I had a situation during the holidays with my older Chihuahua. Our typical vet, VCA, could not get us in to see them in a timely manner. Franklin Ranchs staff was *so* caring and kind over the phone when we scheduled the appointment. They were able to get us in within a few days! Their facility was great; the parking lot has a large vacuum, nice park-like areas for pets to walk around, and a beautiful lobby. The staff was delightful and helpful. Our new vet, Dr Hacker, was very knowledgeable and informed me about my dog and made us feel very comfortable. My pet was greeted and treated with nothing but respect and care. They called us to make sure my dog was doing alright after his vaccine and the Vet called us back with answers to our questions. This is our new favorite place and we are not going anywhere else!! Everyone here is amazing! Our cat had/has some mysterious things going on that meant an emergency operation and a week long stay. Dr. Mike has been incredibly thoughtful (as have all the staff) and honest about what he does and doesnt know. Definitely the right people you want on your side when going through an emergency. I will 100% be bringing all my cats here for everything.Thank you to everyone who cared for Baldur while he was with you! Hes doing much better at home and is way more playful than he was before.

We unfortunately said goodbye to our 16yo puggle Julio just before Christmas last year. The folks at Franklin have always been great to us and our pup, and I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for being so good and caring through our pups last couple of days. It was a horrible painful process, but the staff here did everything they could to make us comfortable.Not sure we will ever get another dog, but if we do, we will be right back here for their care.Thanks Franklin for everything!

Ive been to a lot of vet hospitals, and Franklin Ranch is way out in front. The unchallenged leader. Apart from the sparkling clean, modern facility with the most cheerful seasonal decor, its medical professionals and support staff are so compassionate-- with the animals and owners alike. My dog wasnt sure the first visit, but by the second visit, by the time we left, she was completely relaxed and happy. If I could give 10 stars I would!

Ok... let me tell you all something. Our kitty Taz had a broken canine tooth, and it looked painful. Both the doctor (Dr. Hunt) and the techs were SO amazing with our scared kitty. They talked to him and explained everything to us as each thing was happening. I really appreciated their bedside manner and making us feel at ease. I liked them so much that even though they are all the way across town... Im now considering bringing more of our pets. Thank you and your team (from the kind receptionists to the techs to the doctor) for a non-anxiety inducing appointment for us and our kitty!

I checked out a few veterinarians about an end of life evaluation with possible euthanasia. I decided to go with Franklin Ranch. I called them back and made an appointment. When the day came for the appointment I had to carry my big dog out to the car. I went in to the clinic and was told I had no appointment. The person that made it didn’t put it in the schedule. Then they wanted to charge me an urgent care charge to be seen on the day of my appointment. They wouldn’t own their mistake so now I have to carry my dog back into the house and find a more competent place I can depend on. If I could rate them less than one star I would.

Eternally grateful to staff. I had to take my fur baby in for her end of life. I had never been through anything like that before. Staff took me through the process as best and painless as possible. My baby left me with dignity and peacefully thanks to them.

Due to multiple issues, our dog Feeny visited Franklin Ranch 4 times in December. We were always seen timely and treated with friendliness and kindness. Our questions were answered clearly. The last visits were regarding a surgery on his eyelid. We were very scared about the procedure. The staff was very reassuring. They sent the removed mass out for a biopsy. Dr. Churchill called a few days after the surgery to let us know the the results of the biopsy had not yet come in. She said she would be out of the office for a few days, but would contact us as soon as she was back. And she did! We hope not to have to visit Franklin Ranch too often, but if we need to, we know our dog is in excellent hands. We highly recommend Franklin Ranch Pet Hospital.

I cant describe how grateful I am for Dr. Sutton. My cat almost died last year and she oversaw most of his care. She has great bedside manner and customer care and is patient and clear in helping me understand everything and weigh my options. She is sturdy and compassionate in very difficult, emotional times. She has provided excellent care for him ever since. I appreciate her more than shell ever know! My cat had a scary emergency this week and we saw Dr. Hunt for an emergency visit, they were packed but she made sure to fit us in. She was thorough, and very sweet! She and Dr. Sutton consulted after and Dr. Sutton even called with detailed follow up support. I know they dont have a lot of time but go above & beyond .Special shout out to Ace, a tech Im told took extra care with him when he was hospitalized last year.

