I went in and looked at a used vehicle at this dealership. I thought it was a good price, and I liked the vehicle. It was literally the 1st car I looked at, so I told them I was going to look at a few others before making a decision, which I did.Got a call from manager Mike few days later. Told him was looking at same make and model in Roseville, 2 years newer with warranty and maint. Included at a little higher cost. He asked what it would take to get me to buy his vehicle. I told him including the same service/ warranty deal at the same sale price offered would do it. He agreed and said he would write it up, and we agreed for me to come in tomorrow with a cashiers check and get the car.Today I get a text from another manager, who asks what time Im coming in. I told him what time and asked him to give me the out the door cost for the vehicle so I could bring the cashier check. I reminded him to verify the warranty/service deal agreed to by Mike.He then sent me a quote with the sales price of car, but an additional $1000 dollars for upholstery protection, plus an add on extended warranty for an additional $3500.! When I explained this was not the deal I agreed to, and to have manager Mike call me, he then said the price matched the other vehicle, which was what I wanted, and someone else was coming to buy the car tomorrow anyway!What a waste of time. The managers here are dishonest to bait you to come in, and then try to change the deal with add ons. This is why people dont trust car dealers. Get a written agreement from these dishonest people before wasting your time going in to buy from them.

I don’t write reviews much. We had a terrible experience. We had the sale rep Ray help us. We wanted to get a Tiguan for my Dad. Ray was not helpful and we ended up leaving. Went next door to Toyota and got a RAV4 instead. Toyota was much better sales rep. I would recommend them over VW.

Purchased a $100,000 dollar 2022 Escalade 7 months ago. They delivered the car with broken glass all over the back seat which I cut myself on, Window tinting that had a sticker over the damaged tint and when I pulled it off the entire tint came off.The worst part is no one cares especially the GM Brandin Tenns to respond to my emails or give me the Knights number so I can tell them what a terrible experience Ive had with their company!Ive sent numerous emails and no response directly to his desk and multiple other people.

We had been looking at VW atlas for a few weeks and after going to a few other dealers, we landed with Elk Grove VW and I’m so happy we did. Our salesman was Diego and we have nothing but amazing things to say about our experience with him and the entire staff. We live 2.5 hrs from Elk Grove and Diego took pictures as I requested and communicated with all my requests and questions days before we made the trip. It didn’t really feel like that typical car buying experience. It felt so relaxed and they were more than accommodating when it came to negotiating pricing/the trade in of our vehicle. We enjoyed every minute and as we drove home in our new Atlas, my husband and I both said how flawless and non stress the whole experience was! We will definitely recommend Diego and Elk Grove VW to everyone we know!

As somebody who is working a crazy schedule, Ive had to make a few appointments and then be an annoying no-show. However, when I finally got around to being faithful to my appointment request (sorry again!), the team here was nothing short of amazing. Worst experience ever by dealing them, i was there to buy 2024 vw jetta. And the staff is there is totally uneducated and non experienced. They don’t even know how to deal with their clients. They misguided us and took 2-3 days for selling us vw jetta, persons who didn’t deal properly their names are Diego, michael Boxton (Sales manager), bobby. We are longtime VW owners (55 years and more); third car purchased from EG VW, three different owners--and we have been pleased with the cars and the care we have received. Luis did a great job--close contact and sup[ort, open to questions and concerns, and most important, gave us solid information or careful not to claim what wasnt answerable. His associate gave us faulty information on two points, worked to sell us; Luis served our needs, listened, and solved.An idea: folks like us come to electric cars with worries and misconceptions; offer an evening or weekend session for possible customers to come in, air out their issues, hear about this new world of electric, zero carbon vehicles, offer a test drive. We initiated this kind of exploration out of our own energies, and found that the transition to electric cars was less jolting than we expected. With a group of curious learners in the dealership, a trusting and confident mood can be developed, and more folks would decide to take the plunge. Happy owners could be included.

I can only comment on my experience with service department... I have requested a quote for timing belt/water pump service. They called me back with a quote exceeding by $800 all other dealerships in the area... When I asked for a written estimate, I was told that they only estimate pricing over the phone! That sure sounds like a scam to me! Will not be going there for sure!

