Had a wonderful experience renting a storage unit in North Hollywood. Michael made the whole experience smooth, fast and efficient. Reserved it online and paid over the phone, the whole process was very easy. The facility is clean and well-kept.The units are clean, secure, well-lit and ventilated.

Every interaction I’ve had here with the incredible team at this location, they have gone above and beyond for me and I will be a lifelong customer of extra space because of it. The staff and customer service is truly exceptional and far exceeded any and every customer service experience I’ve had in recent years. These guys are shining examples of what customer service is supposed to look and function like. Clean, easy access, first months free! I came in today and left with a great storage space. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff.They sell boxes and tape and other stuff for moving. Gate hours are from 6am-10pm. Office hours are 9:30am-5pm Monday-Saturday, closed Sunday. The only bathroom is available in the office.To open the gate you have to punch your code into the key pad. There are many different size storages available. I like how there are really big ones (you can even park an SUV inside of them) along the outside of the building that can be driven up to. Then, theres an alley that goes up a ramp, to the second story, and right thru the middle of the building with even more drive up storages.There are hand carts available to help move heavy things. They are chained to the wall with a combination lock. Enter the combo and remove the lock to use it.Ive really enjoyed using this facility. Its always really clean. The climate control feels real nice, especially lately weve been having triple digit heat. Sometimes I feel like I dont want to leave. All the other tenants Ive met are really chill and friendly.Update, 8 months later.I moved out of the storage today. All of my belongings are in great condition. A weeks notice has to be given when leaving. I called a week ago to tell them. They said, Thank you, have a good day. The whole stay and moving out process was super easy, barely an inconvenience. They took the payments right or if my checking account every month. There was one time I didnt have the funds. But it was no problem. I was given a week to get it to them. Once it was in place, I just called so that they run my card again. I dont know what happens after that week. Im guessing you get kicked out?All through my stay the place was kept immaculate. No weird smells or sticky floors. The gate hours made it super convenient to get in and out. Even when scheduling around work. All other tenants were cordial. Some really friendly, others kept to themselves, none rude or negative. Sometimes the bathroom situation was tough. Its in the office, so only available during office hours. There are other bathrooms in the area that can be used if needed. Right Aid at Tujunga and Victory or Costco at Tujunga and Sherman Way were where I went.I am 100% satisfied with my stay at Extra Space storage at Vanowen and Tujunga. I highly recommend them for all of your storage needs. I would use them again if I had to. Thanks you guys!

The manager was very nice and accommodating. Once all the paperwork was finished via computer, I was given a brief tour of the facility, shown where to park and enter the building for quick access to my unit.I found the facility to be really clean, especially the unit. Ive never seen a cleaner storage place before. Wow!

How do we store anything when they allow construction in the hallways? No not construction for more space. Another storage customer is literally building something out of wood in their unit and ALLL of their stuff is out in the hallway. I couldnt even get into my unit. This is what I pay 300 dollars a month for? Do better. These same people are using the dolly to move their construction material around as well. Wood out in the parking lot. I mean wood dust everywhere. So wheres the worker? Hes in the parking lot talking to another customer as I left. How long has this been going on for? Who knows. But everytime I come here I always find another reason to just get the hell out of this place. Its sketchy to say the very least.

The access is easy, and very generous 6am - 9 pm with a gate code ( in fact, I got in at 9:10 for my last load out, so even more generous than that!).But I especially want to complement the man who runs it. Ive rented storage at many places and moved here for the lower cost, and have been happily surprised that the facility and staff are much better than other places that cost more.Wish I would have tried this place first. Its even open to customers later than the public storage I was at on Sherman way that cost more and had lower customer service skills. 5 stars too the staff here .keep up the great work and thank you

I love this facility. Everyone who works there is very friendly and helpful. The place is always very clean. I do wish they had more carts available though, sometimes I have to hunt around for them. But its very easy access for my car and offloading and the site feels very safe and secure. But you gotta act fast if there are available units, they go fast!

Highly recommend this facility, seriously if you need to store something short term or long term, this is the place to go. Michael was absolutely amazing, I left with a smile and I couldn’t of asked for a nicer guy to help us get a unit. Took us to look at the units and had no issue showing us different size units even though it was a distance to walk, he was so nice and it only took 10-20 mins from start to finish. This was my first time using a storage facility and right from the start, the office staff and management was very friendly and helpful. They were easy to reach on the phone and always answered my questions. This place is always clean and secure and you can tell Michael was very involved and committed to making this a good operation. When I planned my departure, they were also helpful with some ideas on where to sell some furniture. The closing of unit and ending contract ran smoothly and no hassles. If I had to use a facility again, I would definitely consider this location and management team.

I must share what a remarkable person Michael is.Having not been familiar with renting a storage unit, Michael went out of his way to explain everything to me was very patient and listened and suggested what size I may need it up I needed another unit with his help I am able to organize my extra storage. What was on ce seemed overwhelming Michael seemed to make it feel like it can be done with simplicity. We all know what that feels like when you have extra stuff in your house that you dont want to get rid of but yet you havent touched it in five years. Reaching the age that I have I have memorabilia that to me are personal and I dont want to part with them. Thank you Michael for making this so pleasant of an experience. I was really impressed with how nice the place was. The office was very clean and organized, and there was easy access to the storage units on the second floor. Michael, the manager, was also very helpful. I was trying to access a storage unit for a friend who was in the hospital, and he was very patient and accommodating. However, he did make sure I followed the proper guidelines and had permission to open the unit. Overall, its a very nice facility. I recommend it.

I rented one unit and after a month it was too big for my needs and Michael was able to get me into a smaller unit on the same floor and section as my other unit making it super easy for me to move all my stuff over. Another update: Im done with this place. The price hikes arent reasonable. Also, they dont keep the same rates as they offer. $339 a month while they offer the same unit (10x10, first floor) for $239 for newer customers. I have been a customer here for almost five years, and Im pretty disappointed.I still like the ExtraSpace brand much more than any of the big competitors (in fact, Im renting units in Sacramento and Mesquite, although the experience hasnt been great there either). But really, the lack of control about their price gouging is very discouraging.--Previous:I feel compelled to change this review.I cant give it 5 stars with their policy of exponentially incrementing the rent every 5 months. It doesnt reflect at all the normal inflation in rental prices.What am I supposed to do, to rent another unit at a fair price and move everything every 5-10 months? This company seems not to like long lasting costumers, and I wont be one -Ill be out as soon as I can.Sadly, Id still think its better and more professional than Public Storage. But far from good: it just doesnt work if youre willing to rent for more than a few months.--Previous review:Michael is great! Someone is there to let the UPS trucks in and UPS drops the boxes in the unit. Definitely recommend this location. Extremely convenient. Parking is easy and it’s clean and easy.

Rip off! They offer you a lower online rent price that’s reasonable, but within months they raise your rent. Total scam. I had a few family test my observation and the same thing happened to them. This is the second storage unit I rented and I cant tell you how happy I am. Michael was great to work with. Made the process super easy fast and got me out here in no time. The doors are clearly marked.A couple of problems that could be easily fixed and the reason I dropped a star is that I can never find a cart! Even under the big RETURN CARTS HERE banners. Which leads me to believe there should be carts. Maybe they are all upstairs, but Id like to see them evenly distributed.Another issue is that I couldnt find a trash can anywhere. I understand them not wanting a dumpster there, but one of the boxes I was moving in got wet and I had no where to dispose of it, so I had to drive a wet box in my car to work. Not pleasant.Those are easy fixes that I think would really make this place a 5-star joint.But dont get me wrong this is a great storage facility. Way better than some of the other places you see along Vanowen!
