We love this place! My son has had both Dr. Candy and Dr. Jeff, and each made him feel comfortable and valued. The staff there are so encouraging as they talk you through the process, which makes for a comforting visit. Did I mention the TV in the ceiling the kids can watch while getting their teeth worked on? Ahhhmazing! I drive 45 mins here because my son is never scared to go to the dentist, thanks to the exceptional team at Explorer Kids Dental! 🦷

10/10 experience! We had recently switched dentists as my daughter used to get pretty nervous at her old dental appointments so we thought to seek out a new dentist that might help her feel more comfortable and teach her that there is nothing to be afraid of. Well we definitely found the perfect fit here at Explorer Kids Dental! The way Miss Gabby was so gentle and talked my daughter through each step really helped her to understand what was happening and helped her feel at ease (she even got to watch Bluey which she loved 😆). Dr. Jeff was super friendly which also made my daughter feel calm and comfortable. After the appointment my daughter proclaimed “I did it! I’m not afraid of the dentist anymore! I LOVE the dentist now!” 😅 So thank you Explorer Kids Dental, I will definitely be recommending you!!

We had a very traumatic experience at another location about 3 years ago, and hadn’t gone back to the dentist since. After explaining that to Explorer kids dental, they were so kind and gentle with her and took the time to explain every single tool and what they do, and we started on a dental plan to catch her up and ease her back into it. I was holding back tears after our first visit, because they made us feel so comfortable and that we picked the right place. I recommend this dentist for all children. I can’t say enough about this place. They have young children as well and they are very sensitive to their little patience. Love this place! 💕

I have to say that my grandchildren have had an easy time at the dentist. They speak about visiting the turtle, Loofy, and the lizard Darty in the friendly office. They like the smiles that Miss Alyssa greets them when they come in for their appointments. They are happy with the wonderful ladies that do their dental care. There is MissSarah, Miss Natalie, and Miss Itzel and Miss Jessica. All the dental assistants talks to them, explaining what is happening, and educating them on the care of their teeth. They make them very comfortable. Thank you! That makes me happy. Dr. Candy and Dr. McComb, I thank you for the wonderful, and friendly staff, who provide care to the children. I definitely would recommend them.

My son had his first dental visit here today. He is 2. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we felt so special and taken care of! The front desk gal was so sweet and friendly. The assistant, Ms. Pam was so kind and gentle with my son. She explained everything to him and took the time to make sure he understood what was happening at all times. She showed him how the instruments worked and allowed him to touch, see and feel everything before starting any dental work. I was extremely impressed by how great she is with kids! My son is a hands on learner and loves to see how things function. She truly made this visit so special and he was so happy the whole time. Dr. Jeff McComb was so great! He always had a smile on his face and you could really tell that he loves his work. Everyone at the office made my son so comfortable and eased his apprehension. At the end, we got awesome goody bag with a new toothbrush and my son got a special toy unlocked with a gold coin. I cannot recommend this office enough! Thank you so much for taking care of my son today. You have earned our trust and we are happy to have found such a great dental home. Thank you!!!

First time with our 3 year old! The staff is welcoming and the place is very kid friendly! Ms. Jessica assisted us and was so kind to our son, showing him all the dentist tools and walking him through the process a 3yr old would understand! He loved the stickers and toys as well! Such a great office. My children love it here! Pammy the assistant is so kind and takes the most care with my children. Really ALL the assistants are brilliant. They all bring something special to each and every patient and parents. Dr. McComb is very purposeful with his explanations of treatment and his kindness really pours out. Dr. Candy is so thrilling and very loving and caring with every exam and treatment. I would say 10 out 10 would recommend!

Extremely surprised by the office staff and their amazing office! The waiting area is toddler/kid friendly with plenty of fun things for them to explore. The entire office staff was very sweet and great with my daughter. She felt safe and enjoyed the entire experience. Dr. Candy was extra special! She answered all my questions and really showed that she cared about my daughter and my questions. We felt safe and cared for in this office and highly recommend!

We have been taking my daughter here for almost 4 years now. The entire staff is amazing. My daughter is actually excited to go to the dentist. First off, she loves that her dentist’s name is Candy and loves they give gold coins for the “prize machine.” We are very happy with the service we receive here!

