Kevin at the stearns location is absolutely UH-MAZE-ZING to say the least….He did absolutely everything possible to get me the cheapest, yet best available options that fit my needs. Great customer service, completely patient, and just all around perfect. I paid for a 5X5 elsewhere and he was able to get me my money back and a 10X10 for less than half the cost of the other in a short amount of time.I recommend to anyone and everyone !!!Thanks again and forever Kevin! 🥹😀😄👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The units are clean and well-kept, and the place is quite secure. The staff at this location are helpful and courteous with every interaction. We have rented 2 spaces here for the past 4 years and have absolutely loved it. The staff is all extremely helpful and nice, everything is clean, easy to use online portal, and the facility is secure with gates/ pin pads with cameras. If you need any help go talk to Dan Daniels and he will work with you. He has exceptional customer service, goes out of his way to help, and worked some miracles for us! Definitely recommend this place and Dan (he’s the store manager)!

Dan must have been in a bad mood on February 3rd when I called to make a payment and he acted perturbed and chided me when I couldnt remember my unit #. I didnt like the way he spoke to me, told him so, and hung up. He immediately called me back in a tough guy voice and warned me never to speak to him again like that, but he never told me the or else, perhaps he was going to find me and teach me a lesson. In any event, he came across as a thug so I will move to another storage facility this month where I dont have to deal with him.

We had a fantastic experience this past week when securing a storage space. The assistant manager we dealt with- Gabriela- is the best. She answered all our questions and then some and even gave us a great local food recommendation that we tried immediately. The space is clean. The site is well maintained with cameras and an on-site manager 24-7. So far, so good in our experience with Extra Space Storage.UPDATE- A few months after we secured a storage space, the price jumped significantly without warning. I reached out to the manager, Dan, who was able to work things out for us and keep our monthly payment to what was promised initially. While the situation wasn’t ideal, we do appreciate the communication and great customer service. Thanks

I had such a wonderful experience with Simi Valley Extra Space Storage! It was only home to my belongings for a short while, but the facility was clean and well kept, and the carts were always waiting near the elevator to assist with heavy items. I have been a tenant at the sterns location for many years now and the staff has not always been perfect but the team has truly been a great team. Nice place, very clean. Dan is always on point and professional, always willing to help out. Got a drive up 5x15 unit. They do month to month plans and had the lowest cost of anyone around, although they charge mandatory insurance that starts at $15/month for basic coverage. He showed me a couple different units prior and was happy to show me around so I could see the inside of the units before I made a decision. Talk to Dan if you have any issues and he will get you all taken care of. Very secure property. Wish it was open 24 hours but you cant have everything 👍 **I had to edit this post, giving 4 stars instead of previous 5. The gate pinpad is not possible to access while in the car...so you have to get out of the car every time to get past the gate. Im not usually picky about something this small, but for a storage unit I feel it was just poor design and its obnoxious.

Which Ive had to think about a few times.Update. Its been several months now. I paid for a year. Moving out of state. Gabriel was very good at refunding me. Used Extra Space storage off Stearns to store my 4 bedroom home furniture while our new house was being built. They accommodated me quickly at time of reservation with a very large 10x30 that was just the right size (they helped me determine just the right space).The unit was so easy to get things in and out of by being on ground level.Online tools for easy account management made things nice to remember how to access unit and setup simple payment options.At time of checking out, they came and greeted me, thanked me for the business (I think her name was Gabrielle). The space I rented (10 x 20) is fireproof (corrugated metal walls and fire sprinklers) and had a nice high ceiling. The property is gated with access 6am-8pm daily and there are security cameras around the property that are constantly monitored. The asphalt around the buildings is in good shape and kept clean.UPDATE: Ive been here 3 months and all of a sudden I get a notice that my rent is going up by $100 per month. I was shocked at the increase and talked to the renter in the neighboring unit and he said that he started out at $150 and now pays $850 per month (almost as much as a cheap apartment) and the rent has been steadily going up. They seem to take advantage of people who are already settled in at what they think is a reasonable rate and then boost up the price until theyve had enough and decide to move. I warn anyone looking for storage to find someplace else other than renting from these crooks.

I needed to rent a space quickly to move thinks out of my house during construction. Of course I was stressed out about it and was a bit manic. I walked into the office and was immediately greeted by Dan, the store manager, and Dan was able to calm me down and assured me that everything would work out. Turns out it did! The facility was super clean, security is on point, customer service is top notch, and I was able to move my things the same day. So I’ve never done storage before and really didn’t know what to expect. I walked into at extra space storage on Stearns in Simi Valley. Dan greeted me right away answered all my questions and gave me exactly what I needed. It was extremely painless and I highly recommend Extra space storage. My space is perfect they didn’t try to sell me but I didn’t need. And the place is very clean with elevators and carts to assist.

