Great sea food verity and very professional service. The fish are fresh, and theres a great selection you wont find in your supermarket, even not in Wholefoods or Gelsons. Prices are great, and they cut the fish very nice, and although there are a lot of people there, the line moves pretty quickly.

They have a nice selection of fresh seafood as well as some pantry goods, ranging from sauces to tinned fish to rice paper.I ordered a salmon burrito and poke bowl. I would describe the burrito as more of a wrap than a burrito. It tastes exactly as it looks, which is good. The poke was super fresh and tasty. Rice was fresh and warm too.Parking can be iffy, especially if busy. Theres a few spots behind the building and a limited amount in the lot on the side.

This place offers quite a variety of seafood, but fish and chips and clam chowder is what I came for. Thr crunchy fish was good. Clean-tasting, flaky, firm white fish came 2 pieces to the order with lemon. A good amount of fries, cocktail and tarter sauce (if a bit small in quantity) also came with. The chowder was best enhanced with some hot sauce, but I wished I had some black pepper too, as it needed some. Decent amount if tender clams in the soup, but it was just okay. Crab cakes we ordered were pretty good as well. The grilled beramundi was overcooked not particularly good tasting. Nice amount if fresh fish available in the market and the sushi looked pretty good.

My favorite place on the East side of town to go to for quality seafood and cooked seafood. They have a top teir selection of uni, tuna, oysters, etc. And their cooked food is wonderful for a quick bite. The service is always friendly. I just got notification about Fish King from Yelp and I decided to try today for lunch with my friend. Excellenttttt, my first time to be there for takeout, but I love it so much. The guy ( cashier) helped me to order, friendly and fast . I ordered crunch fish, crunch shrimp, New England clam and lobster bisque. Super yummy, taste like homemade, I recommend everyone to try their menu and Definitely go back soon!

Despite leaving down the street for the last few years I finally made it around to trying out fish king. I did the halibut sandwich and also tried the crispy fish and chips and both were delicious. For a made to order establishment the food came out quickly and was full of flavor. I’ve yet to try some of their other seafood to go like the poke but everything looked very tasty. The busy parking lot and inside was a testament to how popular this place is and I will surely be back.

I had the spicy tuna and ahi poke for lunch, it was good, but not like what some reviewers claim that it’s like poke in Hawaii. It’s close, but not. Great service, and variety of menu items. Parking can be tricky- street or there’s parking on the right side, just slightly pass the building.

Great place for fish and shellfish. Fresh, fast and friendly service, and you can dine in. This time I had fish tacos (plate) and shrimp tacos. Fish tacos didnt contain much fish, it was more cabbage, but the shrimp tacos was delicious. Over all a great place. the poke bowls are very good, and comes in a good size.A couple of minus for all plastic they use when you dine in. And also that I think they use tap water for the ice machine- the soda have strong flavors of chlorine.

Family owned and long-history seafood shop. So many choices for fresh seafood shopping include salmon, tuna, shrimp, oysters, hamachi, scallops... Also for beef and chicken teriyaki. On my first day working their at Fish King was on November 15, 2023. At my first day working their, I didnt like working there. But in one mouth, I started like working there. I did the Cocktail, tartar, teriyaki, tempura sauces, Fish Stock, Ginger, and the Coleslaw. The co-workers there very kind, polite, and friendly there. Our had breaks for 30 minutes. We also had Lunch while were on our 30 min break. Me and my friend used to work for 3 hours (10:00 to 1:00). Now me and my friend work for 2 hours now (10:00 to 12:00). Quality & Fresh! I eat more seafood now because i finally found reliable and quality food. They go above and beyond. You can make requests. They have a daily updated menu. The number of quality other products like marinades, oils, noodles... Once you come here, you wont go anywhere else unless youre desperate for a specific item, and they dont have it. Ive never seen a line for poke like I have here.The shrimp in my pic doesnt do it justice; its just the only picture I have because we started diving in. They are AMAZING in size and quality. First time there. Excellent customer service from Jimmy who gave me a good overview of the menu. I got the mahi plate. Pretty good overall. Came with grilled mahi and 2 sides. I got the cucumber salad and white rice. Everything tasted good, but the issue is the side of cucumber salad was really small. Just feel like they could have been more generous with the serving size. There is ample free 2 hour parking on the street.

Loved my poke. Been on a serious poke kick for months and I have to have it whenever my taste buds call for it. I got the dynamite and Hawaiian tuna and it was delicious. Super fresh.The bf got the cioppino and he wasnt crazy about it because when it came out it wasnt hot enough for him. He asked them to warm it up and then it over cooked the seafood. But he can be a tough crowd. Hence the missing star.We shared the fried oysters and they were bomb.

