Wendy St. Clair did a fantastic job of managing our mortgage application and closing, including gracefully reacting to and seamlessly handling the many changes and issues along the way. She communicated really well, made sure we understood the process and the expectations, and was incredibly organized and efficient such that the last week or so of our closing was drama free (at least from the mortgage perspective). She clearly knows what she is doing, which is reassuring in such a big, complicated transaction. I think she also got us a good deal on our actual mortgage itself. Highly recommended.

Wendy did a fantastic job helping my wife and I obtain a loan for our house. We are expats that are preparing to repatriate to the US, and so our loan had some challenges because we had to do everything from Asia. Wendy was not only willing to work with us, but she made the process as easy as possible. She made sure that we had all the documents we needed in a timely manner before we had to go the US Embassy for notary services, she made sure that all of our questions that we had were answered in a timely manner, and she is also such a nice person to work with. I would highly recommend that you work with Wendy for all of your mortgage loan needs, especially if you are an expat preparing for repatriation. We recently bought our very first home in Texas and Leo from Empire Home Loans was exceptional! Leo communicated clearly and won us over with his customer service and knowledge. We shopped a couple lenders but Leo really won us over. He crunched the numbers for us multiple times and got us in a place we felt comfortable. Any time we had a question he was available via phone and text message. His team was phenomenal about ensuring we had all of our paperwork in on time and it was all correct. Rob Morin of Empire Home Loans was the first person we met to begin the process of buying a home. He was recommended to us through friends from work. He set our minds at ease from day one, and supported us at every step along the way. He answered any question we had and got back to us with info we needed at all hours of the day. Alyssa is a magician. I had gone to three other mortgage brokers before and was hesitant to even try and apply for another loan. I had a specific house I was trying qualify for. She some how worked her magic and was able to get me approved for the loan. She worked hard to move around different numbers to get me qualified. She is incredibly smart and good at her job. My home buying experience took a positive turn thanks to Nima. Initially, we faced setbacks with another loan officer who, after three weeks of inactivity, presented us with closing costs $10,000 higher than expected and seemed to be dragging the process. Fortunately, through my agent Tara’s recommendation, we turned to Nima. Impressively, Nima provided us with an accurate closing cost estimate within hours of our first meeting, saving us $10,000 compared to the previous officers quote. Not only did Nima offer us significant savings, but he also expedited our closing process, allowing us to close six days ahead of schedule. We originally had a different lender but had to change in the middle of our contract due to difficulties with the first lender and Jason was able to come into the picture with less then a month left til we closed. Very disappointed, Raisa Fudim and Cameron started working on my loan, I submitted everything timely, on the portal, via email etc. I spoke to her and explained her our process prior applying. It’s been over a month that they kept all my documents and never heard back from them. I called, text, called the corporate etc . and never received a courtesy call at least to hear “no”. Unfortunately we lost on the closing of the house due to lack of communication, and also in two other offers while we were waiting. Until this date never received a message, email …anyways. Glad this company has good reviews but definitely some loan officers working here literally do nothing to help to help prospective clients. 👎

Great experience. Alex Hall is a mortgage lending ninja! I felt very confident and informed during every step of the process. Because of unique situations, there were a few times we thought we were ready to refinance before we actually went through with it. Alex suggested doing some comparing with other lending options to try to find the best deal, including looking into what kind of deals we could get through our current mortgage company and our credit union, as they can often have incentives for current customers. More than once, competing lenders had given a quote that seemed to be better than what Empire could offer. Alex acknowledged it, and suggested that we take the other lenders offers. However, as we started the process with the other lenders, they were not able to honor their original quote. Even though we had decided to go with someone else, with Alexs blessing, I still came to him with questions. He looked at the other lenders offers and each time saw how they were not actually getting us a better deal. He lined up items from the competing loan options and clearly explained how Empire could in fact offer a better deal in the end, (lower interest, lower set up fees, etc.) Additionally, Alex really tried to consider the best time to initiate the process and lock in rates. He recommended waiting a week, with hopes for slightly better rates; then even waiting until the afternoon rather than morning to get shave even a little more off the rate, all which paid off. It really felt like he was trying to save us every penny he could, as if the loan was his own. I cant imagine anyone else, who was trying to get our business, work as hard to make sure they were our best option. On top of that, this was all during the initial craziness of the COVID-19 pandemic. I will recommend Alex and Empire as often as I can to family, friends, or anyone who will listen.
