This storage facility is run by a group of truly compassionate knowledgeable and professional staff. Everyone I have encountered there has been truly amazing. Im an artist and only had been back once since my original move-in and I forgot my unit number entrance code, etc.. the other problem was I showed up 15 minutes before they closed. Granted I just wanted to put a glass table in there, but I went to the wrong floor and thought that my unit had an additional company lock on it. By the time I got up there, it was 5 to 7 and I made it back down to the office right around closing time the two employees that were working, Deswa and and Harry were more than understanding and I took them on a wild goose chase to what I thought was my unit by the time they got back to the office and figured out the right unit. It was well after (7 PM closing time.) This did not dissuade them from having wonderful attitudes towards my confusion, and both of them walked up to the unit with me to make sure that I could enter. It was quite involved and they were genuinely kind patient and professional. Much beyond what I would consider required manners I was absolutely stunned. most people would be pissed or would hide their annoyment at being postponed from going home from work on time. Not Harry and Ezra theyre great guys and I recommend this place wholeheartedly. Its not the cheapest unit in town, but in my opinion, it is worth paying a little more for the fantastic service and the impeccably spotless, including the storage unit and the bathroom. these type of employees are very difficult to find and I can only give credit to the management. And I know it is not a fluke because Karla, the assistant manager, had the same great attitude and helpful nature when I moved in a couple months back. I normally never write reviews, but these are some wonderful people the last time Ive seen a bathroom for customers as clean as the one that must be cleaned numerous times a day at the storage unit was at the Ritz Carlton. It goes without saying, but I will, I highly recommend the Glenco Exra Space Storage facility in Marina del Rey California. last note;Ive rented other storage units that advertised climate control indoor units but in the summer, the hallways and units were in the mid 90s at least. The store manager and staff was extremely helpful and managed to get us a unit at the online price even when booking in person. They were so accommodating and polite when we wanted to change unit for a different lock type and to suit our preferences best. We have used them for dorm room storage two years in a row and we will keep going back!

VERY clean, Convenient and Economical. Found this storage in-line (better rates than in-person drop-in) just a block from my house. Plenty of Dollie’s; carpeted interior hallways, friendly staff and superb security. Instead of a chore, this becomes an easy week-end visit for holiday, family memorabilia or overstock furniture. And did I mention the convenient in-town location?

The absolute worst! My unit was broken into and aside from making exactly ONE phone call (that I missed) to tell me about it, they continued collecting, and increasing, my rent for 6 months without saying a word! If I had known all of the important stuff had been stolen, I would not have been paying for the unit!!! I feel violated and SCAMMED

My unit along with I believe 10 others were broken into and a ton of my stuff was stolen. Management did not bother to call the cops even though they knew who did it and had them on security cameras. I was told it’s up to each individual unit if they wanted to call the police. For the exorbitant amount they charge in rent you would think the facility would have better customer service.At the time, anyone could apply online to get a passcode into the facility which led to the robbery. I believe that security issue has been resolved and the facility is now under new management which has led to a slightly safer environment. (Ie the 2 stars instead of 1)

It was a good location and reasonable price when I enrolled 3 months ago. However, the gate hours leave it hard to access from time to time. And the price surged almost 30% after my first couple of months, so I quickly vacated (with the limited gate hours making it difficult to find time between work and holiday travel).

I had a great experience with the Saturday staff when I came in for the rental. I was really happy with all the follow-up after I made an online reservation. Everything was really smooth. Absolutely horrible place customer service is horrible .Their access hours clearly state 8-7pm my husband I show up at 645 and we are denied access we go into the office and the lady says there is nothing she can do and just brushes us off . For paying 70 a month you think they’d be alittle more respectful and have the correct time for closing . Absolutely ridiculous do not waste your money

I have Been storing my possessions here for the last 6 months now. Very comfortable location. And amazing staff. My experience was really good. They exceeded my expectations from when I got the units to closing out. V called me to tell me my units were empty in worried voice. I told her I moved out of the units 3 days ago and thought the previous person I spoke with took care of it. But I guess not. Thank you V. I also needed a lock cut previously because I lost the key. There is no hesitation with the manager to cut the lock. They are professional, quick, and very nice. I recommend extra space storage for anyone who lives locally.

The facility seem clean and the staff was friendly. I was lucky to get a promotional rate online for storage. Although, the access hours to this location for the amount paid is not accommodating for average person with day-time job (access hours: M-F, 10am-6pm). Recommend they add more security cameras or hire a security guard to monitor grounds for safety to refer back to original extended access hours.

