Im totally disappointed and dissatisfied with my 10x10 increasing double within 3 months. I explained in the beginning I was looking for a long term rental and was looking for the best rate. I was told that they make increases bi yearly after the fact. That is not what I signed up for. It sounds like cooperate capitol gains and greed. Chris has exceptional customer service. He listened to me complain. Its not fair to him to have to explain to customers that theres nothing he can do. Through my concerns he did try to help me however I did not intend on the 10x10 to cost 200 or more by the end of this year. If youre doing a promo deal online please pay attention to the fine print and ask for clarification because this information will not be volunteered to you. Had I known that I would have went on ahead and went for a better option. I basically got two months for the promo price. To start up I had to pay full price. Very misleading.

PLEASE DO NOT STORE YOUR ITEMS HERE. After allowing my unit to get broken into and robbed, the office staff were completely unhelpful & even annoyed at my desperation. They spent DAYS & WEEKS claiming they would review the camera footage when they had time. They did however have time to fix my burgled unit & have it re-rented asap though. The staff & company cared more about fixing the old unit door, than to help me as a customer get any of my precious items back. I spent weeks waiting to hear back from anyone just to finally be told we dont know if the camera angles can catch anything. The cameras set up around this location are offering a huge false sense of security. They will not and can not help you if (or when) the unthinkable happens. Cherry on top, this company coerces/forces you to leave a five review when you first sign up. This whole ordeal has left me DEVESTATED, losing so many of my life belongings & a company more interested in their own bottom line. Please start to care about your customers and what we safely want to store.

Be Wary of this company ...Needed a place to put some extra stuff... Got a promo rate for only 3 months... And then shot up like 24% or something... and now bill was due on 1/17... On 1/22 they put a lein and are changing $120 on top of last month and next month and insurance... This is ridiculous. Never have I been out on a lein for being just over the bill date... I understand after 60 days as is the standard in the industry. Also when I moved in I had to pay a mandatory fee for a lock. Which was the wrong lock anyways so I couldnt even use it to lock up when I first brought my stuff... Thankfully I had a lock that fit already and even told that to the staff but it didnt matter I was still charged $20 for a lock I couldnt use.... edit... I did speak with corporate and they were much more receptive to my issues and Im waiting for a response from someone. So I did update my rate of them to 2 stars.

Do not rent from them.They will raise your storage rent within the 1st 4 - 6 months. My unit was infested with mice and roaches. I had NO FOOD stored in my storage and l have OCD and I am a very clean person. I had items damaged twice. Good thing I had insurance on my unit. If you take a chance and store your belongings here, you BEST get the insurance for your unit. Its a chance your unit my be one of those like mine that were infested with mice and roaches and you my have some of your precious items stored here damaged like I did and have to take your precious memories to the dump get rid of them due to mice urine and feces all on and inside then all on and in your furniture, beds, kitchen items and clothing. Find another storage location one friend to another...

James provided excellent service and knowledgeable in his job. All the costs were broken down, rental plan was clearly laid out, and what-if scenarios were pretty much covered. So far so good with the initial process but I will have to find out how the communication goes when theres crazy upcharges, unexpected accidents at the storage location, etc.

I spoke with 2 different representatives over the phone they were vary helpful and kind great customer service and great prices and they were upfront with all of the pricings so I was not caught off guard when it came to paying.Very nice facility very clean great location right off the freeway and I was able to handle all paperwork over the phone and online and was able to go straight to my unit without having to stop into the office and I found it very easy to use the gate access code and navigate to my storage unit.Very happy with my experience.*UpdateI just spoke with a Chris and he was very helpful in changing some things on my lease that better accommodate me at this time and I appreciate how fast he handled everything and I was able to get my lease updated within less then an hour paperwork and all over the phone and via email I didn’t have to drive up to the store at all so it made it very convenient for me. Beware they will double your monthly cost in less than a year. I originally signed up for $108 a month for a 10x10 storage unit, after only 2 months they increased my bill to $188 a month. Now (after only having my storage unit for 8 months in total) I just got a letter in the mail stating they are increasing my cost to over $280 a month!!! How is my bill almost almost 3x more than what I originally signed up for and it’s only been 8 months!! Other facilities only charge 90-150 for a 10x10 so almost $300 is outrageous!! I will be looking for a new storage unit and I advise anyone to stay away who doesn’t like their bill being increased 2-3 a year!!!

Place is infested with mice probably rats I’m not sure but I know when I went to move my items out there were small black little pebbles everywhere in groups especially towards the back and front of my unit.Thankfully I had all my clothes in Bins with tops. But I had to throw a few items out because they were in some of my boxes that was only covered partially…Ugh! I’ll never rent from this place again!PLEASE BEWARE!!!

The service here is wonderful. When I fist started moving things into my small unit I realized I had too much stuff. I went back to the main office to change to a larger unit. Chris assisted me and made it as easy as possible. The facility is clean and they have the tools to help carry my belongings to my unit. I would highly recommend this facility to friends in need of storage.