I wrote a review after our beloved dog passed away last week. I realized that it did not adequately capture how impressed and grateful my wife, son and I were for Franklin Ranch. Doctor Churchill and her staff quickly attended to my dogs situation with care, professionalism and expertise. Most all of the staff here are nice and friendly. They never freaked out on how I would pay for something my disabled senior dog needed, we just got it done and figured out the payment afterwards. Samantha Hunt is the best vet tech here by far. She always treated Maxie as if she was her own. Thank you for helping Maxie and myself through to the very end. My pets always receive the best of care at Franklin Ranch. They even do a follow-up phone call the next day to see how my dog was doing after her dental and how my cat was doing after receiving his vaccines. All the vets and staff are wonderful and caring. The best Veterinarian clinic in the area.

I had just adopted a new kitten this last month after my 21 year old cat passed away in 2020. I am very particular in the vet that I have seen in the past due to excellence service and caretaking of our animals. That vet is no longer available.I had called around and tried to find any openings, this one had one the same day I called. I didn’t think I’d be able to find another alternative vet to bring my new kitten to. But here it is. I have to say, the staff seemed happy and welcoming, cared for each patient individually. I was taken care of by Dr. Wheezer and her assistant I didn’t quite catch the name. Absolutely amazing customer service and care for not only my kitten but for myself, interested in anything I had to say in regards to my kitten.They had to give her a routine shot and take some blood for testing, we were in and out in 25 mins tops. Excellent facility! Great staff, clean, a little pricier than some places, but it is WORTH it. We will be coming back for all of my kitten’s needs. Keep up the good work guys, you were all amazing. Grateful for timely urgent care appointment, thank you front staff, for my five month old puppy. How do you treat a patient who cant tell you whats wrong and when the tests dont explain it either, again, experience and intuition, compassion and knowledge. Very grateful for his vets experience and intuition which was spot on. Grateful for techs and overnight techs that worked around the clock to get his fever down. Forever grateful for a now healthy puppy.

I was impressed that I got an appointment for my cat the next day to be checked. The place was clean and bigger than I expected. Staff were friendly and welcoming in the office and on the phone. The only minor issue was they couldnt get a urine sample and I was expected to bring cat back.Luckily, I was able to get a sample at home to bring in!

A great pet hospital.Everyone is nice and knowledgeable, and they respect your pet. That is the most important part! It is obvious that everyone who workers there is a pet lover. So when you drop off your pet, you know your baby will be taken care of.They always find an appointment when you need one, even when they are busy. If youre a regular, they treat your baby like any patient, they call, and email reminders for yearly shots, check-ups, and special needs for your baby.They are out of the way, so it is a small drive, like a ranch, like the name says Ranch, the are on the country road, but worth the drive. They are not cheap, but what great vet is. You get what you pay for, and if your pet is your baby, then youll want Franklin Ranch. Remember, make an appointment.

If I could give more stars, I’d give them all to Franklin Ranch. Franklin Ranch is by far the best care my animals have ever received. I can’t say enough about the care the doctors have provided. I always feel well informed of my options and always feel the doctors have nothing but the best interest of my babies at heart. I’ve been to another pet hospital for several years before discovering Franklin Ranch and always felt like it was about profit and not care. One instance in which, sadly, I had to put our baby Stella (black lab) down will have me and my now fur babies a forever patient there. The way they handled it and cared for her in her final days was more than I could have ever expected. Fairly recently, I had to take a kitten we found in for care and, again, the treatment was second to none. I had to take my girl Lucille (mini Aussie) in for an eye injury and the doctor made sure to check her from head to toe and found she had something in her ear. She provided the care she needed and helped both her eye injury AND her ear. I know our four legged babies are a part of our family. If you want the best care for your family members, go to Franklin Ranch.

Franklin Ranch Pet Hospital is the best vet hospital we have ever had. We were told by one vet in Elk Grove to put down our dog but FRPH told us not to and our dog live a along life. Our 1st and 2nd puppy we took to them. They are always conscious of out puppy needs and also they are conscience of our finances. The staff is very friendly and helpful. 3💜

Franklin Ranch has simply been amazing for our two dogs. We’ve had a couple times where we’ve needed to take our dogs into the vet right away and they are always able to make time for us. Every vet tech and vet has given us the same amazing care and I feel so comfortable going here for any of our pets’ issues. We are moving out of Elk Grove and into Sacramento but I still plan on keeping them here since they are just so great!

