Hands down the best cosmetics dentist in the Bay Area! Excellent staff whose mission is to ensure your smile is the best ever. Great place. Definitely recommend coming here. Dr Fong does a very detailed new patient exam. Pictures, x-rays, goes over over/under bite. Explanations are easy to understand. Hes fixed 2 cavities that I had. No complaints coming from me.

Seriously one of the better experiences I’ve had with a dentist office!My first time going in was actually for an infected wisdom tooth, which was EXTREMELY painful. Dr. Fong was responsive (even on his day off), and was able to see me as soon as possible. I’ve developed a bit of dental anxiety as I’ve gotten older, but Dr. Fong was extremely patient, calm, and informative. I have Invisalign aligners, and he offered to trim the wisdom teeth off of them for me after my extraction so I didn’t have to drive 40 minutes to my orthodontist. He also thoroughly explained the alignment of my bite, and everything else that was going on with my teeth. He even checked on me after the procedure, when I went home, which I have never experienced with any other dentist.Not only him, but the entire staff eased a lot of my nerves. Sandra was awesome with consoling me when I was clearly panicking. She also went above and beyond with getting me scheduled for follow up appointments, providing me with a list of foods I could eat after the extraction, and checking up on me after I went home to make sure I was okay. She is awesome!!Aleda (spelling?) was very patient with me when trying to get my X-rays, when I could barely open my mouth from the pain. She made me laugh, and she really did a thorough job explaining the after care process.When I came back a week later for my cleaning, Jessica was awesome! I’ve always hated getting my teeth cleaned because I’m uncomfortable with the water pooling at the back of my mouth while lying flat on my back. She took the extra time to use suction after every few teeth. It really was a nice touch that made the experience so much more relaxing.My experience at Dr. Fong’s office felt extremely personalized. Everyone did such an amazing job of making me feel at ease. I have never kept a dentist for longer than a couple years because I’ve never had experiences that were great. As long as I’m in the Bay Area, I will definitely be going to Dr. Fong for all of my dental needs!

I found Dr. Fong while trying to alleviate some jaw and ear symptoms from sleep bruxism; other dentists would just make a general night guard that made the situation worse and sent me on my way. Dr. Fong had specialized knowledge on the TMJ and made a plan to help me protect my teeth while trying to relax the muscles with a specific night guard. He’s extremely thorough and I’ve gone back countless times to get the guard adjusted to be just right and for my general dental needs. The in office crowns are amazing - no more annoying temp crowns that come right off while you freak out over a naked sensitive tooth. Sandra the office guru is so helpful and fantastic. Overall a lovely dental office worth crossing the bridge for!

Dont go here! I came in for an onlay while traveling because they said they had they cerec machine and that Gary Fong did onlays.Months later Im still in pain. First, a crown was done without my permission despite my specially telling Mr. Fong I did not want one. He did an examination and took x-rays the day before so was aware of the tooths condition.In the middle of the procedure I took a little break from the drilling and ran my tongue over the tooth. To my horror, I realized that the entire tooth had been drilled down to a stub like they do for a crown prep. I was not happy. I immediately looked in my phone camera to see and also took a picture.When I asked Mr. Fong why it was drilled down when I specifically told him I wanted an inlay, he said Do you want me to stop? As in not finish and leave my toogh drilled and open! UnbelievableThe crown which I didnt want was not anatomically correct. The bite was high and there were gaps between the tooth worked on and the teeth next to it. My gums were bleeding, I was in pain and still am.I went back the next day and was told nothing was wrong but when they checked the bite in the paper it showed high. It was adjusted but didnt feel right.I called Dr. Fong and he insisted that it was the other teeth not the one he worked on.I went to a another dentist and the bite was again found high and despite another adjustment I still had pain and the gaps were causing food to get stuck in between and inflaming the gums, causing them to. Bleed.The crown looks and feels like a blob of ceramic putty was just stuck up there. Its very flat and doesnt look like a tooth.Ive had onlays and know what they are supposed to look and feel likeI called the office and requested a refund but was denied and again they told me it was not the tooth they worked on!!!I paid $1300 cash to be in pain and I wasnt even in pain before I went!Go somewhere else!!!

