We were very fortunate to work with Scott and Elegant Flooring during our recent full house remodel of our Aptos home. Scott is great to work with, he is very knowledgable, detailed oriented, honest and, responsive.Our house had difficult sub flooring condition with uneven floors, transitions between multiple type of sub flooring and unique wood stairs. Scott was able to figure out all the details, give us a fair bid and guide us through the entire process.The crew that did the work was led by Ruben who is an outstanding professional that takes great care to do an amazing job and the results speaks for themself.We highly recommend Elegant flooring for the quality of the business, for Scott’s great support, for their fair pricing and mostly for the beautiful floors that you will enjoy for many years.

We had Elegant Floors remove old carpeting on stairs and the second story and replace it with GemCore vinyl flooring that looks very much like wood flooring. The project turned out great! There were many options to choose from. We chose a color that worked with the tile on the first floor. We were concerned about how it would look on the stairs but it looks great. It was a pleasure to work with them. They were careful and tidy. They removed then replaced the molding, so there was some paint touch up afterward. We are very pleased with the outcome.

We were trying to rent a vacant home, and all the prospects told us the sam thing: remove the carpet; the exposed hardwood floors look dingy, poor.I knew Scott refinished floors, and I asked him for a bid. He toured the property on Friday, the bid was VERY reasonable, and, due to the urgency of a vacant property, he could have a crew the on Monday.Never thought I’d need to say this, but he was too fast! When we were finished with other work, his crew showed up -on time- and worked full-time through to completion.The house rented when the next prospects toured the property-and that is the real acid test.He knows his business, prices reasonably, his crew shows up on-time, ready to work, works through to completion…NO COMPLAINTS!Looks how the floors added to the dining room & living room views.

Work with Scott preparing a home for sale. Very knowledgeable and experienced professional. First. He was able to recognize that there was hardwood floor not just under the carpet but also under the tiles in the entryway. His crew was able to reve the tile and refinish the original hardwood. They also filled in some missing areas with perfectly matching materials.Scotts crew installed laminate floor in the kitchen over the existing vinyl and created a transition between the hardwood and the laminate.All work was done with the original estimate and on time. I definitely will recommend Elegant Floors for a job of any size.

I recently bought a fixer upper, and the old carpet badly needed to be replace. We worked with Scott to figure out what kind of floors the old carpet was hiding and measure them, and some rooms turned out to have hardwood! Scott was very accommodating in providing us different quotes in case we needed to use a different floor material, and he recommended gemcore composite flooring for the other rooms which just had plywood flooring.For the hardwood floors he and Teri gave us various stain options, and I opted to lighten the floor. The team (led by Louis) did an amazing job, sanding and varnishing the floors. Took about a week to let it set and they installed gemcore for the other rooms. The flooring looks amazing now and I couldnt be happier. they also installed base boards for all the rooms and it really wraps up the whole feel of the place. They even added baseboards around the fireplace to match the gemcore and the room dividers. Somehow they also made my crawl space closet look so much better with the gemcore flooring, I was very impressed.Their guy Jerry also hauled away everything once the work was done, Im quite amazing how he fit everything into his van with the amount of old carpet and under carpet they tore up.We did have a hiccup with not ordering the right amount of gemcore flooring at the start, but Scott and team made it right and they even worked late to finish it up once they got the rest of the materials. Thats some dedication in my opinion :) additionally they also sanded up and cleaned one of our closets which had Cedar flooring which was nice to keep.Thank you for the amazing work Elegant Floors!

Elegant Floors did an incredible job refinishing my 30 year old red oak floors! There were so many repairs to be done. It was an enormous project with over 3500 sq feet. They worked tirelessly to help me reach my deadline before moving into our new home. Scott is friendly, responsive, and an expert in hardwood floors. Reuben is talented and thorough. His meticulous skills, both with the carpentry and the floors, is beyond impressive. He had my best interest in mind the entire time and went above and beyond. I trusted him completely with all of the many decisions involved. I am so pleased with the final product. I highly recommend Elegant Floors!

I asked Elegant Floors to perform a refinishing on an existing engineered wood floor, to change its color from dark to a lighter color which can be a challenging project.Its always a worrying project since you know what you start with, but you dont know what you will end up with. I am happy to announce that I am very pleased with the result and the overall experience !Scott is very knowledgeable and immediately recognized the brand and model of floor at first glance, which I found to be very impressive.The team worked efficiently with extremely limited dust, which I really appreciated. They covered my kitchen counters and performed a full cleaning when they were done.I was able to independently verify that they are using quality products for the staining. The wood looks even better than with the original stain I asked them to remove.Pricing was very reasonable considering the amount of time they spent doing the job.Overall I am happy with the service I received and I recommend Elegant Floors if you have a floor to refinish.