When I take my Miniature Toy Poodle Charcoal to Franklin Ranch Pet Hospital they are very loving to him and very concerned about what is happening with him, and when his Dr. Emily Sutton leaves the exam room Char-Char crys at the door and paces the floor until Emily comes back into the room, he trys to look under the door for her while she is out of the room and he does everything he can to get the door to the backroom open to look to see where she went to !!! When its time to leave he has to tell everyone by and loves all the attention he gets while he is there.

I have used Franklin Pet Ranch for a few years and they have been great, especially when I needed an urgent appointment within a day or so for emergencies. They have great communication and in general, their staff have always been nice and super helpful. I have poked around other vets but Franklin Pet Ranch has been the easiest to get an appointment with after you are an established client.

Ive always had a good experience here. I have taken several of my cats here. One of them stayed for a month, and he was very well taken care of. Ive also had the privilege of seeing several of the doctors. They have all been professional, knowledgeable, personable, compassionate, and seemed to love my animals with genuine care. I believe their pricing is also fair, even though no one can say that any vet is not expensive. Its medical care. They have, however, worked with me to keep pricing down or been understanding regarding payments. I have also used care credit, which was very helpful when my boy, Oliver, was hospitalized.I would recommend Franklin Ranch to anyone who cares about their furbabies.

So let me preface this review with the fact that I have worked in vet med for over 20 years now. I was thoroughly impressed with Franklin Ranch. They were able to get me in the same day for an urgent (but not emergency) medical issue with my senior kitty. The facility is really nice, and very clean. The staff was friendly and prompt. I was in and out in less than an hour but also felt like the doctor was thorough and answered any questions I had. Everything was very efficient. An estimate was given and explained line by line by the tech. I was able to stage things out without feeling pressured to do everything at once. Prices were about what I was expecting, very reasonable for vet med these days. She had an exam, subq fluids, an anti nausea injection, full senior lab work, meds and food to go home and we spent about $450. The vet called me the next day and went over her labs and we were able to make a plan from there. My kitty is feeling better too. I will definitely recommend Franklin Ranch to friends and family and plan to utilize their care in the future.

When my Kono (hes a Labradoodle) goes into the vet, he wants to leave. His heart and breathing beats super fast and if hes not on the leash, hell run out as fast as he can. He was never like this before and I believe he had a bad experience at a different vet. Even though he gets nervous now, Im very pleased with the staff at this location. We have been bringing our dogs here for the past 15 years. Sadly, it was time to put down our beloved Lucas. They had a very nice comfort room for my two Sons and I to spend our last minutes together with Lucas. The staff was extremely respectful and we didnt feel rushed to say goodbye. They have been great every time with us and our pets when we came in. They always explain what the issue(s) may be and give options along with costs right away unlike many other vet clinics especially the largest name around, who only seems to be about how much money they can make and not care of your fur baby like Franklin Pet Hospital does. They are so compassionate and understanding and honest when it comes to exams, treatments, and even when it comes to that most awful time we all dread, when our fur baby must cross over to that rainbow bridge. Dr. Thornton was absolutely wonderful and compassionate with the care she gave for the treatment and service we had there. Everyone there was so wonderful and kind with the treatment and then the service. They are great people that are caring, honest and professional and have extremely reasonable pricing on all of their services they offer, including their boarding. They are all around great people with a great facility. I completely recommend them to everyone.

They were kinda pricey but its such a cute little hospital/hotel! They got my puppy in very quickly and took good care of him. They were very informative and demonstrated things I should know as a new pet parent. They provided me with a puppy packet that was very helpful in training your puppy as well as teaching about the different vaccines and what they do for them. I loved the warm welcome they gave me and would definitely be going back for my pups hospital needs!

This is the number one hospital that takes care of my Animals. They never gouge my pockets book and they were on point with everything. Very caring with my four legged fur babies. They also deliver the puppies with my small cute doggie. To me this is number one pet Hospital. I will be going back to Franklin Hospital to take my dog down there this week for a check up. I cant say enough good things about this facility. They helped us at the last minute, to get health certificates for our dogs to travel home to Hawaii, which is a very strict dog travel state. I am a cancer patient and was very stressed out and they helped us when we were turned away by others. Love this place and Tiffany who helped me so much. Thanks.....

