The location is secure, tucked away behind gates, which gave us peace of mind knowing our vehicle was safe. The space itself was spacious and easily accessible, making maneuvering our camper a breeze. I have also used the space under the RV for storage and nothing has ever been lost. There is around many friendly people, we was building our second van for carpet cleaning and guy help us with huge machine 500lbs put into van with forklift. 9,9/10 because you cannot come after 10pm and before 6am.

The team here at Extra Space in Lake Forest have been amazing to work with. Hala got me setup in no time and gave me a tour of the property. It’s very safe and the large units have really helped my small business grow! Matt always makes sure to meet my businesses needs and has been instrumental to the little things that make leasing a space here very pleasant! Kyle and the rest of the team always show up with a smile. Highly recommend over other storage options in the area.

I rented a storage unit this week. The person who helped me was informative and helpful. He showed me different units so I could make my final choice. He even honored the web special price. I asked him about the first month being free special and he told me that the banner had an asterisk and that meant they could exclude the 1st month free if they were almost full. Which he said they were. I completed the transaction with him and put some things into storage today. I happened to access the website to show a friend in the neighborhood and I saw the asterisk meant that the discount excludes Administrative and Insurance fees, not the almost full bs. Well now I feel Ive been duped. Well played storage salesperson. Im not going to cancel my storage, but Im not going to give them the 5 stars I was expecting to either. If you get nothing else out of this review, please check your asterisks.Response to Owners Response: Free 1st Month When its Available? What does that mean? You put a banner on your location with free month. Your website says free month. Then you use my cookies after I went on your website to follow my wife and I around the web with your free month ad. Once we pull the trigger on a storage rental you say its not available. Very convenient for you. Great false advertising ploy. The discount is available when you make it available.Honestly, if you had never offered the discount I would have rented the space. But, because you used it as a carrot and then pulled it away I feel screwed. I changed my review to a one star. 90% of my reviews are 5 star. Not this one.Update:After 4-5 months they raised my monthly dues to demand. I ended up moving next store to the 🍊 storage place. Better price and I got my free month. No asterisk.

6/13/2024Simply amazing! I had an issue with my RV storage spot and I brought it to the attention of Matt, Brad and Justin and what a fantastic team with superb customer service. I stopped in today and discussed the issue with Brad and Matt and they quickly provided solutions, options and answers. This is by far the best customer service that makes a huge difference in todays competitive market. I have had my RV at this site and only had one issue that was quickly resolved and I felt the caring, compassionate leadership and staff truly step up and treat me like family. Would give 0 stars if I could. I rented a unit online and confirmed the move in day and everything. Received a call while at work at a 12 hour shift at the hospital - clearly not able to answer thinking I could just call back. They left a voicemail saying “call to complete the move in” never once did they explain they would GIVE UP my reservation to someone else. Called back today and they told me they gave my unit to someone else. Customer service is trash was told they could refer me to another location I will not be doing business with this horrible company and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Billing was misleading. The contract stated, suggested retail rate. The word Promotional rate was never used until I was notified my rate would increased $100 a month after 90 days. I was also told my rate would increase again in 8 months. Nice facility but misleading contract details. Extremely disappointed.

Everyone at Extra Space have been so kind to us as we have been working onsite with them to solve an issue! Matt the store manager is so awesome to work with. He was very calm through this whole situation and made working together so easy. Justin has a heart of Gold and wears it on his sleeves and really is awesome with his customers and truly the best. Zach has been so helpful. They all work under Brian which has made this process so smooth. He was very easy to talk to and was completely available when needed. Hopefully this does not happen again but if it did we can all solve together!

Personal experience was great, Kyle was super helpful in getting the space needed. My only concern is rates of the unit as you can only do month to month unless you pay up front. That being said the can increase the rates whenever wanted if your are doing a long term rental.

Renting a unit has never been more simple! Having to pack up stuff, load, unload repeat is tiring enough but it always seems to take so long to rent a unit. Not here.... I did everything online. The instructions were easy to understand the units and facility is very clean. They are open until 10pm and that was my original draw but, the client services both on and off site have made my move-in a positive experience. Im very satisfied and would recommend extra storage to family and friends.

