedes was out of commission for 7 months, the techs or whatever they are called at Mercedes Benz Encino robbed me for 4,000 car stopped working a month after. Then I discovered German Auto Specialist... Car is up and running and so comfortable to drive. Not to mention service was cheaper, customer service was better. Cannot express this enough, I was about to ditch Mercedes till I discovered this shop.

I took my car here for service of spark plugs etc it was done proper & a fair price. So I went back for convertible soft top hydraulic repair, my car was kept for over a week and nothing was done. The supposed Office Manager was ducking & dodging my calls, and I was being lied to by the other staff too. I was fed up and drove there to see that so called Manager duck me hiding in the work area, even having another front desk delivery guy tell me this person will return my callback, but he was in the shop this whole time. We were approached by the tech Ibrahim who informed us, he was not the original tech who was assigned to this project, he will personally take care of us and make sure everything will be fixed and done right professionally. Long story short, the hydraulic was replaced, but they replaced the wrong one, and nothing was fixed. The Owner Raven was patient & professional; However they allowed that incorrect replacement part to stay on my car free of charge, but I had to pay for labor, which cost $500, and to top it off my issue wasnt fixed. I also found out Ibrahim was the initial tech assigned to my project, talk about a twist. He is a Liar! I went to pick up my Benz the hardtop was put on incorrectly, warning light was on, I fixed it myself there. There was a warning light on my dash. I got home to find my hardtop windshield defrost plug was not connected and it was left in between the hardtop & the car. I used my tool removed the hardtop, plugged it back in and the light went away. I shouldnt have to know more than the tech. That is not acceptable nor professional. This is not a german specialist shop period. At best I would compare this shop to a pep boys level technicians, if even that. My brother informed Raven our last service tech left oil marks on the car and was left dirty, he offered a complimentary wash. We got there he informed me they had no time.

The team at German Auto Specialist got me in and out with a replacement a/c compressor for my 2015 Golf in about 4 hours. Wished they could have just replaced the busted a/c pulley wheel bearing and a/c clutch but VW doesnt make it easy to just do that as those specific parts are seemingly impossible to track down for a 2015 (I tried.)

In 2022 I took my 2019 Porsche Cayman in for a pre-purchase inspection. I was very happy with their assessment of the car and decided to buy it on their recommendation. I used German Auto Specialist for oil changes and other service issues as they came up. I was very happy with the quality of work and their service.Since originally posting the review above, the business has changed ownership. I didnt know that when I took my car in for an oil change two weeks ago. The day after I had the oil changed, the low oil warning light came on. I called them, and the reasons they gave me for why it might have been low were laughable if not infuriating. I was spoken to as if I didnt know anything about car engines and systems.I took the car back, and the mechanic added oil to the car to bring it to full. That was something I could have done myself. After quite a bit of back and forth, the best reason they could give me for why it was low was No business runs at 100% without mistakes.I paid $240 for an oil change. When I asked who actually did the oil change, because I had my doubts as to whether an oil change had actually been done, a young man who appeared to be no more than 20 years old said he had. This is just my opinion, but Im guessing that that young man isnt a certified Porsche mechanic. And while it was only a simple oil change, I still want a qualified Porsche mechanic working on my car, especially if Im paying that much for it. If I wanted an untrained mechanic learning on my car Id have gone to Jiffy Lube.Im now in the process of looking for a certified Porsche mechanic I can trust. Ill go to a Porsche dealership for service before Id go back to this place.

My car had a really bad oil leak and I could not find the root of the problem. I took it to a mechanic shop and they told me they didn’t specialize in German cars and recommended German auto specialist. Took my car in and they found all my issues right away and every person I spoke to was amazingly professional and guided me through the whole process of my repair from part ordering, part arrival, parts being taken off and replaced, road test. They even got my car done a day earlier than expected and stayed late for me to come and pick up my car. If you have a German car then you need to have it taken care of at German auto specialist. They do quality work and the staff is amazing. They also have amazing prices on repairs. Will definitely be doing all my business with them!

