My family and I had a great experience at Elk Grove Subaru. We arrived close to their closing time, yet they still had no problem helping us without rushing us at all. Hash, our salesman, was great. He is a very personable guy, it did not feel like we were talking to a salesman for most of the time. He stayed long after closing to help us with our purchase. He helped us find the exact fit with his incredible knowledge of their inventory, understanding our needs and preferences. Wow!!Wow!!Wow!! What a fantastic experience. I want to personally acknowledge Keaton, Megan, Sam and Bobby. My wife and I love our new Outback. We now get why Subaru has such loyal customers and why people hold them in such high regard. Keaton and Megan were no pressure, no slimy sales tactics and extremely patient. We drove 5 cars on our first visit and another on a second visit. Never any pressure to close a deal. Sam the sales manager was the same we told what we wanted and what we wanted to pay and he made it happen. Bobby the finance guy was also very kind and made the finance portion enjoyable. I had a really good experience buying my new Crosstrek with Hash. He was really responsive, and made sure I got the car I wanted, in the right color, and ordered all my accessories so that they could be installed before pick up. The finance manager (I am spacing on her name) was also really great to work with when doing my loan paperwork. Overall, I was out the door in like three hours from start to finish which is unheard of when buying a car. Definitely recommended.

I worked with Melissa to purchase my second Subaru Outback. She was great. When another local dealership gave me a better deal she was straight forward and said she couldn’t match their deal. I left and half way to the other dealership their salesperson called to say he made a slight mistake but if I came in they would do me right. I turned around and went right back to Elk Grove Subaru. I have been to this Subaru locations for multiple drop ins, every time just wanting to test drive a car and they always gave me that opportunity. When I was looking for a new car for my wife, I had a model in mind, loved it, however my wife had other thoughts. Now, it was time for me to get my own toy, glad to have reached out to Marissa who had helped me in the past, and her manager Mike stepped in and assisted me as she had the day off. Ultimately, the duo was superb, I never felt pressured to buying more than I wanted and they made the process easy for me! I have never had a new car nor a Subaru before. He’s right in that Subaru is a quality car and it speaks for itself. He was knowledgeable on what the features were in our car. Elk Grove Subaru had to be the worst costumer service I have ever been to. They give you the run around. Try to purchase a car that was posted online and went to go look for it and they can’t find it. They said it was in body shop. I then asked why is it in body shop there has to be a reason why it went. They just look to the left always and said I don’t know. The car was 12k at first. Then they found out I wanted to trade my car in so they lowered the price. Then when I came in to talk numbers on trade in they said ok they will give you 14k at first but after replacing the windshield they said it dropped too 11,227. The price of the car I wanted to trade in for. My car is worth trade in value 17-18k. They really trying to take advantage of a woman and when I raised my voice saying you think I’m stupid. They came back in 2 mins said oh ok 17k we will give you. Like that point I said no. I’m done. They lie they hide things and take advantage of people. Beyond WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!

Had a positive buying experience at Elk Grove Subaru buying my first Subaru. I started online with the dealerships online sales people and finished with the same person who had been taking to me all along and answered all my questions. There was no upfront pressure of any kind. Pricing was upfront and transparent. From pulling in to driving away in my new Crosstrek, i was out in just about three hours. Everyone I encountered was upbeat and positive and helpful. They have a nice waiting area where I was able to take in one of the Wild Card Weekend games between signing and waiting and they had a hardy amount of grab and go snacks, coffee maker and water. Best advice I can give anyone considering this dealership is, its well worth the drive from the greater bay area to make for a solid deal. Literally passed half a dozen other Subaru dealerships before arriving here. Start online so your desired car is ready when you arrive and save yourself the back hassle.

I would never buy here. Because cars are so expensive these days I felt the need to warn others.Deon reached out to me about a car I wanted. Informed him I was coming and when I pulled up they had the car in the front.Some lady helped me and sat me down and tried several times to log into the computer. Sales tactic Im assuming. She never got the computer on. I never met Deon yet she would go and speak with him.They presented me false credit score and tried to tell me thats my credit and I pulled it up and it was totally not it. They claimed thats what they had on their end. She went to double check and came back with again, lower false credit score.I text other dealerships what numbers they had on their end and it was not that low. I walked out.Went to Maita Subaru and Roseville Subaru. Loved Maita and Roseville because they were 100 transparent. I ended up purchasing from Rosevillle because they had the color I wanted.I would avoid Elk Grove Subaru.

