Incredible Customer Service! Let’s face it, we all know that renting anything can come with a headache or two but Michael at Extra Space storage was so incredibly helpful, kind and clear that he made my storage space rental process a total breeze! What I had been putting off for months now was able to get checked off my list in under an hour. Im not the one to ever leave reviews, actually my first time. I would not recommend it! At first it seem great because of all the reviews and was my first time renting a storage unit. 2 months later or so, the price went up AND saw spiders and rat feces, even ask another customer if they had any feces in their unit and they did! I dont know about the other locations, or other storage units having similar issues but this sadly just wasnt it.

I’ve had great experience working with this Extra Space branch. I must say that Rasheda is an incredible member of the staff at this location. She is very kind, understanding, and great at finding solutions to help meet customer needs. Employees like her are the reason I will continue to rent space at this location.

This place isnt managed very well because theres always broken things and stuff that needs to be repaired. For the last month and a half or more they have not repaired lights or replaced lights in the storage unit hallways so its impossible for you to see its Pitch Black. For the last 2 months as well the sliding doors have not been working and you have to manually close them. Whoevers managing this place is not doing a good job and making the company look bad

I’ve been renting maybe a year. My rates increased like the 2nd month. The male manager was awesome . This new manager Rasheeda is very unprofessional. I was behind set to auction, so I called and asked them to lower some of the fees this lady blocked me, never contacted the area manager. I guess she thought I wasn’t going to pay it. Well I did and I had to contact 1800 number just to speak with an area manager, which I felt she was very nonchalant about it. There shouldn’t be a manager, that takes her job so personal that she blocks customers from contacting the store .

I have been absolutely delighted and amazed by the service provided to me from Extra Space Storage. Before the pandemic I put my stuff in storage. It was only supposed to be there for 2 months. However, I ended up having my stuff stay in storage for 2 years. Now, they got me in with a great rate! Now, the price did go up over time, but they did give me several month until that rate slowly changed. Additionally, their rates were always lower than everyone else. One might ask But how was the facility? It was excellent! Always clean! Easy access! And my unit was inside so it was convenient and safe. My stuff looked like I had just put it in the day before. Everything was found in great condition, including my beds, clothing, and other fabrics. I highly recommend this location to anyone. Moving out was easy and fast as well, by the way. Do yourselves a favor, stick with this one and you will be paying less than everyone else and will have peace of mind that your stuff is in good hands.

He went far and above to make sure the unit, which was beyond clean and ready, was ready, and even helped put my first load. The space is clean and the online contract registration is nice and easy. But there’s is a dirty trick they use when you sign the contract online: they never tell you you have to call them 15 days in advance before your next billing cycle to vacate. So the prorated rate is never applied, they will just charge the whole month. I’ve used other storage places and they never have this kind of misinforming prorated policy before. You have to read the fine print in the lease agreement and they will not verbally to you on the phone when you are signing the contact online.

Overall great experience at Extra Space Storage in West Sacramento. Fair pricing and easy to access if you live in downtown Sacramento. The process was quick and easy, allowed us to start utilizing the storage space the following day. If you plan to stop by to sign up, call ahead. We didn’t call ahead and the employee was at lunch, so we had to wait a little bit, but that’s our fault for not calling before showing up.

I parked my truck there for sometime and I had a piece of mind because it was safe. The compound is gated and they have security cameras everywhere. I parked my business truck there and they were very accommodating based on my needs. Pete was very helpful everytime I needed something. He is an awesome person to deal with and he has a very positive attitude. I hope he gets a raise :)

We have had great luck with E.S.S. but last week was disappointing, to say the least . We needed a larger locker to store our items so I went in to handle the switch. I was told by the manager that my husband was the only one who could do that. She checked and my name was in the account. She has taken almost every payment from me for the monthly rental.I gave her the option to allow me to switch the account I would get a noterized letter that gave me power of attorney and they said it was the policy of the company to allow only the first person to close out the account. Tom has moved away and has offered a video call and other possibilities that might solve the problem all she said was NO NO NO! Im sure this has nothing to do with prejudice against us?🤔😡 RIGHT!?!?!?????