Excellent careAs a Bichon Frise breeder I have had the pleasure of taking my Bichons to Dr Christensen who recently joined the Franklin Ranch staff as a theriogenologist (canine reproductive) specialist. Dr Christensen was formerly the head of the UC Davis Veterinary Teaching Hospital program, so I followed him to Elk Grove. I received excellent care in this beautiful facility that is expanding this coming year to include 24/7 emergency care that goes beyond the hospital/clinic and boarding facility. We are newer to Elk grove and our beloved dog was hit and killed by a car last week. WE had no established vet in the area and called Franklin Ranch Pet Hospital about cremation. From the moment I called to the moment I left after bringing our furbaby in and handing her over wrapped in a blanket to a staff member .. I cant say enough about he compassion and love and professionalism I felt from this business on one of the saddest days of our lives. Today almost one week later we received a card signed by the staff.. sincere, kind words that took only a few minutes for them to write.. not knowing us or our dog but MEANT everything!! Keep up the good work Franklin Ranch.. you will never know how much your kindness meant because 5 stars is just not enough. We ended up up here after being recommended by a local Labrador breeder. We went in here with high hopes. But unfortunately we were very disappointed. We were told by them to take our lab off of baby aspirin, even though all tests ran were completely normal, and were given a medication from them that did nothing for his pain at all. In fact he was much worse after their advice. Went back to our regular vet and she advised us to do what works best for our dog. Waste of over $300.

I unfortunately had to take my sick cat Frosty to be put to sleep on Saturday. From beginning to end, the staff and veterinarian were very kind, sympathetic, and gave me all the time I needed. And even when I was in doubt, the veterinarian assured me I was doing the kindest thing for my cat. Sometimes, we need that extra voice to guide us and help us make the most difficult decision. I know now, Frosty is at peace.

Doctors and staff are always very courteous and helpful. Good Information is provided to help you make an educated decision about your pet’s care. Boarding facility always takes great care of our dog. The facility always seems to be clean and tidy even when the waiting room is crowded with animals. I also enjoy interacting with the other pet owners and talking about our dogs. All in all, I’m extremely happy with Franklin Ranch. Keep up the good work.P.S. - I’d also like to make a point about Franklin Ranch’s treatment of minorities since another reviewer recently brought it up. I have never experienced any issues even remotely close to what was described by that reviewer as far as poor treatment towards minorities. So, don’t just take one person’s word for it. Maybe that reviewer was just having a bad day and took something so slight as another client’s immediate needs being met and completely misconstrued what was really happening. I, for one, have had to bring my dog in on an emergency and very much appreciated the immediate attention we received.

Ive used Franklin Ranch as my vet for several years. I have three dogs and they have all received excellent care. The staff always takes time to answer all questions. I have never felt that they rushed me or my pets. I also checked my Husky into the Pet Hotel for two weeks when I had to go out of town. I came back to a happy, healthy dog. I felt better knowing that she was staying at her vets facility just in case she needed care while I was gone. Im sure they are not the least expensive but they are one of the best!❤

We just moved here from Oregon and a friend referred us to Franklin Ranch. My dog is 7 years old. She is dog aggressive due to a difficult past and the staff here handled her with such professionalism, gentleness and love. Dr.Mike Johnson is a wonderful veterinarian. First of all I called them yesterday and they got my little guy in this morning, my regular vet that Ive been taking my pets to for years couldnt see us until the 20th, everyone was so nice, really liked the vet, the facility is beautiful and huge, and last but not least they were so very reasonable. End of life services are always hard. But here it is much more comfortable than you would have ever thought. A few months ago my parents had to put down our family lab. They went to their vet whom I will not name and it was a cold and devastating experience. On a cold metal table. Just a shot...it was over and get out. Awful! When MY dog was at her end of life I knew she and myself deserved better! I had taken her to Franklin Ranch before and I wouldnt take her anywhere else I decided! It wasnt a decision that came easy...I let her go to the bitter end and they didnt shame me for it. Instead they offered love and understanding towards myself and my dear Berri. They set us up in a room that was much like a family room with couches and a giant cushion style ottoman. We laid her down on the ottoman. She got an IV and everything was nice and smooth and comfortable for her and for us. We had private mourning time. As long as we wanted and needed. It was hard. But choosing Franklin Ranch was the best choice I had to make that day. I am truly thankful for the facility there and the staff. Thank you