Updates on the status of my repair was poor. I’d only get updates them when I reach out myself, and even then, responses were slow with sometime not even getting a response. After the repair, there was scratch damage to my trunk lift gate. Overall experience with the car and dealership was regrettable. To sum it all up, I’d say buyer’s remorse.

I chose this rating due to the fact that I was in your lobby waiting for my car. I received a text message saying they recommend the wipers to be replaced, was this something I wanted to do. There wasnt any cost /estimate associated to the text. I said yes to replacing the wipers.When the vehicle was ready, the service represenative said I owed $107.00 for the wipers. He said it was attached to the text. I showed him my phone and said there was not anything attached to the text showing an estimate. He then proceeded to state there was a system update to the VW computer program system and it must have not gone through. I explained to him that if I had known the cost, i would have declined the wipers. I asked if they were covered in the warranty and he said no because of the wear and tear. I said I dont think i should pay for this and if there was something that could be done because of the computer update not sending me the estimate on the text. He said he was going to go out to see if the old wipers were still there so they can change the new ones out for the old ones since i wasnt going to pay.

I went to buy a new car nothing crazy out of my budget. Credit score is about 600 I also had about 1500 down .My sales associate told me that they were going to run VW first before they even tried a second bank. What’s my problem? I checked on my credit report and they ran four different banks, and it dropped my credit score . I am super irritated that they were trying to make a deal no matter what. I did not approve for four banks !! if I don’t get approved, let me know. Don’t try just to make a deal. This is why sales people have bad names I absolutely won’t ever use elk Grove again. !! The best car buying experience I’ve ever had. Excellent knowledge from the sales team, no pressure, and great service from everyone involved. I have been coming to this facility for over 4 years now. However this was the first time I encountered Miguel Rodriguez. Mr Rodriguez was not able to provide adequate support for my issue (a torn CV boot) and he was not very forthcoming when asked why would he want the axle to be changed immediately. He did mention that the mechanic had heard clicking noise on turns however this is not substantiated as I have not heard anything on any turns or roundabouts. Also the quote provided by Mr Rodriguez does not provide a breakdown between labor and parts.My biggest concern is that this was the first time I felt that this dealership is also pushing for services which I do not need and basically not very truthful about the issue and the resolution.

The staff went out of their way to find us exactly the vehicle that fit our needs, and not only that, but were respectful when we wanted to see our other options from other dealerships. There was an issue with the tire pressures that I had to correct myself due to the fact I was under a time constraint to pick up the car. they did walk me through solving the issue once we figured out exactly what it was. there was a one minor part missing that they are now going to mail to me which we both agreed would be the easiest way to get it to me since I am not in the town of the dealership. the overall experience was very good and dealing with the sales staff was very good.

We had always received excellent service from Lasher VW. I am not sure when the dealership sale occurred but our last several services have resulted in return visits because of careless mistakes. Our most recent service, simple oil change and def service, the mechanic put the wrong plug in our car. We now have several large oil spots on our driveway and had to arrange to return and pick up our car for an additional service. I get it. Mistakes occasionally happen but this is now routine. And the service tech, Antonio, was super nonchalant, like they did us a favor performing the service we paid for and expected. Today, I received an email from Carfax about my vehicle service. I assume somewhere in the fine print it was authorized but I don’t want our information shared with a third party. We will not be returning.

The experience until the car was not sold was great. Luis ( sales rep) was very professional & experience with him was great. He was able to answer all our questions & gave us various options . He followed up with me & all was very professional .My experience changed the moment I signed the papers & took over the vehicle.I was charged for LoJack, Brightline theft, brightline resistall but none of the these things were applied on the vehicle.I was told that someone from service team will call me to get these things installed/applied. I waited for couple of days but no one called, I want to dealership twice but was given assurances that someone will contact me but no result. Finally visiting the third time to dealership, I was able to get hold of person from service department who booked an appointment for installing the required parts/equipment.When I finally got LoJack installed, I went to accounts department to get it activated on 11/2 . I was assured that LoJack will be activated & I should expect an email with code to activate my account. I didn;t get anything. I went again to the dealership for followup but again was given false promises that it will be activated.Yesterday I called Luis & he assured that he will talk to finance department but still no progress on the case.It is so frustrating that even after so many followups, I am not getting the services that I have paid for in advance after so many weeks.

