I should have known from the start that this was going to be a scam. Both women that I talked to when I first called were extremely pushy. I did the document services deal where they do your paperwork, you deal with the court.I am now filling a statement with BBB and my bank for fraud.I paid 1150 to have them provide me paperwork to start a court case. I filled out a ton of paperwork and got back two pages which I was directed to take to the court to file. It took forever to get the other party served, and in the process, I was emailing my case manager the whole time. Two months go by and after many emails and phone calls that were never returned, I finally get an email that the email I am trying to send to is not a valid email anymore. It took me an additional two weeks to find out that the person was either let go or quit.I was told I would be provided with a second set of paperwork that would be the order that the judge was to sign.I have tried many times to call the company, and speak to my new case manager, Jeff Lightfoot. I told him I needed the next set of paperwork so I can acquire a court date. to which he told me I would just need to go talk to them to set one up. The lady at the courthouse explained I needed the order. I tried to call a bunch more times and emailed him multiple times with zero response. I finally emailed him and said I need a refund since the agreement was not withheld and I was not provided with all the paperwork I paid for. I today received an email back that they have done their side of the work, and I sent me back the agreement that states all sales are final blah blah blah, even though in said agreement it states that (THEY WILL PROVIDE ALL NESSASARY PAPERWORK). To top it all off, Ive been told they are closing and will no longer be working with me. I am demanding a refund for this scam, and will be sharing this with the BBB. I want my $1150 back.oh, for the record, I have saved all the emails where I was told what all paperwork I would be provided with (Which I have not) and the emails where he state they will no longer be working with me due to closing.whatever you do, DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY. Now I need my money back.

I had a decent experience. Though I used the services a few years back. I was guided in the proper direction and definitely did my own homework and research coupled with their professional knowledge, which made my life and decision making, easier. The reason I give 4 stars was because of the response time. The response time wasnt terrible, wasnt great either, it was above average, but everything else was great. I cant even remember the person I dealt with, but I was pleased with the services. The guy was personable and listened well.

Everyone at Family Court Direct did their best to help me in a situation I had no clue how to get through. Im now getting joint custody of my daughters due to their help. If youre in a tight situation with money and need someone to put your trust in to guide you, do the proper paperwork, and consult you before you walk into the courtroom. Family Court Direct is that team. They prepared me to be my own lawyer for a fraction of the price to hire a lawyer and everything was so easy and smooth. Thank you Family Court Direct! There is so much more to say but I have a visit with my daughters.

In my desperation I found Family Court Direct for a legal help with my child support case. They charge me $1,150.00 to start my case, then $120.00 for a membership and $39.00 per month. This was only to fill out something documents which I could do it myself.They never checked the status of my case, nor the motions or anything else.3 months later they send me the paperwork to bring it to the court and when I got there the court employee told me that the case was closed and didnt receive any paperwork,and told me that I need a legal representation not a company from another State.Adding that the communication wasnt good because they never answered my phone calls so I had to leave a voice message every time.Finally I called again and I was able to speak with someone and I asked for my money back because their services were insufficient for my case.They told me that I signed a contract (contract wich doesnt have my name correctly nor my initials) I dont use them I will loose my money.I think this is unprofessional and this company shouldnt being outside taking advantage of fragile and lack of legal knowledge of persons.

Once I paid the $159 for self help, the case coordinator will not call me back. I was finally able to get a hold of customer support. I was told that I had a new case coordinator. I was given her number and left a message for her to call me. Still no call from anyone. I just want my money back. Not sure what the problem is with them. Now I am trying to figure out how to cancel the membership. They do not make it easy. Please, just refund my money.

I would not recommend this service. I cancelled as soon as I paid the $159 after being told about the additional fees it would cost to get started on my case. I think thats why they charge you upfront and refuse to refund you. I was charged an additional $39 and called to see what was going on and in spite of them doing absolutely nothing for me i was told there was no refunds. I then stated that I needed to get something for the money spent and was told that my membership wouldnt be cancelled and whoever was on my case would call in which they didnt. I then recieved an eemail stating my membership was cancelled. I think this business is shady and to anyone reading this considering using them I would look elsewhere

I am reporting this company to the federal trade commission. If you read this please follow my suit and report them also. I was specially told I would pay $150 and have access to documents for a monthly fee of $40. When I spoke to the next person that stated it would be MORE.She also had the audacity to ask me “how much can you afford” I was immediately offended. I will afford services based off what I need and that was access to the online documents. They couldn’t even give me legal advice. I have been told they will listen to the call and if I was informed it was 40 monthly, I would be refunded. It’s need 5 business days and I have not been contacted, so I’m reporting them.

