I can not believe this place has such a high rating. There have been numerous break-ins lately to the units and the vehicles that are left here. When the police asked the personnel for the camera footage they claimed it wasnt working at the time the break-ins occurred. It was pointed out that the lights were out in the back area and as of last night they were still out. Not safe. We will no longer be doing business at this location. Beware if you are planning to rent at this location.

We had another break-in here. The responding police officer said it was his 7th time this year he was called to this Extra Space for theft. There’s tons of homeless living in the storage and the riverbed behind.

The place is very clean and organized!! Inside is also very clean and organized with climate control for the delicate wood or antiques. Junk yard. There’s abandoned vehicles, trash everywhere. You can’t access your storage unit because there’s trash blocking it.

I’ve honestly had the best experience with the manager Hugo. I’m out of state and he went out of his way to resolve an issue that wasn’t on him. Very impressed with the service and would highly recommend it here.

Ive been with Extra Space since June 2022. I have a 10x10 unit. I started out paying $128 for the first 3 months on a promo, it then went up to the normal price of $180 something. It then went up $100 more dollars‼️ $280 🤯 for a 10x10...thats a bit much if you ask me. I called and spoke with someone who allowed me to pay $240 instead. I spoke with a guy named Taylor today 1/29/24 and I felt he was a bit curt about me questioning the predatory price raises. He told me these were average prices of 10x10 storage units. I immediately searched 10x10 storage near me & got Ready Space on the phone & got a 10x10 space for $167 insurance included, $155 without. Im out of there (Extra Space) on the 15th of February.✌🏾

The customer service is fantastic! The grounds are pristine. I appreciate the little things like when I see a team member they check on me and say hello. Also, I’m grateful for a package gets delivered to their office they put it in my unit and leave a message telling me they did so. I will continue to refer them to others that I know are in need of a storage unit. I addressed a small concern with Hugo and he immediately assisted and resolved the matter.

I got this unit in Feb 2021. It was during covid shutdown so the offices were not open had to do online/phone. I chose the drive up unit. I had to move all my moms stuff because she had a stroke. When I finally got to see the unit. There was a stand alone right in front of mine making it not a drive up. I complained and they said it was the only one left and I was getting a discount. I kept it out of necessity. I also asked about my free month and was told I was getting the online price which was better. Then 1 month later they raised the price $57 a month. I was caring for my mom 24/7 so couldnt move at the time. Now they have raided the price another $57 a month. This is ridiculous. I just closed out the unit and moved to a family run storage facility. I do not recommend this place unless you want to be lied to and get charged a fortune. The crew at the E. Long Beach facility were great and got me a space with a wider door right away. I was in a transition of housing and the accommodation there was a life saver. When I finalized my situation, they allowed for my early check out in my favor without any problems. I especially would call out the professional and courteous service from the agent Alexia.

Have loved having our storage space at Extra Space Storage. Units are clean and easy to access. Site has enough rolling carts available onsite. On-site staff is extremely helpful and nice!! We needed to switch to a smaller space and we were able to do so in less than 10 minutes. Would highly recommend!!

Don’t waste your money I got a 5 x 5 originally for 93 and it was climate controlled but they gave me a corner unit so I switched and then they told me they had a more premier unit for two dollars more but it was not climate controlled two months later they raised it to $106 2 months after that $170 you can get a 10 x 10 for that price These guys are crooks. You can get any 5x5 climate controlled for much cheaper in the same building. Honestly do not waste your money. They raised the rent on you for no reason not to mention that their facilities are not pristine the key code to get into where my locker is, is faded. You can barely see the numbers. How is that taking care the property not to mention the property itself and lockers are old. These guys are honestly crooks. Please please save yourself the headache and your money. I never go out of my way to write a review I had to for these guys because how terrible they are.

I got a frustrating notice that my good rate was increasing by 50% in the new year so I called and spoke to Christina who walked me through my options, explained the demand-based price changes, and helped me find a new unit that was a better fit. I was able to pay less and even got a more convenient location. Really appreciate the staff help which is the main reason I decided to continue using this very convenient location. Five stars for Christina; four for Extra Space making rate big increases.

If your late on on payments and you answer and talk with them they won’t wave the late fees no trash is available to discard any items and the doors do not stay open they are double doors so you will have to use something’s to keep the doors open when loading and unloading also to exit you hav to press the exit button

Not the greasiest experience! I got stuck in the elevator for 8 mins. I pushed the emergency button, fire dept answered and said they can’t hear me! The outside gate was broken a few times. They raise the rent all the time and not worth it. They hesitate to let you use the bathroom in the leasing office, there isn’t one anywhere else on the premises. Last time they told us we had to go to Taco Bell to use it!