The rescheduling appointment was a disaster… I was supposed to drop my car off Monday night by my appointment was for Tuesday? The rental car was disgusting inside and not electric. I had to pay for the gas used ( brought it back with more gas than was given to me with). The customer service people did not return my calls when I wanted to know when my car would be ready. They would only state 2-3 days… ridiculous when someone is trying to balance work and kids and car pick up. Not impressed.. will prob ever buy another VW because of the dealership service experience

The team made it such a hassle free process for me. They gave me the best rate possible and searched until they got the best numbers out there! I called Brandin (sales manager) first thing in the morning and I commuted to the location and was out within two hours!! That’s unheard of with purchasing vehicles. At least in my experiences. Diego was amazing and was very attentive with every step of the way with my purchase. Austin was also a tremendous help with all the financing paperwork. They even are going to replace my back tires having >80% tread and paying for me to get back to their location being that I commuted there. They have an amazing team there at Elkgrove VW. The service is very good.However, after making an appointment for me, They made a mistake about the time of my appointment. The front desk made an appointment for me at 11 am on Tuesday, and I did not receive any SMS or email for the appointment. Tried the next day still the same experience, took long time to finally talk to service department and rescheduled.Not greeted when arriving at the service center.service representative was not explaining any of the service detail and just handed the papers for signing.During service, received a text asking for approval on additional service recommendations without any supporting information, when asking for the detail, was directed back to the approval page, which I already reviewed and lacked any detail but cost approval.When picking up the car, still no explanation at all on what was done except the paid service to replace tires.There is just lack of service energy and willingness to communicate.

My husband and I had to unexpectedly replace one of our vehicles and car shopping is my least favorite thing to do. We loved our previous Atlas, so we came to Elk Grove from Roseville to check out what they had. We were greeted by Luis who was so nice and welcoming. We told him what we were looking for and he was so helpful with showing us what they had and bringing each one up to the front for us to look at. They lost/misplaced my $15,000 down payment check. I purchased a new 2023 TAOS after a long day of car shopping at the Sacramento VW dealer I usually work with. I came to Elk Grove VW purchased and signed all the documents and handed over the check before EOD on 6/20/23.I get a call while I am at the airport coming home from vacation on 7/20/23 from Rosa the finance associate I signed my paperwork with asking “what’s going on with my down payment?”. She asked me for the check number (which I don’t have access to at the moment because I am trying to bard a plane) because there is a possibility they credited the amount to another account.I had to include the sales manager on the conversation to get any kind of expedited response.Resolution: They chalked it up to an accounting error. So what I am hearing is that the sales manager and accounting department manager doesn’t have full oversight of their department and staff. How does this happen? Both the accounting department and sales department needs to have an in services on customer service vitals and professionalism. In no way would I have called a customer without investigating it further and having all the facts. I’m glad they called me but they 100% didn’t have all the facts before contacting me. I would not recommend purchasing from here. The sad thing is now I am stuck taking my vehicle here for all warranty items instead of the dealership I would like to work with. Shop at Niello VW on Arden Way. I’ve been servicing my other car there for years with no issues what so ever.My takeaway: Perception is reality VW Elk Grove. This looks bad on the entire dealership. A complete failure on all parts. I think perception on the situation could have been placated if the delivery and tone of the initial conversation from Rosa was met with a more professional choice of words. Think more of “Hi ____ this is Rosa from VW Elk Grove following up on your account” instead of “so what’s going on with your down payment?”Also a timely resolution. It’s been 30 days since the check was handed over. Could this have been identified and taken care of earlier instead of the end of the month (July). The sales manager did say the reason why this was identified is because accounting needed to close out accounts for the sales department from June to get paid appropriately for their sales for the month prior. Completely shocked and disappointed.

Me and my wife were looking to get her into a new 3 rows vehicle. Compare to Subaru, Honda, and Nissan, Volkswagen had the best in class space. We went to a different Volkswagen dealer near us and they were extremely rude and unprofessional. The staff at Niello was friendly and they were able to find a vehicle that check all our boxes, something that the other Volkswagen dealer did not even offer. Not to mention that the paperwork was filled in about one and a half our. My wife (Elizabeth) and I (Rey) could not be any happier with the experience and our vehicle. This place is highly recommended.

