This is the best and most fairest place in town. They are good with any make and model but I take my 2003 Jeep Wrangler there because they have a Jeep guy. If you have Jeep issues, you should bring it here.Tons of expensive, professionalism and expertise!

Garage 47 has been refreshingly professional and thorough in the work theyve done on my car. This place is fantastic! Friendly and chill. I love making online appointments. Being able to drop my car off after hours. I love that I get texts with pictures of the work or potential work to do. I love how central the shop is to Sac/Carmichael life. I have one car and have yet had to be without it.

I stopped by without an appointment to get my dirt guard reattached. They took it right away and had it done while I walked a dog. Speedy and efficient. I also like the portal they set up for customers so you can see the work done.

I’ve been going here for years; I am kind of a car guy; sometimes just enough of a car guy to get myself into trouble, and they always get me out of it. They are great at explaining the cost and benefit versus burden of different repair options. I like to push things until the wheels run off and they find a way to always get them back on when I can’t. Shout out to their manager Guy, I would invite him over for Christmas just so he could talk to my kids and explain how to take care of things with their vehicles. Places don’t exist like this anymore, but they do here. They have even informally given me pointers on stuff I can do on my own and they actually make it fun fun to go to the mechanic. I just wish I could find a dentist like this. ( also, they never give me a hard time for some of my temporary MacGyver type repair solutions I have to do until I can get it into them) Cars taken there for like everything (200k plus miles on all) Honda Oddesy 2008; Honda Odyssey 2015; GMC Sierra 1500 (small block V8) 2003; 2010 Ford Econoline E350 XLT (Flex Fuel) 12 passenger van ( aka the people mover).

I’ve been taking my Crv to Garage 47 for years now, I love the customer service and maintenance on my vehicle. I have 290k miles on it and feel like I will get to 400k. Most of all I like that they text you the update says they’re working on the vehicle along with pictures I highly recommend this business.

Highly recommend! If there is some service they don’t offer, like windshield replacement, they offer a recommendation based on their experience. They give a realistic estimate, and more often than not, the final bill is less than the estimate. Good folks to work with.They quickly diagnosed a sporadic ignition switch problem, and had it fixed in a couple of hours. Never have I had a bad experience with Garage 47.I also appreciate their all-electronic appt booking, invoicing, commentary and receipts.

Was in a small accident (not my fault) and about a week later I started having what I thought was radiator issues but turns out it was an extender hose going to the heater core. I am so thankful I took my truck here because that’s something I would’ve never figured out. It’s not the first time coming here and I guarantee it won’t my last either!! They were great! I really liked their online system it gives you all the information on their findings and allows you to decide if you want to move forward or not for each repair. They even spoke with my uncle to help us both feel better about the repairs. Communication and customer service was great. So far my leak is cured !

After experiencing an awful incident and my whole tire falling completely off my vehicle. Garage 47 took very good care of me by replacing my brake rotors, new brake pads, new wheels, a new rim and replaced the lug nuts. They checked and replaced all needed fluids in my truck and I totally appreciate the quality of their work, the professionalism, and they are very efficient as far as time is considered. Thank you guys Derek and Guy keep up the amazing work.

As a woman I have been to a lot of mechanics who dont treat me properly. At garage 47 I received some of the best treatment Ive ever had. Mechanics are intelligent and polite, they treated me with the upmost respect, they were incredibly informative. Their diagnostic charges were fair, they even lowered them one time because it took less labor instead of charging me the two hours I originally signed up for. Had they not told me that I wouldve paid them for the two hours without question. There are no high-pressure sales tactics here. If you come for a diagnostic, but cant afford the work quite yet, do not expect them to be rude, or roll their eyes, or try to pressure you to get to work done anyways. They also have insanely good communication. Text and are extremely communicative. 10 out of 10 would recommend to all my friends and strangers as well.

I called Garage 47 a couple of days before a holiday weekend with a concern about my SUV not starting correctly. Not only did they squeeze me in on this already busy Saturday, but they diagnosed and completed my repair the same day!A few years ago, our family was looking for a honest & reliable repair shop. My husband was referred to Garage 47 from a coworker. We have enthusiastically referred Garage 47 to anyone that needs a auto repair. I have passed out many business cards to friends.We have never been disappointed. They go the extra mile and keep us informed along the process. They got me in right away. They had my brakes fixed after having to order a Ford part and the oil changed the very next day. They did the job right when another shop did it the cheap way by putting in made in Mexico part instead of a genuine Ford part. It wasn’t an easy fix or cheap. But I really appreciate the guys at Garage 47 for doing the job right and quickly. I highly recommend them.

