It was a honor to perform here, as I heard it like never happens for someone like me (independent artist) so yea big deal! 🤩 Thank you sound engineer for a stress relieving sound check and stage setup. Thank you, Long Beach, for supporting and dancing along. Besides that, the staff are really cool and knowledgable with the items they have or wouldnt have in the store so you dont waste time, because the collection is so vast. This is the place for real record enthusiasts. They have everything that is worth having in a collection here.

I havent visited in 10 years, so this was more of a reunion, and it did not disappoint. They have a great selection of music and a great range of vinyl genres. I was shocked to see Kpop in stock. They have a lot of promos, memorabilia, local art prints, shirts, trinkets, pins, cassettes, and more! I recommend this place. They also host small shows and signings there. Its a very lovely and intimate experience for the artist and fans. If you like music, this is a good stop if youre in the area.😊

I was pretty stoked to check out this store so my partner and I popped over 5/15 around 4pm.Its a pretty off-putting experience to look over to say hello to the clerks, make eye contact with one (black hoodie, short brown hair) while trying to exchange pleasantries and have them be extremely visibly scared of your presence. (I can totally see how two queer middle aged women are terrifying, especially considering everyone else in the store was a teenage boy.)Its extra off-putting when said clerk just follows you and your partner around while trying to dig around.Maybe this is a store that is good for events but not so much for leisurely crate digging, especially if you dont fit the mold.

Probably the best record in SoCal. Extremely friendly staff with an amazing selection of records and CDs. They also host a bunch of cool in-store events. If you cant make it in, you can order from their website and get it shipped to you fast. Love this place!

I remember walking in this place a little over 3 years ago. It was early in the morning. They had just opened for the day. The sun was shining and the weather was cool. The track C-side off of the album Texas Sun was Playing over the sound system. Life was beautiful in that moment. Id like more people to experience this.

I happened into this wonderful record shop while walking around Long Beach looking at all the public art. The Flying Morrison is across the street. And a big, colorful piece on the side of the building called Dueces Bumblebeelovesyou. Inside the shop is an amazing collection of music including vinyls, cds, and cassette tapes, tee shirts, gift items, posters and a few really interesting books! So much to see, this place is like a work of art itself! Folks who worked there were helpful and had good energy. Ill definitely be back!

They Offered Me $42 For 10 Albums So I Didnt Sell Them To Them. Then This Nice Couple Was Checking The Albums Out And The Store Owner And Employees Told Me I Couldnt Show People My Albums In Front Of The Store. I Wasnt Going To Say Anything But..... I Could Show Whatever I Choose Because I Was Parked On The Street, Which is Public property. I Sold All Of The 300 Albums I Had For 213. I Would Have Given The Record Store For 200 If They Would Have Given Me A Decent Price. The 10 Albums Were All In Prestine Condition. Abby Road Capital Records, We Are The Beatles, U2, Rolling Stones.... Many More Greats. I Would Not Suggest Selling Your Used Albums Here....

Have you ever just walked into a store and got weird vibes? Well that’s how I felt walking into a predominantly white store where it felt very uncomfortable and unwelcoming and the staff there were very rude and hostile towards me when I would ask them questions about an item I was about to purchase. I think the employees are racist too. I’d never spend another dollar in the store even if it was the last music store in the world haha which Lowkey it is thanks to online business like Amazon they put small business they don’t care about their customers out of business. But I’m sure they don’t care because I’m just one customer and they care more about money than they care about showing respect and courtesy to their customers. I spent the over $300 in this store and they wouldn’t even give me a discount on a vinyl that was way cheaper online. Welp it’s all good because they just lost a customer because I’m just going to give my money to Amazon. Then the cashier wants to throw the you should support a small business lmfao. What does that got to do with me? They don’t care about the customer so why should I care about a small business. The customer is the one supporting the small business and you disrespect them with rude comments. They don’t care about me or my business. And if you think for a second they care about you then think again cause they don’t even care about themselves.

This is such a fun store, I’ve been here several times, it’s a perfect spot to go treasure hunting, especially if you love art and music. It is huge, let me tell u, this spot is just all tall ceilings and endless space n large windows..I bought incense today, butt you can spend days in here n never be bored. And if u do spend a lot of time, and get hungry, cafe Berlin is in the same space, door in between them open.This literally can be your staycation. Tons of fun collectibles, local / local writers spots, records, shirts, books, pins, cards...

