Prices are good, lines are long.There was only one checkout person.Self checkout only had one open spot and I had to get help from an off duty employee.Management needs to be better are sufficiently staffing their stores.

I bought chicken wings cost 17$ when I opened the bag at home, I found pieces of bones, crushed wings, frozen bloody meat. The smell was terrible. I can not say its wings at all. I cant even feed my dog with that.

Well today was different there was a veteran older cashier there of caucasian influence, normally theres a very rude African o k der lady that acts like she picked it packaged and put in the stock to store i dont think she appreciates that me and mi wife go there to get groceries and we spend well over 400 to 500 dolla there her service is vomit 🤢 😉 other than that great place to shop .

I was trying to buy bread, but it was moldy. I told a few workers and a supervisor but they said its not their product, and said they will wait until the company clears the shop. Its been 2 days, and no one bothered to remove it.

Shopping at foodmax today was just delightful. They had many holiday things to choose from that I found just great. And their prices are always great. And theyre the only store that I can find near me that carries the Popsicles that I love!👍🏻 They also carry a wide variety of ceramic pots in various sizes, that are just gorgeous, located outside the front of the store.

I recently moved to Hayward about 10 mins away from this FoodMaxx and I can honestly say I do not recommend this store.The quality of the produce (fresh fruits, veggies) is low. I would recommend Safeway near by for better quality.Overall, the products may be consider cheap but the quality is not there; chicken, fruits, etc (real food).The staff does what they can but the lines are usually super long. I always get a laugh at the self check out person just standing or sitting there on their phone while people wait instead of helping get people out the door.The outside of the store (parking, etc) is extremely dirty, and very dark at night.I’ve seen people there taking a dump or exposing themselves. Lots of people suffering from addiction or some sort of mental crisis.Overall, I don’t recommend. FoodMaxx needs to work on providing better quality fresh foods, and customer service to the community. They know they can get away with just the minimum.

My wife and I have been coming here for a few years now and we like it better than the other grocery stores food maxx has the same products but at a much better price! We love the $25 meat box that lasts us a long time and the price is right. They could use more cashier but that is a problem in a lot of stores.

2022 Valentines day(Monday) around 7pm, There was a female employee at self checkout. She was so rude to me and so slow. There was a long waiting line and we waited for some time. I was off work and so tired and wanted to check out very quickly and go home. But she started cleaning the station when it was my turn, and took so long, she moved very slowly. So I went up to the station but had some space to her. Then she turned around and said very rude to me asked me to stay back steps away from her. Her attitude was so rude and impatient like customer bother her! I was not just next to her, I kept long distance to her, she should not order customer to stay away.and also she picked wrong time to clean the station and move so slowly without considering the situation they had there! Very bad and rude employee. She should be retrained or fired!

Poor customer service! I arrived at opening to get a turkey that went on sale today and to be sure to get one at that price. turkeys over 12 pounds werent even out. the guys were just standing around chatting. I had to ask about the turkeys needing a 25 pound turkey. he said oh yah we have to unload them in about a half hour. I told him I came early just for the turkey so can I please get one. I waited 45 min. horrible, should be ready, put out ready to go at opening. especially for the holidays. ppl want to get in and get out. follow your advertisement and not make customers wait like that!

Lines are very long during peak hours with not enough checkers, so expect to spend 20 to 30 minutes extra to checkout or shop during off-peak hours. Items are stocked well and aisles are spacious, so you can shop without interruption from traffic jams. Another perk, is couponless shopping while getting great prices, but that is true for all locations.

Its a great place. I know, because I used to work there. The Price is Right the produce is great the meeting poultry and all that is quality stuff. The only drawbacks are, are that they dont sell certain brand name products like del Monte and the lines tend to be long when you want to check out and pay for your stuff. Open late and have great deals on produce. There are even some healthy options if you pay attention to the ingredients labels. Although, be prepared to wait in a somewhat long line if you shop at 11pm at night like I did. Luckily the cashier was relatively fast.

Management at this location is inadequate. checkout lines are routinely long and cashier speed is equivalently slow. there is very little sense of quality customer service in that area. the store is clean. bakery and dairy are effectively managed but the whole store needs a revolution in efficiency.