This place has me feeling like nothing but a number!So you pay for an examination every time you go in but what do they even exam ? Do they tell you or do they just recommend a bunch of overprice shots and testing based on your animals age…The staff Either lacks communication skills or has tunnel vision and is just rushing through their work, they constantly forget to take the time to relay necessary information.After calling in and relaying my concerns it was clear no one cared! Because my guy was sick it seemed as though they looked at it as an opportunity to bill me for whatever they could. I also never got a call back to check in on him. Tremendous Pet Hospital We have taken many of our pets into Franklin, and across all of our different problems, Franklin has shown great care and skill. This past Sunday, their care and concern was really evident when two of our three dogs got hit by a car. The entire team at Franklin dropped everything they were doing to save our beloved Buster. He didnt make it, but I was so touched by their efforrt. After a series of bad experiences at our previous Vet for our three animal children, two basset hounds and our cat, we sought a second opinion on our oldest Basset with some of his recent health issues. Boy we are glad we did. We were able to speak to a nurse same day about our concerns and got an appointment with the doctor the next day. We had x-ray and labs done both came in same day earlier then promised exceeding our expectations. The doctor called and patiently talked thru results and treatment options. Franklin Ranch made it so easy and offered such accountability and compassionate care. They put our family at ease and as a result we asked that they contact our old Vet and have all 3 childrens records transferred over. They were happy to do. UPDATE: She passed yesterday. Was hospitalized for 2 nights and passed in the middle of the second night while on iv, antibiotics, and oxygen. We had started treatment too late. She could still be alive if she was treated properly the first time. Contemplating suing for negligence since this could have been treated sooner but it probably wouldn’t be worth it because they can just say it was within their scope of care. Please get a second opinion if your pet is sick and they send you home with nothing. I wish this pain on no one.Good for emergencies, not so great at diagnosis and care. My sister brought her 9 year old cat in 11 days ago for respiratory distress and not eating and drinking well for a few days. 700$ later they said it’s just mild bronchitis and gave no medication for it and then gave anti-nausea tablets. Now today after a week of not eating on her own and barely drinking water we go to a different emergency vet and pay the same amount for the same tests and she is diagnosed with pneumonia and needs to be hospitalized overnight to have a chance at recovering. They never said to come back if it gets worse or offer anything other than saying she’ll recover on her own. Really disappointed in the quality of care and how this wasn’t caught by them when it happened originally and has now quadrupled the cost for her to get well again. I understand things can be missed but we almost got her euthanized from her decline because of what was missed. Hopefully they can learn and become better vets from what has happened to us.

We had gone to another vet locally, who I will not name, who misdiagnosed the problem in our dogs ear badly... took him in to Franklin, in less than a couple of minutes they said hey hes got for foxtails deep in his ear we just took them out and oh my God he was a happy boy after that. They have been our go-to vet ever since, both with the dog and throughout three cats. They always have great service, as far as Ive seen fair pricing, and Ive heard great things about their boarding facility that weve never used it. They are very flexible with scheduling, drop-ins for nail clip appointments seem to be available more often than not which is really nice.

Its very good. Its also very expensive. I compared the exact same services (shots) with a friend that uses a different vet. Franklin was more expensive by about 25% . We started going to Franklin because they have a large staff, so it would be east to get appointments. For a while that was the case, now its fairly easy to get an appointment with a vet tech for such things as a shot. Its currently quite a long wait for an appointment with a veterinarian, last I tried it was over 2 weeks for an opening. Im flexible so I can go at the last minute if there is a cancelation, but if you need a popular time, its a wait. It could open back up more post covid pandemic, but that remains to be seen.