I first used G A S two years ago while looking for an alternative to the dealer for annual maintenance on my S Class and E Class cars. After seeing how clean their shop was as well as the nice environment of the waiting room, I spoke with the owner Gino and felt very comfortable in having my cars serviced. I was not disappointed as the work was done on time and exactly as they had quoted me.I recently went back to them for service on my cars again. The cars were ready as promised without any pressure to do unneeded repairs. I’m very pleased with their service. I brought my e46 in after a low compression and misfiring diagnosis. I was under the assumption that I would need to replace the engine, and I even made the mistake of telling the mechanic what I believed to be wrong with the car before he had checked it himself. Left it with the mechanic for a day at his suggestion so they could do their diligance and Emilio had no problem revealing to me that the only problem with the car was a cracked spark plug. Emilios integrity cannot be questioned; I will be returning next time I need something. Real ones only over there.

These guys are the best! From beginning to end, I felt well taken care of, and confident in the quality of workmanship they offered.I found them on google, prior to any obvious issues with my car. I initially spoke with one of their female representatives (sorry I wish I could remember her name!), who was very knowledgeable and informative about my car, before she’d ever seen it! I planned on taking my car there, just for a general check-up and “once-over” after purchasing a 14yr old BMW. Well, before I could get to that, my clutch assembly completely gave out… (sad face). But thankfully, my first thought was to get it towed to their shop. It was late at night and after working hours, but I was still met with a quick response and answer to all my questions — from the owner himself! That’s some old-world quality customer service right there!Needless to say, they handled everything beautifully and had the cleanest shop I’ve ever seen! My previous review I gave this place a well deserved 5 star. Unfortunately, my last visit went sour. That was until I popped the hood after a couple of days. It looked like oil splattered all over the engine bay. It’s more profound near the firewall.This European car repair shop has been my go-to ever since I moved in Simi Valley two years ago. Ever since they’ve done a great job on both of my cars. This last appointment was last minute but the guy I talked to accommodated me and got an appointment the next day. They are aware that I need my car for the morning commute to work so they finished my car on time. While I was waiting, I’ve observed that they have a staff that moves the cars on the lot. He came in and talked to one of the guys behind the counter that when he test drove this particular car and witnessed white smoke coming out of the hood closest to the windshield. It’s clear he doesn’t know what caused it. After I heard their conversation, I didn’t care much because it’s probably not my car. Time came and my car was done.Two days after, I decided to charge the battery of my car since I’m not going to use it (business trip). When I lifted the hood, I was shocked with the spillage of oil all over. It stained the plastic cover near the windshield with multiple sizes of oil stains. There are some drops everywhere in the engine bay. I touched it and smelled it and yup, it’s engine oil. So this explains it while they’re finalizing my invoice that they used almost 6 quarts of oil but only charged me for 5 and the son’s owner says it’s a discount. I guess I know where the other grams of oil went.All I wished was they would own this mistake and correct it by cleaning the mess that they did BEFORE I drove away.I guess it’s time to look elsewhere.

The German Auto Specialist team, headed by Gino and Debbie, did a fantastic job with my Cayenne Turbo S. Gino was able to diagnose the issue (transfer case) very early on and him and Debbie dealt with the auto warranty company extremely well.Their communication with me was great and their entire team obviously takes great pride in their work. I’m in no hurry to need a major repair anytime soon, but I do know that if something transpired, me and any other vehicle owner will be in great hands with the German Auto Specialist team. Everyone working in this location is very professional, friendly, helpful and super honest. They only do what is needed. I went in for my 40,000 mile service and they checked everything - filters, fluids, etc but said all that my car needed was an oil change, top off of fluids and setting the tire pressure. Their pricing is so reasonable and they do not try to upcharge or repair/replace anything unless it’s actually needed. I will only be taking my Mercedes here from now on. They have earned my trust. I highly recommend this German Auto Specialists location.

