This hospital has changed so much since I had my two kids here, much dirtier now, main nurse that checks you in she’s elderly has an attitude from the start tried to argue with me that 37 weeks is not premature I told her idk I’m just here to get checked and she kept going and going didn’t feel like an emergency at all. She was the only one checking people in so this hospitals clearly understaffed. There was this poor lady that was having her first child I felt so bad bc she was also given an attitude while checking her in her water was broken and she was in pain and they didn’t even let her husband come in with her which I had mines with me twice 8 years ago! I went in for contractions which she said she didn’t see noneon the monitor and checked my cervix barely checked it right she said it was closed when I was in a different hospital 3days ago and they said I was 1 cm with contractions. Lastly they had a screaming lady next to me who admitted she taken drugs and didn’t have prenatal care since she got out of jail. She was screaming in agony and they were being so dismissive of her feelings. Old lady nurse rolled her eyes while she was screaming. She was 5 centimeters and they had her dealing with the pain so sad. Not coming back here rather have my baby somewhere else!! Didn’t even get water old lady nurse said I have to drink water at home not in the hospital.

This JanuaryAt first I had my doubts about this place. I know its not the best looking place and the waiting times are long but in the end I was given the best care by the nurses and doctors here. I understand there is a shortage of staff and due to them being overwhelmed they still had a good and positive attitude and did the best they could. My baby and I were treated well and observed during our stay the only thing I did not like were the covid rules, which my husband was not allowed to leave the room at all or he couldnt go back in the room at all and no visits were allowed even though during the tour they had said we were allowed 1 visitor. One thing I reccomend is bringing snacks, drinks and food to eat for your hospital stay. I wish I could remember all of the nurses names that helped me when delivering my baby. I highly recommend signing up for their first 5LA program and shields program, they have been so much support and gave us so many items for our babys arrival including a car seat. ❤ Thank you all !

I recently welcomed my first grandson into the world and I would love to recommend your hospital, my daughter had a few complications and so she had to have a c section and all of the nurses where so nice to her they helped in every way and they took care of all of us very well including me and the baby and his father. If you are a religious person they pray every day which is important when youre going through scary issues would recommend to anyone.

Everything was fine the nurses were helpful all was well until the discharge process it seemed as though we were being pushed out of the hospital the woman conducting the discharge didn’t want to explain anything so I just reread the print outs given I was told I’d get assistance getting to the car after a very brutal c section but she just sat at her desk ignoring me and my doula we couldn’t believe everything went so smoothly until meeting her even when my doula brought it to her attention at the desk she just nonchalantly brushed her off but I can’t say it’s st Francis hospital’s fault i feel my nurses were great during my stay a few of their names were Mrs Stephanie I can’t recall her # used the others were grace 7921 Jackie 7925 or 35 but they really helped during my visit my only downside was the fast talking get out discharge process and lady in charge of the discharging but the hospital was great I’m still happy with my choice to deliver with st Francis hospital.

Went to get checked, baby was not moving as much, ultrasound technician was rude, told me that everything was fine with baby and that was an emergency only hospital. She said I was not going to see a doctor unless there is something wrong with me or the baby. Every hospital has a doctor who goes into your room and explains what they found good or bad. This hospital is practicing very bad patient procedures.

2nd time I deliver a kid there. Both times I’ve been treated great! This time it was a better experience due to the fact that I had c section, the nurses were great with me. They also made sure my partner had food as well. Nicu nurses have been great with my baby.

The absolute worst birthing experience. Would not recommend this hospital. Please if you can go to Long Beach Memorial or somewhere else. From the nursing staff to the doctor, extremely unprofessional and unsanitary. The nursing staff was absolutely rude and dismissive. The service was such low quality. The room had blood from a previous patient. I wasn’t given a wheelchair to carry my baby out of the hospital & was forced to walk out instead. Don’t go here ladies, If you can choose somewhere else.

