If your tired of dealing with dishonest dealerships and unbelievable wait times to get your car properly diagnosed and repaired then GO TO FISK AUTOMOTIVE in Fullerton. They are more professional and thorough than any dealer or automotive repair shop I have ever experienced. They are personable and will answer all your questions and treat you right no matter how many times you call them.

When Fisk Automotive told me I needed a new engine in my 2010 Prius I was a little nervous about it. They provided me with a very detailed report that told me things I needed immediately done on my car and also things they suggested. Once I gave them the okay to go ahead with the engine (expecting to be without a car for at least a week) they were done in 3 days. They did a fantastic job on my car and this is where I will go everytime I need work on my car. Chris checked in with me giving me updates and was always so nice. I recommend this place for everyone to go here if u want excellent work done and fast. Thanks Fisk Automotive you guys are awesome

Hi!!I’m new to the area. They were very pleasant to talk to (Stacy & Jose). People don’t seem to know how to talk to others these days. They both had great customer service personalities.That’s a plus. They took wonderful care of Kia. They didn’t even move my seat!! That’s a plus but not a must, lol. She (Stacy) explained everything very well. Even gave me a print out of everything that needed to be done. Including maintenance items. Fisk was very thorough. I liked that. There was no pressure at all to have everything done at 1 time. Now I have air conditioning and it’s cold. I will be a returning customer. My only wish is that there was a complimentary car wash 😃

My first impression was how clean the shop was. Id never seen an auto service so immaculate. Secondly, I was pleased with the friendliness of the agents that assisted me. Thirdly, I was impressed by the up to date technology used to explain the condition of my car. I was given a clear explanation of the diagnosis of my car, and a prioritized list of needed repairs. My car was repaired in the projected time & I was able to pick it up after closing hours due to their lockbox system. I would like to give special recognition to Stacy (agent) for her service with a smile. I highly recommend this auto service for anyone who is looking for a repair service they can trust.

This service shop conducts business in a very professional way. They service American, Asian, and European cars. I like their detailed diagnostic online reports of my BMW X5 and Z71 Chevy Suburban showing pics of the defects and explanation of the error codes. The diagnostic fee is very reasonable indeed. The manager Chris, is trustworthy and takes pride and ownership of the quality of their service.

The customer service is top notch at Fisk Automotive! Went in for a routine oil change and was treated to a full check up! They verified 32 items on their check list and even assisted me with my flat tire (nail) that happened the day before my scheduled appointment. They are full service so I was impressed and appreciated the assistance! When my car was ready, it was returned better than when I left it! I’m accustomed to going to dealerships to maintain my Subaru but now Fisk can take good care of it! And there were no surprises with costs like at other places. The service advisor was communicative via text and phone call and they have made me a loyal customer!

What can I say, I’m amazed by the level of professionalism and the accuracy of this place. Five + stars I would give more if I could. They made a big change in mine and my husbands lives. Since late November 2021 my husband Infiniti Q50 has been down. It would drive 40 or below and would stall out if it was driven any faster. It would lose all power and drive horrible. Many things were replaced and it was taken to the Infiniti dealer, where they suggested to replace EMC and engine harnesses estimating around $15,000. It was unbelievable for a car we only had a while. All these issues were stressful. Infiniti replaced the EMC and the car still ran horrible. I suggested to take it here and it was taken in right away no wait time. Found out there was nothing wrong with the original EMC and the replace one was making the car have more issues . Fisk put back on the original EMC and then recommend what the issue might have been. They braced use for the worse situation of $2,500+ repair and recommended a fullDiagnosis first. After being dropped off on Thursday 5/5 it was ready to be picked up 5/11. The best call we have had in a long time. It was READY and RUNNING. With less than half the price we were originally estimated from Fisk. After 6 MONTHS IT WAS FINALLY DRIVABLE ! It was passed around from mechanic to mechanic no one could figure it out. Fisk was the best ones we found. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place . I’m forever thankful for them making it possible to get this car back out on the streets. My Chrysler 300c will be coming here next when it has issues. Trustworthy people !

