Oh my gosh...Oh my goodness--Oh my GOD!!!I had the inordinate pleasure of having an eyewear fitting with the goddess herself, Autianna Wilson-- a revered optician who specializes in the finest handcrafted lenses around. I arrived at The Arlo (NYC) with the HIGHEST expectations; only to have my expectations surpassed. The merchandise is nonpareil; with every color of Gods rainbow represented! With the frames spanning every size and shape imaginable!And lest I forget the goddess herself...Autianna is a gem. A woman who knows her craft backwards and forwards. And did I happen to mention that shes not only nice--but absolutely STUNNING!I am beyond thrilled that I had this opportunity. And I can honestly state that Eyewear Love Affair will now be a permanent part of helping me to build upon my eyewear collection!

I walked into Autiannas shop and immediately I had a huge smile on my face. Everything had her artistic touch — not just the frames she carries. The decor, her outfit, her glasses. She provides style goals well beyond eyewear! Autianna explained her process, asked me a few questions, then walked around and chose many frames for me to try on. I had a great time. I felt like a princess. Im queer and butch, so I felt like a queer and gender-affirmed and very seen princess. I ended up with glasses I absolutely love. I will be sending everyone I know to Autianna. It was a great experience!

Hands down the best optical experience I have ever had in my 24 years of wearing glasses. Autianna was warm, patient, and informative and funny! She took the time to teach me about so many things that other professionals never bothered to explain—what each eye measurements means, how different frame materials will react to my high index lens, and so much more. Optical is an art AND a science and Autianna has mastered both.I get compliments on my blue frames every single day, I kid you not, and I feel SO fly in them. Really enjoyed my experience with Eyewear Love Affair. Autianna is knowledgeable and has bold exquisite taste in frames. She listened and with her selections, gently guided me outside of my comfort zone. Even more, the process of ordering & receiving my new glasses was quick and efficient—WAY shorter than my usual optician. The only downside is ELA doesn’t do insurance. Even still the cost was within striking distance of what I’ve paid in the past with insurance. Overall VERY HAPPY with my new frames and will definitely be returning.

It’s literally been years since I’ve found a pair of glasses that I not only loved, but were also of great quality (been wearing glasses my whole life, so I’m drawn to frames that are as unique as me!). The selection was so amazing I walked away with two pairs.Autianna thoughtfully selected out an assortment of frames for me to try based on what I typically like to wear clothing/jewelry-wise, glasses I’ve had in the past, what I was looking for and what might fit my face well. One of the things I really appreciated was even with the curated selection Autianna picked out, I was still free to try out other frames. I came across this business at an event for Oakland Black Pride. The cool unique frame styles and Autianna’s personality drew me in immediately! I’ve been wearing perscription eyeglasses for 20+ years and it has always been a struggle to find larger frames that are not basic and boring. As a femme with a large round face, my style options always feel limited. Over the past few years, I’ve started to gravitate towards cheaper online shops which open my options up a bit, but I notice a huge difference in quality. I expressed my concerns to Autianna before booking a consultation and she assured me that her selection was hand crafted from boutique makers with faces beyond the Euroocentric standard in mind. I felt comfortable with her thoughtful response and moved forward with booking. This was my first luxury shopping experience and it was lovely. Everything was easy from booking to appointment to pick up. The process was not rushed and Autianna asked questions to get insight into my needs, style, and desires. She pulled tons of selections for me and the process was really fun and not as overwhelming as I anticipated it would be. I settled on a lovely pair of frames, and returned to pick them up and fitted to my face. The lenses come with a one year warranty so that was also a huge plus. This experience was definitely an investment, and I would consider the consultation worth it even if you decide not to buy any frames. The insight into what suits my face best was super helpful.

