What a wonderful shop! Deana and her husband, the shop owners, are kind and generous. They helped me find just the right violin. This included sourcing a rare type of chin rest I needed as well as custom milling my bridge. Even though I had some unusual needs, they were positive and optimistic the whole way through about figuring out a solution. They’re fantastic with turnaround times and keeping the customer in the loop. I’d recommend this shop to anyone! Looking forward to visiting this shop again and to attending the smashing concerts they’ve started to host too!

Wonderful experience. Came with a couple of violins not knowing which is a best or even if they are ready to be played. Left with a cleaned and tuned violin. Deana showed us the basics of the violin and how to keep maintained. Knowing that the instrument was for a beginner, they where nice enough to provide a rosinlin and a cleaning rag. Erick noticed that the bow needed repair. Instead of paying for a hefty repair he was nice enough to provide a better fit bow for free. Erick was even nice enough to play us a lovely violin solo to show the awesome musical power of the instrument. I felt very comfortable coming to this business to get my childs instrument ready for play especially not knowing anything about violins. Will look into violin lessons here in the future.

My son was looking for a full sized violin. We have no experience with instruments. The options to buy a used violin were quite extensive. We were fortunate to find Forte violin shop and they provided us with the best experience we could have asked for. The husband and wife owners offered us very honest and transparent recommendation for my sons violin. They didn’t try to up sale us and recommended what they thought based on my sons level. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. They spent a lot of quality time with us helping us decide on the right violin. I highly recommend this store. They were 30 minutes away from us but the drive was well worth our time.

Found my long time childhood violins. Originally wanted to get them tuned and restring so I can pick up practicing and possibly teach my 4 and 2 year old HAHA. Forte Strings was able to help me with a quick fix and turn around compared to other stores. They were extremely friendly & professional. I was told the size would still be too large for my boys & guided me to the correct size. Yes, like all instruments prices varies but very reasonable priced. I came back in two days with new strings, new bridge, new bow & perfectly restored instrument! They offer classes you can enroll so I might possibly consider going back to take some refresh course :)

I took my son to Forte Strings because we were looking into getting his first professional cello. When we arrived, Deana and her husband (the store owners) were very patient and incredibly helpful, they brought my son different cellos from their extended options for him to test out until he found the perfect one for him. My son had an audition the following week and Im very proud to say with the cello he chose, he made it and hes now part of the Azusa Pacific University Symphony Orchestra. While traveling to visit family in Southern California, a peg on my daughters viola got stuck. When she tried to fix it, the bridge popped out. We brought it to the store and the person there fixed and tuned it immediately for no charge. We so appreciate their kindness!

Wonderful service. I went in with the viola Ive had since I was in middle school with its strings gone, bows unusable, case falling apart, and they were able to turn it around and make it look like it was new again.I will definitely be shopping here for all of my viola needs, and even more if I ever go back to playing the cello again.Edit: Because I cant leave a second review, unfortunately, Im adding on to say that I went back again, and the service was just as good, if not better, than it was before. Forte Strings is an awesome musical instrument company in downtown Fullerton. My family was there this week to tune a viola and violin for my kids. The staff there were absolutely terrific. They took their time to inspect the instruments. They replaced the strings on my son’s violin and hooked us up with a new bow. They tuned both instruments and gave the kids lots of tips on how to handle and care for the instruments. Luckily, they had the books the kids needed for orchestra, so we didn’t have to make an extra trip. The whole place had a warm and friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend this place!

Best service ever! We walked in off the street knowing we needed to upgrade my daughters violin, but not knowing much about violins. The owners so fabulous to play a few of the violins and show us the differences. They sent us home with one to play for the week before committing to purchasing our next investment. When we came back the next week they talked my young daughter through what it was she liked about the violin she had borrowed and what she didnt like. They then picked a few more for her to try out and let her play them until she felt comfortable with picking one. They made her feel so special and safe. She was so timid to play in front of anyone, but they encouraged her and told her how amazing she was.We left feeling like the most important customers they had ever worked with. And assured us that if she played it this week and anything felt off, to come back.Their prices were much lower than many of the other string stores in the OC and LA area. 100% recommend to everyone! The service was fabulous and the prices cannot be beat.

We had a great experience at Forte Strings. Our 4th grader needed a violin and we were debating renting vs buying since we didnt know if he was going to like it and stick with it. We found Forte on Yelp and came to take a look on a Saturday afternoon. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and helped immediately. The folks that were working were very helpful, patient, and answered all of our questions. They were able to point us to an entry-level, yet really nice quality 3/4 sized violin for a good price. To top it off, they said that once our kid outgrows it, we can trade it in for a larger size. Were definitely coming back again!

Forte Strings is amazing! I brought an 89 yr old woman who caretake and her ancient violin. Shes very particular woman and barely lets anyone touch her violin, but Deana and her husband were wonderful. They knew exactly what to do and perfectly and delicately tuned her violin right in front of us. They also gave her a cleaning cloth for free, and on top of that, they didnt even charge us for their services. I was blown away. And they made an old ladys day. Beautiful experience.

We are so glad to find Forte Strings on internet. We were wondering about all the positive good reviews they have received so we decided to visit them. My wife called them to make an advance appointment. Forte Strings did not let us down. This is a wonderful string instruments shop with five stars service. I visited Forte Strings Violin Shop for the first time this evening and was blown away by how helpful the staff is. I recently decided to pursue learning to play the cello and having ordered one from Amazon, of course, It did not arrive set up. This lovely couple installed the bridge, the sound post and tuned it for me. The lady even gave me a few pointers as she plays the cello. They didn’t charge me for the service they provided and were so polite throughout the entire interaction. Will definitely be giving them my business in the future.