Fisk just happens to be what you might say gave my wife and I the experience you feel you should expect to receive from all businesses but almost never happens. The Fisk staff was first class. 10/10 recommend!! Awesome service. Very friendly and professional. I took my car in for an AC problem. They spent the time properly diagnosing, kept me informed of all the details every step of the way, and were honest. I dont know about you but I have a hard time trusting mechanics. I had 2-3 others look at my AC and they all unconfidently gave me a false diagnosis. Fisk Automotive took the time to listen and successfully make the repairs. Thank you!

Don’t make the same mistake as me- don’t bring your car here! They withhold information, make up stories to cover their tracks and Lie! Day 1- called and spoke with Joe and first question I asked was do they work with insurance companies. He asked what insurance company and after I told him, he said Yes! I informed him that i wanted to bring the car in, have them inspect and once the quote is approved, bring the car back in to start the work. Day 2- Brought the car in, they tell me I have to leave the car. Ok called an Uber and went about my day. Called later that day and the guy tells me the check engine light was on because of the catalytic converter (I brought the car in for the ABS system) when i asked him about the ABS, he says it’s fine nothing is wrong with it! I head over to pick it up and they say we have to pay the 149, husband explains to him that the insurance is going to pay it and once it’s approved we are bringing the car back. We take the car and the next day chris calls to explain that we have to leave the car in case the insurance needs pictures and there was a file mix up because there was another car like ours in there for the catalytic converter. We brought the car back and i started calling the insurance daily to push the approval process (quote was sent in 2 days later) after 2 weeks the quote was approved on a Friday and they finished the car that Tuesday. Stacy called to let me know the car was done and ready for pick up and a couple of minutes later, Chris calls to say they can’t release the car until they either receive payment from us or the check from the insurance is in hand. He had multiple chances to tell me this before they finished the car. He assumed i knew this but never once have we had our car held until payment was received when going through the insurance! He said “This is industry standard” when in reality this is his company policy that was never disclosed. So now we have to wait for the check in order to get our car! Top it off he tried gaslighting me about the whole situation and lied saying he called the insurance company and they confirmed a check was never issued he couldn’t give me the number he called or who he spoke to at State Farm! Called my agent to confirm that statement and he said when the agent called this morning, he spoke to Stacy and gave her the check number and all the information and there was no note a Chris ever called in and spoke to anyone from State Farm!

Went in for AC check on my wifes car paid 103 to see what was wrong with it.if I approved the service the 103 is waived got my estimate of over 2700.00 for the job 1600 in labor cost I declined service they gave me a print out of all my problems that mt AC so called had as in new compressor and hoses and other stuff went to another shop showed them that print out of problems they gave it a look for FREE and stated 1 hose was ripped and that should fix your problem got it done for 650.00 be aware of this shop that wants to change parts that are still working

My jeep had a catastrophic engine failure which required replacement. Not only did they replaced it in a timely manner (fast) but their professionalism, honesty and courtesy far exceeded other shops that I have been in in the past. The staff were great and the shop is class A on its own. If they have a massage parlor in there I’d probably find things in my cars that need fixing. Jokes aside., you’ve got to see and try the best shop in town. Did I mention the crew are great?!!!

We brought one of our vehicles in for service to the A/C only. We got a report for everything on the vehicle from tires to shocks to engine mounts to tires etc. We did not want any of that and we know this service costs money and time.When we finally received the estimate we were advised that 2 hoses are leaking for the AC and they must be replaced in the amount of about 700.00, the initial 149.00 that we paid for the inspection plus the service to the AC.We approved the repairs based on the inspection report and based relied on their expertise as a service provided for AC repairs and all this was after a detail inspection of the AC system.I received a call a few days latter from Joe advised that there will be an added cost of about 300 because the noticed another line was leaking. I asked him if the repairs were not done please stop and I wanted to pick up the vehicle, Joe stated that was not an option and that 2 hoses were replaced and the system will not operate without the 3rd. They obviously inspected the vehicle and provided as a repair bill for what they believe was needed.Never the less I advised Joe that we were not happy but gave him the authorization to proceed with the repairs.Joe called me a few days later advising the vehicle was ready, I was traveling out of state and advised that we will have our guys pick up the truck and pay. He immediately stated it had to be in CASH. He advised that the credit card system was down that day and the only way to get our truck is to pay cash. I told him we can pay with a company check but he insisted on CASH only, no credit card and not check.I was upset and asked how I can do this from out of state he stated that these are my only options if I wanted the vehicle. I had my guys pay him CASH from there own funds until I arrived back. I was very upset and told him that I was going to give them a bad review, he said that all the calls are being recorded and stated that I was black mailing him. lolWhen my guys went to pay the CASH the girl working there said that the credit card machine had not been working for over a week. If this was the case we should have been advised from day one.Joe was very rude and had a very bad attitude and should not be communicating with customers. We will never use this company or refer anyone to this company ever again.