Overall I always have a good experience in this Food Maxx, although this is one of the busier Food Maxx. The only problem i had are in the checkout area. The lines are long because there are only 1-2 cash registers open (3 if it gets extremely busy, I digress). Cashiers can get rude at times but that can be due to the high workload of workers. One cashier today was pretty rude. The way that she spoke was very condescending, all because we were correcting her on a price of coffee. She might need an attitude check or quit working here because she should not speak to people like that.

They need to keep this place clean, especially in the parking lot. Ive already had two accidents here! Today an area of the produce department was a little wet and I slipped.... again! Im talking about in front of so many people including my two kids! I had to find someone to wipe down the area because I didnt want anyone else slipping. FoodMaxx is extremely lucky that Im not one to sue anyone... however, they should be a lot careful. This might not turn out so well when it comes to the next person. I shop here because its closest to my house and I like the low cost of the produce. Everything else, like customer service and cleanliness definitely needs improvement.

What is good about this grocery store:1. They have really good promo actions. Once you get their coupons, you can get a full fried chicken, a 24-bottle pack of water, a 5 lb bag of potatoes for free. Besides, you get $10 off if you spend more than $50 there.2. They have cheap vegetables. I do not know about the quality though, but the prices are low indeed. You can see how they are lower than in the Safeway or in other grocery stores.3. Staff is friendly and helpful.What is bad about this place.1. They are missing good bakery section, or at least I did not find it. They are also missing selected cheese section.2. You might be fooled by thinking they have everything for low price. Some items, such as yougurts, or can food or dishwashing detergents might be more expensive than ones in Safeway or Walmart. You should know the prices of items you buy if you really want to maximize your savings.3. All the store feels kind of too cheap and comfortless. However, there cannot be cheap stuff in an expensive store, so you need to choose what you want.

Thier biggest problem is long lines at cash registers, hire more people or schedule efficiently. 2nd problem, the parking lot. Lot of shady characters hanging out in the parking lot. Use caution. And hire someone to wash the parking lot once a month, so sticky and icky.

Lines are always long, staff is very rude. Just yesterday morning I went through self check out. I realized there was no one there monitoring the self service area when the lady in front of me asked the checker at the line next to self check out for the code to enter for a 24pk of water bottles, the checker got a really irritated look on her face, stopped helping her current customer and walked over and started typing it in on the screen. She then said to the lady next time just go through the line, dont nobody got time to be yelling out codes. Then when it was my turn, I put back a pack of oatmeal that was on clearance because I knew it would require a checkers help and there clearly was not one for this area. I ended up getting some kinda error anyway and I asked the same checker to help she again was clearly irritated and left her current customer to come clear it. I asked where I get bags from she then told me they were out of paper bags but I could buy plastic bags for 25 cents each...are u kidding me...how is a grocery store out of bags? And you dont even offer a reasonable solution such as charging me what you would for paper because of your companys mistake. I ended up leaving with no bags and causing myself all kinds of headaches getting the stuff from the car to the house.

I discovered theres no Safeway or Luckys in our neighborhood near Tennyson, in Hayward its not that I love them so much I said I cant go to Smart and Final and Costco everyday. I accidentally discovered that theres a FoodMaxx on the corner of Hesperian and Tennison, and I cant be happier the prices are really good theres really good deals, its not pretentious you go in you get what you need and you leave and the bill was $42. I love that.

Im lowering my score. I must complain about their new shelf price labels. Now they have EXTRA VALUE and EVERYDAY BUY to their shelfs and Can Be Very Miss Leading. Case in point:I found a 24 pack of flour tortillas for $5.33. They have a 10 pack same brand for $1.99. Most people would think that buying a 24 pack (bigger size) would be more of a better BUY because of quantity but clearly its cheap buying two of the smaller pack and ignoring the flashier label. Another of representation is their Bohemian selections of bread. They use a label EXTRA VALUE @ $2.13, when actually this brand can be found anywhere from $1.79 to $1.99 which I used to purchase here at Food Maxx. They are using these fancy labels in order for you to but the product, which is the name of the game of Retail. So Consumers beware, read you labels...you may not be getting the best deal after all.