I will have to live somewhere while my ADU is being built. This the need for storage. I arranged it all over the phone with Brie. It was a simple process Im 80 so when Brie saw me waiting for the movers she got a cart for me from one of the other areas. She was personable, courteous and helpful. The space was exactly as described. She had been right on the nose as the amount of space I needed. The facility is clean and convenient -- and reasonably priced.

WOW! A-MAZE-ING. From the first call to them, the customer experience was amazing. They were so cool, and they followed up perfectly. I visited a few other storage places and called many, but this place kept my interest. There were two girls working there, and both were super friendly and professional. In particular, the woman with the southern accent, who deals with the facility was extremely helpful during move-in and move-out by providing helpful tips regarding the freight elevator etc… The storage facility is also VERY clean. I got locked out of my unit and he was incredibly friendly and ready to help me break the lock off.ONE star to the Extra Space automated phone line which led me on a merry go round of transfers back to the same menu over and over when I was already stressed out about not being able to get into my unit. That star is only for the kiosk outside the office that got quickly to a live agent who was able to help in the interim.IPDATE to give a rave review to Brie. Honestly, a really great experience which isnt something you expect from a storage facility. Everyone is super friendly and helpful and I love how much flexibility these hours gave me over the last orange storage facility I was at. I like that they stay open to 10, and keep carts near the elevators for you to use. The facility itself is pretty decent all things considered and my 5x5 had plenty of room for what I needed. My only complaint is that their website office hours are way off, so I did show up one morning with a tight time crunch and had to sit in my car and wait for 30 minutes, and my attempts to visit the office were in vain because of the same issue. But overall a great experience and I was happy to be with them for however brief it was.

In the past 5 years I have used nearly 10 storage facilities around the country and this one is the best by far. The store manager, Mayra Grimaldo, runs an excellent all-around operation. It has always been incredibly easy to work with Mayra as I have been remodeling my home nearby over the past two years and have had to change the size of my storage unit a few times which has been seamless. Mayra and her team have always been very responsive and attentive to my needs. The facility is very easy to access as the gate uses a keypad that operates from 6AM to 10PM. My units at the facility have always been clean and dry with roller doors that allow you to use your own lock. I really like that you can use your own lock as some facilities have cylinder locks which make it impossible to use the same key for multiple locks. The facility is very safe and well lit and I always rest easy knowing that my belongings are safe. There is also ample parking close to the units which makes loading and unloading easy. They have carts that you can check out to make moving things easier. The biggest benefit to this location that I have found is their availability of drive up units which make it great for storing large sporting goods and construction equipment. I have been a customer here for over 2 years now and will continue to give them my business. I even pulled some things out of storage that I had at nearby competitors and upgraded to a larger storage unit here as I liked the service and location and accessibility so much.

Unsafe facility going on restricted gate hour lockdown. This facility is so unsafe that it is being locked down on March 6, 2023. Due to break-ins and the high number of homeless living INSIDE the actual storage units (I witness them on a regular basis for the past 4 years) they have decided to only allow access to the facility when the office is open which will be M-Fri 930-6PM, Sat 900-530PM and Sunday 10-4PM. If you have any kind of regular 9-5 job with a commute in LA you will only be able to access your things on weekends. This place used to be great and now they have done such a poor job of securing the facility that they are placing it on lockdown. I have been a customer for over 4 years at times paying for multiple units spending thousands of dollars a month at this facility. Very unfortunate that the leadership has taken this drastic decision punishing loyal and paying clients because they cannot secure the facility any other way. This is in a nice part of Marina Del Rey as well which is a real shame. I come here daily at night due to my work schedule and always see homeless coming in and out for the night to their units. That is what they should be addressing instead of locking us out of our own things whenever the office is not open.

Received an immediate call the next day regarding my reservation from Mayra and spoke to Steve when I returned their call. Steve was phenomenal and very professional. Not very happy as Ive only had the unit for 2-3 months and they already increasing my monthly rate by $41 as they stated the cost as a market adjustment. We were never told that we were on a promotional rate. Im more concerned that in a couple more months theyll continue to increase the rate. 41 dollars extra a month for a small unit is ludicrous. I have a 9-6 hour job, which is exactly their office hours now (and gate hours) from 9:30am to 6:00pm. So I am not able to access the unit after work or before work at all during the week days. This makes this storage unit unusable for me. This was supposedly due to the homeless population and lack of any kind of security presence at this location. Apparently there are homeless people living in here as tenants? Id suggest we either screen customers better (require credit card on-file, paystubs), and / or have a security guard for extended hours (even until 7 or 8pm) would be super helpful, or open the gate hours earlier at 8am. Having gate hours being 9:30am - 6pm makes this facility unusable to me.