I originally chose the team at Fisk based on previous reviews. My first encounter was with our Prius that needed an engine replaced due to a faulty head gasket from Toyota. Their pricing was incredibly fair and the job was done impeccably well. They even did a full engine bay detail, which was a nice surprise. Since that experience was so good, I asked if they would be willing to change out the hybrid battery on my Lexus. This was no small job as it requires removing the rear seats to access. They performed flawlessly and made sure everything was put back better than they found it. This is their way of doing business. I just had more maintenance done on the Lexus which required some extensive troubleshooting. They figured out some issues with the air suspension that another shop couldn’t and took care of several other planned and unplanned maintenance items.Chris and team always go the extra mile to make your car service experience a satisfying one. 100% recommend this team.

They explained to me The process of checking my brakes and what they needed to repair and why. They communicated exactly how long it would take for them to get back to me and get the work done. Fisk Automotive was a wonderful experience. I had them do a 30,000 mile service on my Subaru Outback. The Dealer quoted $550.00. Fisk did the service with documentation to fulfill the warranty requirement for $367.00. I received text message updates every step of the way as they completed the service. The staff was knowledgeable and extremely friendly. The facilities are spotless, with windows looking into the work bays which were also spotless. My cars will be there again.

Fisk is my go-to auto shop and has been for the past few years. I come from a family of mechanics and grew up doing my own car repair. These guys are legit, professional, and use good quality parts. Their facilities are clean and well kept, including the waiting lounge.They are really good about notifying what work needs to be done before starting it and always ask for approval before they begin the job. Theyre also good about informing the customer approximately how long the job will take.

I approved a Fisk design for a catalytic converter anti-theft system. They had it done within a day. Their system uses welded cables all the way from the exhaust manifold to the muffler side of the catalytic converter. Looks clean. I will make another post if a thief is able to cut the welded cables and take my cats.

I just posted this on Yelp:If youre looking for great mechanics, you can stop your search. Youve found them.I first met Chris, the new owner of Fisk, in March of 2018 when my Lexus dealer told me that for about $9,000, a leak required me to replace the transaxle of my RX400h hybrid. I took the car over to Electron, Chriss other shop, where he basically told me nonsense. Nine hundred dollars later, I had a resealed transaxle and no leak. Now, 4+ years later, both the seal and the transaxle are fine.Chris, his manager Joe, and their team are great mechanics. They are honest, knowledgeable, skilled, thorough, and really nice people. If something needs to be fixed, they will tell you. If something can wait, or doesnt require repair, they will tell you that as well. Not only do they know standard gas powered cars, but also they are experts on batteries, hybrids, and electric vehicles. They empower us to keep our cars for many years, knowing that they will be well and honestly serviced.Its a shame that the current overall Yelp rating for Fisk is unfairly low. I hope everyone realizes that this reflects the ratings of the former owners - not the excellence of Chris and his group.

