I have been bringing my cars to Fair Oaks Smog for over 5 years. I do my smogs, oil change, and other small maintenance. Quick, reliable and competitive pricing.Albert is very friendly, professional and gives recommendations on parts that I could buy on my own to save money.He is an honest person, which is hard to find these days.When I bring my car for an oil change, he fills up washer fluids, airs tores, checks brakes too.I will continue to get my maintenance done at Fair Oaks Smog as long as I have cars.I definitely recommend it.

One of the nicest and friendliest smog tests Ive ever had. It took me 4 times to pass but he didnt charge me for any other full tests. Not to mention I had a slow leak in one of my tires and he fixed it for free. Highly recommend Albert!

I’ve been coming here for two years now and have always had a smooth and easy experience! He even helped me with a small mechanical issues that two other mechanics couldn’t figure out. Highly recommend for a quick and painless smog check.

Mechanic Albert is the man! He does it all for you with honest opinions of what your car needs to stay in tip top shape. To smog checks, oil changes or even brake pad changes; this guy can take care of it. Recommend calling ahead to schedule an appointment as he gets busy every half an hour or so with a new customer.

Absolutely wonderful. Came in for a smog test and found out most of my sensors were not ready for the OBDII scan due to having unplugged the battery before. Came back multiple times and the owner was super kind in testing every single time, and eventually let me borrow a scanner so that I can monitor it myself and come back when the car was ready.See you in two years!

I am so very satisfied and then some with the stellar service I received from Albert. My 2018 Honda Fit was making a scary vibrating/flapping noise at high/freeway speeds and even though it didn’t look to me like a tire issue or sound like an engine problem, it was obviously still very concerning. Albert got it up on the lift, and to my great surprise, the horrible noise was due to the plastic engine cover on the bottom having come loose due to the snap screws falling out! It had been literally dragging on the road and that was what was causing the terrible noise! 😰In fact, he showed me the side where I had had a driver’s side front fender bender repaired in Jan 2022, there was a zip tie(!?!) used to affix the cover!?!? This had obviously been done by the auto body place—“a Mickey Mouse repair”—as Albert said. LOL! 😆He luckily had the Honda-compatible snap-screws in stock. He told me that the body shops typically don’t have these in stock. Hence the zip tie fix. *smh* 😒He ALSO discovered that nearly all the screws inside my front passenger side wheel well were GONE!?! So he replaced those with no problem. 👍🏼I think that was caused by all the potholes that are prevalent on San Diego roads—where I had driven up from.He also said that my tire pressure was low so he fixed that too. 😁He did all of this for a very reasonable price. I was so happy and now I have total peace of mind for my roadtrip back to SD. 😄Thanks, Albert! You totally rock! 🙌🏼🫶🏼

He was very kind and gave me a wonderful response last time. This time, the catalic converter was stolen and newly installed, and the oxygen meter could not be detected, so the smog test did not pass many times, but he kindly took care of me many times. Is there such a wonderful person? I was moved by the warmth of his heart. I passed at the end and made the test in time by the due date. Im really grateful. Thank you very much.

If I could give 6 stars I would!! Sweetest shop mechanic Albert. He did the smog test quickly. Since the storm took down his internet and he couldnt charge my credit card he accepted a $40 cash payment (all I had) instead of the $60 charge. I insisted in coming back for the remainder, but he insisted its fine. Service so thoughtful, Ill be coming back and highly recommend to others.

Very efficient and reliable service. I had an emergency situation with my car – The battery died on the morning I was supposed to drive up to Monterey for work. I stopped by Fair Oaks Smog Test and the mechanic said he could replace my battery in less than 15 minutes. Not only did the mechanic switch out the battery in record time, but he also double checked the battery health with me and made sure to give me the best price. Im very satisfied and grateful for his service! Make sure to come here if you ever encounter any problems with your car. This place is not only for smog tests!

Visiting for the weekend and decided to get an oil change out of the way. I dropped in at 9am and was in and out in 15 mins! I would highly recommend :)As I was leaving there was a woman who’s car had stalled in the arco lot. The owner was kind enough to help her out. Solid guy who can be trusted in my book!

Although the title says smog test, it has a mechanic shop on premises as well. The mechanic is professional and very knowledgeable. Most importantly, its very reasonably priced, and fast. I was in and out of there within and hour.

My check tire light came on and I stopped to fill air at the gas station. I had some trouble with the air machine and asked the man working the Smog Test station if he also checks tires. He filled my tires, even lifted the car and checked one of them for a leak, all without taking any money. Great customer service, would definitely go back for a smog check.

Its my 2nd time here. So far so good. Clean work area. They will really REALLY check under the hood. So if you have any aftermarket parts, make sure you have the CARB decal/sticker. A little pricey but I still prefer this place coz its not busy and easy access even though its by a gas station.