My daughter just had her first visit her and this is exactly what I have been looking for in a kids dentist. Upon entering the staff greets you with warm welcomes. The hygienist called my childs name and welcome me back with her. The woman who cleaned my daughters teeth had her laughing and smiling the whole time. Dr. Macomb came out and introduced himself to me and my daughter and started inspecting her teeth. He keep me informed and showed me what he was seeing and any concerns and why. Never felt like I was being sold. Shanna is always extremely friendly and welcoming and you can tell everyone here really loves what they do and enjoys working with kids. The wait list can be long for new patients but it is worth it. Highly recommend Explorer Kids Dental

Explorer kids Dental office was able to squeeze my daughter in for an emergency appointment as she had some pain. A treatment plan was developed, the staff was so kind and hospitable. It was a very calm environment, but still offered a lot for my 8 year old to take interest and keep busy/distracted enough as she has anxiety. Typically our family dental team had trouble even getting X-rays done with my daughter, but this team specializes in pediatric dentistry so totally got it done. When it was time to explain anything or ask my daughter questions it was in a gentle way. If she got scared they gave her a moment. So far we are very happy & my daughter is asking to go back to earn her prize and visit the little turtle and lizard I think. Ill have to get their names lol. Next appointment is to start treatment and tooth extraction. Will update! 😊

Love going to this kids Dental they’re very welcoming, caring and answer all my questions. The dental hygienist always make the kids comfortable and super sweet with them. Overall done environment is very positive and warm. The doctors here are amazing. Also very sweet explain everything in detail answer all my questions. The kids feel very comfortable and look forward to going to the dentist. i’ve been to three different dental offices due to insurance changes and this place is hands-down my favorite one out of the three! The staff in the office are very flexible and work with you to schedule you in at the most convenient and quickest time. Definitely recommend this place!

We have been patients at Explorer Kids Dental for 3 years and have benefited tremendously. I have worked in the dental field before I had children and can sincerely say that this dental office is by far the best I have ever been to. Dentist assistant today was amazing and my favorite experience for a toddler here. our older child had a last visit the week before and had a great time with her assistant too. For our toddler today, the wait before seeing the dentist was short but our toddler was not excited to be there anymore since looking her mouth is her least favorite thing to have people do. Given she was crying hard a shorter view may have been better for her to help with her crying. Hopefully with us pretend playing dentist with flashlights she will be a little more willing to have her mouth open longer. I was very pleased she did not gag as she has the most sensitive gag reflex of our family. Overall we love this dentistry team 💕

I’m so thankful we took the leap and switched dentists. The staff is so amazing and kind! Jessica took amazing care of my daughter (who had a million questions). They were able to see my daughter the same day I called about a pretty bad toothache she was having, even though we had not been to see them before. The entire office staff was very friendly and helpful. I especially appreciated that Dr. McComb sat down and took plenty of time with me to talk about what was going on with my daughter’s dental work. I felt like he was very thorough and will now be going there for all of my kids’ dental needs.

The staff and Dr. McComb had so much patience, kindness, and were efficient. The waiting room was clean the wait time was minimal. In the past, going to the dentist was a dreadful experience for my son and sometimes we would leave without any treatment being completed. This time around, I felt heard when it came to my concerns but most importantly they were able to do a full set of x rays, exam and a cleaning which is VERY challenging with my son. I am so happy we found this office!

Dr. Candy is so sweet and gentle with the kids. The office is very welcoming to kids. They have animals in the lobby area. The kids get stickers and gold coins to get prizes after their teeth are done. The kids are able to watch movies while being seen. Everyone is very friendly and takes a personal interest in the kids. Not sure why Ive never written a review before. My kids saw Dr Candy and Dr Jeff McComb prior to them opening up their own place, and we had to follow them, even though it meant driving an hour to go to the dentist. It was worth it! My kids couldnt sit through a whole cleaning due to their autism. They were so patient with my kids, AND I got to see my kids ability to handle going to the dentist grow. About two years ago we moved completely out of the area and had to find a new dentist. I am writing this today because my kids both needed to have a filling 6 months ago, and they both handled it! The silver painted on my sons molar 2 years ago stopped a cavity from growing and its still good. Not only that, but I learned that the McCombs saved me a ton of money. When my son was 7, I was told he needed braces ASAP(and would need 2-3 phases!). He couldnt sit through a cleaning or handle x-rays! How was he going to handle braces? Dr McComb provided a second opinion, and said to wait. Lets work on getting him more comfortable with dental work and reassess. This wont be everyones story, I know that. Fast forward 8 years, his wisdom teeth are growing in, and not only is there room for them, but he doesnt need braces. His teeth moved enough over time, his bite is functional. He still has a slight overbite, but the dentist said it would be cosmetic IF we wanted to do braces, and it would be the same to do it now or wait until hes an adult. Dr Candy and Dr Jeff McComb were such a blessing to my family, and I am continually thankful for them (every 6 months of course).