I wanted to be a return customer, but they lied to me.The second star is for my previous, positive experience when I first moved to Simi Valley. The staff was professional, the unit was clean and secure. Accessing my unit was a breeze (except one day when the power was out).I was happy enough to want to return and rent a 10x10 again, but then the company lied to me in an effort to squeeze in a higher rent. I originally reserved a unit with a three day hold, intending to continue reserving, three days at a time until the reservation was no longer allowed (last unit available). On the third day, Dan called me and we agreed on another three day hold. Three days later I hadnt received a call, so I called them directly and spoke with Rachel (I think that was her name) who told me that the reservation had expired and that the new price was over $100 more per month! There was no negotiation or even a genuine apology. I decided to take my business elsewhere. I was very surprised, frustrated and disappointed considering my prior experience with Extra Space Storage.

Hi everyone! My family and I are transitioning from our home and needed a facility that was in town. Like you all, I am always looking for the best deal when I use my hard earned money. At the end of the day I chose Extra Storage because of “first month free” promotion. I ended up only paying $38 to receive services. Mind you, it may have come out to a little bit more but I have a lock that I bought from Extra Storage when I used them last. Went with a 10*10 unit and took my time to fill it up over the span of a week. Easy to use access code, clean facilities, and speedy check out. If you are interested I’d call right away and take advantage of the promotion. If you are in Simi Valley ask for Dan. He is a straight up guy and will get you in and out. This was an incredibly simple and fast process. The office was even closed when I processed the lease. All info comes to you via email and txt.I didnt really like that I was forced to by insurance but I would have had to do so in the office too. There is also a $25 admin fee and a lock fee of which you may return unopened for credit.Nonetheless I still give 5 stars because it really was easy and efficient.

We were looking for a storage to hold some new appliances we were purchasing for our move in a few weeks. We would be removing our items on Jan 2. It was 12/11/21 and most places wanted to charge us for December and for the full month of January even though we would be out on the 2nd. Extra Space Storage does not do that. Because the first month was free we only paid for the lock and other start up fees, we may have also paid for insurance. They charge you for the 30/month to month, so we have until Jan 10 just in case we have any issues. The process was so easy. They gave us the gate code, and our unit and we were able to go to the unit where they placed the lock inside and we never even had to go to the front desk to check in. BEST storage experience ever. Weve used multiple storages in the past and we will definitely stick with this one.

He kept a tidy office and as we walked to the unit to examine it, he picked up a couple pieces of small debris from the ground and tidied as he went. He was cheerful and informative. The storage spaces are clean and the hallways and elevators are well lit and wide enough to maneuver.There are flatbed dollies available and you can drive right up to the unit building entrances. While I am still enduring a hardship, and I recently required an immediate need for a larger unit. This is when I met Dan Daniels, who is the store manager. His professionalism is beyond approach! Met with Dan, was very nice and helpful.Storage unit was in good condition, facility was clean and well kept.Price was good for a 10’x15’ unit was 250$ plus they have their own insurance for fire, water damage, and theft with 0 deductible for an addition 26$ a month. ( price varies with price of storage goods)

Dan was amazing help. Very kind and friendly. He helped me out and gave me very helpful information on how to properly store my bed so it will last longer. Very cheap prices for the units as well. Im very glad I went here.

Well maintained, excellent service. I went in today to check out a unit with a few friends. This place is very clean, has cameras and you can only get in with your personal gate code. The employees are friendly and super helpful, closing process was quick and simple. All in all I would definitely recommend extra space storage if you’re looking for a unit in simi.

We have been using ExtraSpace Storage for two years and when Dan Daniels took over it was much easier to do business with them. The first person did not explain things well, nor was he helpful. Completely the opposite with Dan Daniels! He has been extremely helpful with situations that came up and explained any options available. We are very happy with this new management!

Easy set up. Was unable to complete the application online so I had to pay $25.00 for the application to be completed for me. Unfortunately, the owners of these places increase the price based on a market rate. I feel like the introductory low price is nothing more than a bait-and-switch tactic used to get people in and then, they increrase the monthly price by $20.00 every month because they know that once you move your things into storage. you are basically stuck, and have no other choice but to pay their exorbitant rates.

I just got back from getting a storage unit at Extra Space Storage in Simi Valley. The second I walked in the front door, I was greeted with a smile by Diana Lopez. The whole process took about 15 minutes. Diana was amazing to deal with, super friendly, and went out of her way to find discounts and applied them to my bill.
