My husband and I had the pleasure of working to refinance two of our properties with Elise. The whole process was quick and painless on our end. We were invited to her house to do all the signing where we were treated as family. Our 2 kids were entertained by the dogs, and a life sized Santa was a witness (see photo). It truly feels that Elise is interested in getting to know the people behind all the paperwork.Recently I reached out to Elise with a financing question. Elise Groves has been our mortgage broker for almost ten years and she is fantastic. She has expertly guided my husband and I through two home purchases (the second one after we lost our home in the Tubbs Fire) and a refinance of our mortgage. We attended one of Elise’s home buying seminars in 1998 in hopes of learning how to purchase our very first house. We learned so much! I admit I knew nothing about taking out a mortgage when I bought a home, but Elise made the complicated process a breeze. I still honestly have no clue what magic she pulled off, but all I can say is I am super happy with the service, her willingness to go the extra mile and explain things that were confusing to me at first, and she really put my mind at ease that I was making a wise financial choice. We met Elise when we purchased our first home in Santa Rosa, and she was so wonderful that we chose her again when we needed help with a very complex sale and purchase that had to happen at the same time (we had contingencies on both houses, and it was a nail-biting time). Ive used Elise Groves twice over the past 5 years- once when purchasing my home, and later refinancing my mortgage. Both times she was so helpful and made the process smooth and painless! She has great communication, both virtually and in person; she does this thing where she records her explanation of mortgage options and reviews all the numbers, and you can watch and rewatch it, which is good for me since Im not an expert. She also came to my house several times to answer questions and review documents.One thing I really appreciated when working with her is that she has a really pragmatic, no-nonsense approach. She cuts through the bs and makes some of the really confusing mortgage stuff clear and easy to understand. She also really took the initiative to find me the absolute lowest mortgage rate available when we refinanced, doing some last-minute shuffling to lower it by a percent even after Id agreed to a higher one. Shes saved me so much money on my monthly mortgage payments and worked with me to figure out a faster principal paydown that will reduce the length of the mortgage.By chance I ended up living in Elises neighborhood and she has continued to welcome us as her neighbor and hooking us up with her extensive network of friends and associates. If anyone can do it, Elise Groves can do it. Thats what one of our friends told us when we were at a point of wanting to refinance our home several years ago. Wow, were they right. Interest rates had fallen and we wanted to lower our mortgage payment and take some money our for home improvements. Elise did the work and was able to get our refi done smoothly. Since I purchased my first home, Elise is the ONLY mortgage broker I have ever used because she has taken exceptional care of me and my financial situation. With my first home, she obtained a fabulous little known federal tax credit for me, and then refinanced me as rates dropped to save me money. Win-win. Once I sold that home and bought our present home, once again she figured out the best to use my funds to my advantage, and secured a great rate. That home has really appreciated now and my payments are even lower with the most recent refinance. There is no one I trust more with my financial affairs. I have known Elise since 1980. There is nobody I trust more. There just isnt. When my ex-wife and I started house hunting, the only person we considered to be our broker was Elise. We got the best available rate initially. We then refinanced and she got us an even better rate. She really looked out for us and saved us a lot of money over the years. Unfortunately she couldnt save our marriage, but thats another story.How much do I trust her? I have recommended her services to multiple friends and family. She takes care of business. She crosses her ts and dots her is. More than 40 years of friendship goes a long way, but if she wasnt great as a broker, I wouldnt recommend her.
