Great food and service. Lobster bisque is really good (and filling). Meat was served perfectly cooked. Sides were ok. Banana fosters was more like a banana bread pudding (really good). The chocolate butter cake is super rich and dense (not like a traditional butter cake).

This has earned three stars for its location in Newport Beach.That said, compared to something like Bellagios Prime which earned five stars.The service was present but the fact we had to stretch our necks and/or wait to gain someones attention? Not worth the bill.Weak pours and I dont mind paying for delicious wines.Its quiet, plenty of staff that fills water but not where it counts.The food was fine. Needed steak sauce (that says something) and chose peppercorn. It was orange and flavorless?! Sides for sharing served three people, not five. We ordered three which sufficed. Grandson liked the ahi tuna and French onion soup was good.Even the lava cake was exceptionally underwhelming.I have zero reason to return.

Went for a Valentine dinner lastnight, although we didnt pick a prefix menu, we had a great dinner overall. I had a miso glazed Chilean sea bass, it was really good but wished the portion abit bigger than the 4oz size and came with Quinoa or wild rice or cannellini beans or similar besides wilted spinach. Also, the dish could be cleaned up little bit. The baked potato was humongous and super loaded. The cream spinach was very tasty. The chocolate lava cake was spot on with alot molten lava compared to the crust, and not super sweet.

Was visiting from out of town, and we did a work dinner here. The staff were fantastic and able to provide excellent service to our party of 14. Food was better than expected and well worth the visit. Make sure to try the crème brûlée!

Thankfully I work nearby so I come here often but for once I got to bring my wife. It was a quiet, beautiful evening at Newport on Thursday night. They are actually very busy indoors. For some reason no one wanted to sit outside so we essentially got a private dining experience in the patio!Our server was very attentive and professional, and our steak was amazing. I think my wife literally said shut up on the first bite! Yes, I agree that is weird reaction but hey who can blame her for being excited say random things? ;)Fresh oyster was delicious, dry aged ribeye is great and Diablo shrimp was really good. Definitely try those!

Probably by far the best Fleming’s location available. After all, this is the first location of Fleming’s that opened in 1998.Quality of the steaks is excellent as always, with the steaks being marbled and cooked perfectly. Service is always on point and the ambiance is perfect for a date night or a special occasion.Thanks for a great night.

Nice place. The Steak was cooked to perfection. What I really enjoyed was the lava cake. Takes some time to make, but definitely worth the wait. Everyone you encounter here is trying to provide you with outstanding service. The place is a little dark for me personally. Luckily we were sitting next to the window.

💯 This is our 2nd Friendsgiving at Flemings and it does not disappoint! We will be back again next year… thanks to Sous Chef Edgar Meza! You made our night memorable. We had an amazing experience. The food was delicious, the sea food tower 🤤 and the tomahawk were our favorites. Let’s not mentioned the dessert, that’s to die for(make sure you save room for that)! We ate in a private room in the back and the servers did very well given the size of our group and the selections from their shorter menu for the group. It is hard to cook for 60 people. But the rare steak was a bit mealy, meaning it was probably over-marinated to make up for medium-quality beef. The Asparagus and Mac and cheese were outstanding. The butter had garlic, smoked paprika and dill whipped in with it, so the bread and butter is really good.

Table service is very nice. Came here on my anniversary and the restaurant prepared Happy Anniversary card and chocolate for us. I definitely love the butter spread so much. Our server was very nice and polite. Steak were tender and tasty. The restaurant is very cozy and luxurious. Highly recommended to have a date or special occasion lunch/ dinner here.

This was our first time visiting a Flemings and we brought our Godson for dinner before he went off to college. I have to say it was good but not great, especially for the pricetag. The service was decent, not terrific, and I notated it was a special occasion but the server didnt acknowledge or ask anything.I was less than impressed with how often our server came around, but he was so preoccupied with surrounding tables he forgot the cocktail, and then took the bread before I even had a slice. The steaks were spot-on and the sides were hot. I like that you can order half sides, and so we had a variety of four items rather than two. The lava cake, which they require a 20 minute leadtime for, came out overdone, so when you broke into it there was no chocolatey lava spilling out of it, rather a solid mass. Still good, just below expectation. I thought Fashion Island would have a stronger running in the department of food, service and overall quality.Id say save your money and visit Michael Minas restaurant Bourbon Steak in Dana Point. Ive dined there on several occasions and never left disappointed.