Elegant Floors is a great company. The cost is reasonable for very high caliber work. Scott and Teri are a pleasure to work with. We needed to replace old and add new wood floors - the new oak floors flow together and look fabulous! The skilled install team was punctual, courteous, and VERY hard-working to get the job done. The process takes some time, but our 1950s rancher floors have never looked so good. We will be using them again for a project in another part of the house. Dont hesitate to call Elegant Floors!

Elegant Floors refinished my kitchen floor and a small area around the makeup desk in the master bedroom. The finish had worn through in multiple areas in the kitchen and also next to the makeup desk. They were very accommodating about scheduling when we were out of town. The first time, the finish was lovely but a shade darker than the adjacent flooring. No problem! They redid the whole process at no charge. They recommended a redo. I didnt have to beg, borrow or steal. Bottomline: they stand behind their work. I cannot recommend them more highly. Below: You can see the color match with the original stain in the closet.

A fastidious neighbor recommended Elegant Floors to me and I am so glad I used them. The project was complex as I was adding new flooring and regenerating a large area of existing flooring which involved so many days to complete. The company was both professional and flexible in dealing with the project and helped ease the burden by providing reputable movers and rug cleaners to assist as necessary. The interface with them was impressive, especially Scott and Teri. Scott has so much invaluable experience and was so helpful in the project.Meanwhile, Teri, the interface with the office was on top of the project and a delight to work with. I can not say enough about the quality of this companys work and the team that accomplished it.

My experience with this company has been horrifying, the contract said that they would utilize Powerful dust extraction system to my horror they just used sanding machine with dust bags collection, and they emptied the collection bags into a plastic bag in the living room. They left my newly painted apartment and newly installed kitchen cabinet full of thin wood dust. The job was poorly performed, I was told that they would come back for touch ups, but at that point I had enough with dealing with this company and I declined, yesterday they came back with the railings which the job performed on them was as shoddy and poor as the rest.My recommendation and advise: if you ever end up using this company you better have a video camera to record what is going on, because if anything goes wrong they will fault others, and they will bill you for extra work. (the pictures are just an example of the Powerful dust extraction system).

We had our Oak hardwood floors repaired and refinished. The whole process was well organized and on time, from the initial estimate to completion. The floors were originally stained cherry and we went with a much lighter neutral, which turned out beautifully. Also had the baseboards replace and those look great as well. Very happy with the results and Scott at Elegant floors was responsive throughout the process, offering up alternatives and clear about the costs. It is a lot of work getting everything out of the house to make it possible. But it has been a good experience because Elegant Floors pointed us toward good options for moving the furniture and new carpeting, while managing the floor refinishing efficiently and professionally.

I have recently asked Elegant Floors to conduct a re-surfacing project to my old hard-wood floor. I am very happy with the experience and would like to give the company a 5-star rating.Scott is very professional and experienced. He examined my old floor carefully and provided very thoughtful proposal. Teri has been super friendly and responsive during the process. She explained project options, time table, and payment schedule very clearly. The team did high-quality job and on time. They used the Bona Atomic Trailer and kept the house dust free. The final result exceeds my expectation with very reasonable price. I really enjoy my new floor and the experience working with the company. Moved into my new place and needed to get the floors replaced upstairs and on the stairs. Had some logistical hurdles to get through as I wanted the new floors installed ASAP before I moved in all my stuff to my new home. Scott and his team gave great recommendations and got my floor installed and looking awesome in 2 days! They came back to do the stairs later in order to accommodate my moving and they look great too. The time and detail they took to do the custom side molding on my stairs is fantastic. Extra plus, office manager who answers the phone (Teri) is very responsive and friendly. I would definitely go to Elegant Floors again for my flooring needs.

Were so glad we chose Elegant Floors to refinish our 70 year old bedroom hardwood floors! They now look like new! The 3 day process was easier than expected. The dustless sanding is truly dustless! The crew was punctual and hard working. New, painted baseboards added the finishing touch! Elegant Floors price was more than fair for the results we received.

Elegant Floors did a wonderful job both refinishing our parquet wood floors and installing a new, more durable, wood grain synthetic floor in our kitchen. The old kitchen floor was bamboo and it had not held up well. The estimator from Elegant Floors suggested the new flooring material when we had been thinking of refinishing the bamboo flooring. The new flooring was a huge improvement. The refinished floors look as good as new floors. The staff was considerate and took good care of our house, leaving a minimum of sawdust behind.

I had my kitchen hardwood floors recently refinished by Elegant Floors of Sunnyvale and their worksmanship was impeccable. Indeed, the floor was refinished about 10 years ago and at the time I thought the result adequate - but still a few spots where thought shouldve been better sanded or handled. This time around, the floor looks noticeably BETTER than last time - these guys were sanding out every single blemish they could and the floor finish is just what we wanted and needed in this room. Also, the price was reasonable - and indeed you get a little discount if you pay with check instead of cc. I have further hardwood floor work in our living an dining room are down the line to be done, and theres no doubt in my mind that Ill have Elegant Floors do the job!