So this is my expierence, I had an appt on Monday July,24,2023 for a scheduled C-section at 7:30am and was told to arrive 2 hours before my appt. So my husband and I left home at 4:50am and was there at 5:10am. I checked in and waited in the living room around 1 hour or a little more to get called inside by a nurse and set me up to start the procedure. Ones I got called, there was this older African American lady all in a rush hurrying me up and stuff, well I went to change and there were other two nurses trying to take my blood out and put the IV and they both failed and poke me severe and bruised me. Finally the old lady came back and she was able to do it. After all that set, nurse came in stating my c-section was gonna be delayed because they was so busy that day. Finally at 8:40am they took me to the surgery room and everyone was super friendly and nice especially Bryan making me comfortable cus my anxiety was about to eat me lol. Doctor bernardita and the other male doctor was so good with my c section. Loved them. My baby was born and had to be in the NICU for 2 days 😞 due to low blood sugar, and was throwing up everytime he was fed. So they had to put an IV on my poor baby😢 after 2 days they brought back my baby to the room and was okay after. 🙏🏼. All nurses that I had during my stay were so friendly except 2. One of the rude ones was Regina and couldn’t get the other lady name. But the top ones I loved the most was Cecile, Grace and Rita, thank you beautifuls so much for taking care of me and being so gentle😊 I had another nurse pull out my catheter and it hurted so bad she did it rough 😒I was disscharged after 4 days in there. Discharge does take quite a bit long but it’s okay. The days I was there, nasty food and didn’t like at all (wouldn’t expect much from a hospital tho). Had only 1 good meal and that was the breakfast that had toast, breakfast meat patty,and a corn bread 🤤.

I gave birth on February 12, 2023 had the most AMAZING doctors and nurses delivering a healthy baby BOY. Very caring anything needed was handled in a timely manor. From the time of admissions to my discharge date the baby and I were very well taken care of. I have no complaints about my birthing experience at Saint Francis Medical Center. Would definitely trust Saint Francis labor and delivery team with any other future pregnancies.

Deliver my baby on Jan 29 2023 my treatment here was really amazing. They treated me with kindness and respect. They helped me out so much with my baby since she was sent to Nicu after birth. They gave her a great care and the nurse helped me out so much. Thank you.

Almost everyone in this place was nice except a nurse whose name is Linda or Lisa, she was an older Asian women. I told her when she was checking my cervix to stop it because she was very rough and that I didn’t want her to continue . She didn’t listen to me and continued to proceed. When I got her wrist she was mad at me telling me to not grab her wrist but I had told her that I said to not touch me anymore that she was very rough. I don’t know who to complain to, but what she did was unacceptable if a patient is telling her to not touch her anymore especially with something a sensitive as touching her cervix to see how much she is dilated and she continues to that’s not right.

Im giving this place 1 star cause otherwise I cant write a review but it doesnt even deserve 1 star. My daughter has been in induced labor since 4pm and its now 10 40pm shes not in a room because theres no rooms available. I havent been able to see her and be by her side because shes not in a room. She is a first time mom and needs the fathers support as well as mine. She finished the first IV bag and when they put up the second one the nurses where too busy chatting that never started the second bag which has delayed her labor. This is by far the worst hospital to deliver a baby had I seen the horrible reviews I would have never allowed her to come to this place. Its just ridiculous that you guys dont have enough rooms to keep women in labor comfortable and able to hold their loved ones hand when they need it the most!!....... Its now 2 05 am and shes still waiting for a room still havent been able to see her and she keeps getting passed up because other women get the room she is supposed to get. This is unacceptable!...... Update to my review! Now the security guards beat up my son in law they push him out of the building and take him into a room and start beating on him I didnt think it was possible for things to get worse but I guess this place is really something.

I was hesitant to have my baby here based on the reviews but oh my I was surprised by the outstanding service provided at the Family Life Center. Since I arrived the nurses were great, once I got admitted into my room to deliver my baby I had two nurses Lourdes and Susie were beyond helpful. Lourdes knowledge and guidance in the delivery process were amazing and the techniques used help me and my baby to have an awesome experience. Thank you Lourdes & Susie! The postpartum nurses cant emphasized how amazing they all are, I didnt have to ask for any help because they were there all the time checking on us, all I can say is thank you for the great experience we had at the Family Life Center. Finally, I will like to thank all the nurses that follow up once I was home for checking on us and answer all the questions I had.