Bought a vehicle with 21k miles. It was in pretty good shape and we had a good deal. Just felt upset the electronics were a bit... well, broken. Two years ago we would have said that the customer service at Elk Grove Subaru was awesome. I have read some reviews that still have that opinion today. I have had a horrible experience with customer service. The young lady that answered the phones was rather bothered that she had to answer questions and very put out that I asked for a sales manager. It was hard to understand her and her headset kept cutting out. Whomever answers the phones is the first point of contact for your customers. I would suggest having someone that can speak clearly and has had customer service training being your first point of contact. I have asked for two years to have a car that I have never owned removed from my account, yet it is still there. Pick a different dealership my friends. Subaru is a great make of car just pick a better place to do your business.

Today, after scheduling my appointment, I dont feel comfortable having my car serviced at Elk Grove Subaru.In December, 2 weeks after I purchased my Ascent, I took it in to have hitch installed and driver seat looked at. According to my invoice, the car was washed, tires was aired, and seat problem was not found. On my way home, I noticed my windshield was dirty, I checked tire pressures, 3 of the 4 tires had different pressures. Then I found scratches on the panels in the trunk. I called the service department they gave a run around. When the customer service manager called me regarding the Shell gift card for my new car purchase I told her about my problem, she got the ball rolling at first. The service manager admitted they havent washed the car in weeks. She scheduled an appointment for me to the car back. When I called to reschedule that appointment the service department didnt have it and no one cared.Today, I scheduled appointment for oil change and to have my front air bag, brake switch, eye-sight, and driver seat looked at. The person I spoke with asked me why I wanted it looked at. He didnt write anything down, just said it take about 3 hours. I had a feeling he didnt care. I feel uncomfortable.So I called Modesto Subaru. The lady listened to my concerns, wrote it down and had her service advisor talked to me about appointment. According to service advisor, it takes all day.Can I trust that Elk Grove Subaru will take care my car? I dont feel comfortable taking my car to Elk Grove Subaru after today.

I walked in steadfast in my belief that I was not buying a car that day-only looking. I met with Arno and then Art. They had me test drive an Outback. Loved the way this car handled and all it came with. Hated the color. I asked about the chances of finding the car in another color. I was told what so many dealers had been saying, there is limited inventory. Several times I was set to walk out the door but in the end they gave me an offer I just couldnt refuse. I really do love my new car and my son said hed get it wrapped for me. 😁. Now dont get me wrong, I did not feel pressured in the least. This was my first time trying Elk Grove Subaru, I used to drive to Oakland. This is the closest dealership to Stockton.I was pleased with the service and the prices were reasonable. I used the website to make my appointment but called to cancel and reschedule. Both methods were quick and easy to use. My appointment went as expected, and I opted to have the rear brakes and brake fluid done based on the feedback I received from the inspection. Sleazy sales man and sales manager! I canned just to see if they had a specific car in stock. They wouldn’t answer me without giving them my full name, phone number, email address etc. he was very pushy and condescending just on the initial phone call to see if they had a car in stock! Then they had the manager call me and I had the same experience. Very pushy and condescending! He wanted me to come down and buy the car sight unseen before having one he found locally brought over to this dealership. I spoke with at least 5 other dealers and none of the others wanted me to buy the car without seeing it, but offered to find one and get it driver over. Then he had the nerve to tell me this is common business and say “well I guess you don’t want a car”. They were both so rude, pushy, condescending, and shower bad business practices. They are giving Subaru a bad name. The thing I love about Subaru is the relaxed buying experience. I don’t recommend going here if that’s what you’re looking for!

Marissa is the online sales person at Elk Grove Subaru. In 2021 we started looking for a new Subaru Outback to replace my husband 2007 Outback. I filled out online forms for every dealer in the Sacramento area and Marissa was the only one who got back to me. So we made the drive to Elk Grove, met Marissa, her dog Rilee and bought my husbands car. Last year I needed to replace my Outback that would just randomly stop running. Unfortunately another dealer got my Accent in faster, but we did not get the same level of service. Yesterday, we bought our son a Crosstrek and again Marissa was the only one who answered my online inquiry, but Im glad she did. Sadly, we will not be shopping for our Subarus or getting them repaired at Elk Grove Subaru any longer. Weve been completely blown off by the service department and supervisor. We needed a poorly-installed and cracked windshield (still under warranty) replaced. This was the second new windshield installed by their contractor to fail within a year. After several weeks of phone calls, a trip from Davis to show them the crack, and at least three pledges by them to call us back to let us know whether the crack would be fixed under their warranty, no one has bothered to contact us. Weve purchased two cars from Elk Grove Subaru (one used, one new) and had our vehicles serviced there for over 10 years. Not any more.

