Fireside Lodge is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Lake Tahoe. The entire staff was so kind and helpful. The amenities including breakfast, bikes, DVDs, and happy hour were wonderful touches. The rooms were cute, clean, and had everything youd need. But mostly, Ive never stayed somewhere that was more dog friendly. They not only welcome pets, but love pets! They allow dogs to roam off-leash and to stay in the rooms unattended - something not common at all at other accommodations. I highly recommend staying here, and I know I would most certainly stay here again upon my next visit!

Wonderful lodging! We regret we could only stay one night. Hosts Eric and Olivia were exceptional. Welcomed us and our dog Lorelei (a German shepherd). Wine and cheese happy hour allowed us to meet other guests and let Lorelei engage with other very friendly dogs. Close to hiking areas. Very comfortable room and quiet location. Loved the themes of the lodging and having a kitchenette. Highly recommend a visit!

Wonderful stay. The owners are very warm, friendly and accommodating. They had wine and cheese hour, breakfast in the morning (waffle bar and cereal), fireplace with smores and blankets available and tons of cute touches (fireplace in the main lodge, games, dads, snacks, arcade games, and pay as you go bar). Cute rooms with fireplaces inside and dog friendly. Would definitely go back!

Love this place. It is a great little dog friendly lodge thats family run and their breakfast, happy hour and smores by the firepit are great! Feels like you are visiting family. Everyone goes out of their way to please the guests without being overbearing. This is the only place to stay when visiting South Lake Tahoe. What I especially like is they are the last property before entering the forest on highway 89.

This is a Motor Inn converted/renovated to a cute, Cabin Lodge type of accommodation. This place has thought of everything to make guests stay as comfortable and fun as possible. Very family and dog friendly.The Inn in located in a less populated location, right off HWY 89, backed up into the forest featuring various hiking & biking trails. I personally enjoyed being able to walk out my door straight onto a hiking trail.My husband and I, along with our pup, stayed in the Field and Stream room, during the winter time. Although it was small, it was up-to-date, thoughtfully decorated, and it had everything we needed. The room was clean, and had wood floors, no carpet (which is huge in a pet friendly inn). We loved the in-room fireplace. Since we stayed for 2 nights, we asked for extra coffee (they have very simple folgers packets/powder creamer in the rooms before the good stuff gets brewed in the dining area at 0800hrs) and a couple of extra towels. We were lucky to have considerate neighbors - but be aware that the walls are thin and you may want to bring earplugs in case your neighbors are up later than you. (there are phone numbers to text staff after hours if someone has a yappy dog or decides to have a late night party - we didnt experience this though thankfully).The dining, lounging and game area is quaint but very cute and cozy. Complimentary Happy Hour wine and cheese hit the spot! There is an excellent beer selection along with a mini bar to have cocktails in-house - available for purchase. We enjoyed the big outdoor firepit and complimentary smores. Next time we may use the hot sauna. There are a bunch of dvds available to take back to your room.The resident dogs are very sweet and cute. Expect the resident dogs to be hanging out in the common areas amongst everyone (in case you have allergies). But they are very well behaved and clean.Our dog stays leashed up and to himself, away from shared areas since hes not a fan of being rushed up on by new dogs. We communicated this to staff and they were very respectful of giving us space when we went out for walks and potty breaks.Breakfast was a sweet assortment of make- your-own waffles (with all the fixings), cereals, yoplait yogurts, toast, bagels, hard boiled eggs, coffee and juices. This is a continental breakfast, so youre not going to get your cooked eggs + protein - something to be know if youre looking for something more hearty. This is the only thing we wish this inn had so we felt nourished enough before a big hike/skiing/snowboarding/etc. We had to make another stop for a protein, non-sweets, hot breakfast (just personal preferences though).The staff seemed to be all family. They were very attentive and the hospitality was top-notch. This is honestly a huge highlight!We look forward to our next visit.

Perfect, family-owned gem that we accidentally discovered last year, and now is our only destination for lodging whenever we go up to the Lake. It is absolutely retro 50-60s with each room uniquely decorated into comfortable rooms that feel more like individual cabins. The amenities are amazing, and the staff are all family who go out of their way to help you!

