Not sure what these other people leaving on star reviews are talking about Jesse the manager and his assistant manager both go above and beyond every single time I rent with them. I am a frequent renter, so I see them regularly, and they always go out of their way to do whatever they can to make my visits easy and then give me whatever benefits they are able to.. they are extremely accommodating with my situation ..it’s always a pleasure to deal with them. If there’s ever an issue, they take care of it and then some. This is the type of customer service that more businesses should aspire to. These are the type of employees as a business owner myself come around once in a while, and you do your best to hold onto them, and keep them happy because they ultimately keep the customers happy… I don’t work for some third-party company that gets paid to leave good reviews I’m just a regular customer that uses their service a lot and this is my experience.

Terrible customer service! I called to confirm my Enterprise reservation the day before, and that it would be delivered to a repair shop at 10 am. At 11 am, they said they lost (then found?) my reservation. And that I would need to go the store pick it up. And when we complained to the manager, he refused to rent to us. Seriously? Poor communication and poor customer service! We went with Hertz who really know how to treat their customers properly.

Don’t go here. They’re jerks. I tried to rent with my debit card and told the clerk the address and he kept trying to tell me it wasn’t working, so I couldn’t rent. Turns out he just spelled my address wrong and didn’t catch it. I had just moved and did a change of address with my bank account, so it was up to date, and was trying to tell him that and he didn’t want to hear it. In the end, he didn’t rent to me because he couldnt spell a word I spelled out loud to him, and refused to help. They just lost a gold member client because some 20 year old agent didn’t have any empathy to help figure out the issue, and it was on him

If you can, choose another location or different company. Our experience was atrocious: on the second day of driving our upgraded insurance replacement vehicle, the vehicle broke down without warning on the side of the road 2.7 miles away from the branch. From my work I called the branch for help, told them the situation, then was put on hold for 15 minutes and then they said there was nothing they could do and we had to call roadside assistance and then once the vehicle is towed my pregnant wife and two young children could leave the side of the road and Uber to the branch to go through the process of getting a replacement vehicle. After a full hour on the phone trying to get help, I finally got a tow scheduled for the vehicle, where my wife was dressing an eight year old for a soccer game on the side of the road. Again, 60 minutes getting it scheduled, not actually out to the vehicle. Now today trying to get a replacement vehicle scheduled I’ve been on hold for 27 minutes and then got “your call cannot be transferred, goodbye.” I called back and have been on hold for another 20 minutes while writing this review and still no one. Giving up for the day. This is insane.UPDATE:It gets even weirder. We picked up our replacement vehicle just now and i kid you not, there was a condom (unused) tapped up in the trunk???!!! What is going on!!!???For the person responding to these reviews, you have the date, name and branch location. If you actually care to reach out, you have what you need.

Appreciate this branchs proactive communication and transparency. I believe the person helping was Mike - super helpful.Rented a car after the Southwest Air meltdown of 2022 and got a call from the branch a few minutes later advising there will be a wait. Understandable and appreciated the heads up. They were there next day early checking in customers and did everything they could to get people in a car.

My car is currently getting fixed so I needed a rental for the meanwhile .The Encinitas Enterprise is closest to the caliber collisions my car is currently at. I was originally put in a nissan rouge, since that’s all they had on the lot & that the insurance would pay for, which i wasn’t too happy about ( this would be my car for the next couple of weeks, so i wanted something very similar to my current car, and a car i was comfortable in and in great condition ) I explained the situation to the manager & they let me exchange the vehicle at the Escondido Enterprise . I was expecting to get a car around the same, but I got a very nice buick instead for the inconvenience . Needless to say i’m very happy ! Thank you so much for understanding, accommodating and making that work with the escondido location 🤍

The phone was answered quickly by a representative. She was helpful & efficient. I think she may pushed a button to send me to a survey to quickly and I did not receive a confirmation number. When I called the Encinitas location 20 minutes before my pick up time they stated they had none of the size of car I was supposed to be picking up. I can’t understand why a reservation would be made if they couldn’t accommodate it. The in-store representative was not very helpful and then asked if I would like to upgrade to a more expensive vehicle as that was all they had. We had to drive another 15-20 min the opposite direction to pick up a vehicle.Not happy with the customer service.

Terrible service. Called to ensure that I would be receiving the correct vehicle I made with my reservation. Person on the phone was so rude, said I was their 26th customer that day and they couldn’t help me. When I arrived a couple hours later as expected the correct vehicle was not waiting for me. When I said the vehicle was not right the employee got aggressive and rude with me and said I was inflexible. Finally offered another car that was the correct vehicle, except it wasn’t clean. Said it would take 20 minutes to clean…One and a half hours later it was ready. They never apologized. Go to Carlsbad location!UPDATE: Got this Enterprise corporate reply. Must be automatically generated. I had already sent my complaint and rental contract number to the email in this automated response. Clearly, nothing will change. Only thing to do is to avoid this location.

