I had my items at Extra Space Storage (El Segundo, CA) for over a year and it was an awesome experience. The facility is professionally well kept and clean. My items were in always great shape. Mark was extremely professional and helpful. He answered all of my questions and made the move in/out seamless. Robert also tracked any updates to my account and was kind and competent. They have a wonderful reliable team and I highly recommend.

I have had my unit here since early 2020.The unit is made from a good, solid material (no bugs or anything), and the area is clean and easily accessible. Customer service is always great, specially Mark who is always helpful and professional.

I have had my storage for about a year and a half. The folks at this site are phenomenal! The site is kept clean, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Especially Mark. Very seamless experience. The site I enjoy because of the garage key entry and multiple access points depending on the location of your storage unit. Usually pretty quiet and safe. The other renters are friendly and mostly keep to themselves.Unless you know for certain the use can only be temporary, I would highly recommended paying for the year term. It will absolutely save you money in the long-run and lock in your price.The reason I’m rating 4 stars is mainly 2 things… the fluctuating surge pricing of the storage unit and the limited access times.It is very common to raise the rent on the unit every few months. The increase is just outrageous. I would assume it is the nature of the market in the region and not specifically Extra Space. Also, they notify you of the increase in price by mailing a small innocuous postcard. Even though you get other “Important Update” notices by email, price increases are not included. The notice of price changes goes into affect within 30 days. So just off putting. Though, one positive in this, you can often work with the site on discussing alternative options due to impacts of the increase which I have found to be very fair given the circumstances.The storage unit is inaccessible after 7pm most days and after 4pm on Sundays. Even with your own code you cannot access. That timeframe is way too limiting especially for what is being paid. I pulled up at 8pm one day and was sorely shocked, so just be mindful and plan accordingly.

I just signed up with Extra Space Storage and will start my rental in April. I had a very nice gentleman, Kevin to help me on the phone. I found his suggestions and direction very helpful and he was very patient with me since this was a new experience for me. I have not been to the storage location, but I picked El Segundo since it is a nice area and little town.

I will change this review if these people actually call me today like they said they were going to and decide to NOT raise my rate by $100 dollars so i have to move to another facility. there’s like 2 dollies on-site and you can never find them. no one ever working. rooms suck and don’t have lights, and they like to play around on rate with you and have some guy call you like it’s a negotiation. you have my number, just let me know if i need to move or not!edit, as promised; still insane that i had to get called multiple times by a rep at this place who treated the rate of the empty room i already pay for as a negotiation, but i guess moving forward thats to be expected. place is fineSECOND EDIT; because security is so poor on-site, theyve now changed it so that you can only access your unit during their normal business hours. so if you work a normal 9-5 and deal with LA traffic, good luck every getting access to your things. youll notice the owners reply to this saying that periodically theyll adjust the rate due to market value, and apparently that value has gone UP while also allowing them to offer a worse product to their customers. after hours customer service doesnt know anything, and then youll get the lovely process of talking to multiple other representatives during their business hours while it gets escalated. personally, i love having to talk to my storage unit on the phone multiple times a week during work to discuss all of the changes constantly happening to the 5 room i pay for with no lights. thanks again extra space storage!

Extra Space Storage was great, held my household goods for several months. Irene was super friendly and helpful on helping me move out. Only complaint would that the infrastructure of the property is on a hill so it can be a pain when you have a cart, but other than that my experience was amazing and I highly recommend if your in the South Bay Area.

Mark and Irene were super helpful. We rented a 5x15 unit online to store a 11’ long 2’ diameter tube we use to store large, unstretched canvas paintings. There was no way to get the tube into the storage unit, so Mark transferred us to another unit that was easier to access from the street and a cinch to move into. This is the place y’all.

