Dr. Petrigliano has consistently provided excellent care. When I was young I participated in the sport of body-building at the local gym and wore out my shoulder joints doing excessive deltoid muscle exercises with heavy weights. In hindsight, that was a big mistake, although I looked great and felt strong at the time. Both of my shoulder joints have been replaced in the last few years by Dr. Petrigliano and the replacement surgery ended the shoulder pain and his skillful surgical procedure did not restrict my shoulder mobility. The surgical procedure worked out excellently until recently when I was having unusual unexpected muscle fatigue and weakness in my right arm. I then called Dr. Petrigliano and he immediately scheduled an appointment to investigate the source of the problem. After an X-Ray and exam and a review with the neck specialist Dr. Gene Teckmyster, a new MRI of my neck revealed that the source of the problem was neurological stemming from a problem with nerve compression in my neck, calcification & a neck bone spur, and not a problem stemming from the prior shoulder surgery. In life, the test of a true professional is not when everything is going great, but when there is a problem post-surgery. It is at that moment when something unexpected arises that the best surgeons are resourceful and determined to find the root cause of the new problem and come up with the right solution so I can regain the lost strength in my right arm. Dr. Petrigliano and his team are top notch at working passionately to solve shoulder and arm problems and his extensive experience and focus on the recent unexpected muscle loss in my right arm almost 20 months after the joint replacement surgery to arrive at the correct neurological diagnosis has been very important to me and has given me peace of mind. Im as pleased with Dr. Petrigliano and his team today as I was when he first helped me with my shoulder pain a few years ago. And, by the way, since he replaced my shoulder joints a couple years ago I have enjoyed pain free movement and have resumed many of my outdoor activities without pain. I expect to eventually regain most of my recent muscle loss in my right arm after the upcoming ACDF minimally invasive neck procedure to restore the nerve function to my right arm. When you have a shoulder issue you can expect excellent results when you put your trust and confidence in Dr. Petrigliano.After 30+ years of recreational body-building I had completely worn out my left shoulder joint. At 67 years of age my shoulder had arthritis, bone spurs, and it was bone-on-bone. The pain was so bad I couldnt sleep on my left side. I contacted my nephew, an Orthopedic Surgeon getting his fellowship at the UCLA Medical Center and he referred me to Dr. Frank Petrigliano. The initial consultation was informative and helpful. He said I was a good candidate for a complete shoulder joint replacement. We scheduled the surgery and everything went as planned. Dr. Petrigliano is passionate about achieving outstanding results for his patients. The recovery went well and I was out of the sling in six weeks and completed all physical therapy in the 2 months thereafter. It has now been 90 days post-surgery and my shoulder has excellent mobility and no pain whatsoever. It is beyond wonderful! I can now resume my active lifestyle and do a little kayaking and other fun recreational activities that I could not do before the surgery. I recommend Dr. Petrigliano without reservation to any person with shoulder pain. Life is just too short to live with pain when a great solution is available.

Dr. Petrigliano has treated our son, ACL restructure, assessed and prescribed treatment for my 65 year old knee and made recommendations to my wife for her knee replacement surgery. This review might be slightly different than others. I was a patient of Dr. Petriglianos for over a year before scheduling shoulder replacement surgery. After our initial consultation, Dr. Petrigliano confirmed that I needed replacement of both shoulders. I actually saw another orthopedic surgeon who wanted me to wait on surgery. Im not sure about anyone else who may be reading this, but shoulder replacement surgery is not to be taken lightly. You need to be all in and have confidence in your doctor and the care that you will receive. Dr. Petrigliano is capable, professional and knows whats best. Its these characteristics that have propelled me through surgery and the road to recovery. If youre considering shoulder replacement, I highly recommend Dr. Petrigliano. My additional advice is dont take this type of surgery lightly. Successful recovery is part post surgical care and a predominance of self determination.