I just left you guys two months ago. I went to Life storage because it was cheaper. I went to go pay the bill on Thursday. I found out that you guys bought Life storage I was with you guys for one year within that one year you guys went up on me almost $100. I hate the fact that you guys bought off Life storage they were affordable so when you guys go up on me again I’ll just have to leave and find a place that’s cheaper it’s not like you guys go up $10-$15 when you guys go up it’s $30-$50 people can’t afford that you guys went up on me twice in one year I could not afford extra storage, so I found Life storage they were very affordable. I do not like it when big companies go and buy out all the smaller companies taking away your choice so now you have no other choice but to go with the big company and pay the ridiculous price either you pay the ridiculous price or you have to either try to sell your stuff on eBay or give it away or throw it away people need mom and pop stores just to make it in life

I was shopping around for a storage that checked every box starting with location to price to cleanliness. Location was a big thing and safer area but affordability was also a big factor so I came across this one just on a Google maps search and saw the web rate. I know one person who had their storage unit here and said great things so I reserved my spot online. Not too long after, Christina called me to get everything set up - I wanted to see the unit first so went there and she handed me the information. Because of Covid, only one person is allowed in the front office and they stuck to that which was nice. It was very very clean and they were friendly and to the point. They are very responsive and answered the phones right away for any questions. The nice part is everything can be set up to get you signed and moved in quickly through your phone and email to sign the unit contract. My unit space was clean and accessible. The location was a few miles further than I was looking but this immediate area feels safer, worth the extra drive and as I mentioned, very clean facility. I would definitely recommend for these reasons and if youre looking for a place to move in quickly and easily. Ill be able to update my post once Ive been moved in and interacting with it more.

Upon arrival to my new unit, I had an issue with the storage lock not being left within the unit as stated in the rental agreement. I arrived after the office had closed; therefore, I had to wait until the following day to move in. They raised my rate almost 50% in a single month after being a customer for about 2 years. Unreal! And they justify it by saying they are always evaluating the current market. But I’ll bet prices never go down if the market goes down. Also, the exterior doors are not very secure. One never self closed and locked. I also saw that some of the units doors had damage most likely from break ins. I’m moving to another storage unit after the massive price increase with no warning. Found a spot with a similar unit at half the price. So not sure what “current market” they are looking at. Today I saw multiple empty units. I’ll bet a lot of people are mad they raised the price so much.

First time using this storage facility Extra Space Storage. I already know my husband and I will trust our item storage needs here. Christina and Dan were very help full and genuinely look like they enjoy their jobs. They were friendly, suggestive and helpful with every question and concerns we had. They use an Electronically contract system which I was not to excited about since it generated a signature for me that I did not do but I understand it’s a computer thing. Overall both of them made our experiences pleasant. Thank You

Had my property in this storage unit for approximately one year. Payments were automatically deducted from my bank. Unfortunately, the management will not give you a unit map, so I eventually found my unit on my own. Security is quite high here as you need gate code and main building code to gain entry after you get into the facility. Christina at the front office was a pleasure to deal with and no paperwork necessary upon my move out.

I checked several storage facilities nearby (I didn’t want to travel far to move stuff) and chose Extra Space. I wanted a facility in a safe neighborhood where I could use it at night, one that accepted packages, climate controlled, clean and a good staff. I met and talked with Christina who gave me a tour, explained the rates and how the facility works. I am leaving the area and needed a facility that would allow me to store items long term while I travel. I also wanted to allow two family members access and Extra Space has a key service for authorized access.What impressed me was the follow up I received after I tried to stop a moving device from tailgating in on me during non-office hours. I was able to stop them because they’d be trespassing and Extra Space apologized even though it wasn’t their fault. They reviewed the security tapes and said they made a noteof those movers for the future.The follow up and concern for a customer impressed me and I was expecting the feedback to go to a corporate office. My issues were all resolved by the local staff and I’m happy to recommend them.

Can I give negative stars? I have been here for 14 years. This is the 3rd company to take over and by far the worst. They increase the rent 2 - 3 times a year, theyve crammed a new storage unit into any and every nook and cranny. Theyve taken out the bathrooms and will not allow you into the office any more. Weve been broken into, and then they tried to raise the rent AGAIN. When I objected, they kicked us out. The office workers here are not friendly at all. Security is a joke. Please do not rent here, go anywhere else.

I found myself suddenly facing a big move out of a place I had lived at for twenty years and I knew I would need a storage unit. Ive accompanied friends over the years to various different storage places but the best by far is Self Storage Units off Wardlow Road in Long Beach. I went on line and reserved a unit and the next day when I went to the office I met Brian who was very helpful and showed me the facility. It is very clean, great access to units and I ended up getting a bigger unit than the one I reserved. I was still given the on-line discount and Brian explained everything in detail. The first step to a big move- and a great choice.

I have had my unit for over 2 years. The prices continue to go up. They have added an additional unit near the only entrance to the indoor storage unit closest to Norwalk to try and squeeze out more money and you can hardly get the cart through the door and around the new unit. I am paying for an indoor storage unit in part for climate control and they appear to no longer run the climate control as it was hotter inside than outside. They changed the entrance code system and did not even let me know that they gave me a new code.Worst of all is that I just discovered my unit was broken into and management seemed to hardly care. They obviously knew it had been broken into as they had repaired the chicken wire that was cut away that is all that is in place to protect the unit from the top. They said to call the police to file a report and then try and sort out what is missing and damaged. They indicated that multiple units were broken into assuming this was the same time as the others. The very clear lack of concern and even the simplest of compassion after just discovering this violation just added salt to a very fresh wound.Bottom line - they are cutting back services, increasing prices, poor security, and general lack of caring. One star is a bit too much for this place.