04/03/22I hate to be this person I really do, but when it comes to babies as a concerned mother ... Coming from a child development background ... The only reason I left two stars was because of ONE RN. ONE, her name is Krystal. She was the ONLY nurse that actually helped me, kept me updated whenever she had a chance, came to check in on me & the baby pre labor & post labor.But let me tell you...I DO NOT recommend this hospital to anybody. Off top since the second I got checked into observation I noticed more than 97% of the nurses are selective as to WHO & HOW they choose to help you. I was waiting for a room in observation for hours, they told me to stay because my sac had been leaking. At se point a nurse let me know that a room was about to become available they were gonna transfer me there as soon as they cleaned it out.... BUT another women came in a few hours after me she was one centimeters less dilated than I was.....and they gave her the room. When i asked the nurse that came in for the following shift (Claudette) about the room I had been mentioned before she told me theres no rooms available and they proceeded to put that women that came in after me to the room they were supposed to give me...... My mother kept calling on the phone asking because I let her know about the room they mentioned to me.....and i had already been there for hours and my mom wanted to be there to support me but since it was an observation room youre not allowed guests.......i didnt get even get given a pillow for comfort and they kept getting upset with me cause the baby monitor kept losing my daughters heartbeat....... Which was hurtful because they wouldnt even come check on me of i needed anything....just to get upset with me about the baby monitor.

I actually gave birth here couple years ago . And i thought I’d be treated the same. But unfortunately, I think the staff is so tired and over worked they just do what needs to be done. I understand you don’t go in to get treated like a baby nor be treated special but to feel like you’re bothering them is the worst feeling. You definitely don’t feel welcomed but when you under staffed I’m sure that’s all they can offer. Luckily, they let it be known they are very under staffed and over worked so I did my best not to take a personal but it make me feel horrible when I was there. But there was one nurse. Lisa. She was good to me. Lisa thank you . If you have an emergency I say go but if you can go somewhere else, I would recommend that better, saint Francis nurses are under staffed, I say give them a break .

I had my daughter here in February. If you are not used to advocating for yourself go somewhere else because they will completely forget/ and neglect you and your needs. I only had one nurse help me with breastfeeding and it was out of sheer coincidence because she was my night nurse. The other nurses don’t care and have you give your baby a bottle rather than to take the time to help, in total I had 5 nurses and all of them were not it. When I did speak up about needing a lactation consultation and basic things like needing more diapers they constantly forget and take almost a ridiculous amount of time to get to you. I got lucky to have 5 minutes with a nurse that did care and quickly helped me with breastfeeding on my last day there while she was doing the rounds of dropping off breakfast if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have had the tips and tricks to get the hang of breastfeeding.

3 stars because the intake lady, lady that had me sign forms, lady that did my ultrasound and the lady from the lab that drew my blood were amazing I would give them all 5 stars but regarding my experience with the actual nurse that was attending to me once I got inside I just couldn’t believe the treatment I was getting. I was sent over to L&D because my OB said blood pressure was high and I needed to have labs and my blood pressure checked for a while so the nurse is trying to draw my blood and I’m not going to deny that most of the times I have labs drawn it’s a challenge for whatever reason but I understand and I didn’t complain because I am used to needing to be sticked a few times in different places.... anyhow this lady complained and moaned and groaned the whole time she was trying to get blood and was just very unprofessional about it. She was sticking me while the blood pressure monitor was going off and just didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. Eventually someone from the actual lab came upstairs and was able to get blood but the difference between the 2 were night and day. After being there about an hour plus the 4 hour wait before I got inside I asked if I can have some water because I was really thirsty and she literally said with an attitude that she will see because she is by herself and understaffed!!! I didn’t get any water until I was being discharged around 1 am!!! I wish I knew her name but she is African American older and needs to be fired. She even spoke to the ultrasound and lab ladies like they were beneath her that’s insane. Please hire someone else