He is absolutely amazing!! Not only is he super sweet, But he fixed my leg. I had 2 previous knee surgeries and that doctor couldnt get my knee to bend or straighten. Dr Petrigliano had to replace my left shoulder which was badly damaged by arthritis. Unfortunately, I knew what to expect as I had the right one replaced 4 years ago by another surgeon. My primary Doctor recommended me Dr. Petrigliano for a shoulder injury. Went to my visit and Dr. Petrigliano was straight up forward did have some pain on my shoulder and was recommended to get surgery. He was always checking up on me before and after my surgery. Cmon who calls his patient on a saturday night to see how hes doing... I would highly reccomend Dr. Petrigliano to anyone who needs it.
I cannot speak highly enough of my experience of Frank Petriglianos skill as a surgeon, and I would both return to him myself and recommended others to consult with him. His technique was minimally invasive as he totally replaced my right shoulder, with the result that I experienced little pain either in the hospital or afterwards. I can also commend him for his bedside manner. He is courteous, kind very interested in what I had to say, explaining the procedure and showing me the x-rays. Follow up was detailed and just as considered as the surgery. His office staff is equally superb. Its been four years since my surgery, and I have the best right shoulder Ive ever lived with!
I fractured my shoulder 3 days before arriving in California. I was referred here by my doctor at home. I could not have had a more pleasant experience. Dr. Frank Petrigliano is amazing! I waited so long to have surgery until I met Dr. Petrigliano. He is so professional and is an incredible surgeon. Everybody was telling me don’t do the surgery it’s painful, you will never be the same. When I met Dr. Petrigliano I knew I could handle it. He was confident, told me I would come back 100% if I listened to him. Well I did have my surgery on my rotator cuff and bicep repair and I am doing fabulous six weeks out I’m way ahead of where I should be. I had no pain and if I did I just took naproxen did not need heavy duty pain killers. It’s all about your Doctor, and Dr. Petrigliano is my hero. I’m still in PT doing great, wish I knew about Dr. Petrigliano a year ago. Being an Italian helps too!!!!