After years of trying to find a dentist that could provide me with my intense dental needs I found Dr. Gary Fong. I love Dr. Fong and his dentistry because they make me feel comfortable and they are VERY friendly and caring. I love that Dr. Fong attends to any need you have when it comes to dentistry. If I need a root canal or even a tooth pulled or a cleaning, he does everything at his office instead of referring me to a specialist like most dentist do. He truly cares about his patients. I would recommend Dr. Gary Fong DDS to anyone and I will continue to go to his dentistry because they are true to their mission. He is the most kind, caring and best dentist Ive ever went too.

Dr. Fong is truly an amazing dentist, he is so gentle, kind, he listened to all of my concerns and very passionate in what he does. he fixed one of my crown today and I didnt need to wait or go back for two weeks because he has the advanced technology machine state of the art, Cerec crown (it only took 35 min.) Super cool! The whole staffs are so helpful as well. Im very satisfied patient.

I greatly enjoyed the atmosphere of this office. Everyone was professional, yet jovial. Dr Fong spent a LONG time explaining various things to me, about teeth/ gums/jaws in general, as well as how they specifically applied to me. In addition, he was equally as thorough when he examined me. Not only is he a great educator, but he is an excellent practitioner and advocate. He found 8 areas in my mouth that needed to be addressed that my previous dentist overlooked. He helped me recover the cost of a horrible crown from my previous dentist, so that he could give me a gorgeous one in one visit...and it looks like a real tooth. He is meticulous, painless, and down to earth.

Dr Fong is amazing!! I have been going to him for roughly 8 years. He has always been extremely thorough in his work as well as his explanations of what needs to be done and why. Due to Dr. Fongs focused attention to each of his patients, my wife and I feel like we have a great relationship with him. It makes it much easier going to the dentist. :)From cleanings, to caps, to last minute dental needs, I have always been able to contact the office when needed. I get emails, text messages, and phone calls reminding me about my appointments.To my regret, I once went to another dentist in the area to get some work done which ended up not going as well as I had hoped. I went back to Dr. Fong to correct the mistake. He was very understanding and accommodating. My wife and I both love our dentist and we know you will too.

Ive been going to Dr Gary Fongs office for 15 years and have never had a reason to go anywhere else for my dental needs. Theyve always taken great care of me. The staff has always been so positive and friendly throughout the years.I had a dental emergency several years ago and Gary was out of town. Garys office was able to arrange for me to be treated by his brother who is also a dentist and they fixed me right up! This was great customer service and Garys brother was able to see me on extremely short notice.I highly recommend Dr Gary Fongs office!

Before I began visiting Dr. Fong, I had already sat through a ton of dental work including a few extractions, countless fillings and other proceedures. I *really* didnt like dentists.  But ask me now about going to the dentist and Ill say I love it. I mean, like everyone, I still hate getting my teeth cleaned and the terrifying sound of a drill against my tooth, but overall Dr. Fong and his team make sitting in the dentist chair the best possible experience.  I recently had to have 3 crowns done and they were all great experiences. Dr. Fong and his amazing dental assistant always make sure to explain what hes doing, make sure I cant feel anything and that Im as comfortable as possible. They even take care to put a moisturizer on your lips to make sure your lips and corner of your mouth dont get cracked during a procedure.  Again, if youre looking for an awesome, considerate dentist with an assistant and staff that truly care about you, please consider Dr. Fong in Hayward.

Gary Fong is Amazing at what he does and also everyone in this dentistry. I hadn’t been to the dentist in 8 years. I was so nervous and I wanted to find the perfect dentist. I read his previous reviews and decided to try him. As soon as I called Mary answered the phone and I had some worrying questions but she assured me everything was going to be ok. When I arrived at my appointment I was in awe of all the high tech equipment they use and their professionalism. Gary comes up with a personal plan of action for you and they have payment options to work with you. I am very pleased I made that phone call. I personally had Dr. Gary Fong and got a root canal and crowning done. Didnt feel a thing and felt completely relaxed being there. Everyone there is friendly and very welcome. I personally recommend Dr. Fong to anyone who needs dental work done. He even calls at the end of the night to check up on you. Fantastic experience.