THIS IS OUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME!Each room has a different theme. They are all cozy and charming. The lodge is packed with nostalgia and located close enough to enjoy downtown but far enough to avoid the hustle and bustle. Hop on a complimentary beach cruiser bicycle and peddle to the lake...enjoy a delicious hot breakfast on the house... sit around the camp fire... have some wine and cheese...check out one of the hundreds of dvd movies available...play with the mascot (a fun loving dog named Leo)...bring the family because the lodge is designed for just that...HAVING A WONDERFUL TAHOE VACATION! The owners and innkeepers of this lodge provide out of this world service! 🚀 We came from Australia and felt right at home. We accidentally left our room door open and a raccoon broke in to steal our snacks. But the Lodge staff expertly but humanely trapped and released it back into the wild 🦝. We had a fair dinkum good time! Thanks, mates! 🪃🦘

Wow! I didnt expect this place to be that amazing ( i mean, i did a little based on the reviews), but to experience it yourself is another story. We booked the number 4 room, it has a queen bed, a fireplace, a kitchen, and a bathroom. We have 2 kids, and were used to sleeping in one bed. We got there, and the owner greeted us so warmly! They showed us our room and they made an extra bed for our kids! The table in our kitchen is convertible to bed. That was a total surprise, and we appreciate the thought so much! The common area is so beautifully decorated with christmas decorations! The happy hour starts and 5, and its free! They served wine, cheese, olives, and crackers! Its very generous! They have lots of dvd to choose from, and you can also make popcorn in their popcorn machine! Around 6 or 7, you can do smores, too! Then they have a free breakfast! Bread, eggs, milk, yogurt, etc., they also served delicious waffles and lots of toppings to choose from. What a fun place to be. We ought to come back in the summer! Highly recommend this place! We cant wait to go back!

So, I have stayed here a few times and always enjoy it. It is off the beaten path, close to a lot of trails and the lake so great for wanting to enjoy the outdoors. It is family owned and operated which is great and they are amazingly helpful and friendly.The only reason I didnt go five stars overall is the last time I stayed there two neighboring rooms were extremely loud late into the night and not following quiet hours. Unfortunately there is not much to be done since the staff is not onsite when they leave for the evening.Side note, I love the location and it is five stars for me, if you like to be closer to the hustle and bustle of south Tahoe, it might not be for you.

If you want a family friendly, kid friendly, pet friendly place to stay then this is it. I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with the family who owns and runs this lodge and every single one of them are the sweetest people I have had the honor of meeting. They all welcome you and treat you like family. There is no better place to stay in Tahoe than this place. I will definitely be back. My husband and I and our families stayed here this weekend for our wedding and now I want to come back every year. The lodge is beautiful, the outside areas are beautiful and the rooms are beautiful. We even talked with the other guests staying the weekend and they were all so nice and fun to visit with. This truly is a great place to stay. These are great people who run a great lodge.

Stayed two nights here…wow what an experience this place is!! It’s so nice over the top with amenities it will take a couple nights to absorb it all.We had gotten the larger king suite, which has a kitchenette, a separate room with the king bed and a living room with a Murphy Bed. The room was great…cool decorations, felt like you in a cabin on your own.The lodge itself feels like your home, the breakfast area is like you’re in someone’s house. It encourages a lot of socializing, very dog friendly as well. Tons of games, and old arcades to play inside…the outdoor patio area is also full of games, and areas to relax.The owners family and friends are there working and they are very welcoming and interact with the guest in a way you don’t see anywhere else.Stay here on your next trip to South Lake Tahoe, book early!

My family stayed here for 5 nights and had the most wonderful time. Our Bears Den room was nice and cozy. We ate smores every night. My son and I enjoyed riding the bikes and renting a SUP for the beach. Everyone who works here is super nice and friendly. Even though we dont have a dog, my son made friends with all of the lovely dogs that were staying there. I highly recommend staying here. Location is great, walking distance to Pope Beach and small cafes. Delicious breakfast, waffles, yogurt, fresh fruit, pastries and breads. They have a nice DVD selection and players in the rooms. They also have popcorn to make a perfect movie night. Thank you Tracy and Steven for a great stay!