5 stars doesnt seem like enough!! We have been coming to Explorer Kids Dental for over a year now. My now 4 year old son needed a handful of appointments to fill some cavities and have a tooth pulled. Everyone in this office is so kind and patient and so wonderful with children. You can imagine that pulling a tooth on a toddler can be challenging to say the least but they explained to him every step they were doing. Now that our teeth are fixed and up to par, our cleanings are also so wonderful. They explain and show the kids their tools and let them know what they are doing before they do it. They are incredible! I wish they saw adults so I could go there for me. Who knew I could look forward to taking the kids to the dentist so much! Thank you Dr. Candy & Dr. Jeff and all your incredible staff!

We’ve taken our son to several dentists and it’s been a terrifying experience. We found Explorer Kids Dental earlier this year and they’ve been very sensitive to his fears, explain everything they’re doing, and reward him after the treatment is over. Just to let you know how great this dental office is, I drive all the way from Woodland to Roseville because of the amazing staff. Gabby is a gem and has made us feel so comfortable and like family from our very first visit. Gabby is gentle, patient, explains things thoroughly and has a way about her that puts not only us parents at ease, but also her little patients. Dr. McComb too made us all feel comfortable and answered all of our questions thoroughly. When we were getting ready to leave for my girl’s (10&12) dentist appointments, I couldn’t help but notice how happy and excited they were. They were chatting about Dr. Candy and the staff, the tortoise and gecko, and about the new stories they would share since last visit (artwork, school, Christmas, etc) and most importantly they were boasting about their brushing and flossing and who would have the better exam results. I highly recommended Explorer kids dental! My kids love going to the dentist! The doctors are amazing and all the staff is sweet and gentle. The office is so beautiful and set up with kids in mind. There are so many fun things for them. There’s a tortoise and a salamander in the waiting room! There’s games and iPads and huge tvs on the ceiling and wall. At the end they get tokens and get to ‘buy’ a toy. It is such a fun experience all around.

They use a variety of rewards to encourage kids to participate in their dental care. I can’t thank this place enough. I am a new mommy and my son was badly teething and I wanted to make sure he was okay. These ladies took great care of him and made me and my son feel at ease. I am so grateful for them. Thank you so much for taking the time to see me on such short notice too! Now thanks to them my son has a membership and his teeth will always be squeaky clean! Doctor and staff are absolutely amazing!!! Was our first time there for my family. The office is very inviting and has playful atmosphere with a tortoise and gecko terrarium to keep kids entertained. The hygienist was very attentive and letting me know what we can do better. Doctor answered all my concerns and was very informative. I loved that unnecessary services werent pushed on me like I know other offices do. Cant wait to continue to take my kids here and tell all my friends about them. 5 stars is not enough to rate them!

We LOVE LOVE LOVE this office. My daughter had a couple of traumatic experiences when she was 4-5 years old at a prior kids dentist office, and we needed a change. We were recommended to this office by my own dental hygenist. The first visit, my daughter (age 6 at the time) was apprehensive and still too scared, to the point that she couldn’t even sit through a cleaning. She had a huge fear of dentists. It was super stressful as a parent to have a kid with that much dental anxiety. We stopped and came back another day, and it went smoothly! Fast forward to today’s visit, which is her second visit, and she went in by herself and was all smiles. They are so so good with kids and really do such special things for the kids. My daughter loved the animals and getting a token for a prize machine. I can’t say enough good things.

Amazing experience at this office! I was super impressed and never had such a great experience at a dental office. The staff were all very friendly and inviting the minute we walked in. They gave a little tour to me and my son to get him more comfortable. My 2 year old son slowly warmed up as usually he cries when at the dentist. The dentist was very friendly attentive and answered all my questions. I didn’t feel rushed and he made my son feel very comfortable during his visit. He got a couple toys to go home with afterwards and he was a happy boy :) I can’t say enough great things about this place! What a wonderful office and staff. I am so happy we found this place.

Every single person in this office is wonderful. Every single person is friendly and warm toward me AND my not so willing seven year old. This is the ONLY dentist and hygienist that she will let look in her mouth. They have taken the only successful X-Rays of her life and there is just so much love and patience. Both dentists, and all the staff take time and care to make sure it is a pleasant experience for my daughter, and me! Also, Loofa the turtle, is a big hit with my daughter. I just cant praise this office enough. It felt like everyone was rooting for us.