The first time that we stopped by, we met Keann Llaban, who was very polite and welcoming, asked us what vehicle we would like to look at, showed us options, answered our questions and was not pushy at all. We told him that we would think about it and may come back. Keann gave us his business card. Once we decided, we called the dealership and was told that Keann would be off for a couple days. We made arrangements to meet with Graham Copps, who shared the same qualities as Keann. Long story, everything flowed, we purchased an Atlas Cross Sport and it was the best experience that we have ever had at a dealership!

I have still yet to receive my email summary of the visit but am receiving a survey. Also, one of the porters/techs stole change out of my car. Obviously I cant prove it, but I know how much change was there, and when picking up the car it was less than when I dropped off. I suspect the thief knew they would never get called out on it, and Im reporting it because I am likely not the first victim, and wont be the last. I dont care about the money - but the ethics and morals are a concern. A few bucks from each car adds up and hopefully other customers have reported this as well. I will not be bringing my car back to Elk Grove VW.The service was speedy which I appreciate. The sticker for when to return is quite tacky though.

I was excited to purchase my second Vehicle here. I came in pre-approved for $32k from my bank lender. I only came to this dealership because the dealership was under the cuddle program offered. I called and explained my pre-approval to Bobby. Drove a 2022 Tiguan and sat to discuss numbers. I explained I had a pre-approval and I was firm on my price. Bobby explained they had to verify my pre-approval although I was approved and was only looking to discuss numbers and fees. Made an appointment online, but my son and husband were told there was no appointment, even after showing the worker a screenshot of the appointment at Elk Grove VW. A new person we hadnt dealt with in the past says we missed two regularly scheduled maintenances, but during that time we took it to VW regularly and always got what was required. She said maybe the other employees didnt notice it was due. And since we missed those two maintenances, we couldnt buy a plan like we had in the past. Took my new ID.4 in for an issue with the airbag system under warranty. I get that it is a new car, but they seemed to have no idea how long the repairs would take and could not give me a good description of what the issue was. When my car was finally done I was happy to see the technician working on my car had clear notes in the paperwork. Unfortunately the person washing my car used something abrasive and my new car is now completely covered in scratches!! I came in with a brake pedal vibration on my 2022 Jetta after being blown off by a local VW dealer with the classic “cannot duplicate so must be normal” excuse. From Don my service rep to Jim the manager, everyone handled themselves with the utmost professionalism. Jim was especially fantastic. He spend a lot of time with me comparing vehicles, contacting higher ups, and working with the techs to make sure no stone was left unturned. He approached it as if it were his own car. Turned out the brake booster was defective and needed to be replaced. Part arrived ahead of schedule, they fixed it up the same day, and now the pedal is perfectly smooth. Great warranty experience.Modern day cars rarely require major repairs whilst under warranty. Hence most warranty interactions with dealerships are for small issues: a knob broke, a door latch no longer works and in my case the fuel panel cover stuck.In the past Honda, Buick and even Cadillac have always dismissed these claims from me as being user operator error. But Don from EG Volkswagen really took the time to understand the issue and see it was a legitimate claim. At first I thought this dealership was perfect! I live on the entire other side of the usa on the east cost and Bobby helped me through the process super nicely and the experience at first was good! After receiving the car I come to notice that they drilled a license plate mount into the perfectly good bumper of a RARE 1/1500 YELLOW car and did not care they ruined the car like this or even enough to tell me they PURPOSELY damaged my car. It’s very clear there is no need for the plate to be drilled in, the holder is in the grille NOT on the bumper, it’s common sense. Although I had an easy experience buying that would have me give them 5 stars, I don’t believe they even deserve 1. It’s very conniving that they would leave that fact out to someone who is purchasing from the entire other coast. As a previous RS1 owner I KNOW that the plate and mount are not screwed in so it was not even plausible for me to assume there would be holes hiding under something NOT meant to be drilled in. Make sure you make them take off the plate holder before purchasing any of these cars or you will have a very upsetting surprise hiding under it and no justice for their very large mistake.