I went here with the intention to buy a car.Before I went in I reached out and had a sales manager text me back saying awesome were running an awesome sale on all the outbacks, at the time I was looking at the premium trim. Originally I was going to go in that same day but had got held up at work. The next day a sales person texted me saying that the sale I was told was incorrect and was only on the higher trim levels and that the car I originally wanted, a white premium. Would cost more than I was quoted by the sales manager by $2000. A few days later I did reach out saying I was looking at an onyx edition that I saw online and checked if it was in stock. They said yes, I went to the dealership same day and even texted my sales person I was on my way, keep in mind I live an hour away but was only going to this dealership because they had the exact car I wanted. Sales person confirmed multiple times, yes they had it but it was at a sister location, I asked for the location so I could go see it. They refused to tell me. I asked for a link, they only sent pictures of the car and a picture of the window sticker. They insisted I would need to actually go through the paperwork process and actually buy the car before I ever see it. Which initially I did agree to. I went to the dealership and test drove cars with the same look and same engine while the sales person was saying yeah youll get this car but in this color, (the color I originally wanted and was told).After saying, yes ok ill buy it he handed me the credit application paperwork and said we no longer have that car.I feel I was basically told this car I wanted was there, only to get me to the dealership so the sales manager tried to talk me into a different car that cost more.They then tried saying there was 0 cars in the state of California that matched what I wanted that the manager looked up in the database. Long story short, I am in the process of buying the car I want at a different location. The same car the manager told me was out in the state of California.I dont feel any of this was the sales persons fault, he was very helpful and was doing the best he could. I did really want to buy a car from this dealership simply because the sales person was very nice, very responsive and was awesome.

Before I speak directly about my purchase experience, I had already decided I would buy a Subaru. I was coming from and older vehicle that was having every increasing repair costs and everyone I know with a Subaru loves them for their reliability. I came to this dealer because I already knew folks that purchased vehicles from them and had reported positive experiences highlighting that the sales staff aren’t pushy, deals are relatively fair with reasonable room for negotiation and the staff make the experience as comfortable as possible. I can now say that I had the same experience. I was not bombarded by sales folks the second we arrived. While I was greeted, the staff member seemed to sense that I wanted to browse for a while and gave the appropriate amount of space for me to look around and consider my options. When I was ready, I asked to test drive and Outback 3.6r Touring edition. I was able to test the only one left on the lot and was immediately impressed with the vehicle. When I decided to move forward with the purchase the sales staff continued made sure the process was as comfortable and painless as possible. I don’t like haggling over price so that wasn’t much fun but that had nothing to do with the sales staff and after a fair amount of discussion and exploring different options, we arrived at what I thought was a fair price. While I did leave feeling bit overwhelmed at spending more than I wanted to spend, I will note that I got a much higher trim than I set out to get so the price I paid was a logical increase given what I chose to purchase; definitely not a statement of paying too much. The last step was financing which was on special for the Outback so I was happy with that and while signing papers was a bit of being reminded of going through a home purchase (ok, not that bad), the finance department made it as simple and streamlined as possible. Post sale Subaru has kept in contact post sale to make sure I have everything I need and has provided numerous tools to make sure I get the most out of the vehicle. Finally, a few days later I was back at the dealer to have what they call “the finishing touch” applied and the service staff was very professional and helpful given they have had numerous construction challenges with expanding their service department.

I wanted a very specific color and feature set for my Forester, and I ended up contacting Subaru dealerships all over Northern California. Alan and the team at Elk Grove were exceptional, and I would travel 100 miles to buy my next Subaru from them in a heartbeat. Their pricing and customer service blew everyone else out of the water. Alan was particularly helpful - the car I wanted was due to arrive when I was scheduled to be out of town. Unlike many other Subaru dealerships, Elk Grove doesnt currently allow customers to reserve/hold vehicles by putting down a $500 deposit, so this was of some concern as the vehicle I wanted was in very short supply. But, Alan stayed in communication with me and contacted me as soon as the car arrived on the lot. I was able to head up there the next day and purchase the vehicle before I left for my trip. He also arranged to have a missing luggage compartment cover shipped to me at no cost when I discovered it was missing the day after I got the car home. He didnt contest it or give me a hard time at all. Wonderful customer service. I have been, and will continue to recommend Elk Grove to anyone who is considering a Subaru purchase.