I came to get induced, went from 7:00am till midnight with contractions as soon as I walked in they put a catheter and didnt let me walk at all. I was very uncomfortable. I asked for an epidural at midnight. It wasn’t put on correctly because I never got numb. I felt pain the entire night and was miserable. The nurses wouldn’t come frequently and would look upset if I called them. I told them that I wasn’t numb right away and they said “it works different for everyone”. I wouldn’t dilate more than 3cm, after 24+ hours. I eventually got a c section after 35 hours of failed induction, and the spinal didn’t work either. I felt them cutting me, they ended up dosing me with others things that I kinda blacked out and didn’t get too see my baby till almost 2 hours later when i woke up. They used a bigger needle or something that liquid was leaking from my spine and going to my head and I had the worst pain (worse than contractions) for days and I couldn’t even hold my son or do anything for him. I had to get a blood patch done, (blood taken out and shoved into my back like an epidural to cover the leaking holes) I was there for almost 6 days. When I got home I was so traumatized and depressed from everything. Not being able to bond with my baby was very sad I felt useless. Some nurses were nice though. Specifically Shirin she was nice and caring and also another young short Asian one with a pony tail. I wish I remembered her name.

I recently delivered at st Francis. I am a first time parent so you can imagine how nervous I was. All the nurse staff helped put my mind at ease. They were all very friendly and helpful at all times. I am very happy with how they treated me and my fiancée as well as my newborn son. Thank you to each and every one of them

Im really surprised with the amount of positive reviews here and its making me wonder if my bad experience with this place was somehow related to the stricter guidelines related to Covid and the reduced staff but I dont really know.I was scheduled for a c-section at this location towards the end of November, it was set for 9:30am and I was told to arrive by 7:00am for covid testing. I arrived at 6:30am. Initially they placed me in a waiting room and explained that I would be placed in a room and covid testing would be done as soon as they finished screening/whatnot with another patient that was ahead of me.At approximately 7:30am I was moved to a room without having had the covid test done, noting that the test takes two hours to complete. After I was placed in a room the nurse seemed unsure about the timing of the c-section, apparently they had no information about my scheduled c-section in their computer at all. There was information about a visit that I had made five days prior, due to being involved in a minor car accident, but the information about that visit also included incorrect information about my previous pregnancy (such as what kind of incision I had, the gender of my baby, etc.) and, though they had done tests on that visit, they had provided no information of any of the tests they had performed aside from stating that they had performed them. They sorted that out and came to the realization that I hadnt yet been tested for covid, before we could move further into the scheduled c-section I had to be tested which took an hour or two more from that point to begin.It was apparent early on that the c-section wouldnt be taking place at the scheduled time but no one was able to give an approximate time for when it would occur, they didnt know. Everyone involved in this was friendly and as helpful as they could be, given the circumstances, but it was nearly 5:00pm before my child was born. The c-section went well and there were no complications.From that point on several of the nurses that I interacted with seemed genuinely unhappy to be there, it didnt always feel personal but sometimes it did. Initially one of the nurses described my baby as miserable, she could have been saying that he was in a miserable mood but it came across as if she were saying that he, himself, was miserable. Also, at one point a nurse was preparing a rolling bed for my son, my fiance, who was holding our son, asked if he needed to put our baby in it for them and they replied with an irritated tone I dont care what you do with him, hes your baby..I experienced bleeding the night after I had my c-section and it unnoticed until morning. There were claims that it had been checked throughout the night, maybe it had, but I have no recollections of that and I was awake for the majority of it. Everything turned out okay.Honestly, I could write more but Im done with it. I had a bad experience here and if you choose this place I hope you have a much, much better one. You deserve that.

St Francis has the best nurses! This was the 3rd time delivering my baby at st Francis and everyone there is always so helpful and understanding. They make you feel welcomed. The nurses were always there when I needed something or wasnt feeling well. Around the clock service.

The doctors that delivered my baby by c-section really was rough taking him out I’m all bruised up and really sore they made a few disrespectful comments that was uncalled for and this never happened before with doctor Henry which is who I asked for and who was supposed to deliver my baby and the anesthesiologist didn’t have any real concern when I kept saying I was feeling ill they had no real concern when I said I was having trouble and major pain but my nurses Leslie and dotty was truly upstanding and amazing they showed true concern for me and my baby they actually helped me and I give them a five star review and a over all ten I love them but the doctors I will be filling a complaint against them and the anesthesiologist normally I with my other two that was delivered here never had to go home with medicine or all bruised up never had sharp stabbing pain or my c-section wound so poorly bandage and not to mention the doctor never came to check on me after like my other times with doctor Henry he came and seen me several times with both of my children he delivered this was my worst experience I’ve had here and if I was to ever have another child I will not be going her I will be going to Long Beach which is where my Obgyn wanted me to go but I wanted doctor Henry cause he’s truly an amazing doctor and has true concern and care about his patients I’m just truly hurt and disappointed by they actions this time and felt like they only treated me this way cause of the color of my skin which I know a lot of people will say is untrue but black women have the highest mortality rate in child birth and no one showing concern cause we must want meds but check my records I’ve never not once asked for help or pain meds with any pregnancy prior