Overall they did a good job at getting my papers together. It was really frustrating because all correspondence was done through email which made it difficult to get the information across. The fee for the consultation wasnt worth it. Had I known that going through them wouldnt be cheaper than going to a law firm for a face to face consultation with a lawyer I would have chosen to not use their service. Had I known all of this before paying for the service I would have gone with someone else.

I would have given no stars but that wasn’t an option. I feel very taken advantage of by this scam, they preyed upon my desperation to see my grandson and I was an emotional wreck and he assured me they would help me. I said I didn’t have much money and was looking for pro bono attorney. It wasn’t explained to me that the $159 plus the $39 a month basically got me to the same website I had been on. They didn’t even download the documents I needed but sent me the link to where I was stuck at not knowing which documents I needed. To get that info out of them would’ve cost $1000 or $5000. Instead he took advantage of my emotional state and collected my money and then sent my to someone who sent me the link. Quite the scam they have going here. FYI if you need legal help call when you have had time to collect your self and call your local courthouse for free! If you have the extra $1000 or $5000 you can do way better than this company.

Unfortunately, this company SCAMS people. This review will be long because I want to describe their business model transparently so no one else is fooled hopefully. Initially, they offer you a Legal Access Plan ($120) and one-month membership for a total of $159. Although they falsely tell you that paying for this membership will allow you to hire a lawyer from their network at a discounted price, in reality you are passed to a Case Evaluator who gives you three options. Option 1 - pay another $100 and they will send you the forms you need to file on your own. However, you can find these forms online for free or ask at your local court so you are really paying $259 ($159 + $100) to have someone else google and find the forms for you. Option 2 - contact a lawyer in their network. But they wont tell you who the lawyers are or how many lawyers are in their network until AFTER you pay another $100. So you are forced to pay $259 to get a list of unknown lawyers (maybe 1, maybe 3, maybe 5 who knows?) whose qualifications you cannot evaluate until after you pay. By the way, a reputable company would be proud to disclose the identity of the attorneys in their network, but your Case Evaluator will say he doesnt have access to that information so cant tell you. Option 3 is the option they try to push you into--the most expensive one. It costs around $1250 and involves an unknown person like a paralegal or other non-attorney filling out legal forms for you and possibly writing a brief with legal sounding words to support your motion. They will falsely tell you family court judges only rely on the documents so you dont need a lawyer. But, if you fall for this and hire this unknown person, good luck finding out what this persons qualifications are, what his/her educational background is, and--if they mess up--youre out of luck, because you file the document in your name--their companys name is not on it--and the company has already pocketed your money. So the essential goal of this company is to get you to pay $1250 to have an unknown paralegal or other non-attorney fill out forms for you and possibly write a brief for you. Given all the fraud indicators with this company, it is very likely that many of the positive reviews on this site are fake. Buyer beware. Hopefully with this info you can make the decision that is best for you all. Good luck.

I was very optimistic about getting help with this company. The initial consult and sign up process was very good. They had me incredibly excited that we would find success using their process. Needless to say, every time I or my fiancé called with a question Jessica was either at lunch (mind you these are very random time of day calls), or rude as if we were being bothersome. The custody complaint was written very well and professionally though the child’s birthdate was wrong on everything. They told us the completely wrong process for filing and now we have to take an entirely different route. I do not think they look deeply into custody laws based in specific states. when I called to tell her we had the wrong paperwork and they told us we could not file in our county she told me she’d touch base with the legal team and send the new paperwork right away. We are going on 2 weeks now and I’ve received nothing nor heard a word from them. They seem to like to drag things out beyond the monthly payment date so they can keep charging you just one more time. Needless to say, we were essentially robbed and now know we could have filed more easily on our own and avoided the financial strain it’s put on our family. Avoid this company at all costs!