Fireside Lodge was the best find for us! We were looking to travel with our cat for a few days to Tahoe and it was so hard to find a place. Im so glad we stumbled upon Fireside Lodge in our search. This family owned pet-friendly hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are absolutely delightful and have the best decorations. We stayed in the True West room and it was the best stay we have had in Tahoe. They also have happy hours in the evening and its a wonderful time to talk to other guests. Its also in a great location (close to emerald bay and many ski resorts).

After doing some research, I booked a cabin over the president’s day weekend. When we first pull up to the cabin, I saw Nick throwing salt on the icy ground. He immediately greeted us and checked us right in, show us the room and the amenities. Not to mentioned his sister Olivia called me earlier that check in date to make sure we want a third bed set up. Each cabin has its unique touch and clean! I like the kitchenette that I can store and reheat food. Jeff was a awesome and friendly guy that known the family for years. He helped the kiddos to make waffles and make sure whoever showed up for breakfast is tended to as well as Nick was super helpful. Cute little lodge with a personable touch. And we parked our car right in front of the cabin. It was such a easy access! I’d rather stay here than a room in a hotel from now on. Will come back for sure!

My family and I recently stayed here for a few days to get away with the kids. Fireside Lodge was the perfect location- we could not be happier. Our kids favorite part of the trip was the vintage game room at the lodge! The staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast in the morning is great and saved us a ton of money by not having to eat out. I highly recommend taking one of their bikes out for a ride down to the lake. Overall, Fireside Lodge was a great central location for all of the Tahoe / Carson activities that we had planned and a comfortable place to stay.

We first stayed here due to a mishap at the hotel down the street, but did that ever end up doing us a favor. We stayed at Fireside instead and what an awesome experience! They made us feel so welcome. With all the amenities, it makes Fireside such a great value. Each time we come, we find there are even more amenities that we can take advantage of. And it’s always fun to check out another one of the themed rooms. Our dog is always welcome and even encouraged.Their commitment to excellence was on full display when they were quickly evacuated last year for the Caldor Fire. They removed and packed up all of the decor and ornaments to safely stow away and then returned it all to the original locations. Wow! That is some teamwork and dedication! If you are searching for a B&B-style stay in South Lake Tahoe, this is your place! Steve, Tracy, and the team make this quaint, clean, and convenient location such a joy to stay at. We have stayed at various lodges in Tahoe, and far and away, this was our best experience. Our complimentary breakfast was a treat as we indulged in the Steve and Tam waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, and fresh orange juice. They have a great happy hour with beer, wine, and snacks. They also offer a full bar (honor system) to mix your own cocktail as well. An infrared Spa is available in the Serenity Room along with dozens and dozens of board games and DVDs should the weather keep you indoors. They have bikes available with conveniently located trails right next to the lodge. We made the short bike ride to Pope Beach, where we enjoyed a lovely afternoon of sun, sand, and cool Lake Tahoe waters. The staffs warm welcome and hospitality are what really sets Fireside Lodge apart. Thanks to Steve, Tracy, Tam, and the team for such a great experience. Highest recommendation!

I really cant say anything bad about this place. What a great experience. The staff was great, Nick was very nice. The rooms are also great, clean, and they feel very cozy, and homey. This place is pet friendly, and you will also see some of their dogs walking around. They also have DVDs and games that you can borrow/play. As well as being able to borrow the bikes that they have. Overall, this may have been the best hotel experience Ive had, and I highly recommend it. I will be returning here the next time that Im in Tahoe.

A must stay at South Lake Tahoe when youve got your dog!!!It can be challenging to find great dog-friendly places that are actually pet friendly. We felt instantly at home here! Most of the other guests had dogs, but not all. The location is excellent. Close to the lake, shops and restaurants ( a short drive away). There is a perfect trail right by the motel to take your pooch for a stroll. There is a happy hour with wine, cheese, nuts and they make sure you have everything to make you happy. You can chat with other guests or take things back to your room. Smores by the fire are offered as well ( 7pm). And breakfast! The waffles looked out of this world! Those are very nice extras. My dog could go anywhere with me on the property and in fact be off leash if I wanted. The owners are super hospital and the extremely friendly and helpful managers all bring their dogs to work. Doggie-Palooza. We loved it! We will absolutely stay here again when we visit the South shore.