Be sure to update your arrival time on your reservation. They will give away your car if youre late without attempting to contact you.If they still have car in inventory you will have to pay the increased difference if its a nicer car.

Horrible service. Does not respond to emails, nor to phone calls, not even through their own call center. Booking via website is useless as the guy is clueless about elementary professional conduit and will have you wait even if you have an appointment at a specific time and he serve other customers who did not bother to book via website (“he came first!”). What is the point of getting an appointment for a car at a specific time if you have to wait for everyone who got there first without an appointment?

I have rented with this Enterprise location several times in the past with no problem. However, this time was so bad that I am considering never renting with them again (and I am a frequent renter/corporate client).I reserved a car the night of 12/27 to be ready for a 7:30 a.m. pickup on 12/28. When I got there at 9:45 a.m., I was told that all the cars were gone; that it was a first-come, first-served, regardless of reservation (or not). I was told that cars were coming from the wash and would be there in 15, maybe 20 minutes.I asked if there would be time to get a drink from the taco shop around the corner, was told yes, and left for about 10 minutes. When I got back, there was another woman waiting for a car in the lobby. When a car came in, she was given that car, even though she had not been there when I left. It was 10:30 by this time, and no car.I waited until 11:05 a.m. for a car that I had reserved at 7:30 a.m. Two things really stood out to me:1. Multiple calls came in where renters asked to keep cars additional days. One of the male workers commented to the woman waiting in the lobby (and by default, me) that that had been happening all week. Everyone wanted to keep their cars - and he kept saying yes. This didnt make sense to me...if there are renters who are making reservations for cars, then no, you cant keep your car. We need that inventory for others. Not that that would have made a difference with me, or the other woman, or the family that came in and asked that her 17 yo be allowed to drive the rental car. When a company accepts your reservation, it should deliver.2. I had to decline the rental coverage THREE TIMES, twice with the same guy. He kept going on and on about how my insurance would be charged the daily rental rate for every day it was out of service, as if to scare me into paying $10/day. Again, I have rented with Enterprise multiple times, and have only had to decline once.I did end up getting a car, but 1.5 hours later than I was told, and almost 4 hours later than my reservation. Im not sure what is going on with this location, but it was not a good experience this time. I will most likely rent from the airport or the Carlsbad location when returning to North County.

Was happy with car experience except that the car was 1/2 full of gas when we picked it up. Ended up putting more than 1/2 tank in before we returned it. Hard to gage how much to put in. Feels like a bit of a scam getting the gas tank not full at beginning.

I have been coming to this location once a week for months. I use their rental cars to drive business clients around San Diego. The cars are always clean and well taken care of. The customer service is even better. Im greeted by my name, they ask about my week. Chase has made sure everything goes smoothly and quickly no matter who is handling my transaction that week. Even on their busiest mornings, I dont wait long. Every single member of their team is professional, patient, and kind. I live in Oceanside. There are plenty of rental choices between here and home, I choose this location because of the above and beyond customer service. I recommend this Enterprise to friends, family, and coworkers without blinking an eye.

Although I made the reservation months in advance, they didnt have the make / model sedan available when I arrived. They offered me a choice between a similar vehicle, and something somewhat ridiculous. The similar vehicle wasnt clean, and the check engine light was on. After I refused the other vehicle, they upgraded me to a very nice SUV. The office staff was very polite and professional. Overall, a good experience.

I am very pleased with my experience at Enterprise Rent a Car in Encinitas. I had a fender bender accident which left me stranded at work. It was late in the day and my car was going to require a lengthy repair. I needed a good deal on a longer term rental and I needed it NOW. The person I spoke with gave me a great deal on a midsize Ford Taurus. The car was perfectly clean and practically brand new. They sent someone over to pick me up and had me set up within an hour of my phone call. I kept the car for 30 days & when I dropped it off the staff had me out of there in minutes. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I couldnt ask for more!