First, I would like to say that Adam was an awesome. I have no complaints about him. Then enters Tony. He came in saying the dealership was taking a loss with his first offer. I told him that the numbers didnt work for my budget. In a very condescending tone, he told me I could afford it if I really wanted the truck. He was rude, when I would not accept his first offer. I thanked him for his time shook his hand and left. When I had gotten a couple of blocks away I received a call from Adam saying I had left my registration and the other set of keys. When I walked back into Tonys office Adam handed me the keys and registration. Tony was on the phone and hung up as I was walking out of his office. Tony said someone mad a mistake and put the wrong amount that the company had paid for the vehicle and could offer almost $1500 less for the truck. I agreed to the deal. I went back today with a cashiers check and a letter from my credit union. As Tony was writing out the receipt, i asked him to write paid in full on the receipt. He said he would not do that because my cashiers check hadnt cleared the bank. I reminded him that a cashiers check was guaranteed payment. Again he said my check hadnt cleared the bank. Insinuating that the cashiers check might be fraudulent. Had I not already signed the contract, i would have taken my check and left. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT A LASHER DEALERSHIP AGAIN. I will tell everyone I know my poor experience at the Lasher dealership. When I left I had a few choice words and walked out.

I tried exposing something else and it was at this point Don got jumpy and raised his voice with me barking something at me saying don’t yell at him (it was at this time he realized they had the WRONG WINDOW) and after being yelled at I hung up the phone on Dob because I had no interest in arguing. Took a deep breath and called back, Don kept yelling at me, never mentor they ordered the wrong window and never apologized for his candor.I was them forwarded to his boss the new service manager ... who apologized and took responsibility for the wrong window being ordered.I called back a few hours later because this didn’t sit right with me, I think and I still feel Don knew at 10:47am when left me the first message they had ordered the wrong window and had wasted 18days of my time waiting.When dealerships screw up and don’t want to man up or take fair responsibility for their mistakes they tend to blame the customer and that’s exactly what happens today.This ended with the service manager from Laser VW yelling at me like the girl he really is saying “I’ll mail you a refund check” ... We had a horrible experience with the Elk Grove Volkswagen. We are previous VW Jetta owners who were looking to buy a used Jetta same day. They had one that was sitting on the lot for almost 60 days at a good price, however we tried to negotiate it $500 due to high taxes and it was a color that we didnt like. I pointed out that the car has been on the lot for a while and we can tell they would want to get rid of it. He claims that the battery died because it was cold outside and that he had it running the night before. I had a VW convertible when I was in my 20s and always thought I would love to have another. I have needed a new car for a lot of years, but loved my 20 yr old Pontiac convertible. I was so impressed with my purchase experience at Elk Grove VW that I will recommend anyone who is looking to purchase a new or used car from an honest, personable, professional team to come to this location. Ty Ketsavong was our sales associate and he was knowledgeable and not pushy, very friendly and easy to work with. We decided to purchase a used car and during the process and Tony the Sales manager came in and highlighted that the car had some work done on it but that it passed the 112 point inspection and was certified by VW. I felt he didnt have to make the extra effort as it was late and he probably had to finish paperwork but instead he sat with us to help with our questions. Tony was personable and honest and we truly believe he had our best interested at heart, not just the businesses or his own. When we went to finalize the paperwork we met with Rachelle. Both times we were just BLOWN AWAY by the customer service experience we had. In particular, when the check engine light was on - when we went to pick up the car, the service manager Jeff said you have a great warranty that covers... and we thought he was going to say that the warranty didnt cover the work they did (and we would have been really bummed out). But what he ended up saying was this wouldnt be covered by your warranty. But, because it was not caused by you, and because it was nothing that could have been seen before you purchased, we billed the used car department. So, no money out of our pocket!Just WOW WOW WOW is all we can say about this dealer, all around. We want to send as much business their way as we can!