Management does not have security. There are homeless living in the units and breaking into the units. Homeless are repeatedly coming in and out of the units with their luggage and duffel bags. If you look back there was 20 units broken into on February 19 which is why they locked the facility down. Instead of hiring adequate security at night they now only allow you to access your belongings for 6-8 hours out of the 24 hour day.

Great hours and climate control but dont get to comfortable. I rarely go to my storage unit. Maybe twice a month so Im not sure their reasoning but I felt they were trying to get me to move out. I had only been there for a few months and they raised my rent almost $100 it went from $150 to $240 for a 5x10 on the 3rd floor. And if I was ever late even just a week with payment they were quick to restrict my hours and lock me out. After I paid them for one late payment I went there twice and my storage was still locked and couldnt get it unlocked. Because it was when the office was closed.

Extra Space Storage [ESS] on Glencoe Avenue is a very user accessible, clean and well lit [interior] facility. The space is air-cooled with storage units walled in a fabricated heavy aluminum. Youll feel comfy storing your items there. HOWEVER there are very real issues that should be considered. Most importantly, theres no security on site. When I initially moved my items there, my Contract stated the existence of on-site Security which I witnessed in the 1st few weeks as I visited my Unit more often. But a year later my Unit was broken into, and when I asked how Security didnt hear the break-in, I was informed that ESS had cancelled Security Services 6 months prior without informing customers. 3-5 other Units were broken into with crowbars and other simple tools. I didnt feel safe there after that.Overall this is a great facility. The on-site staff are generally patient and helpful. Why they wont rethink the Security decision is a puzzler. As wiser men often caution - penny wise, pound foolish. And their annual rent increases are a bit aggressive at 20% for a space without security.One last thing - ESS rents ground Units [where my Unit was], and overhead Units that are accessible by elevator. The ground level Units are newer and cleaner. The upstairs Units are older, darker, not as clean feeling and more cramped. However they are more secure due to the need for a code to use the elevator.

I received a call on Saturday that my unit had been broken into the night before after office hours. Since you need an access code for the gate, building, and elevator, it must have been an employee or someone with a storage unit at the facility._______________________________Update:I called the number below, but it routed me to the facility. Tyler answered but said he had no additional information for me (he said Google responses are by the corporate office). He did indicate he was the one who called me initially (left me a voice message) and was the one who discovered my unit had been broken into. I asked how many other units were broken into, and he said just mine. When I had returned the voice message on Friday, the woman with whom I spoke said maybe 1 or 2 other units had been broken into.

Needed a last minute storage unit and was not disappointed. I first noticed how clean the facility was and then met Tina who was super helpful. Got in, got out and moved my stuff in in no time. BEST.STORAGE.EVER.This is by far the best storage facility in California (and I say this from experience).I have been renting here for a couple of years now and I cant say enough good things about it. Everyone who works there (especially Victor, Dave, and Terri) are extremely kind and professional. They go above and beyond to provide exemplary customer service always.I store many valuable and cherished items in my unit and I am always amazed at how safe and secure they are. Not to mention how clean my unit and the public areas are. Seriously, every time I open my door there isnt even a speck of dust on my things. Also the facility is air-conditioned so there is no risk of humidity or damage.Honestly, customer service is of the utmost importance to me. It determines whether I give a certain place my business or not. I cant say enough good things about Extra Space, they are the perfect example of how a business should be run.All I can say is thank you to Victor, Dave, and Terri and keep up the good work!Do yourself a favor and listen to my most sincere advice: rent from Extra Space. A friend of mine recommended Extra Space storage to me while iwas on the road. I had been on the road since 2000.The folks at Extra Space Storge specially the manager Mayra have proven more forthcoming with assistance than any other storage office I have been.I thanked them for their good services too.It is even sad to move on as one does in life.I know everyone here and have known everyone here for so long .Thank You Everyone!Thank you very much and indeed I would come back and recommend storage here at Extra space should the chance or opportunity arrive.
