Fire and Ice games is probably the most organized and well stocked Retro game store I’ve visited. I’ve many retro stores in the Bay Area, Chicago, Japan, Vegas etc. The owner Ryan and his staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. Give them a visit and have fun! What a blast from the past :)

I make it a habit to stop into local games stores whenever I’m traveling.Let me start by saying that beyond the immaculate branding and ease of finding the place based off a quick search the moment you enter the shop you realize that the owner Ryan and his team have made some very deliberate and thoughtful choices.My head immediately snapped to a gorgeous graded copy of Earthbound and an array of incredible classic gaming history surrounding it.Dare caught my attention and immediately got to work helping me put together a bundle of n64 multiplayer classics and everything I’d need to share a slice of my childhood with my friends.Beyond the incredible selection of games their singles collection for Magic had anything you could want to assemble a pretty spooky commander deck.The team here is super passionate about their craft, each with their own niche of nerddom they represent and share that passion with everyone I watched come in and in the three visits I made over the course of my week in town.I would and plan to fly back just to stop into the shop and I hear they are opening another location soon.I waxed poetics. This is a nerd paradise and I will rave about them to anyone who asks and look forward to coming back.To any of the team who reads this, you guys made my week thanks for being so talented and in touch with so much of gaming culture.

Far and away the best game store I’ve ever been to. Their big, open space makes for incredible events for magic and other games. Staff is extremely friendly and hardworking which also makes events one-of-a-kind. The store has a massive inventory for tcg’s, collectibles, and all gaming consoles, new and retro. Combine all of that with their emphasis on community engagement and it’s clear that they’re the best gaming store in the area.

I recently wanted to rebuild my gaming collection and was told to check this spot out. Took a couple buddies with me and we were not disappointed! The collection of games here is astounding and all of them are in great condition. They also have multiple copies of some really rare games Im sure collectors would find impressive. They also have other collectibles like Magic cards, anime figures, board games, Warhammer 40k. A little something for every one! It also seemed like a chill spot to hang out with friends and play cards, maybe even some of the video games. 10/10 would recommend this place for the gaming enthusiast and I definitely will keep coming back here!

One of the best Video games and Trading Cards stores Ive ever been to. I moved up here from San Jose/Mountain View, and I was worried about finding a good Videogame spot. Plenty of collectibles and rare cards and games to take a look at. The Staff here is straight up the best people Ive ever met and deal with. Alex, and Lee are both Dope, two of the most chillest people on the planet. Ryan the owner is top notch. He has more good crew members on the team, but I fail to remember their names at this point, but they know who they are, but pretty much, the whole team is FLAWLESS. All kinds of events go on here as well, looking forward to the next one thats coming up. The atmosphere very clean and welcoming. Always looking forward to coming here. Blake is Dope. All the crew members Damion. Atmosphere is always welcoming, music always popping and family friendly.

The store was really nice. Definitely an upper scale vintage video game store and the prices reflected that. The staff were nice and very helpful. Kind of a shortage of modern stuff but if you are looking for anything older and willing to pay the premiums of a storefront it is well worth checking out as they have quite an amazing selection.

Nerd Heaven. I’ve personally sat in this store just ogling at my childhood for hours. The repair bench area has been able to fix all the vintage stuff I needed repaired. Genuinely love it in there, even the temperature is great. Truly amazing.

Just happened across this store and its amazing! I got a Nintendo and 10 games I remember from 30 years ago. Its old and imperfect so there was a couple issues but the Tech. (Blake) worked with the console to get it into playable condition. Me and my wife played Nintendo for 2 days and had a blast. Super selection! If you like games, new and old I highly recommend and suggest you check this place out. Every one was very nice and helpful, the place is big enough to host games and tournaments, and it is very well lit! I love it and you will too, give them a look-see!

Clean friendly positive environment. DARE is absolutely amazing her knowledge in Retro Gaming is so refreshing. Me and my husband love walking through so many childhood memories of games we used to play brings us back. Ryan is phenomenal positive and always focused very humble man. the store is our favorite place to go brings us back to the good ol days the games are in incredible condition there is so much love and care put in the store and people who have passion and love for what they do. No matter what day we come the employees are very helpful hardworking the energy in this environment is very high. Walk in and definitely feel the positivity and love these people have created in this store absolutely an addicting store. Every 90s kids dream! I was able to purchase 007 Golden eye N64 in the box. Super stoked to add this to my desk. Store has the biggest selection I have every scene in person. Great place to purchase old and current Gen games of all conditions for gamers and collectors! I will be back.