Ive had many surgeries, both hands, both feet and two laminectomies on my spine yet none were as successful as when i had my Total Shoulder Replacement done in may of 2017 by Dr. Frank Petrigliano at UCLA Hospital in Santa Monica. His Team did a phenomenal job in making me feel comfortable and that surgery went well, youll laugh when I tell you the Hospital food was delicious! I am still in Physical Therapy and I can see my progress weekly. He and his team get my 5 stars!
I was extremely happy to get my meniscectomy from Dr. Petrigliano. I started to treat my right knee first (both my knees suffer from a torn meniscus) in February this year. It took me only 3 days after the surgery to get rid of the crutches, and I recovered fully in less than a month. Encouraged by such a successful surgery, I went to see Dr. Petrigliano again in April and had a meniscectomy for my left knee as well. It was also a great success. Now I can ski without any pain, which is such an improvement to my life. A sure five star rating for Dr. Petrigliano!
Absolutely excellent in every way. I had waited for years. I heard the process and recovery would be very painful, long and awful. The actual results were terrific. The hospital and surgery went very well. The over-night at Keck was simple and totally withut pressure. The nurses were excellent, Dr. Petrigliano and Dr. Paco superb.Subsequently, PT at home for 4 weeks. Dr. Petrigliano let me out of the sling yesterday. Im doing almost everything, being careful with certain motions. Just reaching for a parking ticket going into a lot used to be so painful. Today nothing to it.The whole experience has been excellent. Dr.P is very easy to talk to and he spends time to make me feel good and educated.Im thrilled that I did it. The pain level is nearly 0. Thank you Dr. P and the team at Keck.
I had been suffering from osteoarthritis in my left shoulder for years. I had seen other doctors but had made no progress toward a solution. I was referred to Dr Petriaglino by a friend who told me he was the shoulder rock star. It was true. He and his entire staff are caring, professional and exceptionally responsive. We had to delay surgery for a month due to COVID but as soon as USC Keck opened for elective surgeries, I was scheduled. He performed a reversed shoulder replacement at 7:30 am and I was back home by 1 pm. My recovery was remarkable and the pain I had been experiencing for 3 years was gone. It’s been 4 months now and my range of motion is ahead of schedule. I cannot thank Dr P and his staff enough for their care and professionalism.
I saw Dr. Petrigliano for what seemed to be phantom leg pain and after having bounced around a few other doctors was grateful for the time that Dr. Petrigliano spent with me trying to identify the problem. Ended up being a small herniated muscle - not life threatening but was nice to have a name for the issue and suggestions on how to avoid aggravating it. I will certainly visit Dr. Petrigliano for any orthopedic issue I may face in the future and feel very confident recommending him for more serious issues. I saw Dr. Petrigliano in the El Segundo location and his front desk staff was professional and easy to interact with as well via phone and email. Also nice was that the x-ray technician was available right away. The office is beautiful, spacious and, big bonus, has very convenient parking!
My mom just recently underwent rotator cuff surgery with biceps tenodesis by Dr. Petrigliano. She had put off having surgery for several years due to being told by so many people that it was an excruciatingly painful surgery with a long and difficult recovery. As a nurse, I did my research and consulted with both my colleagues and the physicians with whom I work to find the absolute best possible physician. Unanimously, they all recommended Dr. Petrigliano. Feeling confident with the recommendation, my mom preceded to set up an appointment and then surgery with him. He is not only an incredibly gifted and talented surgeon, but he has a kind and empathetic bedside demeanor that is rare to find in a physician of his caliber these days. Surgery went great and my mom is recovering unbelievably well. She had almost no post-op pain and is exceeding all expectations in physical therapy. I am so grateful for Dr. Petrigliano and the care that he has provided her with, and would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat. He is truly magnificent!!
I had a full ACL tear while I was doing an actin scene, Dr Frank suggested surgery to me because of my work nature and my age he thinks that I have a lot more to give so I should fix it.I agreed and the surgery went smoothly the Anastasia people tricked me and before I know it I woke up from the surgery 😂🤣Surgery was successful and I had a long recovery ❤️🩹 road that was challenging 😰 but Dr used to see me regularly to check on me.I’m fully recovered now and very grateful to have a strong solid knee.
I saw Dr. P about 6-7 weeks ago for a consult on my shoulder. Very nice man, great bedside manners, very knowledgeable. I did not feel that he was rushed to get in/get out of the consult. He offered to have me contact him in the future if I had any questions or concerns. Of course, in the days following my consult with him I did realize there were questions that I forgot to ask him. I emailed him via the Keck patient portal. That was about 6 weeks ago and have not received a response as of this review.Dr. Petrigliano recently reached out to me in response to my questions, and I appreciate this very much. All good. I saw Dr. Petrigliano on two separate occasions for a knee and an elbow injury after a referral from my general practitioner. Dr. Petrigliano has the best bedside manner, is super friendly and always took the time to find out the cause of my injuries. After my office visits, I was able to rehabilitate both the knee and elbow with a physical therapist. Overall I feel that Dr. Petrigliano is extremely knowledgeable and experienced and additionally, really cares about his patients and doing what is best for them.