I have booked with enterprise many times before, however this time was very telling of their company policies and I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. I booked 2 passenger vans 6 months in advance knowing that they are difficult vehicles to reserve. At the time of booking I spoke with 2 different employees who guaranteed my reservation. I called again a month prior and then a week prior to my reservation and was again reassured that they would be able to provide the vehicles. 2 days before the reservation I was contacted by the manager and told they may no longer be able to provide them. Even though I booked 6 months in advance, apparently if anyone with a higher status (i.e. corporate contract) books the vehicles after I did they reserve the right to cancel my reservation even up to days before I need it and give it to their ‘preferred customers.’ The manager was apologetic but provided false reassurances that they were trying to ‘get more vehicles’ and that he would ‘call back with updates’ but he never called back. I would have preferred upfront honesty that I had been screwed over rather than dragging me along for the next 3 days up until the day of the reservation when I called and was told ‘there’s nothing we can do.’ I just want to spread the word that if you dont have a corporate or government account do not reserve a vehicle without any sort of backup option as there is a possibility of them cancelling it even up to the day. I guess ‘reservation’ is a loose term in their company policy.

Horrible experience. Actually can’t believe. My 75 year old father was at Scott’s automotive in Leucadia waiting for pick up. Guy on the phone at the Encinitas location said they couldn’t help to have a car brought to him today. Mind you, we called at 12:30 pm. I understand that is possible but, he was so rude and not helpful when I asked if other help my dad could have from another local rental place. He was totally unresponsive. Very rude man on the phone. I will never use this company again

I am really disappointed with the service I was provided by the manager, Jason, at the Encinitas Enterprise.I made a reservation to rent a car on Thursday. I dropped my car for repair and called Enterprise for pick up. Jason answered and I asked for pick-up. He said that he was under-staffed and there was no pick-up. He was unapologetic. I was disappointed as I had to then hire Lyft. When I arrived at Enterprise my car was not available. Again, Jason was unapologetic. He said the car was getting washed. I waited for 30 minutes to get my car. Again, Jason was unapologetic.On Saturday morning I was preparing to drop my car at Enterprise and in my rush to get it there before closing I accidentally locked my keys in the car. It was about 11 and Enterprise closed at 12 and they would be closed on Sunday. I called and spoke with Jason. He could clearly hear the distress in my voice and said I would have to call for roadside service. I told him I could do that but that I would not be able to meet the 12 deadline. He again was very unhelpful and unapologetic. A good manager would have said, Dont worry Britta, just have the car in by 10 a.m.on Monday morning and there will be no charge. But he did not. Long story short, I was not able to meet the deadline.This is all very disappointing to me as I have been renting cars from Enterprise for over 25 years. It saddens me that Enterprise hires cold-hearted, money grubbers who have no regard for the feelings of the customers.It is DEFINITELY not about customer service or satisfaction. It is like factory farming, rental car style. I was planning on looking into their used car buying program but now I am thinking I will not. I will also look elsewhere for a rental car in the future if this is not resolved to my satisfaction on Monday when I return my car.I was at Enterprise at 7:30 on Monday morning to return my car and was offered half the rate that they would have charged for the weekend. I was not happy with this but I accepted it. I was given a ride to my vehicle by a very nice employee named Karl. I had originally given a 1 star rating but changed it to 3 stars because of him.

I regularly rent from Encinitas Enterprise and have become quite a devoted customer. The authentic care and concern is apparent from all their employees. I especially appreciate the diversity in their ranks and the efficiency of the entire rental process. Although I have had excellent interactions with all employees my very favorite is Karl who sometimes is the one who picks up and drops you off (the original reason why I chose to rent with Enterprise is this service). Karl is the epitome of top notch customer service. He has the gift to share his light and appreciation for life with those around him and It is contagious. This Enterprise is managed well and I highly recommend it above the other rental companies I have tried in North County.

I received a Ford Hybrid. I had it over a week when on Friday night (3-22-19) at 5 pm in a public parking lot, I could not get it to start. Long story, couldnt get through to Enterprise office for about 30 min. and then was told that they had no cars available so I would have to go to the San Diego airport to go pick up one! In the end, Matt was sent from their office and he was great. The battery had recharged itself after the 1.3 hours and he got me going so I did not have to be without a car...or go to San Diego on a 2 hour drive Friday night!

1st time renter here. Travis and Taylor and Liz assist. Car in shop...what to do. Thought 1 maybe 2 weeks but longer o needed it. At the end of every week i would have to call and extend. I often needed to switch business cards to charge and they would always ask which card. Car was clean and well maintained. They checked mileage during rental time incase it was due for an oil change. They are pleasant to do business with. Cheaper than going to dealership and getting loaner by far! Thank you

Professional and friendly staff. Received appropriate car in the class ordered. Reason for the missing fifth star is that the staff promised to email the rental contract instead of printing; never did. It took me 30 minutes and several calls to the 800 number which were unable to provide me the rental contract; they said it should come from the rental place which was closed for the weekend. Drove the car without any rental contract or documentation regarding the car. Overall, I highly recommend this rental location in Encinitas California.