Had a great experience because of Matt. Hadchallenges with the space I rented for my 10 x 20 travel trailer. I decided to downsize to an outside unit and Matt was very kind and helped offset some of the issues (no fault of his) that occurred in my previous rental space. He gave me a $50 credit and did not charge me for the key lock. He was extremely sincere in addressing my issues and I walked out feeling very happy about choosing this Extra Storage location. It was a tough experience moving from San Diego to Lake Forest to find a decent size space, facility and price to store my 8 x 20 custom Ultralight trailer. But thanks to Amy Shaw everything worked out fine. She is the assistant manager here and a joy to work with. She was super friendly and kind and very empathetic to my situation. Amy is extremely competent at her job and willing to go the extra mile. She handled me with ease while dealing with multiple customers by herself all while the phone was ringing off the hook. I was VERY impressed. Because of Amy I got everything I needed. Plus the facility is really nice. She deserves recognition, and a raise or promotion. But I found this place to be absolutely perfect as it’s close to my house and the dog park I go to and not to mention the cleanliness is an absolute plus.I also cannot thank Olivia enough for helping me secure my storage. During a hot 98 degree weather day she took me touring through all the available storage rooms. She was so nice, patient and helpful and made the overall experience phenomenal that I decided to get another storage in the facility! I’m so sad to hear that she’s gonna be leaving soon to pursue her other goals. If this review was solely based on cleanliness and quality of space I would give it 5 stars. Here is why I gave it 2 stars.1. I was in a unit large enough to store a car and rented it for about 2 years. I could have used one of the much larger units they have at my location so I put my name on the wait list. When they finally had one come available they left a message on my cell. I called back within 24 hours and it was gone. I just felt burned and it wouldnt be challenging to have a better system in place that takes care of your customers.2. I have rented an outdoor parking space for the last year or so. After 2 months of renting they raised the rate by 25%. It went from $350 up to $472. That is why I left. Its all about the numbers. Once they have no vacancy they raise rents. I recommend looking for a place that has a 1 year rate guarantee or a set % increase. An increase of 25% is a blatant and abusive cash grab.

Just a blessed experience. First Matt was so helpful in fitting the right storage unit to our needs while driving me to all different units to choose from. So, so helpful. THEN - about a week later, I drove 90 minutes with a truckload to fill the unit and somehow managed to leave the key behind! Matt and Sonny teamed up to solve the problem - very creatively. I rented a unit for almost a year and it was easy to pay online and send in my notice to vacate. I went to my unit, which is an indoor unit and it is always clean in the building, and I couldnt get my door open. A box had been crushed and a stack of boxes were leaning against the roll up door. A gentleman from the office (I feel bad for not remembering his name) helped me get my door open and was so kind about my situation. This is the cleanest storage facility, as a whole, I have ever rented from. This place is a very nice spot for RV’s for the most part. Management is friendly and having a dump station is very helpful. I have had storage here either trailer or rv for the past five years. I have been noticing more criminal activity here. Most recently, my RV catalytic converter was stolen. A few months before that, a 30 gallon sack of “contraband” was stuffed under my trailer. I am thinking more security is needed here beyond the cameras. When I told management about the incident I was told to call my insurance company. I would say their so called “exceptional” security is actually mediocre at best.

The increases in rent come every 10 months. I just got my latest increase for one of my 5x10 units from $85/month to $125/month. I moved here from out of state and needed a place to store my pop up camper. Extra space had a space available and were very professional in handling the transaction. I dealt with the manager Rodney and he was wonderful. My only concern was the shock when I learned what the price of storage is. I have never had to pay for storage and it was way more than I expected. I pay the same for my pop up as a 40 ft. Rv. Its not Rodneys fault. That is just the way it is. Storage is expensive. Other than that, the workers there couldnt be nicer. Facility is very clean and seems very secure.

New: Been at this facility for 2 years now.. I would say, it’s a hidden gem for folks living in porotla hills, foothill ranch, lake forest and baker ranch. Gated, well lit, clean and well take care of. Store Manager Deneen Nakamura is just great, so is Amiee Shaw, had called into renew my spot and they were kind enough to take me through other options that might better suit, and we found a smaller spot that saved me some money and opened the bigger spot for others in need.And they have a free dump station.Previous:They honored a good internet price, happy with facility so far

The place is clean, we have had our trailer there for about 5 years now. We’ve had one broken window that they would not be responsible for. Ok fine they can’t be responsible for everyone’s property damage. They started us off at a great price, but unless you pay the whole year upfront every year, your monthly payment will go up around $30 every year.At this point I’m wondering if it will ever stop. That amount of yearly inflation is too much.

I will agree with others that a new manager is very unpleasant to deal with. He knows nothing about customer service. Old manager really understood life circumstances and was very compassionate. Wish he was still there, probably wouldnt have to look for a different place.

Everyone there were extremely helpful. I had been looking for a storage site for my RV and none was available however they said they would put me on a list and call me when one was available. One week later they called. No other facility that I had contacted even returned my call about a site.Thank you very much I plan to stay there for a very long time.

Had a storage unit here for a long time when they switched owners to become Extra Space Storage they raised the rates, alot! A increase of approx $150 over the course of a year. They do not work with you. Their Corporate office doesnt care and only cares about turning over new customers not someone who has been renting for a long time. My unit for a new customer is $300 yet I was asked to pay $450 and was told rates will increase to $500+ saying its market value (BS). I would recommend getting a storage elsewhere where they dont price goug you. I would give zero stars if I could.