Honest and fair. My truck broke down and I had it towed here. I had a broken fuel pump that they fixed as well as some other issues that needed to be addressed that I had kept putting off. Decided to go ahead and get it done while I was there to avoid further issues. They had my truck back and running the next day. I still need more work done and will be back.

We have been using Garage 47 since they opened and have been absolutely pleased with all of their services. They have been honest (even telling us we dont REALLY need certain repairs done) and thorough in their explanations. Ive appreciate when they have done work (like oil changes) very quickly when our schedule changes and they even stayed late one evening when I pulled in with a low-tire. They took care of me in the same friendly way they always do. I honestly enjoy having them work on my vehicles.

Im extremely disappointed after my service. I will never go to a service provider of ANY sort again. Even if it takes me 3 months to fix my car myself,Ill still do so before I pay anyone else the ludicrous prices again. I will say, the job was done properly and in a timely manner. Communication was great and the ease of communication which also included pictures of their findings etc. was 5 star & fantastic. However, I shared that I was quite certain that my issue was the crankshaft position sensor from the beginning and that Id ran a scan previously with no codes showing up. Their $15k machine is better than my $80 blah blah blah. Fair enough. Understood. Id read so many excellent reviews which spoke highly of how comfortable the place made you feel, fair prices, etc. Well, not this one. Ive literally been absolutely devastated financially due to being taken advantage of and been through the WORST year and shared a small part of this with them. Anyway, I really was hoping that the perspective I had from the reviews would reflect the small town, neighborly feel that I was getting in reality. THAT was and is my disappointment. Guys, my part literally costs like tops $35 and a very little amount of work. You disconnect the battery, remove starter (2 bolts) and one more bolt for the actual crankshaft position sensor removal. Replace and same process in reverse on the way back. Done. This is not hard to access. The only thing in the way is starter. This cant possibly take longer than a half hour, maybe 45 mins at the most. So maybe an hour of my time and $35 out of my pocket. Instead they decided I needed diagnostic even though I was absolutely 100% correct on the evaluation and still charged me the $150+ to plug in their machine to confirm I was right. Im sorry, but if I can put together the issue, a mechanic should be able to do so without that charge. Literally a plug that you hplug into the cars computer to read it, thats it. So, when Im correct id hoped theyd at least waive the 3 mins of time and $0 cost it took them. NOPE! $438 and some change later. Not to mention the fact they were pretty persistent about my need for a new battery at almost another$300. Stopped at the auto parts store on my way home and for less than $170 got a mid-grade with 2yr warranty and put it in myself as I will do after accepting the simple fact that the World we are living in is what it is and the chances of finding decency in it arent worth the price it costs on the way, assuming youre even ever lucky enough to find it. While urging me to take care of my battery issue, he said I can see Im preaching to the choir Yes, fully aware of my need for a new battery, just like my need for a crankshaft position sensor, and last but not least: the last thread of hope in finding somewhere thats not a complete rip off. In conclusion: work is good and am confident in it, process and communication is fantastic, but in my opinion prices are absolutely ridiculous and feel like theyre pretty much smiling in your face about it. Disappointing and disheartening. Never again.

Garage 47 has been by far and away the best of all auto repair shops I have ever been to!! I have a 2018 Camaro and blew the entire motor and clutch in one very unfortuante evening. I called around all of Sacramento and the surrounding area and not only found Garage 47s prices to be the best, but when the job was done they were very upfront and honest and adjusted the final price for me after they didnt use some parts they had initially thought the car might need. They managed to get my enitre car fixed and running in under a week and the car runs like it is brand new. Guy was extremely understanding of my situation as college student and did everything he cold to help me out and Brandon put the car back together just as good as Chevrolet would have from the factory! I would thoroughly recommend Garage 47 to anybody in need of any auto repair services ranging from oil changes all the way to the big repairs such as engine and transmission swaps!