I came to Dr. Petrigliano with a broken clavicle from a snowboarding accident (28 y.o.). I compared two surgeons to fix my bone and choosing Dr. Petrigliano was the best decision I could have made. During my consultation he took a hands on approach, learning my mobility and ensuring no other injuries around the broken bone. He talked me through the most updated medical theory in healing clavicles, and thoroughly explained the process. I did not need to know the questions to ask, he patiently and clearly offered the information. The surgery he performed had zero issues or complications, the bone healed perfectly, and the incision was clean leaving a high probability of no scarring. His bedside manner throughout the whole process was calming and built my confidence in him. What really set him apart from the majority of my experiences with doctors is that he gives his personal cellphone number. I intermittently texted him questions pre procedure and post procedure and he responded within 24 hours. Good man, great doctor.
I highly recommend Dr. Petrigliano with full confidence. From his bedside manner to the procedure itself: A+++. I went to see Dr. Petrigliano based on a recommendation for a full rotator cuff tear. Post surgery, i barely needed any pain meds and i have to attribute that to Dr. Petrigliano. Dr.P is the best! I waited 1.5 years post surgery to write this review. I wanted to make sure the results withstood time. In June 2014 I completely tore my distal bicep tendon. As a professional athlete this Is quite possibly the worst injury to recover from that isnt spine related. From first visit to last Dr.P made every single part of surgery so comfortable. From contact to my loved ones during and after surgery. To the flawless execution of the dual incision distal bicep tendon surgery. The road to recovery through recovery was long, and frustrating. As promised I have regained % 100 function of my arm. Breaking new plateaus I would say 120% better function. Dr.P also educated me on why tendons tear. Which has lead me to workout smarter. I would highly recommend Dr. Frank Petrigliano as your orthopedic surgeon.
Dr. Petrigliano presented a comprehensive review of all the surgical and non=surgical options available for treatment of the chronic pain in my left knee and wrote prescriptions for physical therapy and an anti-inflammatory..

My scars are small and recovery quick compared to others I know who have gotten this surgery. Dr. P is confident and puts you at ease about the surgery. I would only let my loved ones go to him if need be.

2020-09-12 19:51:53Dr Petrigliano replaced my right shoulder one year ago. Total anatomical. Recovery has been more than satisfactory—“amazing” seems an overused term but in my case it’s spot on. I had immediate pain relief, out of sling at five weeks, excellent progress at every check up, full range of motion and no problems at all now. Dr Petrigliano encourages physical therapy during recovery, which I did and also highly recommend. He is easy to talk to, he listens, explains clearly, doesn’t rush. I always leave my appointments with him feeling upbeat and cared for. I saw my X-rays yesterday and they are really beautiful. I’ve already recommended him to a friend needing emergency care and their experience was also excellent. He gets ten stars from me.

Dr. Petrigliano is a highly skilled, attentive, empathetic and respectable doctor who focused on treating my injury. From the moment I called the office, I was able to get in for a visit right away due to my injury and concern. I visited Dr. Petrigliano for a second opinion due to poor care I received from an Orthopaedic doctor in the Antelope Valley. Fortunately I had a fellow doctor at Keck Medicine USC who highly recommended I reach out to Dr. Petrigliano based on his expertise. Dr. Petrigliano and his intern took the time to review my images, discuss findings and performed necessary tests in order to customize the care I needed for treatment and recovery. Dr. Petrigliano recommended starting physical therapy asap to regain range of motion without a delay in the healing process. I went to physical therapy twice a week for 3 months and continued with home exercises with a goal to heal 100%. As the patient (remember you can have a great Dr., but the patient must follow the doctors orders in order to reach optimal results/healing), which I did; I was able to gain full range of motion back without any restrictions by completing physical therapy sessions and daily home care exercise routine. Words can not express the gratitude and respect I have for Dr. Petrigliano and his team! Highly recommend Dr. Petrigliano for optimal care and recovery. I am 70 and had a fantastic outcome and healing experience with Dr. P. Highly recommend him. Professional and caring. Excellent surgeon. Excellent follow up. I am pain free and wonder why I waited so long. He is Top Gun 5 star!