The Fireside Lodge is a gem. The staff is wonderful, attentive and engaging. They genuinely care about their guests and treat them that way - as a guest - not a customer or a nuisance as some places do. The rooms are great - very nicely kept and truly make you feel like you are staying in a cabin by the lake. They do such a nice job with breakfast - a real sit-down type breakfast served to you. What a great surprise to be able to check out bikes to enjoy the trails for no additional cost. The fireside area is great for relaxing, meeting other guests and sharing in the complementary Smores. Its like experiencing all of the good parts of staying with family. We decided to take a last-minute trip to Tahoe with our 3 dogs. First, if you are looking for an upscale hotel walking distance to the busy center of South Lake Tahoe, then this is not your place. But if your looking for a truly special stay with AMAZING hosts, then look no further! This is a small family run lodge/hotel that is truly a hidden gem and owners who go out of their way to make sure your stay is one you wont forget. The attention to detail is what makes this place so special.Better yet, they are super dog friendly! From the moment we checked in we knew this was the place for us. Its very quaint, cozy and clean. We loved everything about this place! The hearty yummy breakfast in the mornings, the happy hour in the afternoon to the smores in the evening. What we enjoyed most was hanging out with the owners Tracy & Steve during happy hour just laughing and talking away.The location was perfect for us. You could walk to the lake or just take the path located right next door and go all day, walking, hiking, or biking. I loved how they are so dog friendly, and the dogs are welcomed everywhere we are. I cant say enough about our time spent there except that we only wished we could of stayed longer. We checked in as guest but felt like we checked out as family. We arrived in Tahoe later than expected and happened upon the most adorable B&B! Thankfully Steve and Tracy had a cabin available for us to stay for the night. We were welcomed with a cheese and wine board, made s’mores by the fire, and then ended the night with one of their many movie selections. Breakfast the next morning was freshly prepared and started our day of exploring off right! Would recommend this place to everyone for the wonderful ambience, friendly service, and comfortable lodging.

I had a terrible experience coming over the pass in my van slipping and sliding in a snowstorm after my cable chains snapped off. I saw the light on at the Fireside Lodge and pulled in. I was exhausted and out of sorts. What a blessing it turned out to be. I was cheerfully greeted and offered everything from hot cocoa to wine and cheese while I was being checked in. The room was cozy and spotless with great attention to detail. It was so great to not have to trudge out in the snow in the morning to find some breakfast but instead to have a lovely toasted bagel and a mocha. Steve and Tracy helped me to figure out how to get some new chains for my trip over the pass and kept my room open for me until I called to let them know I had made it over successfully. I am so grateful for the safe haven and excellent hospitality. I will always book there when I come back to the area.

I cant say enough good things about this place. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. We recently went for a 10 year anniversary trip. From the moment we got there we felt like friends and not just guests. Nick, Steve and Tracy were so wonderful. The personal touch of their service is just amazing. Nick gave us a tour of the place when we checked in. The waffles for breakfast in the morning were delicious. We stayed in the big blue room and it was perfect for the two of us. I really love all the decor in the rooms and around the lodge. We took advantage of the bike rentals that are part of your stay there, that was lots of fun! The other thing I like is that this place only has 10 rooms so it was always quiet, just a perfect get away in South Lake Tahoe. I also thought it was neat that you got to have a conversation with the other guests either at breakfast or around the fire pit at night. That is another advantage to this place being small. We will 100% be back and cant wait to stay here again.

Wonderful stay, will definitely be staying here when we visit again! SUPER dog friendly. Was given a tour when we arrived by Tamara. They had their dogs hanging out on the property and loved playing with our little dog, they (the dogs) were very gentle and patient. The lodge offers so many extras to their guests. Breakfast by the owners in the AM, be your bartender in evening, tons movies and games available. The room was super comfortable, water pressure in shower was incredible.