Talk about seamless. I called the dealership with a question and was lucky enough to have Tony, the Sales Manager, answer my call. Long story short, Tony provided the information I needed and worked with me throughout the day over the phone to find me a new car that I wanted and that worked for my budget. After having major game playing and difficulty at another dealership trying to purchase a new vehicle, I phoned sales at the elk grove dealership. Darren Yu answered my questions and then met me when I arrived. We went on a test drive and he was very knowledgeable about the car. He was very nice and no pressure at all. I had to leave town on business and we were on our way into buy the car the following Monday and it sold minutes before we arrived. I was very disappointed to say the least. They offered me the same deal on another color. No pressure dealership for sure. Good deal! Already had the check to purchase the car and I didnt like how I was treated when paying cash, there isnt enough financing people in the dealership and they lack communication between the few that are there! I have texted Darren about the car since owning it and he has answered questions for me since this is my first VW. Would go back to Darren Yu again, if I got the same run around to sign docs I would not do it again! I think we went a total of 7 times! We live over 120 miles round trip! No joke! There was a issue with the car when we went to pick it up and I appreciate that the dealership wanted us to take with out the issue. So they stepped up and service rushed to fix it so we could pick up the car all ready to go. The 2013 Jetta Sportswagen is indeed awesome. It is getting 45+ miles to the gallon and I am very happy with it for the price.

Im not one to write reviews but after yesterdays experience I couldnt let it go. Yesterday reminded me of the old bait and switch scenarios from the 70s. I realize this dealer has been around since 1951 but I didnt think the employees would be. I wanted to purchase via email or text and have the car delivered to me. I totally thought I had all of this done until I asked to see the final numbers before they drove out. Thats when the concern came out. The numbers on the trade had changed. I blame this on the management staff. The sales associate Jimmy was awesome the entire time. This in no way should reflect him at all. I was told once that the only thing a person cant take away from you is your INTEGRITY. I have lived by this all of my life. It appears that INTEGRITY is not a big deal in the management of this store. Getting things via text, email or writing doesnt mean you will get the deal you thought you were getting. This experience made me think of the 70s movie Suckers. You should watch it then go to this store for a dose of reality. I do want to thank Jimmy for having the integrity his management team did not.

Bought my car in August of 2018. Started out great, easy to work with, great price, etc. Went in to do paperwork. Checked rates before, through my bank, which would give me a .25% decrease on the interest rate because i am a preferred customer. Showed that to the sales guy, Bobby, he took my phone into the Finance guy, Eddie, to make sure that i was going to get that rate through my bank. Eddie said yes, they will do an internal rate adjustment. Well of course, they didnt. And eddie knew they wouldnt, I truly felt like I was taken advantage of, I was by myself, with my elderly mom and her little dog. My husband couldnt go with me. I didnt know any better. Just bought a brand new 2017 Golf GTI. I live in Visalia and drove all the way up to Elk Grove, roughly 200 miles and about a 3 hour drive. It was worth the drive! This is a new and better way to buy a car. Why cant it be this easy every where else. My husband and I work long hours and have 2 kids so we didnt have time to shop around for a car. We knew what model we wanted so started emailing dealerships. A couple didnt respond, a couple insisted that we come in and meet them, a couple went ahead and gave us quotes. Elk Grove went well above and beyond. They continued to exceed the best quotes we got, answered all of our emailed questions in a very timely manner. And now for the best part.... we submitted all of our paperwork by email, made an appointment to pick up the car on a Satruday. I was in and out of the dealership in 45 minutes, driving away in my new car. The trade in, lease signing, and review of the car took no time at all. I was certain that I was going to arrive and they would try to renegotiate the price, etc. That couldnt be further from the truth - everyone was ready and prepare to get me in and out of the door on the exact terms we had prenegotiated. My wife wanted to venture out and do something different than a Chevy, so she did the research and was interested in the Volkswagen Passat. We found a certified used vehicle at Elk Grove VW. We were a little bit nervous at first with the great experiences we had at Chevy - however when it is all said and done Elk Grove VW proved to also be a first class, top notch dealer. From our sales rep (Kyle) to the service manager (Tony) and the rest of the team, we were treated with respect and not pushed whatsoever. The credit application process was streamlined and simple - everything was disclosed. All in all a real positive experience - if you are looking for a great car and excellent support, I would highly recommend Elk Grove VW. We even had our 3 kids with us on the day of purchase and they treated them great as well. They did a great job for us and we would definitely purchase from them again!