Gino (The Owner) is wonderful to work with! Professional and friendly. He kept us in the loop every step of the way. He would call with updates and always returned our calls in a timely manner. Our cars looks incredible thanks to their service and coordination. The car was returned to me in better condition than I was expecting - even the interior! They go the extra mile, for example: At one time we only needed one headlight replaced and they replaced the right one then cleaned up the left one to make it look as nice as the new one. Cant say good enough things about German Automotive. We have 3 European cars we will not let no body else work on our cars. I would recommend them time and time again! We have been using German Auto Specialist for years now for our Porsche, Mercedes and Audi. Most recently we had water inside the Mercedes on the floor board behind the passenger seat. They knew exactly what the problem was - sunroof drains clogged. They were able to fix the issue that day for $150. We are very pleased!

Gino and his team at German Auto Specialists have been servicing my 2007 Passat for last three years. They performed several major repairs as well as standard maintenance and they have been done right and no problems. Pricing is a little less than dealership rate but you get quality service and they really take care of customers. You also have benefit of supporting local small family owned business where family actually on site and contributing to business success. There are closer options but worth it drive a little more for service here. I credit them for keeping my 14 year old car on the road and saving me from buying a new car. I’m no longer afraid of buying German cars because I know I can afford maintenance here. Finding a good mechanic is not easy so give thisbusiness a chance and you won’t be disappointed.

My daughter had a transmission failure in her Audi A3, and Gino (owner) was the only mechanic who had extensive experience with replacing the control unit within the transmission, rather than the entire transmission, like other mechanics wanted to do, saving us a lot of money. The part wasnt cheap, but his prices are very fair. We had some programming issues that were out of his control, and he went out of his way to instruct me on not overpaying at the dealership, which showed me that he not only believes in fair pricing for his services, but has his customers best interest in mind.His shop is super clean and the staff is great. They are very busy, so plan on a bit of a lead time for larger scale service. I will be taking all of our german cars to him going forward.

I own a Jetta TDI with nearly 200k miles. I’ve mostly taken it to the dealership but now as it’s gotten older I’ve been seeking independent German automotive shops to service my car. German Auto Specialist is by far the best shop I’ve come across.Here’s why:1. They answer the phone promptly and actually talk to you about your issue clearly on the phone first.2. The lobby is really nice and very organized, with a clean K-cup coffee station, and cool logo merch for sale. They have a comfortable waiting area (even though I didn’t need it). Gino did a quick test drive WITH me so he could hear, feel and understand what I was describing. No one has ever offered that.4. Efficiency! I had a strange rattling noice in the undercarriage of the car, the A/C unit was acting funny and the car was in desperate need of regular service. Everything was taken care of within a few hours and they took care of the loud rattling, which they didn’t have to do. Everyone was very friendly, knowledgeable and made sure I felt taken care of. The only negative was setting up a time to bring the car in. I did it through Yelp and was told to come on a specific day and when I showed up, there wasn’t any record that I would be expected however, they did see my car on the same day which was nice. They also aren’t going to push you into spending a ton of money if the repairs aren’t absolutely necessary which is how all shops should operate. Would highly recommend and I will continue driving up from LA to see this team.

I wouldve gone here for all the repairs my car needed if it wasnt for the warranty. They are fast, they are clean, and they do whats best for you. Gino took the time to explain what was wrong, and what any potential future issues there would be. The dealership couldnt even be bothered to get me in within 2 weeks (and I tried multiple ones in my area). GAS took my car, diagnosed, and repaired same day. Their work is guaranteed as well, so let that be peace of mind for you. With the meager warranty VW gave me, this is a little blessing.They may not be the cheapest mechanics Ive been to (thats a good thing), but they do it right and they do it fast. They are very knowledgeable with German cars, and I cannot recall having to bring the car back because a repair was done improperly. I took my 2014 Audi SQ5 in for front brake service. After evaluating what was needed, they called me and gave me a quote for new brakes. I told him the quote was fine and to go ahead with the repair. When I went into pick up my car after the work was done, it turned out that they had under quoted me by close to $400. There are three different size brake discs used on my model vehicle, depending on the options. His son had made an error when working up the quote. Instead of explaining the error and charging me more than he quoted, he ate the $400 and kept his word. Very nice of him. He did a great job on my brakes. No problems at all. I will definitely continue to use his services when needed.