Came here on the recommendation of the internet, was not disappointed.I got a crunchy fish and scallops plate; the seafood breading wasnt too thick and had a great crunch to it. The accompanying fries had a good crispiness to them, and the coleslaw was satisfying with a nice hint of sweetness.My friend got the clam chowder, which she described as creamy and filling. I was pretty disappointed though at how much plastic and “single use” items where given to me. I dined in the restaurant. Nothing but the tray the food was served on was not a “single use” item. This place is one of a kind. Right as you walk in from the street, the cooked food is on the right side. I got the calamari strips and clam chowder. Both were AMAZING! To the left is fresh fish and wines/groceries, and all the way down to the left are restrooms and packaged sushi, which was also amazing. The inside is very clean and has plenty of places to sit down and enjoy the food. Definitely coming back - my mouth is already watering thinking about it!

Apparently this is a very famous place among Japanese people in SFV area as the only place you can get sushi grade fish.We went there for a dinner and the quality was amazing. The products are fantastic in quality, but in two visits I’ve had such disappointing experiences. The first time the person at the seafood counter seemed extremely annoyed each time I asked for something (I was making seafood stew, so needed 3-4 different things), rolling his eyes and sighing each time.The second time, we went for lunch and after paying and getting to our table we got yelled at over the counter by an employee that they undercharged us by $2. They recharged us, and then after we showed the original receipt was correct, they refunded the $2 but never apologized for how they treated my partner. And then we didn’t get all our food. I order food from here for my senior friend and he loves it. He says it is so good. I rate the service as great. The food side staff are friendly and a pleasure to order with. Food comes out hot and fresh.I have to commend a fellow on the market side for his patience and great attitude for facing the fallout of some unsavory women and their little terror. As I waited for my order to cook up I found myself at the other end of the building. Two women, a grandmother and mother, were sassy and uncivilized towards the absolute mess their little male child left behind. I couldnt believe what I saw! Food and trash was left all over the table, the floor, and smears of food on the chairs and wall. They never corrected the childs behavior nor taught him manners. I can only imagine what their home looks like. I guess it is their culture to let their little men do as they please.Anyway, they left and one of the workers came out and diligently cleaned the area. We exchanged a few omgs and disbelieving laughs but he got to work and chalked it up to cost of doing business. He had a great attitude about it and Id say he is a great asset to this company.

Place is clean and seafood is fresh, but they are way too expensive. Halibut dinner was $24.95 and I received a 4 bite small filet. The lobster bisque is my favorite and fair priced at $6.50. Sushi is unaffordable and worth the settings or ambiance. For that just go to a sushi restaurant and enjoy the experience.

Talk about how dangerous it could have been had I swallowed it!Also, I wasn’t pleased when one of their pipes (above the shrimps) in the fridge was leaking! I ordered the grilled sea bass but not Chilean sea bass it was around $16.50 with a substitution of grilled vegetables as opposed to coleslaw. Ive been buying seafood from Fish King for at least 7 years or more. Pre-covid they always had a great selection of fish along with a knowledgeable group of workers... OGs who remembered your name and would give you low down on what was available; and the best purchase for your dollar. Sadly all the mature employees are gone; and so is the selection and quality of fish. Twice this month there was no tilapia, no salmon, no cod and this is during the week. Ive purchased items that were supposedly completely boneless only up find the fillet riddled with bones. Ive asked questions about why they dont have this or that and they just stare back and shrug their shoulders. The sushi is flavorless and of course the prices are up. And dont get me started on the prepared food area, where even the most minor things like fried oysters are routinely overcooked.I actually hope this review pushes the management there to make better decisions. They also are a full-service fishmonger with lots of high quality fish products. I recommend everything. The experience left a lot to be desired. The hours were changed but nobody told me that when I called. I have specifically asked if eating in wine and beer were available and I was told yes. When we got there the wine and beer was for off sale only. Most of the entrées were sold out so there was nothing wild and fresh. If you love fish fresh or grilled, this place is for you. Its the only store in all of the Los Angeles that sells what it claims the type of fish it is. All other markets and fish stores and restaurants have never passed inspection. Meaning they sell you a type of fish, but its actually some other kind of fish.