When I decided to get a new car, I searched online for vehicles online and considered my options. I have owned VW cars and have had positive experiences with both the brand and the local Lasher service shop downtown. I was happy to find a vehicle online, a certified pre-owned Jetta SportWagen, that was offered for sale at the Elk Grove Lasher VW dealer. I called and Mark Cox, the sales rep, offered to meet me to see the car and any others from their available inventory that would meet my needs. Mark was personable, helpful, and informative. He answered all my questions and conveyed an excellent customer service attitude. I test drove the car; it was just what I needed. When it came time to negotiate a deal, I was impressed with how the team that works together at Lasher worked with me to complete the process. I drove my new car home that day and the next day, Mark called me to ensure I was happy with the car and answer any follow-up questions. Took my 2015 VW CC in for regularly scheduled maintenance and a minor repair... they then tried to charge me over $4500 for what they call “regular maintenance” and one of the things they said I “Needed” is a “Carbon Clean” which they wanted over $1000 for. I have talked to other shops about this and they all said it’s not mandatory by any means and I got quoted a much lower price closer to $100... never returning to another VW dealership ever again. The questionable safety of driving my 2005 VW Jetta is what hung in the balance.I as other dissatisfied customers have gone to using alternate facilities rather than Elk Grove/Lasher VW because of previous staff persons lack of attention and other problems in servicing of our vehicles. ?My phone conversation from online information was productive. The discussion of a trade-in came up, I was asked to bring the car in for an immediate inspection for pricing which I did.Upon inspection finding the blown engine the price was very low. Safety and peace of mind came into play as first priorities.Financial output and payments were cut to the bare minimum by the Sales Manager. I have service my 2002 golf TDI with the downtown service on S and 10th and it has been great service. From John to Peter, the guy who always drives me and picks me up.When the car finally died after a few hundred thousand miles, I drove over 35 cars at many dealers. This was the first and last I visited. Austin, the young sales guy, and Howard, the manager, were mellow and no pressure. I have a very busy job and had to come back a few times to test drive a car. They never hassled me. Even drove VW in Roseville and Fairfield when comparing and these guys were the best, low pressure group. I originally bought my 2002 at Niello and they were rude and high pressure and I got an an average deal with walking away 3 times. Did not make that mistake this time and got an above average deal in 30 min. Was very nice experience.I drove all their cars, but was deciding on a Golf R. This car drives better than $50K mercedes and BMW. I recommend reading all the non-biased car reviews and you will see the same thing. And this was the only dealer that let me drive the car the way I drive it, experiencing it all. When driving the Subaru WRX STI and Mitusbishi Lancer, I did not get to feel the car as much as I did here The other dealers in area were too controlling limited my ability to play with the car. They sold this car to me on the first drive with that attitude. Only the El Dorado Mercedes came close with their CLS, but it was still far away in customer service for a car a third the price.

I have been looking for a economical sedan with creature comforts and the decision was between a Nissan and VW Passat, the Passat won. VW currently has a fantastic financing special on its Passats (0%, or 0.9%), the gas mileage is reasonable, and the look is very simple and linear (European), and the feel of the ride is firm, meaning it is well-built. I knew I wanted to purchase soon, and I wanted to keep the dollars local, if we could reach a deal that was reasonable and we did. The other factor regarding the purchase of my VW Passat at Elk Grove VW was the friendly sales staff, particularly Kevin and Mark. I contacted Kevin by the internet and he called on the phone and set the test drive for Saturday, we discussed the details and I purchased it. Sales person was Ryan Caudill from VW A+++. The VW location was absolutely amazing. I purchased my Passat in July of this year. We first visited their sister store the Dodge location, who claimed the Passat was not available and tried to get me in one of the cars on their lot. They said the Passat was not available, even though I found it on the website for VW, and the salesman told me that the VW location was their sister store, part of the Lasher Auto Group. I was told that my pre-approved loan was not transferable to the VW location. Frustrated we left. They called trying to get us to buy other cars on their lot even though we told them we were not interested. As a last resort, we just stopped by VW a few days later just to see what they would say about the Passat I had seen. The whole team was amazing. They got the car certified, and available to purchase. They got my financing approval transferred. Ryan was the best. I drove my car off the lot within 24 hours of walking in the door. I went to have my car serviced at Elk Grove Volkswagon because my regular service personnal was not available. The first time I went it seems that they provided good service, but when I went back at least 3 times for the same problem, my car was never repaired, and according to thier records it was fixed. Giving them the benefit of the doubt and trying 2 other times, the same problem persisted. Just recently with the same on going problem that it became apparent that there is something very seriously wrong with this company and thier service. After being told by the Service Supervisor that when I brought my car to be serviced all the other times and because of the same problem persisting, that they would provide a loaner car. I said that would be great, only to find out that the day of bringing in my car that they are no longer providing loaner cars, and it was misinformation given. I took my car in for the 3rd time (???) and paid for a rental on my own, not to mention all the misinformation they quoted. The Head Supervisor even called the rental established and lounged a complaint to them without ever checking with me because I arrived back to thier dealership to pick up paperwork that I had forgotten in my car later that afternoon. I find this behavior strange, since He did not check with me first. Upon bringing in my car, the Head Supervisor Cecil even had a mechanic sit in the car with me to test drive it before it had been fixed it for the 3rd time, to see if he could hear the same noise, which he did. When I picked up my car I was assured that all was fine, that there was a loose bolt and it had been tightened. I mentioned my concern to the Head Supervisor, Cecil that there was no need to contact the rental company and state a complaint since the rental company had provided excellent service. The day I picked up my car and after driving it a couple of blocks, I noticed the same problem persisting. With thier track record, and having experienced the worse possible service, I came to the conclusion that I would not return my car to have service there. I did call them to notify them of the problem, and I did speak to The Head Supervisor Cecil only to tell me that according to them it had been repaired. I will state that they did not charge me any fees for the 3 times that I brought my car out to them, but I would of rather they charged me and fixed it, than not doing anything, Go figure!!!