The perfect steakhouse for a special occasion. Flemings raises the bar to levels you didn’t know existed. The only thing better than the exceptional food was the phenomenal service. They thought of every detail including chilling the salad bowls. The cocktails complimented the delicacy dishes and elegant ambiance. It was not the same dining experience as before.Visiting from Canada, We dine at this location each year.Dined on Tomahawk Tuesday with the same waiter as last year.Steak was undercooked, which they corrected the second time.Not a mention of Sorry but did try to sell the LAVA CAKE while we are waiting for our meal. Inflation is affecting everyone.Why cant I order a small steak with potato and vegetables for $50.00 ?35oz Tomahawk on Tuesday @ $150.00 is steep. What about a smaller size 28oz for $135.00??In conclusion, As a regular customer, I now feel Flemings has priced themselves out of the market. Inflation effecting us all, now it has priced me away from Flemings.

Thats a very neat place. Our waiter is very polite. The starter is Ahi Tuna. That is tuna chops and avocado blocks wrapped by a thin cucumber slice. That is yummy. We chose fillet mignon (medium rare) and Ribeye (medium). The steak is tender. The meal just satisfies everything that I expected to a steakhouse. Only one thing that bothered me a little is that the waiting time between starters and entrées was longer than our previous experience. But overall, we enjoy our dinner at Flemings Prime Steakhouse.

Very disappointed in my most recent visit to Fleming’s. I’ve been a loyal customer for over 20 years and it was always a favorite restaurant for me and my family. The service, ambiance and food were always high standards. However, this last year, it’s gone extremely downhill. It might have something to do with the new owners The food is beyond tasteless and it’s difficult to describe how bad the quality of the steak has become. Very poor quality produce and meat. Of course the prices continue to rise despite the poor quality that Fleming’s is now providing. After being a loyal customer for so long, I wish it wasn’t so but after my most recent visit, it will be hard to return in the future.

A great experience!Celebrating our anniversary, we had a 7 pm reservation for dinner. Indoor, outdoor and bar seating available.From our Pork belly starter, French onion soup and lobster bisque.. Our mains - lobster tails and New York strip down to the chocolate gooey butter cake, it was a wonderful dinner.Staff was very helpful and welcoming, waitress and waiters were quick with and needs and drinks from the bar were great!Great spot for dinner or lunch!

Came again during the Newport Beach restaurant week and tried the Brunch menu. The restaurant week menu comes with fresh berries or chopped salad for each entree. Its a good deal so lots of people and need to make reservation before trying out. We arrived at 11:30am when its not crowded. We ordered 3 items. The crispy chicken and waffles is delicious. I am not a fan of waffle but the waffle is crispy on the outside and soft in the inside and the batter is so good. The California burger is a must try item as always. The beef patty with the sauce and avocado is perfect. The Cinnimon apple brioche French toast is yummy and love the lemon cheese and whip cream on top that I dont need syrup anymore!

Everything was great until the steaks came. Both of us ordered medium and one was perfect and one was well done. You cant make that mistake at these prices in my opinion.I will say the bone-in filet was absolutely amazing as was everything else, except one the filet.I contacted them to let them know about our experience. The response was immediate, and very well received. They did a wonderful job of turning a negative into a positive.

I ordered food from here tonight via takeout- worst food ever!!!The food was disgusting .My burger was burnt - I tried to eat around the burnt areas but it was beyond gross.Potatoes were runny and gross (not cooked well)Mushrooms had zero flavor - very chewy and wateryMac n cheese was stale - did I get leftovers???Asparagus was way too salty.- drenched with saltThe fries were really all I could stand to eat, and even they were nothing special . Tuesday special! Worth it!Tomahawk steak was good as well as the sides and desserts. But, the service was amazing by all, greeter, server Megan and Chef Josh, who was able to come out at our request to compliment. Had a great chat and even took some dirty dishes back. Not the places fault, but a nearby group asked us if it was ok to light the flames on the side. We agreed out of courtesy, but the afternoon wasnt cold and it warmed us up a bit more than what we wished we had and didnt want to change tables out of respect as well.