My son and I stopped by since we were in the area to get his violin fixed and our experience was hands down the greatest! Not only were the owners personable and knowledgeable, but they did not try to nickel and dime us and try to upsell us on things that were not needed. Not only that, but I witnessed their customer service with the customers that came before us and they are truly top notch! Even though we live about 25 minutes away, we are in the area weekly and now I know where to go for all our violin/stings needs! We love this place. My son was interested in learning cello so was my daughter in violin so we visited Forte Strings after reading the positive reviews and we never regret it. They have an affordable rental program for string instruments which was really helpful for beginners. After the 3 month rental period, my daughter finally got her own violin at this shop yesterday. Both owners helped her find which violin suited her best and explained in detail how to regularly maintain it well. Great experience so far. My daughter is so happy with her beautiful violin and well be visiting this place again soon to purchase my sons cello.

First of all, I really like this place because the owners are violinist and cellist. If youre looking to restart your musical journey or embark on a new one, this is the perfect place for you. I play on a family heirloom violin that hadnt been used in 8+ years. I knew it needed some repairs after being idle for so long. (Plus, the fear of the E string snapping made me apprehensive to change the strings myself.) After receiving a high quote for repairs at a different store, I was discouraged. This wasnt the case at Forte Strings. All this violin needed was new strings and a new tailpiece. Prices were more than reasonable. Deanna and Eric were welcoming and accommodating to my needs. Im so excited to restart my violin journey, and Im very grateful for coming into this store.

I went in as a complete beginner and I was pretty apprehensive about being disregarded or taken advantage. But they were very kind and didnt pressure me at all. This store was recommended to us by my sons violin teacher but I came to the store to buy a violin for my husband. We are very happy with our purchase. The owner brought out a selection of beginner violins and played each one for us so we could hear the difference in the quality of the sound. I needed to get a 1/10th size violin for a student and had called around but no one had such a small violin. I have searched about 15 music stores in southern california before i came across Forte Strings. I called the store and was met with the most helpful, welcoming and supportive attitude by the owner. I drove about an hour and a half to get there and it was SO worth it! First of all, the customer service is amazing, it truly makes all the difference. The owners are accomplished musicians (violinist and cellist) so they can really give expert advice! I was looking for a 1/4 size violin for my son and i was amazed when i got to the store and they had lined up 6 violins for us to choose from. The owner played each one for us to hear, then i was allowed to play them each and my son too before choosing the right one. They even offered my kids snacks while we were there. We did not feel rushed. They LOVE young musicians there and they really encourage the kids’ interest in music. You can tell the owners have a passion for music and they want to share that with others, especially little ones. This store is so clean, and the instruments are all shiny and clean, very well cared for as they wait for their future owner😀 Their prices are great for the good quality instrument you get and they worked with us on the accessories and really wanted to give my son the best they could so he would succeed in his performances. What a breath of fresh air...musically speaking. I have been recommending it to many friends already and we will always go back to purchase the next sizes up as our son grows! We decided to go after reading the reviews. My son needed a violin for school because he wasnt doing vocal. The gentleman there was very friendly and welcoming. I wasnt able to get the violin that day because it wasnt in the price range I was looking for. The gentleman promised that he would have one in the price range that I was looking for. Returned the next day and as promised the violin was there. My son was ecstatic to see the violin because that meant he was going to learn to play an instrument and not have to settle for vocal. Deana and Eric were very helpful when I brought in my cello for repair, rather for its resurrection. They have a high level of integrity to tell me what needs to be done to make it an effectively useable instrument again. The cost was outside my budget. They provided me with a used string and bow, just to see if its going to be playable after Deana worked on it. All at no cost. I often travel to Fullerton for work, and stumbled upon this violin shop on my latest trip. This place has all of the above - high-quality instruments, professional knowlegeable staff, full-service repair, classical and antique feel. I first came to this place couple weeks ago and it became my favorite place to fix and buy string instruments for my students. The prices were very reasonable and instruments were far better than the other shops that I have visited. The owner is a violinist and owners wife is also a cellist, which means that they are experts in this field. They also have connection to great string teachers in this area so if you are looking for a teacher, definitely ask the owner for recommendation. Definitely one of the best string instrument shops in OC area.. the owner couple studied violin and cello as their major so their knowledge about the sound is authentic and that is a huge merit as a string shop owner. Their instruments have nice quality and reasonable prices compare to any other violin shops in Southern California. The best thing of this string shop is.. you can find a teacher right away and can start lessons at the studio attached to the shop. All the teachers in the studio have amazing careers and have a lot of teaching experiences, so you can find terrific instruments and wonderful teachers at the same time. Well organized instrument rooms, very friendly owners with great atmosphere (you might be able to meet their adorable two kids), and you can also have a delicious coffee at this shop. 😊

It’s been 5 months since I’ve purchased my second violin here, and the violin i purchased is of high standard. I got it for $200 and I played ‘guess the price’ with my prestigious violin teacher and he guessed $500, what a deal! I came in to have my violin checked -- I had bought Kaplan Amo strings on Amazon and wanted a second opinion on how they fit (spoiler, they didnt fit right at all... We went with Evahs instead). I also wanted to get my bridge checked as Ive noticed a bit of warping. Forte Strings was SO helpful in making sure my violin is ready for my upcoming performance! They also gave me free rosin and a free cloth to clean my instrument. The place is set up so it feels very homey but very professional and museum-like.