2022-12-06 18:57:33Dr. Frank Petrigliano is the ultimate professional and more.Dr. Petrigliano performed a AC joint revision shoulder surgery on me after my first surgery failed, performed by another shoulder surgeon. I was grateful that I found Dr. Petrigliano who gave me new hope in a full recovery from the very first minute I walked into his office.The revision surgery was necessary to repair the torn ligaments in my clavicle after a snowboard accident in July 2020. Dr. Petrigliano was quick to diagnose my injury as an actual Grade V injury. He offered the only modern, well-researched method that was proven to give better results than the traditional method that was originally used. Every other surgeon I visited recommended repeating the traditional method, which in my case, had already failed. Dr. Petrigliano also advised me of the consequences of doing the traditional method since I already had hardware/screws in there, my bone could shatter from redoing it. He advised me that he would remove all the broken hardware from the previous surgery, reconstruct my shoulder, and add a metal hook plate to stabilize my shoulder that would later be removed. He also did not have me start exercises for a month to ensure the hardware and tissue would heal properly and support my arm. He was calm, personable, and made sure to answer all of my questions and concerns. He was confident and constantly reassured me that my shoulder would make a full recovery.Dr. Petrigliano performed the revision surgery in November 2020 and a follow up procedure to remove hardware in February 2021. During recovery after the surgery, I did not feel any bones grinding, or had swelling and the pain level was minimal compared to the prior failed surgery. After the surgery he gave me his personal phone number to contact him for any questions. He called me the next day after the surgery to make sure I was okay. I couldn’t believe it. It is almost unheard of to be able to reach a doctor this quickly without making an appointment. He is also quick to respond and never leaves you waiting. In addition, he and his experienced surgery team employed superb and skillful surgical & stitching techniques to close and clean up a very large scar that was thick and lumpy left from the first surgery. He not only reconstructed my shoulder joint but corrected everything that was done wrong previously. I also learned that he rotated my shoulder during surgery to make sure there were no other issues that would prevent my shoulder from performing normal rotations as well as arthroscopic surgery to make sure my rotator cuff was not damaged. During the entire recovery, his office staff was constantly on the phone with my insurance company providing documents and helping me anyway they could. Dr. Petrigliano and his office staff truly went above and beyond their call of duties for me and I couldn’t ask for more. They provided me with consistent great support, never quit on me or gave me a hard time. He has fantastic bedside manner, and it was never an issue to make an appointment to see him if I had any concerns. The whole surgery and recovery experience was a day-and-night difference from my first surgery.I also appreciate the fact the PT office is located on the same premises adjacent to Dr. Petrigliano’s office, within the same building and there is constant communication amongst them to ensure I am making progress as they expected. Since PT is critical to recovery, I feel this synergy benefited my recovery. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Petrigliano and his staff from top to bottom. He is by far the best doctor I have ever dealt with who genuinely cares about his patients. I would highly recommend him to anyone who values exemplary medical skill sets, superb patient care services, and admirable professionalism. I would have been left permanently disabled if it was not for the excellent care of Dr. Petrigliano. 2022-10-07 16:24:20I cannot begin to explain what a fantastic surgeon and individual Dr. Petrigliano is. I separated my AC joint 6 months ago and needed ac joint reconstruction surgery asap (i am a 29 year old male) . I went to a local surgeon that was recommended to me by a friend, but i didnt feel reassured and confident in his methods of repair. After basically researching every surgeon in California, I contacted Dr. P along and 2 others with my concerns, to see if the surgery I needed was something they had experience with. He quickly responded which was a surprise in itself and his professional and empathetic response inclined me to make an appointment with him. After my first visit with Dr. P I knew he was the guy for me. He was calm, collected and very confident which made me feel at ease. Hes simply a badass. He was always there to answer my questions and provide assistance with any other issues that came up. He was able to squeeze me in to his schedule on short notice as i wanted to get the surgery asap.The surgery went successfully and its been 6 months post op and I have 100% use of my arm. My main concern going into the surgery was being able to get back to my strength training regimen as well as playing the drums again and thank God I am back at it. I also put in a lot of work post op with my physical therapist, making sure to do my exercises daily as well as maintaining a health lifestyle and doing everything i can to assist in the healing and recovery of the repair. I cannot begin to thank Dr. P enough for his amazing work and I am blessed that i was able to get taken care of by him.

2022-07-08 19:03:56I had an appointment to have my knee looked at and determine if surgery was necessary for an ACL repair. It might have been the first time I had a doctor actually see me at the time of my appointment. The team was extremely polite and respectful during my entire visit. Dr. Petrigliano was very empathetic of my injury, showed interest in my physical well-being and asked for my opinions after going over my options which made me feel very comfortable that I was involved in the process. I was able to schedule my surgery in a very reasonable amount of time and I believe and trust Dr. Petrigliano will do a great job.