Sergio was my Server and he is absolutely amazing!! He was so very kind and patient as I have food allergies and needed time to decide what to order. At the end of my lunch, I asked Sergio for a recommendation on a slightly sweet decaffeinated lavender coffee and since Flemings does not have lavender syrup, Sergio made me a decaffeinated latte with a drizzle of caramel sauce and it was so incredibly delicious, I ordered a second one!!Thank you for having Sergio on your Flemings team, I will come back and always ask for Sergio and his custom coffee!! :)

I had the most wonderful experience at Fleming’s last weekend. Fleming’s exceeded my expectations. I was greeted by friendly hosts and contagious smiles. I had the best seat in house at a comfortable booth in the cozy, warm patio. Brandon was our server and he was superb! The food was absolutely delicious and something that was created by a true master. I could not thank Chef Edgar enough, for allowing my date and my close friends and I to indulge in his fine dining creations. Every bite was a moment to remember and satiated our desires. Amazing restaurant! My husband and I visited this location when celebrating our anniversary. We both had a fillet mignon. It was so tender and flavorful! He ordered the Mac n cheese and I got a side of the Fleming potatoes. Both really good! For dessert, he ordered the lava cake and I got a sticky bun cake. Everything was amazing! We couldn’t even finish everything but it was all so so good.

Made reservations for our Wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. They demonstrated attention to detail and from the moment we walked in we felt that we were on a special date. I have never left a negative review before, this is a first.We have been a customer of Flemings for over 25 years and it has been our favorite steakhouse for over 25 years. We hadn’t been there for sometime due to illness. We went Saturday night to participate in their Orange County Restaurant Week. Their special was a 3 course dinner for $60. A salard, an entre and a desert.My wife ordered the 8 ounce filet mignon steak and it was no more than 4 ounces. The table next to us also ordered the fillet and they sent theres back, we should have.I paid extra for the the rib eye steak which was tough. My son also ordered the rib eye and could not eat it so he brought it home for his dog .Apparently they have change their grade of their meats from Prime steaks to Angus steaks and boy what a difference it makes.For the $60.00 special you received a soggy salad, a mini steak and a 1 inch sq. desert.The sides are now $17 each, that was $51 for the 3 we had.The service was excellent as usual with our favorite waiter Ken. Other than Ken’s excellent service the meal was a rip off.With tip our bill was over $200 not including drinksWe will not be returning to Flemings ever again.Please Flemings dont respond to contact you for more information regarding our experience, It is what it was, a rip off.

NOT RECOMMENDED - AVOID!We came to Flemings in Fashion Island for celebrating a friend.The menu hadnt any pictures showing any meal. As expensive as this restaurant is, at least the menu should be modern and digitized with pictures of signature meals - on smart tablets on the tabel.As a restaurant reviewer I took up my camera to take some pictures from the restaurant. After the 5-6 picture were taken, a female staff came forward and told me we are not allowing taking picture. . ., you are not allowed to take picure.Not allowing customers to take pictures is typical for restaurants that try hide something as they dont want the customer to take pictures. This behavior is also typical for restaurants that still have Stone Edge-mentality and are totaly unfamilar to the potential of social media! Flemings staff need to be educated that a camera is as someones eyes. Turning off that camera/eyes is as same as telling the customer dont look at our restaurant, dont look around, dont come here.The first thing that was served was hot fresh baked bread with butter. We ordered several differet meals such as Filet Mignon ($54) and salmon ($45). See pictures.We also ordered asparagus, fries and mushroom as side dishes.The amount of salt and sugar/sweetness in salmon was EXTREMELY HIGH as well as presence of frutose and glucose/sweetness in salmon - VERY HIGH! The salmon was also overcooked!You guys att Flemings have no idea how salmon should be seasoned nor cooked! Send your chef to Scandinavia (spec. Norway or Sweden) so he can learn how salmon should be made.My filet mignon was ordered medium well but came red in the middle and with very low temperature (cold) in the middle (not cooked properly). Very disappointed!The amount of salt in asparagus, fries and mushroom, mashed potatoes, and even in sauces were EXTREMELY HIGH!We also ordered French parmesan cheeses soup. VERY DISGUSTING! It was very salty and very oily (See picture).To Flemings chef and restaurant manager: Salt-rich diet can raise blood pressure, which can raise our risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other woes!The chef and and owner of this restaurant must be so unfamiliar with how seafood should be prepared and completely irresponsible as they put thire customer in health dangerous by serving them so much salt!! Everything we ordered was full of salt!!Part of the food we ordered were also over cooked.Overcooking makes food harder to digest and metabolize, and secondly, charred and burnt foods contain carcinogenic substances.Cooking carbohydrate rich starchy foods at high temperatures results in the formation of a chemical called acrylamide!The waiting time from order to be served was ok.The restroom:The restroom was very clean and smell good.We spend over$1000 for our SALT-meals at this place!!! We’ve visited many Fleming’s locations, I can honestly say this is by far the absolute best! It’s always a superb experience dining here. The staff always make us feel welcomed, they are on point and always honor our reservation time. The ambience is great, not too quiet not too loud. Most importantly, the food is amazing! Steaks always cooked to perfection by chef EDGAR and his amazing staff. He’s even stopped by our table on a few occasions to make sure everything is excellent.