If your future ex and you are agreeable to the divorce or separation. Absolutely do the paperwork together or even make the petition out yourself.If there is contention and hostility. If the spouse is trying to take your child away. You need to get a lawyer.My future ex was not interested in doing paperwork but more interested in taking my daughter away from me. Would give negative 5 stars if I could. Very misleading and documentation was late, paid for this service for nothing! Was told only way to get a lawyer was to pay over $1000, which i did and then learn you only get legal professionals . Paid an extra $200 to expedite the process, all for nothing. Had to ask at least twice to have the filling instructions sent all while I thought the company would do this, especially after being told it will be close to the deadline but the company would “push them thru . How can they push them thru when they dont even send anything for you! The paperwork was late and the court did a default on me. I asked questions that never got answered. The main one is “ should I call the clerk or her lawyer and say paperwork is going to be late?, no answer from the company. I called the clerk and learned a simple letter asking for more time would count as a response. Wish I was told that. I told Jessica numerous times it’s going to be late. The “ legal professionals” took 2 days to get back with me about the questions I asked about how to file, resulting in further behind time. Very unhappy with the service. DONT HIRE THEM!! Save your money!!! They didn’t help at all! They directed me with a new assistant and everything was through email. I suggested if I can go in person and they said no. I wish I looked into other companies but they were the first on my Google search and I was in desperate need of help. I have canceled my account with Family Court Direct. The enrollment person, Coby, was very helpful and concerned. We agreed that the self help plan would work for me where I filled out the paperwork with assistance from a legal professional. I paid $159 with monthly payments of $39 while a client. Then Matt McCauley called to further address plan. The only plan he would discuss was for documents that were filled out out by their staff and would cost an additional $1200. He indicated that Coby was incorrect and self plan was not an option.It was apparent he was becoming frustrated with me because I was not doing what he wanted me to do. He became rude which will be evident on your tape of our conversation. We agreed he would call back next day after I had time to think about it. I made decision to cancel. This appears to be a bait and switch where I thought I had workable option, paid enrollment and found out needed to pay more $ to get help. Definitely taking advantage of person when vulnerable. By the way..I am a 72 year old woman who lives on Social Security. Shame on you. I want my $ back.

3 months ago I left a very loving review. Now here comes my completely hate filled review. **** YOU!!! For one. When we’ve needed anything done. They have dragged their feet in the mud. Everytime time we’ve called with questions, they claim our “caseworker” is on lunch. They’ve given attitude when we call with questions. When we had questions that needed to be answered. They weren’t answered until after our monthly payment was taken out. When we finally did get our paperwork back. We had to correct multiple mistakes they’ve made. BOTTOM LINE STAY AWAY!!! Because of their inaction. I am not able to do what I was so happy, and completely ready to do. These people do NOT care about you. Garbage company. Would rate them -5 stars if I could!!!

Do not spend the $150. They provide somewhat helpful information when you call initially for the free consult, but the part that you pay for is basically just a reiteration of what they already told you. You can choose to pay $39 a month while using their service to do the paperwork yourself, or you can choose to use a lawyer that is found through them. The wait for an initial appointment with their lawyers was 6+ weeks. Much better off contacting a lawyer who does free consultations than bothering with this.

I opted for their document services where they take your info and do your documents so you can represent yourself, as well as guide through the process, at least that’s what I was told. I paid them upfront, and was then told that I couldn’t use my phone for this process, and all communications are to be done through email, talking to my advisor would be impossible and I would also have buy a printer to print out forms, and a fax to fax them back, I understand that’s how they do things now but I asked if I could do everything on my phone and they said yes. So I ask for a refund because they literally didn’t help me in any way shape or form nor did I use their services. I was taken for every dollar

Terrible place to go threw instantly get you for $139 and tell you thats all you need to get what you need done then after they collect the payment they tell you its another $1050 just to file papers! I paid them 1000$ and a monthly fee and yes they gave me paperwork I found All the information they gave me the wrong paperwork I sent the wrong paperwork to the courts because they said thats was the right paperwork. Yes after the courts told me this was wrong and had to get new paperwork. Yes they sent me new paperwork. After they tried saying it may have been my fault. So all said and done. They just filled I the blank paperwork. The paperwork I could have gotten myself. I could have filled it in myself cause I found all the information and I wouldnt of had to file twice and been out ALl this money for nothing. They made the process longer, in fact its just starting now because of them. Mind you I oaied them in October of last year 2021. Unhappy, feel as if I was taken advantage of. I recommen you look into stuff cause I think most ppl could easily do what they are doing and it wont cost you as much as they charge.Not recommend.What a joke. I know for a fact I asked be cause I still have the emails where I asked. This just confirmed you lie.