I had not previously ever used a storage facility. I selected this location because it was conveniently located, appeared to be very clean, well lit, and the Assistant Manager could not be more professional and pleasant. However, the security of this facility is what is most important to me (and the primary factor for me choosing this facility). The Extra Space Storage website, and the specific website for this location express how important the security of the items are to the company. The site specifically mentions sentimental items. As I have learned from reading so much about storage facilities, they basically take no responsiblity for the items stored.This is directly from their website -- still posted to this day:When storing valuable or sentimental belongings in self storage, you want to know that they’re safe. At Extra Space Storage, we strive to provide a safe storage environment and peace of mind for our customers by utilizing the latest security features.With the above type of advertising on their website, one gains some confidence in this companys concern for security. Just about all my personal items I entrusted to store them at this facility. These boxes included so many items, to include from my nearly 30 years of military service.For the first five years and two months, the only issue I had was when the facility was painted. Clearly the painters did not properly seal off the gaps between the door bottom and floor as I discovered considerable white paint dust on my boxes. During that time, the price of the unit was frequently raised, and I continued paying as required, without complaint. However, sometime between the five year and two month mark to the six year and eight month mark, my unit was burglarized. The combination lock, which I had purchased from Extra Space Storage upon first renting the unit (in part, due to a misplaced trust in the product the company was offering) had been manipulated at the bottom. Upon attempting to open the lock, the rolling numbers would not turn. Even at that point, I simply could not imagine that someone had burglarized my most important possessions. The Extra Space Storage employee cut the lock after I signed the authorization, the door was opened, and I was shocked (devastated) to find that all my boxes were not only in different order than I had placed them, but I immediately could see that many items and storage bins were missing. One large storage container contained so much sports memorabililia with so many old mint condition sports cards (to include some tremendously valuable rookie cards). The other storage bin contained both sentimental and valuable items to include every single photo I had from early childhood until the modern digital time.The Police Officers with El Segundo Police Department were truly professional, and took a report. Most importantly, they expressed sympathy for all that I had lost. Although I completely feel that I was naive to ever think all those items were safe at this facility, I was assured by the El Segundo Police Department that I am not alone in having been burglarized of very valuable items at these storage facilities.As I was recently reading the reviews on Yelp, I was surprised to see others who have been burglarized at this facility. To include many years ago. With that type of record, I am surprised that the company has not implemented more effective security measures.

New access hours make all property inside including cars unavailable after 4pm Sundays and after 7pm Mon-Saturday making the entire business completely useless to anyone who wants or needs to access their belongings. Showed up at 5pm from the airport one Sunday to find this out first hand as it used to be accessible until 10pm and was a great and convenient place. Unless they immediately revert to useable access hours I will be finding another storage space with usable access hours.No idea why they did this but my one guess would be excessive corporate executive greed trying to serve shareholders and investors rather than their own customers. Extremely dissappointed, dissatisfied and greatly inconvenienced now having to pay for ride shares because I can’t get my own car out of the garage where I pay to park it. Disgusted. This place deserves a negative 10 score. Had to put 1 star because it makes you.

Extra Space itself has been a professional, clean, secure & affordable space, but Mark has gone the extra mile to keep me up to date with my storage unit over the past 2+ years. I was in desperate need of a place to safely store my car before the holidays and was looking everywhere for open spots. I couldn’t find any good options and happened to see that this location had a spot available. I made a reservation online, and Lisa made sure to call me to confirm and finalize my lease. I was able to come in the next day and meet with Lisa and Mark to complete the rental process. Mark kindly showed me to my reserved parking spot and told me everything I needed to know about entering and exiting the facility. This was my first time renting from a storage facility, and Lisa patiently guided me through completing all the necessary steps to finalize my rental. The process was quick and went smoothly. We were able to get everything finished within 15 minutes. The facility was very secure, and I had no doubts that my car was going to be safe while I was gone. One drawback (hence, the 4-star rating) is when using the online system at Extra Space, a standard template is used to describe & detail the relative size of the units at a given facility.This was very apparent when finalizing my rental transaction at the location I chose. Upon being shown the unit, though the dimensions (W + L) were as advertised, the ceiling space (or airspace) was too low for my needs.As such, I was prepared to obtain space at another nearby facility. However, the facility manager went the extra mile to show a different unit - still within certain parameters - that ended up being much better suited for my needs. Kudos for the great customer service.Full disclosure - I had rented space from this same facility some 4 to 5 years ago. The site management was excellent at that time. Only reason for leaving at that time was monthly rent eventually exceeded my budget.

Wow! First off, I want to give a huge shout-out to Mark Yob - Asst. Store Manager. I spoke to him over the phone and he was able to answer all my questions. I had some trouble with the online reservation, but he was able to correct everything for me.The facility is amazing. Nice and clean. I love the safety of the enclosed access. I have been renting a storage space at this facility for three years now. I needed to upgrade my storage so I dropped by a couple of weeks ago. Lisa was very friendly, welcoming and greeted me at the door. She answered all of my questions and since I wasnt ready to vacate the storage space that I have previously occupied, she reassured me that there were enough spaces available to upgrade to the next size up and to come back when was ready.I finally was able to do the move last week. I spoke with Mark this time over the phone to make sure they were open the day after Thanksgiving. Mark, too, was very welcoming and answered all of my question. I told him I needed to upgrade and he toured me the next size up and made sure that it wasnt too far away from my previous storage space so the move wouldnt be difficult. Great customer service and incredibly friendly management. Lisa was able to set me up with everything I needed over the phone, before I even arrived. The storage space was big and easily accessible. If you’re storing large furniture make sure you ask for a corner unit, otherwise you may not be able to turn your couch/fridge/desk/etc. into the unit. Luckily, Lisa hooked me up with the corner unit without me even asking. I might have been screwed otherwise.My only other warning to others would be that the parking lot for this location is on a hill. The (free) dollys that they have will often roll away when you try and use them. If you’re unloading large, heavy furniture from a truck then the sloped parking lot might be an annoying problem for you. Otherwise, 10/10!