5 stars is not even nearly enough. Walking into that store gave me a bigger hit of dopamine than Ive had in a decade. Staff is amazing and friendly and they literally have your entire childhood in there. Doesnt matter what era, its in there. 80s kid? Yep. 90s? Got your N64 lined up dude, 2000s? The Positives: Great location. Large area for event play.The Negatives: First local hobby retailer that Ive experienced that charges a fee to use a credit card (I think it was 3%). I was also surprised they are selling Star Wars Unlimited above retail price. For example every other shop in area sold 2 Player Starter at $34.99 (or less). $39.99 here so not great if you are looking for most bang for your buck. I believe in supporting my local LGS but I dont appreciate being gouged.

If youve got a collection of classic video games or old consoles collecting dust, do yourself a favor and take them here. My wife and I went here to sell all our retro gaming stuff and walked away extremely satisfied.From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They looked over every item we brought in and made fair assessments on the condition and value. I could tell they really knew the retro gaming market inside and out.What impressed us most was the prices they offered. For games and systems that were still in good shape, they paid top dollar based on current market values. Even for more beaten up items, they still gave us a reasonable price. I didnt feel nickeled and dimed at all, as I always do at GameStop.The evaluation and sale process was smooth and efficient as well. We did not need to haggle or debate pricing - they just looked everything over, gave us a fair quote that we could accept or deny.Whether you have a huge classic gaming collection or just a few old relics, I highly recommend taking them in if youre looking to sell. Youll get honest evaluations and the best possible prices. We left with a fat wad of cash and the peace of mind that our treasured retro gaming goods are going to enthusiasts who will appreciate them. Cant ask for more than that!I cannot speak to the buying process but we walked around and looked at everything. When we win the lottery, we will be back to clean them out.

Amazing folks here. Fire and Ice generously supports a local Pokémon after school program with cards and supplies. The owner and employees are all great people who are immensely helpful. They host great weekly tournaments for various games, and are even pioneering their own. Couldnt recommend them more, would give 10 stars if I could.

Such a great game store. They have a large selection of video games spanning across most consoles. They also have a selection of great board games and unique art pieces to hang on the wall. I travel all over for work and check out local mtg on east coast and west. This place is by far the best on west coast I’ve been and is a tie for first with my favorite east coast place. They sold me a game that didn’t work but I wasn’t able to test it until 2 weeks after I bought it (after their exchange policy). I tested the game and it turns out it didn’t work, but I called them up and they replaced it, a week after the exchange period was over, for free! Decent place but the owner(Ryan) has some questionable business practices. He blocked my instagram account via his business after I responded to a question from a customer on his page. The question “What are the price on the OP06 booster boxes?” My answer, “$220, more than $100 over MRSP.” The prices for the products are posted freely on Bandai’s website for anyone to see but this scum bag doesn’t mind ripping off his customers and trying to hide it.

Fantastic shop with a large selection of games from era, genre, and collection with super helpful and friendly people. I visited today for the first time as our original Nintendo stopped working, so we brought it in for repair. In about 5 minutes they were able to determine it was probably just the connector pins inside were dusty. In another 2 minutes they showed me how to clean them, and all was working well again. And they did this all without even charging! I made up for it by buying a few games missing for the collection..

Was looking for place to play Magic: The Gathering. This store was listed on the event finder. Ever since first visit, Ive been coming back not only to play MTG, but also to buy games and Pokémon cards. This is definitely my choice of gaming store whenever I need something. They have a collection of games ranging from recent and widely known games to older and more obscure games. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Store has widest range of games Ive ever seen. This has become my go-to place for games and cards. They have the best selection of Pokemon cards Ive seen in the Roseville area. As someone who has just recently got back into collecting, the guys at Fire and Ice have been incredibly helpful.Ive both bought and sold from them and they have been super fair, insightful and professional. Found this place a few weeks ago and I never want it to go away. They deserve your business!First, the selection is massive and in such beautiful condition. Most all of their games look nearly brand new. I went back multiple times within the past few weeks, as they had so many games that I just couldn’t find at other locations. Just picked them up as I put cash to the side.Second, the place is huge and caters to loads of gamers—not just to video games. They have tables that can be used for hangouts and board games. They do meetups pretty frequently from what I hear. It just looks like a place with so much potential to be a hot spot for the local gaming community.Finally, and most importantly, the staff was awesome! Both kind and super knowledgeable, whoever is doing their hiring has found some really amazing people. Had the pleasure of speaking with Jesse, Alex, Blake, and Lee over these past few weeks, and felt like a regular from the very start with each of them! If there’s any other staff I haven’t gotten the pleasure of meeting yet, I’m sure they’re no different.This place is a 10/10 retro games store that I’d love to see turn into the hot spot for all things gaming in the Roseville/Rocklin area.