I signed up with them (paying over $130 upfront) believing that I would have access to the legal advice that I needed. That was a joke, every time I spoke with some one it was well its going to cost this or that. Just to have someone help me file papers was going to cost me $1200. Yes I could make payments, but until that $1200 was paid in full my papers wouldnt be released. I have wasted a week trying to get help with them. Then when I asked to cancel my services and requested a refund they told me that it was non-refundable! They are just out for money. My advice go to legal shield or legal aid in your area.

They don’t tell you before hand that after Registering and paying the $139 dollars for their services that you would still be looking at $1500-$2500 dollars for their services on top of paying $39 dollars a month! Also tried calling to cancel out the subscription, goes to a voicemail, HA very doubtful I’d get a call back. Even emailed the gal I originally talked to to start the plan, no response. I highly recommend everyone to choose a different route. I chose the second option of 1,050$. Bad mistake. All the did was pre-fill courthouse documents which I could have done at any local courthouse for $300 includes filling. When you call them it goes straight to voicemail every time. They call you back when they can. Have a feeling it’s going to be hard to even cancel the $39 a month. I don’t count on being refunded the other money.

When I did not want to give all of my personal information upfront before I got information about what their services entailed the agent (Scott) was extremely rude and hung up on me. When I called back to talk to a supervisor I was hung up on again. Honestly this appears to be a scam and I would not recommend it at all.

Family Court Direct was the perfect choice for my situation. I was very pleased at the level of professionalism and patience that the legal team had in my case. I needed custody of my two girls in a speedy manner. All my expectations were met. Jeff Lightbody was exceptional and answered all my questions. He was very patient with all the phone calls that I made to his office. My case was resolved and I now have legal and physical custody of both my children. The decision to go with Family Court Direct was worth every penny that I paid. I would recommend Family Court Direct to any one needing legal action.

I was trying to get through to legal aid to get custody of my son and didnt realize that I was talking to family court direct. In a panic I thought I was speaking to Legal Aid. So I paid 139$ to the wrong source which is family court direct. I sent them emails stating that it was a mistake and I want a refund and I get no response. Sure seems like all they want to do is take your money. All I was looking for was a attorney through legal aid and no response on a refund. The guys name was Reiner Villalobos. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT, use this company. The biggest scam fraudulent company ever. When I first spoke to them, yes yes yes to everything with helping us for child custody. Of course payment of a little over $500 was charged quickly. As soon as that happen, they send a bunch of paperwork to fill out, only to email you back asking the same questions. Then to tell me, you better off to giving the custody up to make it easier. This company is a freaking joke. I did not pay you to give up on my child. After realizing they wasted months of back and forth bsing. I emailed them back asking for my refund and of course now its no reply and its been over a month yet when it came to money they replied within the day. They are a total scam. Everyone who been scam before please keep reporting them so they can take these frauds out of business! Jeff was my case manager. I told him my story and we decided document services were the best options. I made it a priority to pay them off ahead of the alloted payment schedule they made for me amd in return they made my case a priority. I had all my documents sent to me and I filed them within a month of hiring their services. As of now I am awaiting a court date and a final outcome. I talked to Courtney, a lady that told me everything I wanted to hear. After giving her my card number but telling her that i will call back the next day after talking to my husband. Another company trying to take advantage of poor people in the initial consultation they take $139 from me I only was looking to have them look at some divorce papers my wife sent me so after they took the $139 with one guy then they have another lady call me who supposed to be like a caseworker who says numerous times shes not a lawyer I she looks over my paperwork and thats when they try to convince you that you can get a discounted rate on a lawyer that she can represent you with but the prices are just as expensive as another lawyer that you can get locally then she tried to convince me that it was going to be difficult to find a lawyer so my best bet was to just go with them Im trying to cancel the service because theres a $39 a month fee so I sent the email to the company hopefully I wont get charged anything further because they did not help me if they try to charge me or if they do charge me any further I will update this post

I called trying to get help for visitation with my husbands daughter because his ex wife is refusing to let him see her with no reason but anyways the guy I talked to was Bryan and they way he talked to us was very unprofessional he was rude and when I finally got sick of him being so rude I told him that I was done and we would find a different company and I hung up on him he called me back and left me a voicemail that said bye crybaby this is not acceptable at all