So many great things to say about fingerprints! Great prices, great selection of records and cool contests and ticket giveaways for locals. Great staff! They have the best in-store events whether it’s autograph signings or bands playing. This record store cares about giving fans a real experience to interact with their favorite artists like no other SoCal record store ever does. They have great customer service and they’re also anti-flipper which is refreshing knowing a business stands against people buying limited items only to resell on the internet instead of getting them into the hands of real fans! Meeting Kid Cudi last week was awesome!

Updating my rating based on their recent email.---This is a review for the meet and greet experience with Kid Cudi. Purchased the album and waited 4 hours in line only to be turned away at the door because Kid Cudi left ☠️.We were asked to come back Tuesday to pick up our signed copies but Im not banking on that. My trust in both the artist and this store are broken.

They have a large selection of records located in an area with plenty of other shops and restaurants. After finishing breakfast around the corner I casually walked in to search for what I could find on a lazy Sunday morning. What I found was a few King Crimson records to add to the collection.

The rock music is extensive the prices are affordable the guy with the red beard and the lady with the black hair were very helpful to me.Their is music every where. The clothes bags and other music related items are available. Theirs are listening stations the rock and other genres are in the main room where the front door is. The jazz rap hip hop r& b side is in another room. There are about 4 rooms of music one has a piano in it.

If you grew up listening to your favorite artists with a CD and vinyls, then is the place!!! I have been shopping here since I was 21 and years past, I’m a mom now and I introduced the history of music to my daughter. They have street meter parking. The store is organized sorted by CDs, cassette tapes, DVDs, vinyls, vintage t-shirts, posters, etc. they sell incense sticks, stickers and local artists jewelry which is a plus. The staff is friendly and helpful. Love this place!!

One or two members of their staff can be really judgy and snobby when I go to buy music there. Sorry Im not buying all metal stuff dude, I have my own tastes and I dont need your attitude while trading records in or checking out. They made me feel unwelcome to the store, maybe bc what I was buying was too mainstream?? Really makes me consider avoiding the place all together, but its big and close by, making it really convenient. Other places youll have the staff talk to you about what you bought and recommend stuff or say which tracks they like, this place just made me feel bad about my purchases. Its not even that mainstream of stuff either lol. Anyway, hope their staff gets an attitude adjustment, will be popping into some other record stores around Long Beach to get a feel for them.

Do not order from this store. I ordered a RSD vinyl from their shop in April and I got an order confirmation and no emails stating that it had been canceled. I assumed I had the product I order and waited. Over a month went by and no updates so I tried to use the contact section on their site to inquire about my order. They never responded to both of my messages. I had to resort to using social media DM to reach out to get help. After taking way too long to check they told me that they sent me an email stating they didn’t in fact have the vinyl I ordered and that my order was canceled. I never received that email not in my spam or anything. Highly unprofessional and it seems like other people have left reviews stating they don’t ship their online orders. Buyer beware.

A true Mom and Pop Style place where they have the most obscure selection including vinyl rare prints and local writers. They are willing to carry unsigned, local artists, too. This is my favorite spot, to pick out unique gifts, for the musicians in my family and family friend circles!!! They have the best small shows, for an intimate setting with some major acts. I love coming here, but struggle to leave empty handed. The last time I was here, I bought vinyl record cleaner and socks: both necessities for musically-inclined life. My toes have great style and my records are clean, ready for playing.

This one of the last great record stores. Lots of music. Huge selection. Amazing In Store Concerts. The staff are always helpful, and are extremely knowledgeable. They really care. The owner puts on great shows. Ive been coming here for years, to all of their (both?) locations. Now they have even more books, more vinyl, more t-shirts, more of everything than ever. Its got everything: new and used CDs, vinyl, tapes, movies, books, incense, snacks, guitar and camera straps, art, and an (almost) incorporated coffee house, yet it still doesnt seem cluttered. Its truly independent. Great people, from the owner to the cashiers. Plus it is a fantastic live music venue. Go there!

Recently an indie store only version of a vinyl record I really wanted was only distributed to a certain number of stores. None of the local ones had it and I called Fingerprints and they had one. They shipped it to me and I got it a week later. THANKS SO MUCH. You guys rule!