I enjoyed a beautiful birthday dinner here and the food was phenomenal. When the restaurant called me to confirm my reservation I was advised of the remodel of the restaurant and I was ok with that as well as impressed they would let me know ahead of time in case I wasn’t ok with it. They were honest up front and didn’t wait for me to get there and find out like some places would. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium rare and the lobster tails were tasty. They bring out little tea lights to keep the butter warm which is a nice touch I haven’t seen at many restaurants. Service was attentive and the waitress was very down to earth and personable.

We ordered the Lobster Mac n Cheese ($25) and the Children’s Filet Mignon ($25)We love lobster Mac n cheese and have tried it from quite a few different places. This may be one of the worst.It came in a small plastic side container. There was hardly any lobster meat & what we found was chewy, to the point of being inedible. It just wasn’t cooked properly at all. The mac itself uses a Buffalo cheese which isn’t what was as off putting as the store bought pasta itself. No bread crumbs or appealing topping. Just raw green onions.The filet was worse. It was so dry, not seared or cooked properly, and terribly chewy as well. It wasn’t eaten. The fries on the side were previously frozen store bought as well.My babe said he would prefer the Cheesecake Factory to the cheesecake piece he got with a caramel sauce that wasn’t made in house either.We weren’t expecting to eat fast food from a higher end restaurant tonight. It may have tasted better if we did have fast food instead though.

Been to Flemings now two or three times for pharmaceutical dinner and the staff is so amazing how they truly wait on your every need. The food is delicious, I had salmon and potatoes au gratin and asparagus all that was cooked to the right temperature and with the right sauces. I really enjoy going to Flemings. Its in the heart of Fashion Island right near Whole Foods and its actually quite easy to get to considering the location. I highly recommend Flemings for either business, casual or celebratory dining!!

My first time here and was so impressed with the staff and food! The food was so delish, I couldn’t stop eating. My husband was surprised that I actually ate that much. We ordered seafood tower, Diablo shrimp and shared Prime Tomahawk. The fact the chef Edgar Meza came by to say hi and make sure we were happy with everything, felt very personal. We felt welcomed, I appreciate when chefs come by to say hi. These small gestures make you want to come back. Been here a few times.First and foremost, the staff is spectacular. They are attentive, kind, wonderful people.I hate to complain, but there’s a handful of times I have told the staff about issues with my food and there were no accommodations. Like a plastic lid in my food, or a dish being much too salted, to the point that my mouth hurts and it is inedible. They did nothing about it.The food overall, I don’t know. I feel like over the years since the pandemic, the quality has fallen tremendously. There’s quite a few steakhouses out there, so if I am going to spend the extra dollar, why come here when I can go elsewhere for a better steak and sides for a more reasonable price?Overall. I’ve been here many times over the years, but recently I came to the conclusion that I’ll never dine here again. I truly have been fond of this establishment. Consistency is key. Quality is necessary. I do not receive that anymore. I hope the best for your future customers.Also, whoever responds to the reviews, don’t tell me to email guest services with my complaint. Y’all don’t care. Just because you reply to a review online doesn’t improve your service or food. I was wondering what happened to my favorite steakhouse. Flemings has been my choice since it opened in Newport Beach. The last couple times I went there the quality of the steaks were terrible. The grade of beef was somewhere close to select, certainly not choice, definitely not prime.Now I understand. It was bought by a corporation and is going the same way that Mortons and Ruths Chris went, downhill.No surprise that the same corporation owns Outback.The reviews you see are the old Flemings. Dont expect anything near that quality if you go now.