Elegant Floors did a great job refinishing the floors in our house. Our floors were installed in the 1950s and had a lot of damage and wear and tear. However, they fixed all the problems and made them look like new again. Scott knows his business!

We have 3/4 oak hardwood floor throughout most of our house. The floor had been installed over 30 years ago, and roof leaks, cats and other water damage had discolored sections and caused some cupping. There were also uneven, wavy sections (shutter?) from the original installation and from a less than perfect attempt at refinishing a section by ourselves. Elegant floors did an excellent job of making the floors look better than new and we are very happy.Despite warning of inevitable dust even with the dustless system, we were pleased with how clean everything was afterwards. The workers were careful to cover and seal off the few places without hardwood (kitchen, baths) and were clean and prompt. The price was lower than an estimate by another company using the same dustless system. Moving out was a hassle, but it was time to go through some of our accumulation anyway. We also had to remove the base shoe around the molding ourselves and reinstall where needed afterwards, but understood that before signing the contract.Overall,we are extremely pleased with Elegant and our new floors and wish we had done it years ago.

We were on a tight deadline given that our adopted Spanish greyhound was going to arrive from overseas in less than 2 weeks. We needed to replace the carpet in the family and living rooms ASAP. Scott came thru with the most reasonable pricing amongst all the estimates I’d gotten and promised to deliver on time. The wood floors were dropped off 2 days later and allowed to aclimate in my house for 72 hours. Then Jose came with his installation partner and completed the entire job by done in 3 days. Elegant Floors did an extremely poor job installing engineered hardwood - there are numerous problems with their work. I knew immediately after stepping on the finished product that something was wrong. There are locations throughout the entire engineered flooring where there is significant give and movement when stepping down. They’re essentially soft spots, and some are so bad that I can see the floor move 2-3 feet away from where I step! These soft spots are scattered throughout every room and the hallway. Right away, I was upfront with Scott (the owner) about my concerns. After initially trying to convince me this is normal for a floating install, Scott starting discussing potential options for fixing it. After talking about it for weeks, he tried implementing a “fix” in one location of drilling holes into the wood and injecting an epoxy underneath - this ended up making things worse at this test spot - now there is an extremely loud crunch when I step on this location (from the wood contacting either the dried epoxy or pad underneath).For 6 to 8 weeks, Scott went back and forth between trying to convince me the soft spots were normal and promising effective fixes. I had two other contractors look at the floors, and both of them said the extreme movement was not normal. Eventually, Scott suggested that we have a certified floor inspector examine the work to get a third party opinion that was acceptable to him. Scott and I would then go through the results together. He chose an inspector that he knew from a conference, and the inspection was completed on August 7. The inspector provided Scott with the report on August 9. The inspector was not willing to send the report to me since Scott paid for the inspection. To my surprise, Scott has been unwilling to share the report with me. It has been more than a month and Scott still has not shared it despite numerous requests - at one point early on, he said he was still reviewing the report, but since then little to no response to my phone calls, texts, or emails.In addition to the soft spots, there are numerous other issues with the floors:- Elegant Floors did not remove old linoleum flooring in my kitchen (per my contract); instead they just laid the engineered hardwood over it. As a result, you can feel a significant height difference at the edge of the kitchen. The old laminate flooring was removed adjacent to the kitchen, so boards at the kitchen edge that are supposed to be level, are actually at different heights. The boards are all connected, and I doubt this will hold up. In addition to the height difference feeling very noticeable when stepping on it, you can hear a crunch from the pad when stepping on the transition area.- Elegant Floors didn’t purchase the correct trims (per my contract); instead they made their own cheap pieces from unfinished wood, did a poor paint job and called it good. Some of the paint doesn’t match the color on the floor, there is inconsistent sanding on the boards, and one trim piece was even installed with a crack!- Elegant Floors left small holes throughout all of my baseboards. I’m almost certain these are from a tool that they used to remove the basebaords prior to removing the old floor or nail holes to reinstall the baseboards that they didn’t cover. Now my baseboards are littered with holes every 9-12 inches.Beyond the terrible quality of their work, the lack to communication and deceitful nature regarding not sharing the inspection results is not acceptable. Choose another contractor!

Great work. They were flexible with our changing scheduling requirements. They gave us a fair price, good recommendations and had the customers best interests in mind. For example he recommended us to forego putting vinal flooring in our entryway and just leaving it hard wood. It was less money for them but a better value and made more sense for us. My wife booked them. Our floor looked terrible and now it looks beautiful. They were patient with us when they showed us the initial samples and my wife was not happy with either stain color, but she was happy with the second samples.