I have driven German made automobiles for 40 years and once I found Gino about 30 years ago I have never felt the need to seek out another mechanic. He is honest, knowledgeable, stands by his work, is interested in getting to know his customers and gives them his best. Ive owned bugs, busses, vans, and BMWs and Gino has done everything for me from change oil to rebuild an engine. The shuttle service German Auto Specialist provides is terrific. And if you have to wait, there is always coffee, a nice clean place to sit, and a friendly face at the front desk. The service is five star on all levels.

What a wonderful family owned business! I’m a little reluctant to trust mechanic shops, since vehicle repairs can be quite expensive and sometimes you just don’t know if the quotes for repairs are really necessary. I had taken my 2010 BMW to Bob Smith and was quoted over $7,000 in repairs. Needless to say I was a bit overwhelmed, so I took a shot on the internet for local mechanic shops. German Auto Specialist not only diagnosed my BMW for additional repairs than what Bob Smith quoted, they also were a fraction of the cost. In and out in 2 days. Hopefully, I won’t have a need to go back for a while, but if I do, you know where I’mgoing! Trust German Auto Specialist, they won’t steer you wrong! Thank you!!

They have been taking care of my GLC since we’ve owned it. When ever I call for a service they work with my schedule and offer me rides so I’m not stranded. I always took my car to the Audi dealer and never had any issues, but when my car had a sudden coolant leak and the dealer charged me $200.00 to tell me it will cost me $3,000+ to make the necessary repairs I became concerned and called German Auto Specialists.I spoke with Gino (over the phone) who took the time to explain what the dealer advised me and assure me if what they diagnosed was correct it will not cost $3,000+ to repair. He also advised me they don’t charge to diagnose the problem either.Long story short brought the car to Gino later that day and it was fixed within 24 hours for about $1300 with OEM parts.

I can’t recommend German Auto Specialist enough. I recently bought an older BMW Z3. The car was is great shape when I got it but, soon after a few hundred miles it gave a dash code. They did a fantastic job of diagnostics on my car. The problem was not as simple as merely reading the code. Probably because the car is 20 years old but, Gino and his crew took the time to find exactly what the issue was and fixed it. She’s running beautifully and could not be happier. Thanks so much!

I normally take the car to my mechanic in Canoga Park but didnt want to drive that far for a Schedule B service. The B should include oil change, fluid check/top off, system check noting any weaknesses right, tire pressure check/fill: $150. A little high but not exorbitant. They were friendly and got it done quickly. Two weeks later the car wouldnt start. Turned out to be a dead battery. Upon replacing the battery at my regular mechanic, they noticed the windshield washer fluid was empty. Hmmmm. I conclude that I didnt get a complete service that I paid for at German Auto Specialist.

Great experience with German Auto! BMW 328i stopped running unexpectedly, had the tow truck drop it off at German Auto on the weekend (they were closed) . Got a call around noon on Monday that they had diagnosed the issue, had the part in stock (replace fuel pump) and the car would be ready by the end of the day. And it was!

I had been having problems with my turbo on my 2013 BMW 328i. The dealer told me I needed the wole turbo replaced to the tune of $7000+. Gino checked it out - isolated the issues and the car drives good as new for a fourth of the price. He is friendly, honest and knows his stuff!

Honest shop with high quality work. Obviously if you have a German car, it is more expensive to maintain. However, unlike other shops, German Auto Specialists honest service model will not rip you off, and, rather, will simply charge you the accurate price and only for what is actually required.