Last weekend I went to dinner with my wife and kids, we didn’t have a reservation and they were able to give us a table right away. Service was great, Isacc did a great job, he was really knowledgeable, funny, fast and his bussers and food runners were great too. Chef Edgard even came out at one point and he talked to us for a little even though the kitchen seemed very busy, he brought out some goddies for our kids and my wife. We celebrated our 11th anniversary at the Fashion Island Flemings location. Really delicious. The service on the other hand was lacking. No one checked on us. We asked for more bread,but the waiter never brought it. Was a struggle to get anyones attention, even to pay the bill. Would definitely come back for the food, it just diminished their tip that night, by the service. They were unable to make a Sazerac which was surprising and this cost them a star in my review, as it seems a high-end restaurant thats serving $24 glasses of wine should be able to make the oldest cocktail in the US; especially when the manager told the service staff that it is one of his friends favorite drinks as well. We were celebrating my Birthday here, the waitress Lisa B. was absent minded, rude and in rush. The tea that I was served, wasnt what I ordered, in the hot water there was an object floating in the cup, our steaks were well-done and burned (provided we ordered Medium), and I had something rubbery in my soup. At the end of the meal, we were given the check, and one of the guests had to go and ask what happened to the complementary birthday truffles. Then Lisa B. brought it to our table with an attitude, and rather than putting it in front of me (the one celebrating the birthday), she literally just dropped it in front of one of the other guests and left. Sadly a lot has gone downhill since my first visit 7 years ago. Went for a family members birthday. Reminded them twice about the birthday, but they forgot to bring the birthday dessert, so had to embarrassingly go ask the manager while the birthday honoree sat at the table. Our steaks were ordered medium, and came out well done?? This is their forte mind you. The manager took one off the bill, but would have rather eaten a steak I enjoyed. Our service (a Lisa B) was lousy, the birthday honoree didnt have fun at all... Just truly a shame how this place has gone downhill.

Phenomenal food in a good location near the ocean. Service is good an never a wait with a reservation. Eaten there many times and they recently (summer 2018) redecorated and changed the feel with new wall art. The new feel is less formal than the old decorations. The food is always amazing at Fleming’s and the service is top notch. The bar has a happy hour during the week so you can save some money if you head in after work and hang out at the bar.

My party of seven had Thanksgiving lunch and six ordered the turkey special, which all said that the turkey was very good. I prefer steak to turkey and I had the filet mignon. Ordered the steak medium and was served almost well done. So disappointed as the steak was dry, bland and hard to chew. Should have sent it back but did not, my bad. My filet was served with a very small amount of dressing and about a tablespoon of gravy. All agreed the mashed potatoes family style were dry and the string green beans nothing special. The desserts were very good. The service as usual was exceptional and our server was top notch. Too bad the food is so overpriced for what is served. This was our familys third visit to this location and sadly will be our last.

The server was great but the host at the front was short with us because we didnt have a reservation even though the restaurant never files the entire 2 hours we were there, speaking of the 2 hours 2 tables on the patio sat didnt get reset the entire time in tact one sat with a cocktail tray on the seat, from the time we sat until after we left. Fleming’s Steak House in New Port is pretty good for steak. I had the petite filet mignon and it was great. The service is not 5 stars but the food is.The wine glasses on the table were dirty and we asked the waitress to change them and he inspected them one by one to see if they needed to be replaced. We didn’t like attitude of the waitress, he showed have just bring clean wine glasses instead.