We had such a great experience at Adventure Kids Dental. The staff welcomed us as soon as we walked in. Kids were very entertained by the toys and live reptiles! The staff was very nice and they took their time with my 3 boys making sure everything was done correctly. Plus, having a movie for them to watch while getting worked on definitely helped! We are so happy to find them, we will be definitely going back. My boys also let me know after we had gone home that they loved it there and asked if we would go back again.

I’m super thankful we found this office! They’re incredibly kind and offered fantastic treatment options for my youngest son’s mouth. We have known he was full of cavities for a year, but he was traumatized and we finally found this office and I can just sing the praises of gratefulness and relief. We laid out a plan, but Dad didn’t agree and we found a new and better plan. I feel so much relief and appreciate their flexibility and offered options. My son fell and hit his chin and mouth. Visit to the emergency room - doctor said we needed to see a dentist right away. At 7 on a Friday night. Got ahold of Explorer Kids dentist - they came in after hours to help my son. They were so gentle, caring, and supportive. The hygienist Sharneese I believe her name was so funny and helpful also. This was my daughter’s first visit to a dentist. She’s 2. Our experience was absolutely amazing. Warm and welcoming atmosphere with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The staff was fantastic with my daughter, used kid friendly language and made it an exciting experience for her. After we left the office my daughter kept saying “more, more”. My children are 8 and 11 and have been seeing different dentists since they were 2. This was due to insurance changes and bad experiences with impatient and insensitive assistants including front desk personnel and a few of the dentists.the are all supposed to be children’s dental firms and you wouldn’t know it. It takes special people to work with all types of personalities, needs and ages of children. My son has been traumatized by dentists visits as he is the one with necessary dental work every time we go in for cleanings. Kristina was the first face we saw at Adventure walking in the door. She was so friendly and she immediately came out to introduce their turtle and lizard to my kids. She was so comforting when she saw my son sitting in the lobby nervous about his cleaning. He was immediately at ease. The Hygienist treated him like he was her child. She let him choose a movie to watch on the wall and took the time to explain everything she was doing and made sure he was comfortable. She was able to clean his teeth with no Problems. Dr. Jeff came out to review the cleaning and his X-rays and was extremely patient and very pleasant. He went over his X-rays and all of our options when it came to having work done. He was so great with my son. It was probably the most fun dental visit my son has had and I never felt that possible. We are definitely here to stay. This was a 40 minute drive for us but I would drive an hour for dental visits if it meant my kids were happy. I can’t express how happy it makes me to know my kids are finally in great hands! I always do a lot of review research before choosing places. Sometimes places don’t always live up to their hype, but let me tell you.. Adventure Kids Dental is absolutely INCREDIBLE! I have 2 children, and they both always get so excited to come for their appointments ( i never remember being excited for the dentist as a kid). First of all, EVERYONE is SO freaking nice. Wether you are speaking to someone on the phone, checking in/out, the dental assistants, drs.. I mean I literally couldn’t imagine a better crew. My son has never had X-rays. He’s severely autistic. I took him and they knew beforehand what my goal was and how hard it would be.They didn’t sweat it at all. The dentist and his assistant Emily were awesome. I couldn’t believe that we actually got the X-rays. They have this wireless unit that makes taking an X-ray so easy. No setting it, leaving the room, hitting a button and coming back in. It was as easy as taking a picture with your phone.They also gave us a private room. It’s decorated so cute. It was my sons very first dental appointment and I was very impressed with the receptionist, dental assistant, and the Dr. Jeff McComb. They showed us around the whole office, which has some amazing features including TV screens on the ceiling for kids to watch during the appointment. We just moved from SoCAL & found Explorer Kids Dental from Yelp & Google reviews. I was glad when my daughter’s Orthodontist also recommended them. We were blown away on how kid friendly the dental office is from the waiting area having live pets in the coffee table & vide game tables/monitors, the dental work area having plenty of screens (even a massive wall tv) for patient’s/parent’s to watch while (kids) getting teeth cleaned/examined, their after service treat rewards (token to choose from large selection of toy machine and sugar free candy), to their next appointment reminder photo magnet. That’s just the physical aspect of it. The staff are super great from the receptionist/Office Lead, dental technicians and the Dentist himself, Dr. Mccomb. All the staff were so genuinely nice, friendly, attentive, caring. It wasn’t just them being nice to us as new patients, but I saw that’s how they were to return customers as well. It clearly shows the Dentists/owners have built a solid dental office & superb team!!! I can see why Explorer Kids Dental are raved about. Dr. McComb and staff were all extremely warm, caring and patient with my girls. They welcome parents to sit with their children during the exams/procedures. They also took the time to explain to me in great detail the sealant procedure and to answer my questions. Dr. McComb explained his observations at the end of their exams. My daughter had cavities in her baby teeth, but he advised against filling the cavities because he could see that her adult teeth were coming in three or four months. I wonder how many dentists would be so honest.Also, the office is very clean and has plenty of entertainment for the kiddos.