Highly suggest coming out to the shop if you play MTG, Pokemon, or any video games at all. They host weekly events for video games and tcgs but I come in for the TCG singles, I buy something every time Im here. The stock is insane and the staff is the best. Well worth the drive if you live outside the area too. The play space available is massive and the place is never empty, and the staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable on all topics. Not only is the place HUGE & covered in amazing artwork of your favorite games from over the years, but the staff is freaking great🤟 Lots of gaming tables for u and your buddies to play whatever game you fancy (D&D, etc). Old school game systems for sale (clean, working w/all cords etc). Cool merch, snack drinks n such, retro games from a variety of systems for a great price. They test the units beforehand but somehow the console I ended up with wouldnt boot once I got home. I returned to the store and they immediately started trying to diagnose the issue and offered me a refund since they guarantee working units. Amazing new storefront!!! We went to fire and Ice when it was in a smaller location and loved it then. Now, it’s in a brand new facility with so much room for all video games, board games, Pokémon, and other CCGs. The store offers trade in options, so my son loves coming in to trade his Pokémon cards. Their strategy tabletop games offerings are steadily expanding also, with a decent selection of BGG crowd pleasers. There is a long aisle of video games from original NES and on. The staff is also very friendly and no one is rushing you out the door. Come check it out, look at cards, play a game and hang out. This is a great addition to our Roseville community.

What a great store! Ive been collecting video games since the 90s, and this shop has, by far, the most impressive inventory Ive ever seen. They also give more than fair value on your trade-ins, which frankly makes bringing your stuff here a reasonable alternative to trying to sell it on your own. But the inventory! If you want higher-value games then youre definitely going to pay a premium here, but I found that more affordable games (say less than $50) were cheaper than what I see on eBay. A lot of things I could say about this place, and all of them are positive! I’ve been in a lot of retro game stores, and most of them I walk out of, either with nothing or just feeling ripped off. But here, I was greeted by a very friendly owner, and within seconds I found two games that I’ve seen online for $30-40 each, only to be $30 for both. It was the most organized and well kept store I’ve been into in a while; everything was sorted in a very sensible way, and almost every games is carefully and beautifully wrapped in plastic. This is light years ahead of GameStop or anything you can find in Roseville OR Rocklin. They have a massive collection of old games and cartridges, along with some rare stuff. The store doesnt even have a speck of dust ANYWHERE, it is massive, its easy to find the stuff you want because of how the store is layout, and the condition of every item they have is amazing. I got a Wii from this place and it was in good condition, only problem is that some of the controllers are scratched up from use.

I’ve been a game collector my whole life, been to several stores in the last decade and to stumble upon this place in my own backyard was a real treat. Selection is incredible and fair. It is heartening to here an owner say they don’t sell all the good stuff online as they want to get people in store THANK YOU. My last local store owner had the opposite approach and I swear I found better offerings at the thift store. Highly recommend checking this place out. All the games are extremely clean and clearly labeled as well. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, Lee is a great guy and looking forward to talkin games in the future. Ive been to the location twice and way better than most other Retro places. Prices are usually at a great deal the package comes well sealed and you can tell they care about the games they sell to you. They are fairly new (6-7 weeks of being open as of writing the review) so dont expect them to have every game of every generation very clean place with great variety.

I had seen just the very side of the building immediately thinking it was going to be tiny but when you walk in there the left side is an amazing mural of all these types of characters. The wide variety of consoles and games was huge, loved the customer service. Super glad they were happy to add to my new collection of Game Boy Sp games. Third time visiting this location and I have to say it’s the best experience at a combination video game/card shop!! The first time was for a pre-release event which was one of my first introductions to magic and while I was just observing I was very welcomed and the staff were incredibly nice! The second and third times were to obtain my own magic card packs and every time I’ve been there the staff have been both incredibly helpful and patient. The shop is truly a hidden gem filled with some great vintage and modern video games as well as Pokémon and Magic trading cards. Lee was very helpful behind the card counter. I’ve been having a heck of a time finding the issue with my N64 and hooking it up to an LCD TV. They thought a little out of the box and fixed the issue with a solution way easier and cheaper than what I had in mind. Customer service was a bright and shiny 10. I tried walking out of the store without a fix to my solution and the guys behind the counter were determined to help me. I almost brushed them off, but I actually just sat there and listened instead. After they saw my situation, they gave me a few steps of advice toward fixing the issue and now I’m playing one of my favorite games and systems from 20+ years ago.

I was so excited to learn this place existed that I had to come check it out. Super kind and friendly service from the time I entered until the time I left the store. Great selection for the different types of media I was looking for, everything is clean and organized. Super easy to browse. Left with a few DMG Gameboy games and an NES game, tested them as soon as I got home and everything works great. Picked up some interesting titles and classic titles were also readily available.