I am so delighted with my experience buying sunglasses from Autianna! I used to work in luxury eyewear and am super picky about the style and quality of the glasses I wear. I had an old beat up pair I was looking to replace, and she ticked off every item on my checklist when she suggested the ones in the photos. I live in a rural area and there are no cool glasses stores near me, so having an easy virtual fitting experience was much appreciated. I received my new sunnies quickly and I haven’t even needed to have them adjusted, somehow they fit my head perfectly right out of the box. I feel like a total princess in these, they fit my style perfectly and I’ve gotten lots of compliments on them. What an absolute gem of a business! Autianna stocks the most gorgeous, unique frames I have ever seen anywhere (and I’ve been wearing glasses my whole life!). My fitting with her was the highlight of my week — she is so personable and friendly, her space is so beautifully decorated, and she assessed my style perfectly when picking frames for me to try. She first asks you a few questions to make an assessment and then picks several different frames based on your face shape and personal style. I went with a minimalist pair and a bold pair. I had the most phenomenal eyeglass fitting experience with Autianna. I have worn glasses for over twenty years and it’s always mostly just been either going to the eye doctor and picking from what they have there on my own. Or eventually, Warby Parker, again, on my own. Autianna really knows what she is doing and on top of that, I can tell she gets a lot of joy for making the perfect matches between people and eyeglass frames. I could tell she did her best to really see me, to ask me questions not only about my eyesight but my relationship to glasses and to get a feel for my personality, how I dress, and my general vibe. She also takes into consideration the shape of my face and she really, truly listens when I give her specifics about what I like or do not like about a particular pair of frames and then she adjusts her suggestions accordingly. A true professional. She had so many unique, independent brands of impeccable quality and I considered frames I would have never even looked twice at before. She also offers custom tints for sunglasses and I just about died from excitement because I was able to get an absolutely amazing frame/lens combination.Also, after I picked my orders up and wore them for a few days, I went back for an adjustment. She really wants folks to be happy AND comfortable. It took all of my power to not buy another pair when I went back for the adjustment (she had just gotten some new frames). Absolutely one of the best experiences I have ever had when purchasing and filing frames. Autiannas selection of frames is unique and unlike any other shop I have visited. Worth a visit each and every time. (I even purchased another set when I picked up my new ones.)And her selection of frames is just the beginning of all the goodness. The lab she uses to fill her frames is top notch. I have a very high prescription and many labs have a difficult time getting my lenses right on the first try. They are either too heavy, off center, or a bit off on the rx. Usually it takes a lab 2-3 times to get my lenses correct.Not here! Autiannas lab not only made the lightest lenses ever, but they were absolutely perfect on the first try. Autianna convinced to try a in a larger frame size than I normally wear. Usually a larger frame means heavier lenses. But my new ones are super light!I cant wait until my next pair!

I wanted something unique that wouldn’t be insanely expensive. Her selection is beyond cool—and it’s also ever-changing. This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had getting my glasses from Austianna. First off, she helped me navigate to her apartment seamlessly, and when I showed up she offered me refreshments and had light music playing. It was a welcoming and comfortable vibe as soon as I walked in. We went up stairs to her office and before she started making selections she asked me what type of look I was going for and questions about me to get to know me. She had so many beautiful, eclectic, stylish frames and was patient the entire time I tried over 50 pairs on. She listened to me and knew how to discover exactly what I wanted. I will be back for another pair in the future. She is a full service optometrist (I didn’t know what that meant at first) so she also fills the prescription for you. By far the best and most unique experience. The vibes were immaculate and lemme tell you she knows what tf she’a doing. It was a last minute fitting but she squeezed me in and it felt more like hanging out with a close friend who had my best interests in mind and even did a Tarot card reading for me that was on point! I have deep seeded trust issues but if you can trust anyone with your next frames it would definitely be Eyewear Love Affair. My confidence has boosted and y’all know these frames are the reason for it.

I got my first pair of pink, plastic, coke-bottle spectacles when I was seven years old, in the late ‘70’s. Not a candidate for lasik, and not comfortable in contacts, 40 years later I’ve made peace with the idea that people will always describe me as “that one, with the thick glasses”. I had been eyeing 2 gorgeous chains to buy as a birthday gift for a doctor at the office I work at. 2 1/2 weeks from her bday I found out she was leaving the following week and would be gone for her birthday.I quickly ordered the chains that night and messaged the email address from Instagram begging if there was anything I could pay to expedite the chains to have them in time before her departure. (Roughly 4 days)The owner sent me a text the next morning letting me know the chains were already processed and in the mail🥺♥️ And personally thanked me for ordering and assured me they would make it on time with no additional cost!&They did come in time! So cutely packaged and were the center pieces of her gift for her dirty 30.She wears them often and always gets complements. We went for the chunky pink chain and deep blue chain for her just couldn’t settle on one!Love this product and love how genuine the owner is!