Care is good I usually get different vet with each visit but that is OK. My only problem is with the new charges this year for simple office procedures. 50+ dollars to look at a slide under the microscope of ear infection. Not a culture just a quick look at a swab of the ear to see if it is mostly yeast or bacteria. Same thing with my cat with an eye infection 50 plus dollars to put a drop of fluorescent dye in his eye and look at the eye under UV light. These are not high cost procedures and it feels like price gouging to me as both procedures could be looked at as part of a routine exam to evaluate an ear of eye infection. They are simple procedures not time consuming. I could see paying 50 dollars if the ear swab had been sent to the lab for a culture but this wasnt done.

Each time I’ve booked my dog here, it always seems like there is some sort of confusion, and I feel like it’s been a little disorganized. I love everyone there, everyone has always been very kind and helpful, but there are a few incidents that I could have gone without.The first time my dog stayed here, they charged me incorrectly (In my favor, but I still corrected it to assure I paid fairly).The second time, I requested a bath and Kong toy, but at the time, the bath wasn’t working, which is fine, but also the Kong toy didn’t show up on my bill so I don’t know if it was ever given.On the third stay, the first thing that happened was that they stated my dog wasn’t booked for the correct amount of days, and that they couldn’t extend it due to they were booked because of the holiday weekend. My flight, at the time, was in four hours and I was of course in a state of panic. Prior to the visit, I had emailed and called to confirm the days, and was told everything was in place. Upon arrival, they had no record of this. Luckily, they were able to pull some strings and fix the situation and were able to accommodate, which was a great relief.While I was away, my dog ended up needing surgery, which they took care of. They ended up mistakenly charging me for the e-collar that I had brought from home for my dog’s kennel stay. When I arrived back for pick-up, there were several items missing from my personal bag, such as, old medicines (which I don’t care as much about), an entire bottle of Benedryl, and the leash that I brought (which I still have to ask about since they sent me home with a generic one). Lastly, it’s not a big deal, but her first bandage wrap worked out fine, and the second one that they applied came off the moment I arrived home, so I’m not sure what happened there, but it’s 30+ dollars each time to have the bandaid redone so I’m not thrilled about going back to fix it.I’m not extremely upset about these little things, but from a customer experience standpoint, there are a lot of areas of opportunity where certain things could have been prevented with a little more organization. I will continue to use your services because you guys are still great, and my dog likes it there, but hopefully things will be a bit smoother in the future.

I took my dog there for a second opinion for her adrenal gland and bladder cancer. They were so warm and explained everything. I was at another Vet clinic across town, I wont say their name, and I spent around $2,300 for tests and not once did they ever go over pet care options with me. Posting not out of anger but concern for others petsI took my rabbit in to get fixed. He gets sick without his food. Three people including the vet were told that he needs it after surgery. I picked him up after the surgery to find his food untouched, and him sick off of the food they gave him instead. This wouldnt be too terrible if there wasnt a urine stain on the top of his carrier. Hes very small and physically couldnt have done it himself. Plus it was clearly sprayed from the outside as the other side was clean. It stunk up the whole car whereas my rabbit is scentless when he goes.This is where it gets real badI dropped my rabbit at home and immediately went back to ask what happened to the carrier and his food. An assistant came out and I told him what happened. He confirmed it was pee but suggested it was the rabbits, then immediately went and cleaned it. He later took me to see the vet who didnt know how it happened or what gender my rabbit was despite having just removed his man parts.I went home as they werent going to do much, I just wanted to know if my pet had been peed on as he has an open wound.Sure enough I examined him and found spray on his back and shoulders. His eyes were also irritated from trying to clean himself. I called them asking for refund of the first time patient fee. Not the surgery, just the new patient fee as I didnt want to go back there and I have to now go pay another fee at another vets. They said they have to watch the video footage before they can do anything. Oh and they said the irritation might be from the eye drops they gave him, not the urine. I thought eye drops were supposed to help irritation, I guess not.

Dr. Churchill is our saving grace for our 9 month old Rottweiler who has been vomiting and had bloody diarrhea for 48 hours. Franklin ranch was completely impacted with soonest available appt Dec1. We were recommended to go to Vista Veterinary Specialists off of Green Haven who were a complete nightmare. They recommended we do $2k worth of testing after 6 hours of waiting for our dog to be seen.It’s terrifying how difficult it is to find a good vet these days who care about your fur child and don’t want to rip you off.Receptionists get 5 stars as they called to check on Kobe this AM and took it upon themselves to book him an appointment when they got a cancellation. A+ for Dr. Churchill for taking care of our boy. We can’t thank you enough and will never go anywhere else ever again!!! $500 later which was worth every penny, our boy is finally able to keep food down and is sleeping soundly.