Loved staying here for my birthday getaway! Fireside lodge was above and beyond what I expected. The field and stream suite had everything that my dog, boyfriend and I needed. The staff left me a birthday brownie and candle which was very cute. I loved how friendly and helpful the staff were, from answering questions, giving activity suggestions, and just having a nice conversation with. This place is very dog friendly! Loved the bikes, and riding over to the beach. The location is awesome, close to so many nice hikes, beaches, and good restaurants. Love that they do the wine & snacks happy hour, and the breakfast was delicious, they catered so well to gluten/dairy allergy as well. From the moment we arrived, til the morning we left, everything at Fireside Lodge was perfect. We were there for a family reunion plus a family wedding being held at the Valhalla Lodge down the road. Our hosts, the Carta Family( Steven, Tracy, Nick, Olivia, Eric and Jeff) were extremely accommodating. The breakfasts were excellent, and along with the Happy Hour and the roasting of marshmallows, our group was plenty happy. With a couple of kids under two, and two young, very active ladies 8 and 10, it was a wonderful place for them to unwind. My 16 month old granddaughter couldnt get enough lovin from Leo, the resident dog. He was so patient! All in all, it was a wonderful time at Fireside Lodge. P.S. the bikes were used a lot!

Come here as stranger; leave as family member. 😃 I sought refugee here during a blizzard. They made a feel welcome. The rooms were clean, very uniquely decorated and nicely warm. I would absolutely recommend this place. Its like having a home away from home. Love and miss the breakfast I had there. The people are genuinely nice and you feel the positive energy in the place. This place deserves a 10+ star rating. This is the best hotel Ive stayed in so far.The hotel itself and the room was very clean, and you can tell the sheets were fresh.The people/staff are very kind, helpful, thoughtful, and very engaging in conversations. The service was exceptional.Breakfast was amazing. I felt like I was in a restaurant being served. The waffle toppings are amazing. Definitely a must have. Our fave is The Nick.There are DVDs you can borrow to watch in your room, and there is a great selection.Fireside lodge is the epitome of what a hotel experoence should be like. I cant speak highly enough about the Fireside Lodge. Eighteen of us descended on the Lodge for a Lake Tahoe adventure wed postponed twice due to COVID and last years fires. The Lodge is out of the hustle and bustle of South Lake Tahoe, but close to everything. The rooms are excellent - clean, comfortable, and with daily maid service. The breakfast is delicious and hearty. But what sets Fireside Lodge apart is the service. Steven and Tracy could not have been more accommodating. They seemed to anticipate our every need, and if they couldnt help us, they knew who could. Whether youre traveling solo or with a group, I recommend you give the Fireside Lodge a try.

There is no words for how incredible our stay was at Fireside Lodge. We were welcomed by Nick who gave us a wonderful and thorough tour of the property and its endless amenities. Each morning we were met by Olivia and Tamara who made the most delicious waffles and a dining room full of chats and laughs. The best part was how welcome our fur babies were. As a couple who loves to travel with our pups we are always on the look for places where they arent just allowed but loved by all. We are counting down the days until we can return and see this perfect picture taken from a Christmas Hallmark movie in the snow!

What a place! I cant find the right words to describe how wonderful the lodge, its people, and the dogs are. The atmosphere created is one of being at home. We got a tour of all the amenities which ranged from a sauna and game room to firepit and bikes. Breakfast is made for you in the morning and is plentiful. I can recommend The Fireside and The Nick but there are many more to choose from that I didnt get to try. Nick and Tamara went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. They are there for you. I highly recommend staying here to relax and its an ideal location to explore Lake Tahoe with your pet.

We (4 and 3 fur babies) decided to spend Christmas out here. We all left very happy and satisfied with our stay. Steve and Tracy were extremely welcoming and kind. Our last night, it snowed and rained so we opted to staying in. We watched movies and played UNO (there’s a bookshelf full of DVDs and board games). Breakfast is complimentary, something to keep in mind if booking here.The hikes we went on were around 15-30 mins away, no traffic. The location is honestly perfect.If we’re ever back in the city, we’ll definitely be staying here again :)

