2023-06-25 21:37:11I bought a 3K Magnolia Sony TV from Best Buy and after 14 month (2 months past warranty) the TV was not turning on. Called Sony service and they referred me to Best Buy and they connected me to Geek squad, after 3 weeks two technicians showed up and they did almost nothing just to convince me to go and buy a new TV.They did not touch my TV and no diagnostic action to find the problem, just verbally told me that the problem might be this and that and it takes a while to order the spare parts and even it might not work and even if it works it might not last long.There whole system is not to do any repair just to encourage you buy them a new TV and pay extras for extended warranty that is so expensive and doesn’t make sense at all.I don’t recommend Best Buy to anyone and after being their customer for 10 years I am going to leave their eco system for ever.

Always used to buy products and try to install them myselfRecently i purchased their service plan as it made sense theoreticallyPractically it’s horrible, originally they promised me they would service all products that i own regardless of where I’ve bought them fromOnce purchased it was difficult to get a hold of folks and get an appointment and then technicians would call and find ways to cancel the appointment (saying they can’t do anything)Even if they would show up they won’t do much just see everything on surface level and inform the same thing that we can’t do anything it’s easier to buy a new productWhich i eventually paid to someone locally and got it fixed for cheaper than the whole membership costDefinitely not worth someone who knows enough technically to get by the day

2019-01-03 20:58:24Been shopping at Best Buy forever and this time around, I bought the tech support plan with geek squad. The plan itself is a great deal but the customer support around it is terrible. First off, it’s not a one stop shop. It’s not one number to call for your tech needs. It could be a 1-800 number or you may need to visit the store. In the store, it’s confusing who to talk to cause the big geek squad desk next doesn’t cater to all your geek squad things. Second off, I was overcharged for a service. The tech who overcharged me transferred me to his boss Desmond. Desmond was very apologetic and promised to refund right way. A month and seven voicemails later, no refund. Called the 1-800 number and after an hour of discussion and being transferred to three departments I was finally promised the refund. 20 mins later they gave up. Can be done in store only. At the store I have been waiting to talk to a manager for the last 30 mins and am using that time to type this review. Lol. Not good.

2022-11-16 23:56:52Dont use the Geek Squad for anything! I called them when I got locked out of my computer and they wiped all my data when they did something that they explicitly said wouldnt wipe the data