The facilities are very up to date. The doctors are all very nice. I like they never push me for an upsell. Both of our dogs have had a surgery here. One had a minor dental surgery and the other had major knee surgery to correct luxating patella in both knees. The staff took great care of my dog and went above and beyond with the aftercare. They also have a groomer and boarding facility on the grounds. Weve never boarded there but we have seen the groomer. She does good work but gets booked up really quick.

Honestly, this place used to be amazing, but not anymore. Ive been coming here 9 years but will be switching now. Theyve recently had almost 100% turnover in their staff and its just not what it used to be. Ive sometimes sat in an exam room with a nervous dog for over a half hour waiting to be seen, even with an appointment. Weve had multiple injuries as a direct result of muzzles, theyre not transparent about mistakes made, charges for services arent consistent, theres no consistent reminder when vaccines are due, and prescription refills take a minimum of 24 hours. There are many places that can do better - choose them instead.

Taken a few of my animals here. Most recently, took my cat in for a possible abscess and infection under the chin. Couldn’t diagnose him at all but offered to do lab work for over $500. Ended up choosing antibiotics and hoping for the best (all I could afford). They also injected him with fluids (not sure why, but I’m not a doctor) which ended up causing a huge ball of fluids on his neck that popped and left a gaping hole. Weve been a customer for at least 2 years with this vet. The first year was great! Customer service was wonderful, they told us we can walk in any time to get our dogs nail trimmed, picked up meds with no issues, and regular check ups were fine. The last several months, they hired a new front desk person who is just nasty. Walked in to get the dogs nails trimmed and was scolded that we needed an appointment. They were able to do it anyways, said wed be called up in 10-20 minutes, but was ignored for almost an hour before being called up. Tried to pick up some meds another time, but was scolded that they would not do so until the annual check up was done. Theyre busy, so we could not get the exam or meds. We understand, but you dont have to be mean about it. Weve never had an issue with anyone else, just the front desk. This 2 star rating is for their customer service with their front line.

I would not recommend coming here with a critically ill pet. They may not have the necessary supplies or equipment to support your pets care. It may be an okay place for preventative care. I wouldnt know, we had to euthanize our dog.Just a tip: Make sure the IV catheter is patent prior to attempting to administering anesthesia or euthanizing medciation. Or at least change the site. Having to be told that in the morning it was working is not reassuring. Frankly, it makes you look incompetent when you say words like I personally made sure it worked this morning.

My parents have been going to franklin hotel for 8 years now and today was completely unacceptable & racist. My parents were standing in line waiting for my dog peaches to be seen by the doctor, and abruptly the staff at the counter let in a Caucasian couple from the side door to help them out first no appointment just a walk in, A few minutes later after the couple was done they now assisted another Caucasian couple again before my parents who came after my parents. That’s when my parents began to ask for a manager because this was unacceptable. When speaking to the manager cheryl, the first thing she says was “there staff is very diverse” SINCE the new staff change they have been very racist and very unprofessional and always making excuses for inappropriate behavior. It’s very sad they changed staff because our dogs loved this place and the previous staff was so awesome. Please be AWARE If you are minority PLEASE give your money else were. The facility is nice but the vet services did not meet my expectations/standards. i took my dog here to be treated for an ear infection. the treatment was expensive but did not work. Afterwards, i had my dog at FPR for day care while i went to the dentist about two weeks later and they never checked up on his ears, even after all the money i had shelled out. The vet said Hi to him when we checked in but did not send anyone to so much as peek in his ears, to my knowledge. Well his infection got worse after following their instruction and the situation became emergent with my dog yelping in pain. I took my dog to the Animal Care Center on Elk Grove Florin Rd. and for less than half the price his infection was beat in under a week and i got a FREE followup from this very competent and reasonable veterinarian, Dr. Singh at Animal Care Center. I just cant really recommend the vet services at Franklin Pet Ranch, as it seems it more about the money than the welfare of your pet. I want to like them because the facility looks nice but it seems like thats about all there is going for it. Boarding is ok. My dog comes out a little stressed instead of happy, like the place i have taken him in the bay area. He has always been excited to go to Paws Crossing. He is never excited about arriving at Franklin Pet Ranch. Sadly, not many other options in the Elk Grove area.