Wonderful lodge, very friendly accommodating service and a comfortable stay. Rooms were nice and warm. The lounge had an extensive DVD collection, vintage arcade game room, and a cozy area to sit. Friendly accomodating staff includes owners. This is obviously a labor of love and it shows. Rooms are beautifully designed and decorated in an alpine lodge motif. There are some kitchy elements thrown in for fun. Check out the really cool old red truck out front. Lots of little amenities really enhance the experience. Hands down best hotel Ive ever stayed at. They are very dog friendly which was huge for us. They gave us blankets for our dogs to sleep on and dog treats as well. Our dogs are even allowed in the common area which was great. The room was phenomenal and service was the best. The fireplace in the room was magical. Breakfast is included and amazing. They serve wine and cheese in the evening which was so nice. We sipped wine and hung out with the night staff while our dogs all played together. Small family-owned lovely B&B, perfect for a getaway! Located away from the crowded parts of South Lake Tahoe and on the doorsteps of the National Forest! Upon check-in, we were greeted by Tamara (and Nick) who gave us a tour of the facility and a comprehensive description of the amenities (indoor breakfast room, bar, arcade room, lounge by the fireplace, outdoor patio with hammock and games). Our room was perfect with a queen bed and small kitchenette (fridge with freezer, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, plates, cups and silverware). They offer a great complementary breakfast from 8-11a and a happy hour with wine, cheese and charcuterie from 5-7p. The whole team is very attentive to the guests and ready to provide recommendations on the area. They went above and beyond to accommodate our pizza night and even gift me with a small lava cake for my birthday! Big shout-out to Tam and Nick for the warm welcome and prefect service. Hands down my favorite place I have ever stayed. They made us feel welcome immediately and were nothing but kind the whole duration of our stay. They even made my father a brownie for his birthday (the reason for the trip!) The whole lodge is completely charming and comfortable and its in a perfect location to get to everything you would want to do; swimming in the lake, hiking, bike trails, bars & restaurants, etc. I wouldnt stay anywhere else while in Tahoe and I hope to come back to see the snow. 4 years ago, we were charged with organizing a trip for a group of friends. Approximately 20 of us travel together frequently. This time we wanted to go to the mountains. We proposed Lake Tahoe and it was met with thundering applause.We looked at VRBO, Air BNB and other rental house agencies, but everything was so darn expensive. Then I stumbled upon Fireside Lodge. From my first conversation with Steve, I knew this was the place. We booked the entire Lodge for a long weekend in July of 2020. Then COVID hit and everything was shutting down. So, we decided to push the trip back to August of 2021. Steve was very accommodating and worked with us to make sure we got the weekend we wanted. One week before our anticipated 2021 arrival, the Calder fire breached the last mountain pass and was headed towards South Lake Tahoe, and again everything began shutting down. So, we made the decision to postpone once again - good thing, as the mandatory evacuation orders hit right in the middle of our intended visit. So, we rescheduled AGAIN, this time for late June 2022. Again, Steve was delightful in working with us to reschedule. By now, they felt like family.Success!!! We can report that the stay at Fireside Lodge indeed occurred without incident and that everything was wonderful - Steve and Tracy were amazing hosts. The family atmosphere just continued. Daughter Olivia was so energetic and cheerful serving breakfast, and we really missed Leo on the days she wasnt working. We didnt get to meet Son Nick, but we had many enjoyable telephone conversations, including a week before our arrival as we tried to determine the next natural disaster that would delay our arrival. Thankfully, none of them came true! We really felt like family the entire visit. Breakfasts were amazing, Happy hours were great fun sitting out by the fire. The rooms were really cute and well maintained.This was a trip to remember, and a lot of the credit goes to the Fireside Lodge.

Tracy and Steve, the owners, were so accommodating and helped us with everything we needed. They offer complimentary breakfast (The waffles were my favorite-- so easy and SO delicious! With any topping you can imagine!!), happy hour with wine and cheese, AND smore time by the fire. There is so much included in the price of your stay that you do not get with any ordinary hotel. My fiance and I brought our two medium sized dogs here for a fun snow weekend. We ended up getting stuck an extra day due to weather and could not have been happier about it. The staff was wonderful, pleasant, and welcoming. We borrowed snow shoes from the lodge for free and spent one day exploring. The happy hour was a nice way to relax after playing in the snow, and making Smores outside in the snow with Alex was so much fun! I have to say that this is a great little get away, especially if you have dogs. They are super dog friendly and the extras at this place are amazing. Complimentary expanded continental breakfast, the waffles are amazing.Then there is the complimentary wine and cheese every evening and the complimentary smores are great. They even have bikes and sleds for you to use.For those cold snowy nights by the fire pit they have fire pit blankets for you to use.The only reason that I put 4 stars instead of 5 is a couple of things. The room on the site shows a couch that makes into a bed. The mountainside retreat room actually just has a Murphy bed in the wall. The front room needs a couch. Second, they have some great wineries down the road, it would be amazing for them to work with those wineries to get those wines for the wine and cheese that they put out.Definitely a great place to stay.