Ive taken my previous and current car to them, and theyve always provided consistent, amazing service. From my most recent visit, I brought my car in when I thought it needed a tune up. They looked into it and explained that my car was actually behind on some maintenance work. They were transparent about what my car needed and what they were doing, and would provide updates. I would absolutely use their services again in the future.

We replaced a hybrid battery a year ago at garage 47 for $2300 with two years warranty which failed 6 months later and we had to drop the car again for 10 days to get another battery. The second battery failed again after 5 months. Hybrid battery with 6 months warranty is $900 in Rancho Cordova recycling off the Sunrise.Way too expensive, Poor work, $150 diagnostics fee?!!!! And off course fake reviews.

I have been a loyal customer here for 5+ years after my friend recommended them. She had been going to them forever! They are the best mechanic shop Ive had, in my 45 years of driving! They are courteous. They take time to explain the issue. They give OPTIONS for the service, which I greatly appreciate. The waiting office is clean and is air conditioned/heated.This time I was there only for a low tire pressure. They took my car in right away, saw it had a screw in the tire, did the repair, checked the rest of the tires, and were done in less than 15 minutes. The computer system they use pulls up your cars history and makes billing quick. I like that they use text and email (with pictures!) to communicate while my car is in for work.If youre lucky enough to have a conversation with the owner, youll feel right at home. And the new mechanics hes bringing on must be coached in good customer service-they are also doing a great job.Whenever someone on Nextdoor is looking for a mechanic, I get Garage 47s name in there as fast as I can. I highly recommend this shop!

Before purchasing a used car, I took it to Garage 47 to be inspected. And Im glad I did. Garage 47 has a certified inspection mechanic (Im not sure how they are certified). They did a thorough job and fast job. And, they have a neat set-up (large monitor/tv) to show you the results.The cars Carfax was clean other than a minor accident. The car mechanically was very clean on the outside and ran great. The mechanic used a camera to inspect hard to reach and see areas. He found wood debris that strongly indicated the car had been in under water. Also, they found paint over spray that was far from where the minor accident occurred.Lesson is a Carfax only shows reported accidents and repairs. It is well worth having a professional shop, like Garage 47, inspect a used car before you purchase it.

I went to get $300 in theft deterrent fab work for my 2016 4Runner. And, they could have just done what I asked for and that would be that. Instead they called and said Toyota moved the catalyst to the exhaust headers and this was over kill to protect the resonators on the y-pipe. I appreciate this type of partnership from my mechanic to help ensure I have the best experience with my Truck. This is what a local independent mechanic is supposed to be!

The owner, Steve, runs an excellent family business, and I trust G47. For my Subaru, I respect Steves advice more than anyone else locally. Ive been taking my car there occasionally for the past 4 years. They do a good job diagnosing and explaining the issue along with options to repair. I also like their detailed electronic records, which helps if follow-up work is required.G47 has deservedly become more popular and busy. It makes sense to get quotes at a few different trusted places to maximize value. This is true of any car repair.

We had a catalytic converter stolen. Jay at Garage 47 was a wonderful person to deal with. He explained the issues around the theft and replacement clearly. I felt educated and informed as the work progressed. Not just a conversation but hands on eyes on education. Great effort. The mechanics and work space were clean, professional, and friendly. They installed the replacement part and did a weld on rebar anti theft cage custom fit. Good people. Great shop. Fair price.

Holy smokes talk about fast service! I coworker recommended Garage 47 to me as she was impressed by their fast service and great prices. I only found the same to be true! Garage 47 gave me an estimate that was 1/3 of what a competitor was quoting me AND the repair was done in under an hour. You cant beat that. I went with Garage 47 to do a diagnostic on a misfire. It took longer than expected and got diagnosed wrong. However they didn’t charge me and gave me a quote to fix the issue right away. They did a valve job which many other shows weren’t willing to do and only within 1 week. Great quality work and incredibly generous and professional people. Definitely recommend.