Very lousy is the best way i can explain my experience they tried to over charge me they broke my transmission return line when installing a new fly wheel and then tried to charge me $1481 for the new line ( by the way the part was only $123.56 from mercedes dealership) i installed in less than 2 hours ) they try to.be friendly to your face as there reaching in to your wallet and ripping you off i would never ever recommend them not even to my worst enemy. My 91 Jeep Cherokee died on the freeway. AAA recommended this shop and I had read about them. I normally do my own work, but I was stressed and wanted a professional to take a look at it. AAA took my Jeep to their shop. On the way I called, as they were about to call me. I was informed my vehicle is outside, in age, of what they work on due to parts availability, but they said they were willing to take a look and point me in the right direction. The system they use to track and quote is very modern and works really well. Based on the conversations we had during the work, they did everything they could and kew what they were doing. I was thrilled when I got the call that they found AND resolved the issue. Their service and professionalism throughout the experience was beyond what I expected and is greatly appreciated. The rear drivers side window slipped down into the door and would not come up. Fisk identified the issue and called with a recommendation and estimate. I was very impressed with the Fisk Automotive’s professionalism. They were friendly and thorough with their inspections, and with how they communicated. I received a link that showed me a detailed explanation of what was wrong with my car, with pictures. In my case, my car was too far gone to be repaired and they told me so rather than encourage me to make some unnecessary repairs just to make money. The staff was very friendly, I was able to get my car in the same day I called. However, a complete diagnostics is required and its pricy. The diagnostic fee isnt applied to the repair.I already knew what one thing I wanted repaired or looked at and it was not going to happen without the fee for the time and experience of their mechanic to run a complete diagnostics check.I may go back in the future if needed.

I have always found them to be honest, courteous, very professional and customer orientated.The technicians are well trained and experienced. They only use quality parts and materials. Just didnt expect an attitude and to play stare with the front office worker for asking about the status of the job being done to my vehicle. Only for my vehicle to come out later then the time frame initially quoted.Also, my vehicle was done and came out to the front and I find out the service light was not reset. When asked, the same guy who wanted to play stare with me told me that he is going to have to take the car back to reset the lighting but sadly, he did not know how to release the brakes on my vehicle....up to that point, I understand. I mean sure, you could work for a automotive shop and not know how to drive stick shift or function brake releases on certain type of vehicles (lol) but when he starts to get upset and demand the customer to let him know how to release it is just damn too unprofessional.After letting him know that I dont feel comfortable to have someone not know how to function the vehicle and drive it, they had a technician from the back take the vehicle and bring it back after they reset the service light which took an additional 20 minutes.All in all, this place is just bad business. Had a chance to read over some reviews of this place and it looks like they are taking advantage of customers in the nice neighborhood of Fullerton. Just because the owner responses to the negative comments in a rhetorical manner, it doesnt make Fisk Automotive look any better.My 2 cents is for you guys to spend less time with the comments and focus more on the much needed customer service training if you guys want to stay in business around here.

Lack of communication that made the process of getting my car fixed more difficult than it had to be. They said my car was going to be fixed, but when we went to the shop we had to leave the car overnight, went 1 day later and said it had to be left overnight again when they said that the car was finished. Did not receive a discount from the time and gas wasted.

I had the misfortune of one of my 2 catalytic converters stolen from my 2019 Tundra. My insurance covered the cost of repairs with a Toyota Dealership. I asked the dealership if they they could secure my catalytic converters to prevent this kind of theft. They said no. They only provided that service for Toyota Prius and another model, but not my Tundra. No one in my area performed this kind of service, but I found you guys on line. Your staff were friendly and helpful. They waited patiently for me as I had to fight rush hour traffic to get to the shop due to my work hours. Harley Wolf was excellent. Took care of me promptly and had the job completed the next day on time as promised. The gentleman working with her was courteous as well. I have taken my vehicle here in the past for services needed and they did a great job. The reason for this review is a few months ago I took my vehicle in to get an estimate for repairs. I was in a minor accident and the prior repair shop did a horrible job on the repairs and missed a bunch of other stuff. I needed my steering rack re-centered, and the lower camber bolt swapped because it was on backwards and an alignment. For the services they were going to charge me the full amount of a replacement when the parts did not need to be replaced. The steering rack was new but the shop prior re-centered it wrong, Fisk explained that they would have to fully remove the rack to re-center it and thats why they wanted to charge over $600 dollars. The camber bolt just needed to be flipped in position and they were wanting to charge up to $150 just to take the bolt out, flip it and put it back in. In all it was going to cost me almost $1,000 for repairs. I decided to take it to another professional shop that specializes specifically in alignments and they only charged me $350 for all of the services needed.