Don’t buy from them online. My order never came and they don’t answer their email and they ghosted me on Instagram. Retrospekt has similar inventory as them and they are actually responsive! As well, they have in-store performances by many popular/indie artists once or twice a month. Oh and they buy used vinyl. They give you a pretty good fair price for them, as well.Updated Review(Post COVID 02/23):Came to sell some vinyl again. Arrived around 6:20pm(They close at 7pm). The cool associate in the vinyl department gladly took a look to buy them. Even though, they tend not to buy an hour before closing, he didnt mind. And because I had only about 4/5 records to sell. He was prompt and gave me more than a fair price for them. So if you have crates and crates full of vinyl try to come in early to avoid coming back again. I wish I could give more than five stars. First time coming here after they moved to 4th St. The records are now on the right and at the back! I like that they kept the rock genre separate from the rap, electronic, r&b, etc. Nice and organized. Had a little brain fart finding a particular artist on vinyl and flagged down a salesman. He immediately checked the computer stock and escorted me to the area where the record was. Very happy to find what I was looking for ( and for cheaper too) Even through Covid times, I can at least know a place where I can get away from it all with a big selection of records and go home happy with some new tunes!

This shop is the perfect size. Its not insanely huge like those 2 in Hollywood. The employees are very nice and approachable. They are very knowledgeable and willing to help. Theyre also big enough to have what youre looking for. When I need records, I drive down from Pasadena cause Fingerprints is the best.

Great larger size store with really decent selection. Have some nice uncommon albums on the walls. They occasionally have bands play in the store and there is a coffee shop adjoining the store. They sell art, clothing, movies as well as some odd and ends as well as vinyl and CDs. Staff isnt overly friendly or all up in your business but they seem knowledgeable and want to help you if you have a question. They are nice and they arent going to bug you while you browse. Just ask someone with a piercing if you need help. If they dont have the solution, they will point you to another person with a piercing. They gotchu baby. Great shop, great people and well worth the trip.

Good new/used record store with chain store vibe. The pricing on the used vinyl can be a bit much but I get it, they have rent to pay. Fingerprints also has books, shirts, kitsch, and other items you would typically find in a head shop like incense.They often have big name bands come and play for releases, do special other events and participate in Record Store Day. It can get crowded and busy.

This review is for their online ordering.If you want to get records here, go to the store. DO NOT DARE order anything on pre-sale because its a high chance you either will get it really late OR not at all. Thats exactly what happened to both my pre-orders. The first wasnt shipped until 2 weeks after release (and after 3 calls to check for status). The last one was never received. I called twice for status and they said it was late. On my 3rd call, i was told they were going to check, then i received an email that my order was cancelled because it was lost in shipment (they never send shipping information/tracking, either). Im really disappointed since their in-store staff is really great and their selection is usually top notch. They just need to get with a more reliable online distributor.

My first visit to Fingerprints, I was looking for some old school 45s from the 60s & 70s, fortunately they had a small treasure trove. I found Respect by Aretha Franklin along with many more, Im hosting an alumni event soon where well be playing music from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Im sure Ill be going back again, even though, some of these records were music industry giveaways back in the day which is now being sold. I appreciate being able to get them, what music I had from that era that I didnt lose in my divorce, I lost in a cross country move. Thanks Fingerprints for saving my memories ❤.

I love this place! I have been digging in the crates here since the mid 90s! I have found limited edition LPs, CDs that were only released overseas, and hard to find posters, movies, and collectible concert T-shirts.You can also listen to used CDs before you buy them. There are several old school discmen set up around the store for you to listen to CDs.This is gem for all music lovers. I live about 40 miles away, and I still find time to visit Fingerprints at least once a month. Frequent live concerts too.

Fingerprints is a large music shop on 4th street in Downtown Long Beach. It is snugged in a building with Berlin Bistro, and mostly consists of new and used CDs, LPs and movies.This store has a great selection, there are plenty of record stores in the area to choose from, but if you are looking for a new release this is the place to go. They also have a plethora of bargain bins for both LPs and CDs which is where I do most of my digging. There is a nice level of quality control, even the records I pick up for a buck are still in decent shape and quite playable.In addition to all your standard music offerings, you can also browse through some books in the back corner. The shop also has its share of trinkets and music related goodies, such as buttons and stickers. The staff is always very friendly, and the shop is spacious so you hardly find yourself in other peoples business (always a problem in smaller record shops!).So if you are a music fan, take a stop down to Fingerprints on 4th. Take a swing into the bistro next door as well and treat yourself to a coffee or light snack, then pop across the street to the new parklet and bathe in the sun!