Dr. Fong is hands down the best Dentist. He is kind, patient, professional and extremely good at what he does. It is rare to find someone in his profession that is willing to take the time to sit down with patients, and rather than throw treatment that is needed in their face, takes the time to go over a treatment plan with you. The amount of time and thought he puts into explaining why you need the treatment is reason enough to make a visit. How often can you say that a Dentist really explains what is going on in your mouth? I can certainly attest to Dr. Fongs wonderful business as a whole. Dr. Fongs staff provides the same care and personable hospitality that you would expect from a top-notch dental office. I refer to all my family and friends!

I have anxiety thinking about going to a dentist. But I was referred to Dr. Fong and am so glad I called his office.The entire office makes you feel welcome as if they already know you. After 10 long agonizing years of not going to the dentist, I found an Angel, Dr Gary Fong! I have had problems with anxiety and was absolutely afraid of the affects that Novocaine would have on my body. Dr. Fong found other ways to work with my issues, thought me to NOT be afraid, and helped me overcome the fear of being in a dentist chair!Dr Gary Fong is a Dentist that I would recommend to anyone and everyone who has fears of going to the dentist. His demeanor and attitude are a great asset for anyone who is afraid of being in that dentist chair. He is very gentle, and actually talks and walks you through your procedure so that you know exactly what is going on. I went from being embarrassed to smile to being able to smile again!Longer Version: Dentist reviews have to be one of the hardest to write. On one hand, you need to be able to express how truly wonderful a dentist is, on the other, you dont want people to know how messed up your teeth are.Dr. Fong is fantastic. His attention to detail and wonderful staff make this place a true hidden treasure.I have been to many dentist. Ugly offices, beautiful offices, and everything in between. Dr. Fongs is a simple dental office, nothing fancy. He is there because he cares about your teeth, not about making as much money as he can from you.As I have been to many dentist, Ive had tons of work done. My smile, slowly fading away as I become more and more embarrassed by the condition of my teeth. It used to not be so bad when pictures were less detailed but now they see every detail of your teeth.My teeth were not in good condition. I was embarrassed to smile, afraid to gross people out with my teeth. Previous work done on my teeth were quite visible. You could instantly tell where a cavity was filled because they couldnt get the color right. It was quite embarrassing, multiple dentists and similar experiences. That all changed with Dr. Fong.I had cavities on my front tooth and on the tooth next to it, and a filling needed replacing. Dr Fong filled in the cavities and fixed the previous filling. I wasnt expecting much, Ive been in seats similar to this many times before. After all was done, they handed the mirror to me, and when I saw the completed work, I immediately began to cry. It was straight out of something you would see on TV. The fillings were so good they looked just like my natural teeth. You cant even tell work was done unless you stare at the teeth and even then, good luck. I can finally smile again, I am so truly happy to have finally found a dentist that does QUALITY work.Thank you Dr. Fong for being an amazing dentist and giving me my smile back. I appreciate all the hard work you have put into my teeth, I could never thank you enough.

Ive always been terrified of going to the dentist, not sure if its because I had a mean dentist growing up or if it was the movie Little Shop of Horrors (which I still enjoy) lol. My husband referred me to Dr. Fong in March 2019, Id been suffering from TMJ and feeling extreme pain in my facial muscles and joints. Dr. Fong took the time to listen to my concerns and along with his amazing team delivered life changing solutions. I cried tears of joy and appreciation for being treated with such understanding. I continue to follow doctors recommendations and orders as I recover and heal. I feel better today and have deep gratitude for bring guided to overcome my fears.

Had a crown replacement done today, From what I remember from my last crown replacement years ago, the experience rated very close to chasing an armed drug dealer through his backyard containing three of his very protective pit bulldogs.Fortunately the dogs were chained.A much better experience this time.A permanent crown was made on the premise and I was out in two and half hours. One visit no returning to take out temporary crown and replace it with a permanent crown that still needs to be fitted. Also the meds used to numb the pain that delivered by Dr Fong was painless and didnt have the after effects of a burning sensation or eight hour drooling.Dr. Fong did great job.