Excellent customer service, clean and hourly...But every 4th or 5th month the company changes your charges, it means if you start paying $100 cuz you get the price on line in the 4th month you go to pay $200 they change your rate to the market price... I believe its unfair I try with customers service to keep my rate but the only give me a temporary discount to think if I still there or I move.... Im so disappointed

Just had my rate raised 70%! Beware of their prices, they are not forever and just will keep going up and upEdit: the below automated response is bogus. They didn’t budge, insist that having my rent double in just 1.5 years is purely the market. Yet they were trying to charge me 20% more than a new customer. Nothing they say makes any sense. I took my stuff and moved across town and will save money even accounting for the price to rent the movers and uhaul. Beware if you are going to store your things for more than just a few months, they’ll try and milk you dry for all you’re worth and do not value long term customers at all.

This is so easy! First, I signed up online, easy to do. Before I even stepped foot on the property, I knew which storage unit I had been assigned. When I arrived at the facility I was greeted very warmly by the manager. We toured the property, after which the policies and general conditions of the rental agreement were explained. Total time start to finish, less than 20 minutes!Many pluses, the facility is convenient, well maintained, and offers attractive pricing. I have been with this storage for five years. The facility itself is clean, secure, and easy to access. The staff have always been courteous, dependable, and helpful. Because I live in another state, the past manager would periodically check my storage to ensure everything looked OK. Most recently, and with a different manager, Andel, so nicely helped me with a very stressful situation where the company who was supposed to move my storage contents kept changing dates on me. I came into this location in West Sacramento to just price the area rather than going a bit further to South Sac. The customer service that I witnessed was above and beyond and it wasnt even with me; it was with a gentleman that was speaking Spanish. I saw the store manager at this location using his phone to translate an entire conversation back and forth between himself and the customer. It was almost second nature to just find a solution to provide the best experience he could. I could see the customer was so satisfied and I thought why in the world do more people not do this! Not saying anything about the other folks lol but she’s killing the game ! She was soooo proactive, considerate, helpful, energetic, professional all while being effective in her job. One phone call and she helped me do something I’ve been trying to figure out for weeks whether it’s calling or emailing in or calling the support line etc I’ve not been able to get any sort of help on the direction I needed! The units look great and the price is great as well. Experience has been good with contacts with manager on the phone and at the site. Only minus is that once it came time to rent, was confronted with potential upcharge of $63 a month for coverage of items ( up to 10k). Would rather have been notified clearly of this in advance. Also there was a one time 24$ fee to start up. So, I recommend that people watch out for these unexpected charges upon startup.

Since moving in here they have routinely increased the rent to the point where I am paying a few dollars shy of double the original cost. I had attempted to provide my own insurance to cover the unit and went over the whole process with the woman in the office only to later find out that it was never transitioned over and I have been being charged in additional fee every month for the cost of their insurance. I love the people at Marconi Ave. in Sacramento. Daniel in particular is really personable, friendly, always upbeat & professional. I went in yesterday. It was Daniels day off & Brandee, who doesnt work usually work at this location, helped me. She was so cute also friendly & very helpful. I had to get a new lock & she took her time to go w/ me to the unit. I very recently had hip replacement surgery & am limping w/ a cane. Even though she is at work I feel she was being genuine. I think she would have helped even if it wasnt her job. I think Daniel would too. They deserve a raise for being really good employees & they are very nice women! Thanks!I took 1 star off & if this was a single review I would have given only 1 star because there was a leak in the unit. Of course it ruined antique family photos memorabilis & paper work. There was stuff from the 1800s. Thats really upsetting...That was important stuff!! There were unimportant things that I really dont care about that didnt get ruined. That had nothing to do w/ Daniel or Brandee. Besides that the place is very clean.

I help find this rental for a displaced veteran. He has only had it approximatly 10 days. His storage was infested with roaches. He had no roaches before he put his things in there. Once he complained someone cut off his lock went through his stuff. He did have a bag of canned food only. They accused him of living there which is a lie because he had been with me. Now he has 24 hours to get his things out. This is wrong on so many levels. I will be calling corporate on this issue Monday!!!

I have only good things to say about Extra Space and the West Sacramento facility especially. I have used other companies before in other states and this company far outshines any others in my experience. The facilities are new-looking and I often see people cleaning here. The staff is unfailingly professional and helpful. I am impressed by their use of technology for paperwork and security. I could do without the mandatory insurance but I think their rates overall are fair. I have recommended this company to others and will continue to use it and recommend it to others.

