Nicholas the owner is fantastic. He has an incredible knowledge of so many kinds of books and media in multiple languages. He’s very professional while also being very warm and friendly. So he’s definitely a great person to consult if you need recommendations. He does a lot of online business as well, but why not stop in, as he has a brick-and-mortar location? Support small and local businesses. This shop has been here for several years now and aspires to stay open in spite of the pandemic. And, it’s so close to BART and there is street parking nearby.

Such a lovely little shop. I’ve come in a couple of times now to pick up French books for my sister’s new baby and they have a large selection to choose from! Saves her the import fees and gives me a chance to shop locally. They are always so helpful to find the perfect book for your needs, too!

If you like French books, which I do, this place is for you. However, if youre looking for Portuguese books this is not the place. Overall, theyre very nice and having the cafe right next door is excellent for grabbing a book and sipping a juicy latte.

Incredible bookstore; I feel lucky to live close by. They have sort of haphazard selection of titles, mostly literary fiction (19th and 20th century french classics) as well as a good selection of crime/mystery novels. Prices unbeatable (better than amazon/abe books) and the guy who runs the place is very helpful.