What an absolutely amazing dinner. We were seated quite promptly after our check in and from there things just got better. The service here is amazing. The steak was also great. Both of us got the petit filet one topped with prawns and the other topped with a lobster tail. Steaks were cooked as requested and we could not be happier. Our waiteress was great, nonetheless, the foods were utterly subpar. The french onion soups were actually so salty that we had to ask for a glass of hot water to dilute it. The tomahawk steak was of decent size as advertised - 35 oz, but it literally came out rare despite we ordered medium rare. We could only ate the sides as they were more cooked. The dish itself was full of blood. The waitress saw and had the remaining pieces, which were 80% of the whole steak cooked again. This turned out another mistake. The steak now became medium to well done. Okay, onto the desert which we so looked forward to. The lava cake unfortunately had a glob of salt in it! The cake was salty itself!At least we got to take the overly done steak to go as there were no more blood.Sorry, this really was a bad experience with the standard of the food quality.

I feel that at a 5 star restaurant they should be serving only 5 star burgers. My friend ordered the dessert, so I didnt get the name, but it seemed like a chocolate lava cake. Wedding Reception Review - We selected Flemings to host our wedding reception for 43 people, 10 of which were children. From the start they were extremely responsive and informational. Christy Kritzinger, the Private Dining Director, was fantastic to work with and was beyond accommodating. She laid down the groundwork for a truly exceptional and memorable experience.We held our even in the downstairs wine cellar. Having the bar and restrooms right there made everything that much easier. It was also secluded from the rest of the restaurant, which gave us great privacy and enabled us to be as boisterous as we wanted to be.The food was amazing, far more than we had expected. Usually quantity and quality do not coexist, but they sure do here! We went with the Executive Estate meal and once the seafood towers came out, everyone knew they were in for a special treat.The staff was amazing! They quickly and efficiently took and delivered orders. Drinks were replaced frequently. They even worked around darting children with exceptional grace. Food was phenomenal wait times for them were very impressive, but most staff is very cold, and will treat you like youre not wanted there if youre not dressed to their standards or their usual clientele. I went with my brother (both almost 30) wearing regular jeans and a t-shirt and got greeted with them asking if we had a reservation, said, nope just came for dinner, then were promptly told we wouldnt be able to be seated until atleast 830 (it was about 4pm) she apologized and when I asked if there was any other seating say maybe the bar or something like that, she says oh yeah, you can sit there. This location is great. My wife and I ran through a list of the areas great steakhouses one year and original Flemings was at the bottom of my to try list, mainly because all my memories of the place were of business lunches with smaller portions. When we finally tried this location they moved toward the top of my list. Unlike some other steakhouses, their steak is seasoned and the taste is incredible (if you prefer your steak with less seasoning, Id recommend Maestros). The service is impeccable. This location is hustling, so you may not get quite the same relaxed/romantic vibe, but it has unique energy all its own. The lobster mash potatoes here are our favorite.

Came here for a fathers day tomahawk and they ran out. They stuck us in a freezing cold overflow were we saw our waiter but it wasnt often. No mood lights, restaurant ambiance, and no steak. I would have loved to be in the actual restaurant. However its only saving grace was the food we did get. For a $250 meal I should have left on a cloud, instead it was an overly priced steak (not a tomahawk) I could have cooked at home. We dont get to eat like this often. My boyfriend and I decided to check this place out for our date night. We needed a change of scenery and always enjoy hanging out in the OC.We gave the place a call and they were able to make a reservation for us at 9. We went for Tomahawk Tuesday and It lives up to the hype. My wife had a wedge salad, creamed spinach, I had a Caesar salad, baked potato, and split a bowl of lobster bisque and of course the tomahawk. It was delish... one of those steaks that brings a smile to your face after the first bite. So good! I didnt give it five stars simply because we were seated very close to the kitchen, it was loud and Smokey. This is a pretty pricey place and I would have liked to have been seated at a better location. I will definitely come back but special occasions only for me.

We were seated at a booth in a quiet corner of the restaurant as we requested so that was appreciated. Our waiter was very helpful with suggestions on what to order. From the Chilean Sea Bass to the NY Strip to the Salmon and petite filet, I can say for our group the food was prepared to our exact specifications and the flavors were beyond what our taste buds, had anticipated. In addition, the side dishes of Brussel sprouts and Fleming’s potatoes, only enhanced the experience of our main entry. We topped off this incredible main course with Chocolate Lave Cake and Cheesecake, leaving our taste buds in pure submission.