I have had half a one bedroom apts worth of stuff at Extra Space for 3.5 YEARS now. Far longer than I intended. Every year theres a rate hike. I got this years hike and compared it to the cost of a new unit and a new unit was dramatically cheaper. I reserved a new unit online and then went in and talked to James. He was VERY respectful and empathetic. Instead of having to make me move all my stuff to a new unit, he reached out to the general manager to see if they could just adjust my rate since Id been such a good customer for so long. The GM said no, so I removed a couple stars from my rating. Im in the process of moving my stuff to a new unit, which is troublesome because I have medical issues, but itll be worth it financially. Its still the cheapest storage around and its very close to my home. Theyve got great security. They act quickly on any suspicious activity. There are fields nearby so they put extra efforts into pest control and as long as I dont have food in my unit, I havent had any issues. Other than the GM saying no to the rate adjustment request, theyve always been very nice, professional, and accommodating.

The ES staff was/has been great! The young lady that enrolled us in November 2021/recently Philip when I contacted the office early this morning. My reason for contacting the office was due to a significant space increase and miscommunication on the mail/notification process. Philip explained the policies and procedures well. However, in response, I asked if I could speak with Corporate or his Manager. Not that he hadn’t done his job, but because I wanted to petition my request as I have to travel end of week and didn’t know about the significant current month increase. Philip told me he’d check into it and I’d probably hear back in a couple of days. Well, Philip called me in about an hour or so with blessed news! In spite of the mail miscommunication (us), but more importantly, because of our excellent performance, returning customers and account management, a full credit (difference between the old/new rate) had been processed!!!! Yes! Customer Service at its finest. With everyday necessities going up, everyone is trying to best plan and budget financially to continue to meet monthly obligations. We appreciate how our situation was handled. Nice meeting you Philip and thanks again to you/your Management Team for resolving this matter quickly.

My belongings have been at this storage unit for almost 3 years. Everyone that has worked at this location has been magnificent to work with!! Everything is always clean, well supervised, very good security, helpful and knowledgeable staff. I’ve never had any kind of issues with any kind of bugs or rats or anything. Not to mention that I have lived in Georgia the whole time that all of my belongings have been in California at this location in Sacramento. If I ever need another storage unit for any thing I will definitely come to this Extra Space Storage! Thank you!

Today I received a phone message telling me that I hadn’t correctly locked my storage unit. Phil said that he was concerned for my possessions and could I come over to Re lock the unit. He also offered to help me out if I had difficulties with my lock.Of course, I quickly went over and rechecked the unit’s lock. Phil was correct!! I made an error. I appreciate that he noticed it and only after less than 24 hrs since my unit visit!!Now I’m positively sure that I made the right decision in choosing Extra Space Storage at 8051 E Stockton Blvd. Sacramento.If it was possible, I’d give Extra Space Storage ten stars for hiring Phil as the manager. It looks all good at first but this is my smaller of the two units Ive have there and it took less than 2 weeks to be infested with field rats I have photos and video showing both Live and dead . And when asked about the problem managements response was oh yeah, around the time you moved this place was infested but we almost got it down to 50%. Then they canceled my units insurance the next day and I lost everything.

This was the absolute worst experience ever, total bait and switch I started off paying $55.00 for a 5X10 unit which was great after 6 months they tried to double it and my card was on auto pay so they charged my card without authorization I called and complained and they said the best they could do was $70 I Hesitantly agreed because all my stuff was already there then after a year of paying $70.00 They slapped me with $170 charge for that little 5x10 unit I was paying $55 for originally so I loaded my truck up and got all my stuff out today! Do not do business with these people nothing but a headache total scam they must be paying for there reviews or something!!! Also one of the employees I spoke with was so incredibly rude but unfortunately can’t remember his name!

The site manager Phil was extremely helpful in getting me set up with my storage unit. Phone transaction was quick and he sent over the rental agreement papers quickly. He was upfront with me about vehicle storage guidelines which was good. The 10x30 unit itself was as expected. Single bulb on a timer, not the cleanest (kind of dusty, holes in walls where rodents can get in, one big live cockroach found). Its not an indoor temp controlled unit but well priced for the size. I might look elsewhere for longer term storage, or at least I would make sure all my things are sealed.

This review is long over due. Charge it to my head and not my heart. I had the pleasure of having Phil handle my account when I call to see if they had availability for a transfer from a larger unit to the same size unit so i could go through and rearrange my storage over time. Phil worked with me and got me a smaller unit right across from the larger one and reminded me of the discounts. This made my tedious task of going through my storage a lot less stressful. I needed to do this for my upcoming relocation to AZ. I recommend Extra Space storage and Phil for your storage needs.

On my move in day, I was having such a rough move. But the gal who moved me in was so nice and friendly. She was supposed to go to lunch right before I got there but she stayed longer to assist me. I had an amazing experience at this facility from first point of contact via telephone with Teresa I knew I was in good hands. Once I arrived she took complete care of me and I was done within 10 to 15 minutes and thats with viewing the storage that I am renting. I just started utilizing the storage 2 days ago and I received a call today while I was at work stating that I need to call them and its important.