The only issue we had was we did an on line appointment and never did receive a confirmation that the appointment was valid. We had to end up calling the morning of the appointment date to find out if we should come in or not. A waning light came on the car and it was determined that the manifold intake had to be removed and replaced. We have been bringing our last 4 cars here since 2011. We lived in both Riverside and Moreno Valley, since then and as long as the car was still drivable and or just for maintenance, we always brought it back to FISK. They are honest and always try their best to help you out in a pinch. We had just bought a new to us car last July and they did a front to back inspection. They gave us a list of just normal wear and tear items that our new care needed. Needless to say it was too much all at once, so they where honest in what the order of importance was to make sure we werent driving unsafely, and allowed us to slowly work on things over time! I always know that if they fix something its fixed. On the rare chance that it isnt they also have a warranty on their parts so you can bring it back and know that they will take care of you. I appreciate that Fisk was initially able to match the Honda shop price for parts and labor. The job was done well, although it took four days to complete (had a lock mechanism in my Honda fit door replaced).At many places if the job is authorized, the initial inspection fee is applied to labor cost. Because Fisk was not able to apply the initial inspection fee to the cost of the job, it wound up costing about $100 more than Hondas price. I couldnt recommend Fisk to others for the future repairs unless they either apply the inspection fee to the labor of the job, or verbally disclose this before having people sign.

I took my car to a dealer who, after four days told me I had a blown head gasket and block failure and likely needed a new engine for $4700.00.We drove the car to Fisk Automotive for a second opinion. Within four hours they diagnosed the problem. Both electric radiator fans were inoperative causing the engine to overheat and expel most of the antifreeze. They replaced the fans, thermostat and added new antifreeze. They checked the engine and found no issues with the block or head gaskets.Drove home after the repair and couldn’t be more pleased and relieved. They earned our future business for sure. Watch out – I did NOT have a good experience with this shop. Took my car here here for an oil change/inspection because of the high number of favorable reviews on Google. They said I needed a new air filter, but I went home and checked myself to find my air filter was not even close to old. Then they tried to sell me on an engine cleaning product that they said would cost around $300 per cleaning, and they said I would need at least two, maybe three cleanings – the guy at my neighborhood autoparts store told me they sell something comparable for $15, so easy anyone can DIY. The kicker, however, is that my check engine light was on and they said it would run around $170 to plug in a scanner. Notice how they couldnt even give me an exact figure? Took my car to another garage down the street and they ran the scan for FREE. Worst part about my visit was that while I was waiting for my car I overheard an elderly lady get a FULL list of repair suggestions. Based on my experience, who knows what they were trying to pull on her. Anyway, safe to say I will not be returning here.

Theres no telling if the positive reviews are authentic or not but this experience with Fisk is the real deal. Brought in a 98 Jeep Wrangler that was a no start. Tried to diagnose the problem ourselves but to no avail. Had AAA tow it to Fisk because they were within the free 7 mile radius. Big mistake. Their diagnostic charge is $180! But we saved $20 with the AAA discount as if thats a great deal. We assumed that fee would apply to the repair costs (should have asked first) but that was not the case. This was on a Friday. Finally got a call back late that day telling us further diagnosis was required for another $360 as they couldnt pinpoint the problem. We said no to that after the original diagnostic fee sticker shock. They were closed on Sat. and Sun. which was a huge inconvenience. They then told us they believed it was the PCM (computer) that needed to be replaced. The part, according to them was $745! Plus labor and reprogramming the PCM for a grand total of $1,060! I asked the girl if she was kidding then told her to keep it there over the weekend since it was late on Friday and wed pick it up on Monday. After some research, we found a pre-programmed PCM online for $279 and all it required was 3 bolts and 3 plugs. Another post mentioned they were offered a free days car rental but no such offer for us. We spoke to a great guy in the shop across the street whom we wish we could have found before Fisk and he told us his diagnostic charge was $75. Buyer beware. Fisk may have good mechanics but youll pay triple the cost. It doesnt matter how long theyve been in business. This was our first and last visit. Never again Fisk.