Lets start with Lizzette at the front, my wife has been here since 7am it is now 12pm. Patients have gone inside and have left out continuously back to back while My wife and others have been waiting all morning. This has to be the most horrible experience ever. I will be making a bigger report, just thought Ill start here. All supervisors on shift should be interviewed as to why the duties of this Hospital isnt being fulfilled. Worst services, you have people wondering around the campus, and not every staff far as I can see from the outside, are wearing masks. This Hospital doesnt know how to be ran, the producers here need better practice as well. Lizzette at the front, handing out masks with no gloves on.

I wouldn’t even give this place a star I got induced here they gave me so many medications and the nurse broke my water by “ accident” she said “ OOPS” so many wrong things and caused me to get an emergency c section after everything I have my son I can hear the nurses chatting outside and laughing so loud when it’s 1am 2am 3am 4am etc !! Very unprofessional the nurse looked bothered when I wanted her to help me to hold me while getting contractions and getting the epidural all the nurses very unprofessional except for one she would actually come in the room quietly and helped me.

I’m not gonna lie. I’ve read many negative reviews about this hospital and people have told me to give birth at another hospital. I took the chance and gave birth there. It was a GREAT EXPERIENCE. Everyone always has different experiences so you can’t always believe everything people say.

I gave birth to my baby boy in this place...what i did not like was i came in with some contractions and all they keep on telling me that i was dehydrated...i keep on telling them that i Felt fluid coming out and They just said oh ok ...later a doctor came in and check me and told i was ok and just told me i was dehydrated and send me home...when i got home my contractions started to come strong that i Almost Felt down the stairs... I went back and they told me I was 8 cm with High blood pressure due to my preclumsia...( P.S Ive already told them that I haded preclumsia in my 1st birth and also with this birth)p.s.s( It also shows on my folder record)the nurse and doctor that Help me before Werent there anymore... Another nurse and another doctor helped me out.....so they took me to my room and some nurses where very kind and other not so much...during my visit it was clean and like i said some frienly nurses and doctors...other then that i guess it was ok...my baby boy is now 4 i really dont know how they are Doing now...

I had my oldest son in this hospital 12 years ago I really liked the nurses were very nice they attended me very well, I just had my baby last month I decided to go back to this hospital and I had a good delivery well attended I really appreciate everyone for helping me out I recommend this hospital to anyone specially right now with the issue we are going through COVID they are really careful everything is nice and clean.

Just had my perfect baby girl at St Francis. So thankful to every single nurse and Dr on staff for a great delivery and recovery experience. Special shout out to Yazmin, Elizabeth, Dr Troutman and my birthing team for all their encouragement, coaching, and bringing our sweet girl into the world. Also shout out to Cecile, Laura, and all the nurses from recovery.. sorry the names are slipping my mind but everyone was pleasant and helpful. And finally thank you to Ruth, the lactation consultant, for sharing her knowledge and guidance with us. Bless you all.

The worst hospital I have ever known. My sister has a whole day and no one pays attention to her, the nurses are very gesticulating and they dont even let her go to the bathroom, they put a tray for her to urinate and they leave her for hours between her urine. Im desperate because they dont give you news about anything. A friend told me that her baby died there due to their negligence. I want to take my sister out and take her to another hospital but I dont know how to go about it. I only communicate with her on her cell phone since they dont let her in to see her and they tell her that they dont know where her doctor is. What kind of hospital is this by Dio. DONT RELIEVE YOURSELF HERE PLEASE FIND SOMETHING BETTER🙏🙏🙏🙏