Before I authorized it I ask point blank after the first 2 tests if he is suffering in anyway will this help his quality of life?..He said First set of test was inconclusive and he needed more tests..4 days and $1500 later a sonogram showed he had a spot on his liver but Dr Ibrahim brushed it off as gallbladder and I was told his test were normal except white blood count. Other than that they told me he had a fatty liver no change in diet or special instructions just 2 antibiotics were given to me when I picked him up..3 days later Im back at the vet he still isnt eating normally Dr. Jordan said he has a spot on his liver it could be cancer but for $350 we can do a proper sonogram. Again why wasnt I told he was this sick?? I felt I was being played by using my emotions from my sick kitty to force me to do more tests, hospitalization, more money.. After 3 weeks of no change, I took him for a second opinion. The new vet read to me his records from Franklin Ranch. I was shocked and beside myself to find out that Dr. Ibrahim left a lot of information. She did an exam and sonogram (and didnt charge me) and he has a tumor twice the size of his liver and is bleeding in his stomach she said I had 2 options UC Davis or Let him go..Sad thing is this is the second time this did this to me!!

I took my dog Blu here they did exploratory surgery on him and couldnt find out what was wrong with Blu so before they put Blus insides back and closed him up they decided to call me tell me they couldnt figure out what was wrong with him and told me I should come say goodbye to my best friend. I told them NO you put him back together close him up wake him up and give him to me and Ill take care if him. Blu was back to normal in 3 days time with no thanks to Dr Emily Sutton. It has now been roughly 2 years and Blu is doing wonderful hes is 7 years old with the same love and playfulness as a puppy. I do not recommend Franklin Ranch, I would go to Vista and spend your money there.

POSSIBLE ANIMAL ABUSE IN ELK GROVE, CAHello:We are reporting possible animal abuse at the Franklin Ranch Pet Hotel in elk grove, ca. This past tuesday, our dog was placed there for the day due to it being 106 degrees while my parents were out of town. when picking up our pup, she had a fractured leg and all 4 paws burned. They denied it happened. We took her to our vet VA on Bradshaw and they confirmed the issues.ABC 10 did a story on it this evening and were denied access to any video and/or coming on their site to interview the manager. The manager denied the dog got injured there stating it was due to over usage of the legs.The owners have offered to pay all VET bills and offered to cover the surgery as necessary. But they deny any wrong doing. More and more stories are coming out now through social media about this place and it is worth looking into. Thank you.

My girlfriend and I took our mini dachshund puppy to this hospital for a possible abscess.The doctor immediately recommended a parvo test without examining the puppy first (the first examination completely missed the obvious swelling on her left hip) and had to be convinced that we wanted her to perform a physical exam before running a parvo test (which AGAIN, was not done upon processing as it should have been).On the initial invoice here is what we saw:Incorrect spelling of pets name.Incorrect spelling of owners name.Incorrect address of owner.Incorrect pet weight of 16 lbs (for a mini dachshund puppy? She weighs 6 pounds.)The incorrect weight lead to two prescriptions that were 3x proper dose. Both prescriptions had three sets of initials signing off that the information was correct.While the customer service was above satisfactory and they fixed the errors when brought up (without fuss I might add), this mistake could have ended with our puppy taking 3x the dose of NSAIDS and Antibiotics...Unfortunately we will not be returning unless absolutely necessary.

A little pricey but they care for your animals and only sell you products, meds or procedures that are needed. What vet is not pricey. Their priority is your animal, not how much they can take out of your wallet... I would give them 10 stars..I used to go to Bradshaw, but when they got bought out by a big corporation things changed and now all they care about is how much money they can get out of you. Of course that is the corporation who runs it.

I have been bringing my animals to Dr Strasser for over 14 years. He, and the group at Franklin Ranch are by far the very best Ive ever dealt with. Not only are the Veteranians excellent but the entire staff is phenomenal!! I recently had to have my beloved dog put to sleep and they could not have been more sensitive and caring.