This is the premiere seafood market and fish centered bistro and they are expert at sushi. Their take out sushi is so fresh its almost still wiggling (j/k). The freshest fish in northern Los Angeles. One can find fresh Orange Roughy and wild caught Halibut, which are not readily available elsewhere. Prices are very reasonable for what they offer. At peak times and weekends, parking can be hard to find and the line can be long. Still, worth the wait.

Friendly staff and good selection of fish. In a bind they had calamari when no other place had it. The quality of the seafood was delicious. The have onsite parking which is great. Also, the have a nice little cafe where you can order a seafood to eat in store. Fish King is a good mix of in store eating and a fish market. Great food and friendly workers. Theyve been consistent since I was a kid. You always hear them mentioning their usuals names and if they run out of a particular fish, they will give a recommendation just as they would at a pier. Still sad they got rid of their hot bar.

Best seafood around. Must try their poke, Chilean sea bass, their shrimp tacos, their fried shrimp, their clam chowder, and my favorite is their teriyaki salmon bowl. You cant go wrong with any item here, I tend to take the fried shrimp platter to parties and gatherings and Ive never heard a complaint.

Their clam chowder is really delicious. Not watery like other places. Their teriyaki salmon is cooked to perfection. They put the teriyaki sauce on the side and its also superb. I have it with seasoned rice but you may choose white rice. I also choose the potato salad but you may choose sauerkraut or cucumber salad. They have parking. The place is always super clean and the employees are friendly and helpful.

I have been here several times and purchased good seafood although always more pricey than other places, even high-end grocery stores like WF. Last time we got seafood, the guy who helped me was very nice but rushed me. I go in knowing what I want, so I don’t like wasting time either. However, I had questions about the prices. The guy acted irritated but then realized that the advertised price was different than the listed price. The manager honored it despite being rude.The real back-breaker came this last weekend. The place was busy, and we needed a couple of pounds of mussels. The counter guy served it up without any regard for picking mussels. We got home and saw the mussels weren’t clean, and about a third of them were smashed. We called a day and a half afterwards to ask for more mussels and were challenged about the product, treated like thieves, and were told we should have frozen them for the manager to “examine”to decide if we “deserved” a replacement.I won’t support a business like this anymore. I’ll drive further and find a place that treats me well and provides a product worth eating without worrying about health issues or a subpar product. No thanks.

As LA opens up and we return slowly to doing the things weve taken for granted, I ventured to Glendale in search of a small part for an appliance, while nextdoor a small line was forming at Fish King. Exiting A&H Appliances, I could see the line had quintupled, so I decided to take the time to stand in line and find what was worth standing in line. They had everything except the smell of ammonia, so I knew there was nothing but fresh fish in that well stocked shop. Soft shell crab was just in, I had no dinner plans (a new thing for me, that is, meal planning), so I added wild sea scallops, jumbo wild shrimp, and wild red rock fish. Im so excited to have found this place!

Great food and great people. The new phone system is terrible and people dont want to stand in line to order when they could just call in. I used to just call, wait a few minutes max and then place my order. Now, Ill call and most of the time I recieve a Due to high call volume message and am asked to call back in 10 minutes. Call back, same thing. At times Ive been on hold for a good while before, so Ill physically go there to stand in line, watching as no one answers the phone. Sometimes, none of the workers even bother to answer the ringing phone? Very frustrating after work when you just want to get home and eat but then need to spend 20 minutes ordering and waiting in the sun no less. Other than that, the Galley makes great food to eat, and the fresh seafood department is awesome. Be sure to stop by Fish King if at all in Glendale!

The fresh seafood counter at Fish Kimg is always filled with plenty of choices at prices that are competitive with those at the local upscale grocery stores. I could see why this place is so popular. The fish look very fresh. I even overheard the guys talk about waking up early to go fishing. But since I only got the sushi and poke, this is my rating of the place.Ive bookmarked this place in anticipation that itll be Californias version of The Lobster Place. I went to the sushi bar to the left, and got a salmon avocado roll. The sushi/ nigiri selection was weak. It was def a sushi variety catered to Americans. The roll itself was okay. Not bad, not fishy, just okay.I got 1/4 lb. of the regular tuna shoyu poke, which I read about on many yelp reviews. It was okay too. I wish it had more onions to balance how dense the tuna was. Like the sushi, it wasnt bad but it was okay.Lastly, I ventured onto the cooked food section to the right. Im not a big fan of fried seafood, so I didnt opt to get that. My friend who frequents here for lunch had told me that the fried seafood was what made this place good :/ But I did get their lobster bisque and it was pretty good. $6 for a cup is pricey though!Conclusion? This place isnt The Lobster Place, but will be back to bring back a fish to cook at home!