Actually this is a mixed review. I have had a locker at their Wardlow/Long Beach CA facility and have been satisfied with their service until now…So my review of Mondays experience in short?Extra Space Corporate? Absolute evil. Personnel at both the Long Beach and El Segundo locations? Good people ALL. So what happened you asked? Let me tell you…Monday morning, April 25, 2022 at 8ish a.m. I was on the Extra Space website and saw a 5x5 storage locker on websale for $59 per month which I immediately grabbed as a rental (not a 7 day free reserve, an option which was also offered on the site at this same time). When I came to checkout after providing all the information the site requested, the website said my checkout failed. However (a big one), my money ($116) had indeed been immediately debited from my Discover Bank checking account. At this time the local El Segundo store wouldn’t open for at least another hour. So I called the corporate office and explained to customer service person what happened, after which, she put me on hold to check what happened to me.Upon her returned she explained the issue was mute because in the time it took for me to call their corporate offices in Utah (a couple of minutes) the storage space in question had been rented out an there was nothing she could do even though I must have clearly reserved it first. WTF#%=!!!!No matter how I pointed out that my ATM card has been debited despite what their website (which had been undergoing maintenance the night before) said, she said their was nothing she could do BUT offer me an identical locker not on websale for double the price ($99). I then asked for a supervisor and after talking to her (Bri) said she’d have a local supervisor call me within 48 hours (it’s now been 72 hours), still waiting………………………………………….Can we say ‘bait and switch’? However, the money they took from my Discover account was quickly refunded back to my account. So what happened next?I needed a locker immediately so I rented the space at the El Segundo location that was double the price of my initial attempted purchase. However when doing so, I got the distinct intuition that they were going to raise even the price of my new locker ($99) in the next 4-5 months. LAME!!!You know I don’t get it! I’ve done business with Mormons Enterprises, many times to a positive outcome, but these folks? Let’s just assume they’re are not Mormons, because I certainly didn’t feel like I was treated morally or ethically. I never got a call, text or email (or offered any accommodation for what was clearly a tech mishap on their side) even though I’ve had an account with them for years.I have no idea if this BS is normal or abnormal for the industry. So… If this is how you’d want to be treated several years into a rental arrangement? Go Extra Space, otherwise????Good luck everyone?PS if anything changes with this situation and the review guidelines allow, I’ll let you know. Peace!

Storage isnt something I would typically review unless I was giving a bad review. This place deserves a great review.Clean, secure and convenient.Mark Yob made the process painless. There was an issue day 1 and he fixed it immediately. Initially I thought he was the owner because of his follow up and follow through.Clean, secure, convenient and great service makes this a 5 star storage facility.

I had an amazing experience when I went to sign up for a unit. Mark was so nice, efficient, knowledgeable and honest. He showed me how to get to my unit, where the elevators are, and answered all my questions. The facility is clean, really accessible, and I found a really good deal online. Highly recommend this facility!

Extra Space on El Segundo is convenient [next to LAX], safe, easy to get to [no traffic puzzles], secure, clean, well run and affordable. I cant say enough about the facility. However, like all things it is about the people. The staff here is EXCELLENT! They are courteous, super helpful, understanding, compassionate and always go out of their way for us.We do a lot of trade shows in CA and use this facility to store our banners, AV equipment and supplies and it has been the best decision we have ever made. No more last minute expensive shipping, just store the stuff here until we inevitably need it again. Thanks Extra Storage for being do amazing!

Fantastic experience. Both Shaley(sp?) who took my call this morning at corporate office, and Mark, who met me onsite to show me the space, were great. Super-quick turnaround, great deal since no contracts and prorated time. I discovered I needed storage at 11a, I had the space rented and available within less than 30 minutes! Thank you!

They were most adamant in requesting a Google review, which I dont mind, but seemed a bit urgent.Regardless, the woman on staff (I think lisa but I forget) helped me find an amazing 10x12 with a roll up door right by the very front elevator. Extremely helpful, very nice and excellent customer service. This will be the third time Ive been a customer here and will keep coming back when I need to store stuff in between moving or just for whatever. Beach climate keeps it nice and cool and is the equivalent of climate control which helps keep items in good condition.