Just purchased a new car here. My experience was very mixed. I mostly dealt with Chris Kobus, and he was great. Very helpful, low pressure, easy to deal with. I recommend him. The issue was that throughout the purchasing process the sales manager would come into Chris office and apply very uncomfortable, high-pressure sales tactics. I was very clear going into it that I was not going to purchase anything that day, but he pressed VERY hard. Lots of guilt trips about how much money hes losing on this car. Constant threats that many other people are looking at this car and were going to buy it before me. Eventually I just left because it was so uncomfortable. The next day I got in touch with Chris to see if the offer was still on the table, which it was. When I arrived the sales manager popped back in and tried to reverse the offer, it was a slow day yesterday so I was willing to take the hit, I dont know about today.... Go to a small shop where the mechanics are thorough and actually explain whats wrong with your car. Bruce Cunningham is the ideal salesperson in my mind! If I could have taken him home with me and my new car I would have. I have been a loyal Subaru owner since 1996 (in fact, I wanted one since seeing my very first one in Hawaii back in 1981 while still in high school). Back then, I was enthralled with the focus on all wheel drives and Subarus story to perfect this segment of the auto industry. You hear many stories about how driving a Subaru saved a life - one is mine, after a terrible crash with my first Subaru. As a result, most of my family and many friends are now loyal Subaru owners. I am now on my 4th Subaru, a 2011 Legacy! Well...this newest Subaru has 103k miles. I drive 150 miles for work every day, and hence the high mileage. Never a problem until a few days ago when my check engine light came on. I went straight to the Elk Grove Subaru dealership. Ive always had great service from Matthew and Kurt. This time I was very worried because they informed me I had to get a new transmission. I couldnt sleep for days worried about the cost of this major repair. Matthew called me today and gave me great news...Subaru of America was willing to cover the repair under insurance, even though I was slightly above the 100k mark! Matthew and Kurt did everything they could to help make this happen and I cant rave enough about the service team at Elk Grove Subaru! In fact, my next letter is going to the President of Subaru of America, Inc.

I drove all the way from Modesto just to test drive a Crosstrek. From the minute I arrived on the lot, the sales team was very helpful all the way around. I worked with Pam, the internet sales Manager. I had been emailing back and forth for about a week and a half. She was just as pleasant to work with in person as she was via the internet.She arranged the choice of my color and trim from another dealership to be delivered and picked up the very next day.Mike and Jeremy were both very nice to work with as well. Very pleasant experience all the way around. I am glad I stepped out of Modesto to get this great service. Folks in Modesto were just trying to sell me something that they had previously sold to someone as NEW.

Bought a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek in November of 2017. With a 7/70,000 mile warranty. Was told the warranty started after the factory warranty was up. Just found going in for repairs at a different dealer. The sales person and finance person lied to me. Why would I buy an extended warranty that start from the day you buy it. It is called an extended warranty. What a ripoff. Now I am out hundreds of dollars for bad sales practices. I dont like being lied to. I will be making a formal complaint to BBB. And to California government DMV. And whoever has control over dealer sales practices.

I last bought a Subaru in 1999. 7/1/15 visit unexpectedly pleasant. Efficient, knowledgeable staff. No wasted time. Orientation quick,clear, concise. Im not sure what I expected but cars and at least one dealership have certainly changed and all for the better for the customer. Are you one of the thousands and thousands of Subaru customers who have had your windshield randomly crack? The windshield on my sons 2016 Forester (which is still under warranty) had a long crack that mysteriously appeared overnight. We took the car to the Elk Grove dealership and the service technician actually dug a hold in the glass with a pen and then said the crack was the result of an impact. There was no impact site until he created it. I spoke to the service manager, Kurtis Klima, who was no help at all. He actually said it wasnt his problem, but was Subarus problem and we should contact Subaru. Not sure who he thinks he works for, but his business card has Subaru on it. There are thousands of complaints about all Subaru models with these windshield problems and this dealer wont take responsibility. Many people have had multiple windshields installed and the problem reappears. Its clearly a manufacturers defect. In May 2018 Subaru lost a case where they attempted to stop a class-action lawsuit related to these windshield problems for certain models. Maybe if we all file complaints in Small Claims Court, this dealership and Subaru will realize its cheaper to keep their customers happy than pay someone to appear in court over and over again.

Joe in sales is the cliche sleezy car salesman. I went back and forth with him for over a week trying to get them to price match Roseville Subaru, which he said he couldnt because they car they had in stock would sell in the next day or so. Fine.Cut to a week later, the car is still available, Joe calls me at 11am and says hell sell it to me at the price I want if I came that day. I agreed and said I would be there at 3pm, he said he would hold the car.Joe calls me back at 1:30pm and says there is someone on the lot buying the car, and that he is going to sell it to him.Do yourself a favor and just go to Roseville Subaru, their prices are lower and the customer service is by far superior.