We LOVED this place! So happy we found it. We were trapped in terrible traffic that wasnt going anywhere and were desperate to get off of the road. A quick search located this little gem of a place. We booked the last available room (#2 Field and Stream). The room was clean, cozy and well appointed with a small kitchen. There is a gas fireplace for heat which does the job nicely and makes for a great cabin ambience. The shower was one of the better ones Ive ever used on the road (including 5 star hotels). Great water pressure and HOT. If youve ever experienced a poor shower after a day of snow skiing in freezing temps- you know how important that is!The lodge itself was unique and homey. There was a common area with a happy hour-free wine and snacks. There was a well stocked game room with many favs, skeeball, air hockey and a couple of 80s vintage arcade games. Alex, an employee, showed us around. The lodge has fun decor, but most importantly it feels like a friendly bed and breakfast that you are a part of. I would totally recommend this great place!

We booked a room at the last minute after realizing we wouldn’t make it to our place at kirkwood. Alex, who helped us over the phone while we sat on the 50 for 8 hours, generously accommodated our late nite checkin, even calling us before he left at 9 pm to make sure we knew our room number. We arrived at midnight after 14 hours on the road with our pup. The lights in our room were on, our name was on the door, the heater was going, there were cookies. We almost cried with relief. The western room was adorable and immaculately clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and, the thing that never happens in hotels happened the next morning: the much needed coffee was strong and good. Wow!! I loved this place. We loved this place! The new owners, Tracy and Steve are great. We arrived and were treated to a brief tour of the common areas and introduced to the lodge dog. This is a dog friendly establishment and although we didnt bring a dog with us, we met several personable canines and their people. Our room was as expected and as described. The rooms are compact but they are well laid out and designed. We had selected a specific room and it was great. Each room has a theme and a name plaque which reflects the name. We got to preview some of the other rooms before we left......and we WILL return!! I just have to decide which theme.for our next visit.......still thinking! We were celebrating and had ordered flowers and more and everything was as expected. The beverage, cookies and brownie were delicious. Yummy! Breakfast is a make your own waffle bar with cereals, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, coffee, chocolate, juice and more. The lobby has both tables and sitting areas, a fireplace, games to play and more. The Ms. Pacman, Galaga, air hockey table were greatly enjoyed. Well behaved, friendly dogs are welcome. Late afternoon/early evening brings a bite of cheese and olives with wine. Later in the evening you will have a fire and make your own smores option. By 9 pm its quiet time for downtime and sleep. We loved our three days here and will return as soon as we have time for another multiday getaway.

Wow a really great place to stay! We had cabin 7 (true west) and it was very nice! The room was clean. The gasfireplace was very warm (to regulate) and cozy. The bed was just too soft. Thats the only thing. Im glad they allow dogs. The house dog (lab) Kona is very friendly. Continental breakfast was included and it was very good. Bagels, hardboiled eggs, yogurt, cereals, wafflemaker, milk, oj, tea, coffee etc! Even snacks like power bars and bananas were there all day long. We borrowed the snow shoes which was lots of fun (and for free). We also rent the whirlpool & sauna room for an hour and we were sooo relaxt! That was so great! It was pretty pricey for us but after that we felt the stay is really worth the money. The owner are really nice and they thought of everything. They even have shavers, toothpaste etc. in the bathroom:) Oh and the bathroom was very clean and the shower head was amazing:) At 7-9pm you can roast marshmallows outside over the gasfirepit and from 5-7 they have crackers and cheese etc in the dining room area.

Our family of four and our small dog Mimsi spent one of the 3 best nights in a long time at the Fireside Lodge. Breakfast was awesome and included, especially the waffle mix they use plus the fresh berry toppings. Hot chocolate and marshmallows were always available for the kids to drink, along with some very nice snacks. Wine, tea, crackers, salami, cheese! And to top it of, your own made smores at night in the outdoor fireplace. Christine and the staff were great, including Rosa and Lupe that took care of our room. They had a great time, and they are quite picky sometimes.Besides that, the lodge is very close by to US 50 for whatever else you need in dining, clothes or the supermarket. And you are also very close to the Lake Tahoe National Park, Camp Richardson, Emerald Bay, multiple hiking trails, etc. Multiple places close by to go sledding too.Great place to spend your time during any time of the year!