FRAUD!! I urge you to shop around and reconsider your mechanic needs. I paid 2k for a clutch replacement a year ago. I come back 10k miles later only to have the clutch replaced again. The master cylinder went out and leaked into the clutch, thus causing the clutch to go out. They assured me this wasn’t their fault, so I asked for the previous invoice to take it to another professional so they could see from the pictures if there was already a leak the last time they changed it. They give me the invoice for the first time they performs the clutch replacement, but all of the pictures have been deleted since. In the end, I spent 4K for one job. Both times they replaced it I left and the check engine light came on. Both times it was the same code, but mysteriously two completely different processes to clear the code. The mechanic “Guy” said there is no way they would’ve checked the master cylinder because it’s a completely different component, which has no relation to the clutch. Then I talk to the owner Steve, and he says we’ll yea you have to flush the master cylinder as it is a component of the clutch. Every person you talk to there has a different story for their cover up. I can keep on ranting forever for all of the other misinformation and poor work performed. Go here at your own risk.

I recently had one of the flex brake lines break on my truck. I called Garage 47 and they said they could look at it right away so I had AAA tow it directly there. A little over 24 houirs later that problem was fixed as well as a few other things that I had them address while it was there (coolant change, power steering fluid change, new negative battery terminal and battery). Brett was excellent and explaining what needed to be dealt with right away and which items could be done at a later date. Im back up and running and am so pleased with the service I get from everyone at G47!

I contacted Garage 47 after searching Google for a place to have a pre purchase inspection done on a used auto I was considering. Im so glad that they did the inspection. They were extremely professional and documented all the issues and took photos of their findings! I visited this shop multiple times and spent more than a couple thousand dollars to have issues addressed, one particularly having to do with the car not running safely or smoothly with the check engine light appearing randomly. I used my obd2 that diagnosed my car with a misfire. I changed the spark plugs and coils with brand new high quality sparks and coils suggested for my Honda. I still had issues with my vehicle so I brought it in for another visit. The mechanic said he test drove it and experienced no issues (even though the car aggressively jerks to the slightest acceleration with rpms shooting between 2-7). The mechanic used his obd2 and told me it was my coils that needed to be changed with his recommendation on different (cheaper) coils for Honda. There was no actual hands-on diagnosis and I paid $145. I was not happy with this visit that took 5 hours.

From the first phone call, the G47 staff was very kind and willing to work with me/my schedule in terms of drop-off, scheduling an appointment, and pick-up options post repair. Very good and friendly service. I do a lot of my own work on my cars but when I need a place to go because of time constraints or because I need help this is the place that is my go to. It makes it nice to have a shop that is in the neighborhood. It is also nice to go to a place that you can talk shop with the owner and feel like you are a part of the family. It is also convenient that when your service is done you get your receipts and pictures of the work done or what your parts look like that need service e-mailed directly to you.

Steve has always had time to talk with me as a person and really figure things out, which is unusual these days. Not only are they personable, but the company follow through is impressive. They are set up so that they have excellent information and communication. This is the second car that Ive brought to Garage 47 over the years. They are very professional, competent, and reliable. My Honda was overdue for a tuneup. It ran so much better afterwards; literally I could feel it running much more smoothly and driving much more responsively on the way home! I suspected the air & cabin filters would need replacing, too. Sure enough, they checked and found them clogged up. They sent me pictures online with an estimate of the additional charges. My Mazdaspeed 3 was throwing some codes and driving very different than how it normally did. My normal mechanic told me that only the dealership could deal with those codes. Maita Mazda said they had zero clue what I was talking about and that it drove fine. Garage 47 came highly recommended. Steve got on the phone with me and talked about the codes, what they were and how he was able to address them. He was tenacious with figuring out the problem, intelligently answered my questions and took the time to teach me about those code. Finally, he fixed the problem for a little over $90. I took my 2003 Jeep wrangler sport here after it sat a month at Firestone in Antelope. Firestone stated that fixed the vacuum leak and I had a short in my wiring harness. Not even close. Dry rotted vacuum lines, pvc valve was hollowed out letting blow back into my vacuum lines. Thank you to the guys at Garage 47 for fixing my Jeep correctly. I trust Steve and his crew 100%. I have used Steve for years, way back when Garage 47 was Carmichael Automotive. There is no funny business here. Photographs are taken of the issues found and careful explanation to repair options are with every repair. He does his best to save you money and get you on the road as quickly as possible. It didnt seem like the repair took as long as they said it would. The owner came in the waiting room and we talked for a few minutes about how long our families had been in Sac while I was waiting. Nice guy. Whenever an employee came in they greeted me.

(Luckily I live within waking distance) They told me it could be my battery, and offered to walk back to my house to check it out!I was shocked, as no buisness had gone out of their way for me like that before.