We rented with enterprise for months because of an accident we had. For years we are regular customers and loyal to the Enterprise in Encinitas. We have used Fender Mender for our car repairs for 40 years and they always send us to the Enterprise in Encinitas even tho we live in Del Mar. This time due to an accident that was not our fault it totaled our car. We had rented from enterprise longer than anticipated. This time it was for three months as we were in the process of still looking for a car. They know us very well in enterprise and know we are good for the money and for the rental of their cars.I did call to tell them I had to work and we needed a couple extra days to bring in the car. My husband was out of town but he kept calling in to extend the time. I called the night before and told them I had some trouble with my daughter and could not come in until the next morning. The manager called me a liar and said he had no record of that. My husband had already called and they did take payment over the phone. They only needed us in there to make out a new contract. When I arrived he wanted to take the car and leave me totally stranded without a car. I walked out not a happy camper I would not give him the car back and told him I would be back by the end of the day. He told me he needed the car right at that time. He was totally paid up for another week!!! It was only to renew the contract. I got back the car later that day. I would have been stranded if I gave him back the car instantly without a ride or anything. My kids were waiting for me to pick them up at school. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. However, my niece suggested to go to Budget. We rented a van from them. They treated us very nicely. It was only 5.00 a day more for a van vs. a small compact car. They were much cheaper and they treated us with respect. Now I will never return to Encinitas Enterprise after this horrible experience. I intend to go up to the top with this complaint as we have used Enterprise for 40 years recommended by Fender Mender. I will also let them know the treatment that we got from these people

I have rented from the Encinitas branch of Enterprise Rent-a-Car on numerous occasions. Staff and management are courteous and responsive. The price for a weekly rate is very competitive with other car rental agencies and the cars they offer are well-maintained and fun to drive. I don’t have to pay all the taxes and fees charged for renting at the airport and they will pick me up for a rental or drop me off after I turn my rental in as part of their service (as long as it’s within a few miles). What more could you want from a car rental agency?

So disappointed with this company. This is the 6th time I have rented a car here.I made a reservation the prior Saturday, Jan 30th, for Jan 2nd. I was told a car would be ready and that there would be plenty of cars. When I arrived at the shop, there were no, as in ZERO cars available or on the lot! Because this was after the New Years weekend there were no cars! The person who made the reservation and guaranteed me a car, should have known this!Its a thirty minute drive from where I live to their shop. I had to get a ride there twice! So not good!I was told to come back at 2:30 PM, wasting my whole day! Now because of the holiday weekend Ive been without a car for 4 days. I work and needed a vehicle. I finally got a car at 3:30 PM, having had to wait again for a car. The car had not been washed, and was dirty. It did have gas!If there was another rental car agency in the area, I would go there. I will not recommend them. Also, the time before when I rented a car from them, the agent did not know how to connect my phone to the blue tooth and was rude when he got frustrated and couldnt do it.

I have been using them for decades on the recommendation of my mechanic, Brad’s Automotive. I have NEVER had a problem with them that hasn’t been handled in a more than satisfactory manner. I always use Enterprise when possible because I find them professional and reliable. I think we had a first when I rented one-way mini-cargo van from Encinitas to the San Jose Airport. I enjoyed the airport agents surprised response when I returned my vehicle. He had not seen one of the mini-cargo vans yet and was very excited to receive it.

We had a reservation but upon arrival there were no cars.... Really no empathy from the employee and no plan on how they could remedy or help us get a car. ERAC used to be fully committed to customer service and customer experience and, unfortunately, I took that for granted. Maybe thats just the price of getting big.

Awful experience. Wedding day and needed a big SUV. Ideally it would be a clean normal car. I was given a dirty white Expedition when I had a Tahoe reserved and it had sand and baby shoes all over the back rows. I asked if they had a clean car and was told it would take 30 minutes and asked if i was goi g to bring it back clean. Then I was charged a drop fee because they closed at noon. Rent elsewhere.

Enterprise in Encinitas has ALWAYS taken really good care of me and my traveling excursions “Spot ON”! They always provide me with the best possible price and are efficient & friendy to All of their customers. Plus, they have always accommodated any of my requests for an “upgrade” at the last minute and always offer me the best price even when I didn’t originally “book” that particular upgrade. “Jason” and his staff are super friendly and helpful even when you can see that they are COMPLETELY OVERWHELMED with getting ppl checked In or Out. I returned my car to this location and left my golf clubs in the back of the vehicle. When I contacted them to inquire to come pick them up, they said they had not located the clubs and that they would contact the subsequent renter to inquire whether they had them. How is it possible that an item like this would go missing when they supposedly clean out the car prior to renting the vehicle? When I picked up the car the back was dirty, so perhaps they rented w/out cleaning it? Regardless, I wouldnt trust one person at this location as obviously dishonesty is rampant. O stars.