Well, we finally gifted ourselves to this experience at Fireside Lodge after many years of driving by and intuitively knowing this is a great place. I with my Shuga and His Sister from Los Angeles. Greeted from the start with such warmth as everything about the charming Lodge brings. Tracy (co-owner)had months prior taken us on the tour of each room, all of the Lodge and explained in detail of the amenities included. All that we were informed of did not come close to the enjoyment with our stay on the 4th of July 2018. As I watched, Steve, Tracy, Tayna and Mike work so diligently setting up decorations and BBQ for our INDEPENDENCE DAY celebration I had tears in my eyes. I knew these two couples really cared to make this a special holiday stay. From early morning to late at night, they are there to make your stay the BEST experience. We had fun conversing with them and others out by the fire in the evening and morning breakfast. New owners finding their groove.Very nice people, very clean rooms. Woodsy mountain themed decoration. Game room from 80s, 25 cents a game. Rooms have crockpot, coffee maker, refridgerator. Ski lift seats outside each door to relax on. Smores ingredients provided nightly to make over outdoor fire pit. Bikes. Trails to walk. Fireplaces in lobby, which is very small, and in rooms, all gas. Covered pavillion. A wedding here would be fun. Snow here would be beautiful. no real private place for couples, except room. Set up well for groups and families, they would have a blast. Breakfast had delicious coffee.

Ultra kitsch if you like that sort thing. The positive: vintage arcade games, great for, and great for adults nostalgic for the 80s. The negative: the proprietors dont seem to quite get the idea of hospitality. And one peculiar problem was that someone seemed to empty a whole can of air freshener into our room. Or was so that our throats were burning. We ended up opening our windows in freezing weather just to breathe. When we informed the proprietor, his response was that the cleaners use freshener and he couldnt do anything about that.

This is a funky little bed and breakfast that used to be a motel by the looks of it ...the rooms have been completely redone to look like cabins, the beds are great and has a little kitchen area and fireplace.There are Trails right outside your door that go to the lake for those that like to hike and they have bicycles that you can use ... I believe those are free and theres also a game room although Im not sure whats in there.When you check in the little lobby area there are movies you can rent and early in the evening they have wine and cheese,crackers and fruit... Which is very nice and you can sit in front of the fireplace and in the morning they have breakfast which is also good, but not great, and you can again sit in front of the fireplace ... this is probably the best deal in Tahoe!

Feels Like Home! But Better! My wife and I have been there 2 times and it was the best. Its not fancy but the service makes you feel like you are in a 100 star AAA rated Diamond edition hotel! The owner and employees are very nice and helpful. Free smores for kids at night and an open bar and keg for the adults! And dont forget the free breakfast waffles that you make yourself with all the toppings you want!! Ahhh its sooo good! Location is perfect too. Just on the outer edge of the city so its quiet and peaceful. I dont think I will ever go anywhere else

This place could be great but falls short in too many ways. Rooms are packed with over the top Western themed decorations. Great if you like this sort of thing, where there is not a square inch without an old wagon wheel, a real or faux vintage poster, etc. But then they use such an image amount of air freshener that my wife ended up with an asthma attack. Another example: they have the sweet idea that theyll offer a wine and cheese selection in the public areas every afternoon, but then use the most pedestrian pre-sliced supermarket cheese. The one clear positive aspect is the vintage arcade games. Kids love these, and they are a trip down memory lane for adults. The proprietors can strangely inflexible about certain things. For example, when my wife remarked on the excessive use of air freshener, the proprietors response was, housekeeping uses that and I cant do anything about it. When my wife wanted to borrow a chair to use at the kitchen table to do some computer work because she thought it would be more comfortable than the bench seating provided, the initial response was, you cant borrow a chair, because they are a set. They did eventually let her borrow one and were apologetic. Still, this was too many weird interactions and too many almost but not quites and we unfortunately wont be coming back. Or friends with 9 year old twins will probably be back though.

We stayed at the Fireside Inn the weekend of April 20th 08 (while attending a wedding) and were so impressed that we will stay nowhere else in the future when visiting the Tahoe area. Christine, Dave, Kona & Jane are the best!!!!! Hospitality, congeniality and a sense of belonging were abundant.