This place used to be great. They were reasonably priced and good customer service. It’s all gone down hill. I have had units with them for years. They started increasing prices constantly, you can expect price increases every month. They give discounts to get you in, then rack up the price. They are now so out of line with the rest of Sacramento that I have a storage facility in a nice part of East Sacramento that is significantly cheaper then here in West Sacramento. Further, they show no loyalty to their long term customers. Moving so needed another facility, bit the bullet on price as they are near the house I am selling. Called expressed I needed another unit and to put on my credit card. Showed up a couple days later on my first day off, and was told that they no longer do holds, and that they gave the last unit away. I said why? And they said people go online/call but never rent. Sure if l was some dude off the street... but I have two units with them and a 5 year relationship. Didn’t even offer to discount other units to get me near the price I would have been paying. Well you can gouge me for a month but you will be losing my companies long term business, as I might be forced now to work with you but I am now motivated to move all my units somewhere else.

I have never rented before and it was timely and stressful to say the least. The ASM (Brandee) was awesome, a true breath of fresh air! The Day I moved in I went back for a second load and discovered I lost the keys to the lock of the unit, I called Brandee on the company phone and told her what happened happened, she said no problem and that she would assist me she she could as she was working with two other customers at the same time. She came up with the document for me to sign to allow her to cut the lock off and she wrestled with it for a few minutes but was successful, got me a new lock and I was on my way in no time. She never showed any sign of stress and was pleasant from the moment I met her to the time I left. I wish people would’ve shown stress and Just satisfaction having to juggle three customers at once.I would hire her in a minute if I were looking for an employee, as I know she would complement the team as well as work into a leader ship role. In the times that we are dealing with and E firemen meet we are in, she was a blessing to work with.

I support the brand but my recent experience with a new unit in West Sacramento could have been better. Elevator #1 is inoperative...stuck on the second floor and will not call to the first. Had to use the east side, elevator 2, to move in furniture...opposite end of where my unit is. Other deficiencies here...only one utility cart for the whole damn place. Had to wait today just to move a large cabinet.

Extra space storage has raised my rates 70% in one year. My rate started at $150 and is now $310. That’s an $80 rent increase every six months.This company is a bait and switch. They Lure you in with low rates, then immediately start raising. Their contract is PREDITORY. They understand that once you’ve moved in, you’re unlikely to relocate because of cost, time, and logistics. You are then a prime target for their predatory price gouging.They will respond to these reviews with jargon about “month to month” and “market rates”, However these arguments don’t hold up when compared to the systematic price gouging. I understand what they are doing is legal because I signed a contract, however it is horrible business practice.I’m writing this review as a CAUTION, if you are shopping for storage anywhere in the United States, DO NOT RENT FROM EXTRA SPACE STORAGE.

After storing my stuff at a different storage facility for several years, I decided to move my stuff to Extra Space in order to cut down on fees. Initially, I was pleased with the rate I was given but like clockwork every 10 months or so, the rates go up. Now, Im paying nearly double what I started at. When I spoke with the management about this, they were dismissive and said if I wasnt happy with the price of my storage that I could pack up my stuff and go elsewhere. They clearly dont value their customers.Warning: the high rating of this place is the result of a $10 incentive by the company. Extra Space offers customers $10 if they provide a 5 star rating.

When I first started renting my storage was like $45.00 and It went up over time mind you to over $200.00 so I down sized to a cheaper one and it was like around $75.00 that was a year ago if that and its up to $104.00 now. And another thing not them but someone went in and put another lock on my storage so I couldnt get into my own storage. You would think they would do whatever it took to find out who for me. They wouldnt let me look at the footage so I could see if I knew the person. They said they would look at it but how are they going to know if I know the person or not. The manager and assistant manager are dishonest. They discriminate, by refusing equal service based on random qualities, not to do with renting from them.I shouldnt have rented here, and I wish I had gone someplace else. Also the facility has indoor units that are air conditioned, but the temperature is only a few degrees lower inside than the temperature outside- which may or may not be adequate for my photo albums and expensive candles, etc. ( Im skeptical) its not cooled for the comfort of your movers. There are mice and wasps, and its a dramatic problem when Ive mentioned those pests ( I didnt move in with pests) also, anything i have had too close to the door has been slathered with gelatinous floor wax that is carelessly splashed under the small crack under the rolling entrance door.Go somewhere else if you want to keep your things safe and protected.Do yourself a favor and find another place to store your belongings.