Enterprise, THE CAR RENTAL COMPANY THAT LEAVES YOU STRANDED! I requested a pickup when I made my reservation and they never showed up. When I called the Encinitas office, they said they don’t show a pick up in their system and that I’ll have to wait about an hour and that I should have called them 1.5 hour ahead of time. My reservation confirmation email clearly showed the pick up address and time . I even called Enterprise corporate customer service and they also saw the pickup location and time and said that I should not have to call on the day of. The Encinitas store manager wouldnt even give me any discount on the rental. I ended up cancelling the reservation and Ubered to another rental agency.

I rented a truck for 8 days for a camping trip in Sierra Nevadas and it was perfect for my needs. The truck was brand new and I averaged 25mpg. I got the insurance because we were camping in bear country and even though I didnt need it Kofi worked with me on the rental rate so I could get the insurance and stay within budget. I would rent another vehicle from this location. Only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because vehicle wasnt cleaned before I picked it up and I spent an hour cleaning it before I loaded up my family in it. I was also kind of mad that I was charged for mileage when Kofi told me he had given me unlimited mileage. That was an extra $50 I wasnt planning on spending.

I usually rent from Enterprise once to twice a month. When renting locally, I rent from here simply because of the friendly service. I have never had a problem with any of the cars I rented, ever! If you need a rental car, get it here. Reasonable rates.

Car was good and the people were nice but, I was very disappointed in the final bill. We took the DW insurance and my bill was almost double what I was expecting to pay. This should be explained when it is suggested. I will never get the insurance again. It added about $150 to my bill.

Staff is friendly and the car was fine. Checking in and out was easy and straightforward. They tried to push their insurance coverage a little too much, thus the loss of a star. Other than that it was great .

Car was not available for almost an hour past our be reservation time. The car provided was one size below what we reserved. Underwhelmed. ----- Manager called and made it right. Upgraded the car after the fact. Raised my original review from 3 to 4 stars.

Dan and his team do a great job! As busy as that store is, I have never waited more than a few minutes, and when the get to me, they always make me feel like I am the only one there. The process is quick and I am out of there in just a few. They have made every accommodation for me.

Ive been renting from both Carlsbad and Encinitas Enterprise rental cars. Today I used the Encinitas office and Jake had me in an upgraded vehicle within ten minutes. This office always goes out of their way to please us and does their best to provide quick and efficient service with a smile. I believe they have the most consciencious employees epecially Jake and Jason. Thank you for two decades of outstanding service.

Horrible, incompetent customer service. Waited on hold for 15 minutes to try to schedule a pickup, immediately transferred to a different number where the agent said there was nothing she could do to help since I was transferred to the wrong place and couldnt transfer me back. Called back and waited for another 15 minutes then got a message that the branch was closed. Called back again during business hours and waited for another 10 minutes for someone to answer... still waiting. Horrible, would never rent from this location - and probably not Enterprise - ever again.

We rented this Cadillac Escalade for a day which is advertised as a 7 seater. It is actually a 4 adult seater with three back seats only meant for 4-6 year old kids since those three back seats have their foot rest raised for some strange reasons and hardly there is any space for stretching. Added to that, the middle two seats are fixed and cannot be moved forward. Please dont rent this vehicle for 7 adults and the rental company should advise customers accordingly.

Worst service ever. They give you one price and then raise it when you get there. No one there seems to know what theyre doing. I was dealing with the manager and they couldnt even figure out how to run a rental through insurance. They also took money out of my card on file multiple times without my permission.

Charged me $12 for the 73 toll road. I went to pay for this toll online and the site wouldnt let me and said it had to be paid by the rental company. Enterprise upcharged me about $10. Pretty lazy way to lose a frequent customer.

The person at the office refused to stay open until 12:00 so I could pick up my reserved car, even though that was the closing time listed on the website. She wanted to lock up and leave, so I couldn’t get my car. Also they couldn’t pick me up.

I mention why she didn’t call me and let me know before I get there I mentioned that was the second time she did that the manager, refused to rent me Seriously? Poor communication and poor customer service! When I call and make the reservation, they say they have three trucks available this is my second time she did this to me terrible