I bought a new 2015 VW Sportwagen 6 weeks ago from Lasher VW and had a good experience. I gave them a glowing Yelp review. Im sad to report that this dealership is not what I thought it was. As many of you have heard, VW deceived the public by installing fraudulent emissions software on all their diesel TDI vehicles from 2009 to 2015. This is one of the worst cases of automobile fraud ever. Regardless of what fix they might come up with, it has made all VW TDIs virtually worthless, and their credibility has been permanently damaged.Today I took my recently bought 2015 Golf Sportwagen TDI back to Elk Grove (Lasher) VW and told them I wanted to return the vehicle based on the fraud. I was even willing to buy a different (Non VW) car on their lot. Their response was extremely sad and disappointing. They would not take any responsibility for this absolute deception, and basically did not want to work with me. I personally spoke to the general manager, Patrick, who did not want to take any responsibility either. He told me that he did not want to take on the risk of having the car sit on their lot for several months waiting to see how VW was going to handle the problem and not knowing if there would be a fix. He did not know if and when he could resell the car. His exact words. I also had two sales people tell me it was Volkswagens problem and not theirs. Wow!After several hours of difficult discussions, they finally agreed to buy the car back from me at a very reduced value. I lost 6K in the deal. They told me that the vehicle has lost its value due to this event, and that is all they could offer me. Wow! Talk about a lack a faith in their own product. It told me that they know these cars are now worthless. When I told them I would buy another non VW car on the lot, they wouldnt take any money off their asking price. Not very good customer service, especially after selling me a faulty vehicle.I was treated like trash. Patrick and the Lasher family should feel ashamed of themselves. Please do not shop for a car at this dealership. They are unethical. Stay away from buying a Volkswagen, diesel or not. They are a deceptive company. They will not retain their value, and their resale will be horrible for decades to come. Do not reward VW or this unethical dealership with you hard earned money. It will end up being a waste. Take your money to a reputable car manufacturer and reputable dealership.You cant sell bad products and then turn you back on your customers. Shame on you!

Drove by. Seen a car that caught my eye. Toyota Avalon on the used lot. Checked it out. Test drove it. Liked it. Went in to do paper work. Agreed on the price. RAN MY CREDIT!! Then they told me they had wrong price on it. Went from 18000 to 24000 in less than 10 minutes. They said it was a mistake. They also try to explain how they dont do bait and switch and I was like, thats exactly what they did!! They also tried to rate me at 6% on a 700+ credit score. I explained how they just wasted my time and ran my credit and what they are gonna do about it. Expecting some kind of compensation? They said the couldnt do nothing. I walked out feeling played so heres their well deserved review!