The place itself was clean and tidy. The front office area was small but had enough to keep my 2 kids entertained before their appointment. Our dental assistant, Shareese ws amazing. She took us in to each room and explained what happens there. It was my daughters first time getting x-rays and she was a bit nervous. Shareese made her first experience fun and exciting. I went to get my teeth cleaned (im a teenager, and do technically have to get pediatric dental) with my family after a long period of not having dental access.The staff were great, but the owner of the local place was rude to staff and people alike, when she was going over my charts, she made a mistake and refused to let a staff correct her. She then said, out loud, I could do this, but give it to General (referring to a close by adult dentistry office) Then she laughed. When doing my brother she refused to clean his teeth because they were adult teeth, then proceeded to clean my (also adult) teeth cleaned. She was unproffessional as all hell, and when I corrected her on a matter that I knew better than her (One of my baby teeth had refused to fall out and displaced the tooth that was growing in, she said the baby tooth was an adult tooth and the misplaced tooth was an extra tooth, I corrected her that the baby tooth was a baby tooth and it was what I want removed, she said no and that they were going to order the extra to be removed. Safe to say we are never going back there, and are finding ourselves a new dentist.

My daughter is very fearful of the dentist and I have to say, this office is AMAZING!!! They painted 2 teeth and wiggled 1 today and Dr.Candy and Dana explained everything to my daughter along the way. They answered every question she had. Elaina and the ENTIRE staff their are so amazing and have such patience. We are lucky to be with their office.

By far the best kids Dental office one could hope for. EVERYONE here is amazing and you can tell they love what they do. My son hasn’t stopped talking about how he “got to go to the dentist”, like it was a trip to the park❤️ The office is BEAUTIFUL with lots of entertainment to keep the littles preoccupied, and a nice coffee station for parents too.Had my dentist been this neat growing up I’d probably enjoying going to the dentist too. Thank you Dr. McComb, Cherisse(totally butchering the spelling I’m sure), and Kristina. We look forward to our next visit.

I could go on and on about how great this place is from the very first phone call to end of the visit. They made this process, as a first time mom, so comfortable and easy. My one year old loved the entire staff. I am looking forward to his dental journey here.

We’ve got 5 kids ages 5 to 15. All of them had a fantastic time at Adventure Kids today. The staff are seriously so much fun. The topic around the dinner table tonight was telling funny stories about their interactions at the dentists office. Uh, what happened to the dentist being the worst place in the world? Apparently not at Adventure Kids!

Awesome dentist for kids!! My kids are excited to go to the dentist! They have TVs on the ceiling so the kids can watch while they work. They have a free toy for each kid at the end of the visit. Great dentist that understands what your kids want! Do your kids a favor, check this dentist out!

Dr. Jeff (Dr. McComb) is the best so we had to follow him to his new business of course! And we were soooooo happy when we saw our FAVORITE assistant there too- Sharesse!!! My kids have terrible anxiety, but Sharesse always works her magic to distract and calm them. She is so good with kids that coming to the dentist is literally FUN!

Took our 3yr old for his first small sugar bug we had to take care of and the whole staff/Dr was incredible. We were planning and preparing him as much as we can ... but half way through it’s just got a bit crazy. Great office, from front desk to the dentists.... it is run by a husband and wife duo. Our son is 1.5 and hates anything to do with the dentist, but he did great. The dentist was patient and listened to our concerns . Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quality, honest pediatric dentist.

From the moment I walked in I felt at home! I have a 6 year old and a 16 year old.. and both boys went from hating going to looking forward to going!! I didn’t wanna leave lol! My little brother went there to get one of infected and very painful teeth removed, Dr Jeff made it quick and painless, he also got to enjoy holding the leopard gecko dart and looking at the tortoise, he really enjoyed his time and is recovering very fast.
