I had a colonoscopy this morning. It was a quick, easy process. Pretreatment instructions are very thorough and complete; nurse available by phone for any questions or concerns. During treatment, staff is courteous, well informed, conscientious to patient. Anesthesiologist and Gastroenterologist, Dr Tarakji, are very thorough and informative; also both are very conscientious. Everyone is very friendly from beginning to end!I highly recommend Dr Tarakji and staff, if you need to have a colonoscopy!

Went in for acolonoscopy. All staff were very pleasant and professional. The procedure from start to finish was explained to me with opportunity to ask questions. Dr Terakji did my upper endoscopy in 2012 that cured my acid reflux problem that was so severe my esophagus was bleeding. In one procedure, it stopped it from happening again.Recently, I was about to get colonoscopy and the UCLA facility insisted that I have to go under anesthesia because I have sleep apnea. I’ve had so many surgeries from my cancer treatment in the last 3-4 years and it effected me severely. In fact, it brought on sleep apnea, shortness of breath, heart problems, and more. I cancelled my colonoscopy with them and came back to Dr Terakji for consultation. He was so thorough in checking my history. My last two colonoscopy was done without anesthesia. He also told me that because of my past surgery to remove part of my sigmoid colon, the colonoscopy is easier on me because that part of colon is the most unbearable for people undergoing colonoscopy. Even though it is standard practice to make sleep apnea patient to go under anesthesia for it, he thinks I can do it without, to my great relief. So I’m scheduling colonoscopy with him in December. I highly recommend Dr Terakji

Dr. Tarakji was great and professional, the medical team was fine, but the anesthesiologist was not cool. I was poked at four different locations to finally have the IV. In short, there was no pain from colonoscopy but much pain from getting the IV.

Dr. Tarakji is an outstanding Gastroenterologist. He preformed my colonoscopy. He genuinely cares about his patients. He’s personable and knowledgeable. He explains everything in detail, makes sure you understood what he said, and makes sure you don’t have any questions. My prior experience and first colonoscopy with a different Dr. and clinic made me not want to ever have a colonoscopy again. I now view colonoscopies different and would recommend Dr. Tarakji to anyone who wants an excellent Gastroenterologist.

I have been a patient of Dr. Tarakjis for at least 5 years. Not onlly is Dr. Tarakkji is kind and patient but he tells you the truth. I saw him last week and he told me what I have to do to feel better. I listen to him and Im feeling so much better. He manages me very well with the medication and diet that I have to be on. Also his staff is one of the best! They all are helpful, polite and friendly. Happy that Im a patient of his.

Im a person who likes to interview my doctor before I need them as it were. I have two conditions that Dr. Tarakji will monitor for me ... and because I have multiple health issues in addition to these GI problems its important to have a Dr. who listens. It makes all the difference. How do you know - you give your history - if s/he doesnt ask questions, they werent listening in most cases. Dr. Tarakji was spot on with his questions. Definitely a 5* for the doc. His office staff is also very well trained - Im deaf and need some accommodation to hear when people talk to me ... they remember and they just do it. Makes me feel normal. The single negative I have does not relate to staff or care but billing since there is a charge for the doc, for an anesthesiologist or nurse anesthetist, the facility and the pathology. We would love it if all of these people/services would use the same billing protocol. They do not and you will get several invoices that you need to keep track of. Ask when the procedure is scheduled how many outside services will be included.
